Stepping into her house, Charlotte stripped out of her flight suite and headed to her bathroom, turning her shower on getting it as hot as she could, she stepped under the water mixing with the tears that flowed down her face. It didn't matter how many times she tried to stop they just kept coming. She felt so betrayed, she knew she had been a bit off with Hangman recently, his behaviour towards Rooster and just in general was pissing her off but she never thought he would out her secret and in front of the whole team.

After she had completed her shower routine she made her way downstairs, turned the TV on and sat on the sofa, she wasn't paying any attention to the TV too wrapped up in her thoughts and the tears had started again.

She heard a click that indicated her front door had opened, only one person would just walk in without knocking and it was the one person she didn't want to see right now. She didn't look up she just continued looking dead ahead.

"Char" Roosters voice rang out as he stepped into her lounge and saw her on the sofa.

Charlotte slowly turned her head to look at him, tears flowing even more. Roosters heart broke as he saw the woman he loved so upset, he needed to know what Hangman was talking about, but he couldn't just let her sit there crying. He walked over to the sofa and scooped the woman up in his arms, placed her on his lap and cuddled into her as she sobbed into his shoulder.

After a few minutes Charlotte's sobs had slowed, they both just sat there in silence, Rooster rubbing soft circles on her back, Charlotte knew she couldn't just sit in silence any longer she had to explain to him what Hangman had said. She slowly pulled away and looked up at Rooster who was looking back at her, it was evident he had cried as she could see slight tear stains on his cheeks. Charlotte went to speak before Rooster interrupted her.

"I have so many questions for you Char" Charlotte looked at Rooster nodding that she would answer any questions he had.

"Did you get rid of my baby?" Rooster could barely finish the sentence before he felt tears welling up in his eyes again. Charlotte felt her breath hitch in her throat, she knew exactly why he was asking this first, Rooster had always wanted a family and he would be devastated if an opportunity had been taken away from him.

Charlotte sat back in Roosters lap; he lifted his head to look her in the eye. "No, I didn't, I would never do that, especially not to you."

Rooster sat looking confused "So what happened, Hangman said he took you to the doctor's coz you were pregnant".

Charlotte sighed "When we were in the Academy, I missed a period, so I took a pregnancy test and it came back positive, Hangman found me in the locker room crying, he saw the test and sat with me for a bit we talked and he said he would take me to the Doctors, the next day we went and the OBGYN did a second test and blood work which all came back negative, so it was a false positive. I was never pregnant".

Rooster took in every word she was saying visibly relaxing, he took Charlotte into a hug "God Char why didn't you tell me?"

Charlotte shrugged as Rooster let her go "I don't know, as soon as I saw the two lines I panicked, you were out on a date, and I thought you'd be pissed if I called you and then once I found out I wasn't actually pregnant I didn't see the point in bringing it up"

Rooster took his hands and cupped Charlotte's face forcing her to look at him "I will never be pissed at you needing me, ok?"

Charlotte felt her heart skip a beat, she nodded before Rooster spoke again "One more question, why Hangman? Of all the people"

Charlotte let out a small chuckle "I didn't plan on telling him, I was sat in the locker room showers crying, he was coming into shower and found me, by the time I realised who was actually in there with me he had seen the test and was sat on the floor with me."

Charlotte and Rooster sat in silence for a few minutes when Charlotte heard her phone vibrate, she picked it up and saw she had 4 missed calls and 3 texts from Phoenix, 6 missed calls and 7 texts from Hangman and 2 missed calls from an unknown number. Rooster saw her brow furrow.

"Everything ok?" He asked.

"Yeah, just a load of texts and missed calls from Phoenix and Hangman" Charlotte sighed "I'm not sure which part I'm dreading more, speaking to Jake or seeing my dad tomorrow, what did he say once I left?"

"Not much, once me and Hangman started arguing again, he snapped out of his daze and told us all to go home and then he left".

Charlotte flopped back down on the sofa, Rooster took her legs and placed them on his lap rubbing his hand up and down her calf.

"What a day huh?" Rooster broke the silence.

Charlotte laughed "Tell me about it"

Suddenly there was a knock on the door, Charlotte looked at it as Rooster stood to go answer it, he opened the door to see Phoenix, he smiled at the woman who walked past him to enter, Rooster looked back at the door to see Hangman walking up the path.

"Oh, hell no" Rooster screeched as he tried to shut the door, Phoenix had come back to the door stopping Rooster from slamming it in Hangman's face.

"Come on Roost, he comes in peace, let him apologise" Phoenix stated looking between Rooster and Charlotte who nodded her head to let him come in.

Hangman walked into the house he could feel Roosters glare on him the whole time, he went into the living room and sat down next to Charlotte who gave him a soft glare. Rooster and Phoenix headed into the kitchen to give the two some privacy.

"Look Char, I'm really sorry, I shouldn't have said what I said, especially not in front of everyone".

"Your right you shouldn't, I trusted you Jake, you promised to never bring it up" Charlotte could feel the tears in her eyes.

"I know i did, and I am truly sorry, I know you won't trust me again but please believe me when I say how sorry I am" Charlotte had stood up from the sofa and was pacing.

"Sorry?" She had started shouting now "Jake, you told our whole Top Gun team that I had a pregnancy scare at the Academy, not just that you told my dad" Charlotte had let the tears go again.

Jake stood up from his position on the sofa and took the woman in his arms, she tried to fight him for a second, but he just kept hold of her until she finally relaxed into his arms letting the sobs rake through her body. Rooster and Phoenix opened the kitchen door after hearing Charlotte shout, they both stood in the doorway watching the pair in front of them, Roosters jaw clenched slightly at the sight, Phoenix sensing his jealousy took Rooster by the arm and dragged him back in the kitchen, shutting the door behind them.

Hey, what's that all about?" Phoenix asked.

Grabbing a beer from the fridge and pacing up and down he looked over to the female "What's, what about?"

"Come on Roost don't play dumb; I know that look and that's jealousy".

"What, no, no, I just don't like Hangman, he can't be trusted, she's vulnerable right now and he's going to worm his way in and make her forgive him" Rooster ranted.

"She's not stupid Roost, she won't forgive him like nothing happened that quickly, but enough of that I know there is something more here, come on out with it" Phoenix stood in front of Rooster.

Rooster looked at Phoenix not knowing where to start.

"If it helps, I know all about you two fucking your way through the Academy, Top Gun and I'm assuming now?" Phoenix stated. Rooster let out a breath.

"Did you know about her thinking she was pregnant?" Rooster asked.

"No, I actually didn't, I think Hangman was the only one who did, I suppose there was no point in any of us knowing".

"I should have known" Rooster let out "She thought she was pregnant with my baby, weather she was or not I should have known and should have been with her, it should have been me taking her to the doctors not him" He sat for a few seconds before he spoke again "I shouldn't have been out hooking up with other girls".

Phoenix looked at the man in front of her, she was finally getting somewhere "Why were you out hooking up with other girls when you were sleeping with Char?" Phoenix asked trying to keep her voice soft.

Rooster looked up at Phoenix "Because I was trying to convince myself I didn't love her".

Both Phoenix and Rooster looked up as they heard a gasp from the kitchen door where Charlotte and Hangman both stood having heard exactly what Rooster just said.
