Me: Hello there, my dinos. CarnotaurusMan back at it again with the newest installment of my 'A Blooming Family' rewrite! Not a whole lot changed in this chapter as well, but just enough to make a difference from the original. But I'll talk about the changes at the end, right now I'd like to have a very special character say the disclaimer today. Give it up for Droid! (Droid walks on stage)

Droid: DROID IS READY TO SAY DISCLAIMER!

Me: Go right ahead, buddy.

Droid: (nods at me) CARNOTAURUSMAN DOES NOT OWN ANYTHING FROM DRINOSAUR KING.

Me: I wish I did, but such is life. Let's roll!

So many emotions were running around in Zander's mind. Primarily he is shocked, he never would've thought that he'd become a father so soon. But he's also happy, the fact that he will become a father soon made his heart swell in joy. But amidst those other feelings…

Fear also dwindled.

So many questions ran through his mind: What would Dr. Z think? What would his sibling say? What will become of him and his angel?

"Zander?...Are you still there *sniff*?"

Completely forgetting that he was still on the phone with Reese, Zander snaps back into reality, "Yeah, yeah, I'm still here," he then asks, "Did you take a pregnancy test to be sure?"

"*sniff*...Three of them, a-and they all came back positive." replies Reese.

"Does...anyone in your family know?"

"No...not- *sniff* not yet, but they might find out soon e-enough," Reese continues, "But...that's not my main concern, *sniff* my main concern is...is with you." This seemed to puzzle Zander, what did she mean by he is her biggest concern?

"Why me, angel?"

"Because…*sniff* because…" Reese's sniveling grew, then she said, "...because I'm afraid you'll leave me!" That's when Reese broke down into more tears.

This shook Zander to his core, "Wh...what?!"

"I-I-I'm afraid, now that y-you know I'm pregnant *sniff*, you...you just might leave me!" cried Reese, "I don't want to be alone in this *sniff*. If being pregnant wasn't bad enough, I don't *sniff*...I don't know if you want to be a father this soon. I...I'm not ready for this, a-and I'm not ready for you to leave me. Oh, Zander~!" This was heartbreaking for Zander to hear, the love of his life crying a river all while thinking he'll leave her. Zander tries to console her, "Reese, my angel, that's not true! I would never dare think about leaving you, even for a second, all I ever think about is being with you." he continued, "I'm fully supportive of your pregnancy, I'm overjoyed to being a father, but most importantly I'm glad that I've got you."

"*sniff* You mean it?"

"I mean it to the very depths of my heart, Reese."

After lightening up on her tears, Reese tells her boyfriend, "I'm really sorry, Zander. I...I'm just an emotional wreck. Everything is-is just coming to me so fast, and..."

"Angel, there's no need to apologize. I can only imagine how you're feeling." said Zander, "But let's try to calm ourselves down a bit. Okay?" On the other end, Reese can be heard taking deep breaths while trying to cease her crying. "Okay *sniff*...okay…"

"Feeling any better?"

"A little, but not really." He really felt bad for Reese, all Zander wanted to do was be there for her but…

Wait a minute! That's it!

He says to his lover, "Reese, don't you worry. Things will get better soon."

"*sniff* I don't see how?"

"Oh they will, I just need to find some Alpha Droids to help move my stuff."

"Zander, that's not going to...wait, what did you say?"

Zander replies, "I said, I need to find a few Alpha Droids to move my stuff to the hangar. I hope to be in Sanjo City by tomorrow."

"Y-You mean…?" asks Reese.

"Yes. I'm leaving my life in the Alpha Gang behind, I'm going to be with you." A gasp can be heard on the other end. Reese stutters, "B-But, you...your family…they'll..."

Zander let's a sigh slip past his lips. "I know, but their views on you isn't going to stop us from being together. If they can't handle the fact that I have a new responsibility on my hands, they can just stuff it," Zander continues, "The thing that matters right now is that we need to be together, not only for our sake, but for our child's. What kind of father would I be if I wasn't there for you or for our child? I'm staying firm with my conscience, I'm leaving to be with you."

Reese starts to tear up once more, "Y-You...you do care *sniff*."

"Of course I care," replied the tall man, "My plan is to move out of this place before anyone notices me."

"Okay *sniff*, but please...hurry."

Zander nods, "Don't worry angel, I'll arrive at your house tomorrow morning."

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow."

"I'll see you tomorrow, Reese. Just hang tight," once he hung up the phone, Zander walked up to a panel on the wall and pushed a button. After a few moments later, a few Alpha Droids entered the room and gave a salute, "DROID!"

"Alpha Droids, I need you to start packing my belongings and deliver them to the hangar for transportation," directs Zander.

The droids salute once more as they follow orders, "PACKING! PACKING! PACKING," and began grabbing all of Zander's belongings and placed them in boxes. Afterwards, they begin moving the boxes to the hangar.

All the commotion wakes up Spiny. He yawns, then watches the Alpha Droids follow Zander out the room. "Rawr (What the)?" The chibi Spinosaurus follows after the group to the hangar.

Back with Reese after she hung up with Zander, she clings to her pillow that she's held onto for the entire call and sobs.

Then came a knock on her door, nearly scaring the living daylights out of her.

"Wh...who is it?"

The person on the other side says, "It's me, Reese. Can I come in?"

It was Zoe. She must've heard her crying during her call with Zander. Reese scrambles to hide her pregnancy tests inside the little drawer of her night stand. Once those were out of sight, Reese said, "Come on in."

The younger sister enters her room, she was just about ready for bed as Zoe wore her nightgown and had her hair let down. She waves at Reese, "Hey."

The eldest sister waved back, "Hey."

Both sisters sat through an awkward silence. But Zoe breaks the silence by asking, "Are you feeling alright?" Reese responded by shaking her head no. Zoe continues, "I could hear you crying from my room. Did something happen?"

Not wanting to share the news to Zoe just yet, Reese wipes a tear from her eye and lies, "I had a...really bad nightmare."

Zoe sits on the side of the bed next to her sister, "May I ask what it was about?" Reese turns her head away from her sister, hesitant on replying, to which Zoe responds with, "If you don't want to talk about it, it's fine. I won't push it."

Reese sighs through her lips before she says, "Remember earlier today about our conversation about my condition getting worse?" The younger sister nodded in response as Reese continued, "Well, in my dream, it...it got worse. It was unbearable. *sniff*" Reese started to tear back up once more, "I-I don't want to go into too explicit detail, but...let's just say *sniff* i-it ended with me in a hospital bed and Zander being *sniff*...being pulled away from me. When I woke up, I...I called Zander to help calm me down before you came in. *sniff*"

"Really bad dream, then?" Reese nods to Zoe's question, she adds, "It was un...unbearable."

It was clearly visible how much Reese was shaken up. So Zoe does the only thing that any other sister would do, she hugs Reese in a comforting way. This surprised the older sister, "Wh...What are you doing?"

"Giving you a hug," says Zoe, "You definitely need one after today." Touched by Zoe's act of kindness, Reese returned the hug and soon started streaming tears once more. "*sniff* How could I have been given such a wonderful sister like you?" she wondered out loud.

Zoe responds with a smile, "I guess we're both just lucky, huh."

Reese let out a small chuckle, "Heh, yeah. I guess so."

Something nudged against Reese's leg as the two sisters heard soft noises. They look down to see Bud trying to get their attention. "Hey, Bud. Come here," Reese picks up her chibi Saurolophus, then wiped a tear from her eye, "I see you wanted to help cheer me up too." Bud nuzzled his head into Reese's neck as the blonde scientist cuddled with her dinosaur. Zoe smiled as Reese and Bud were cuddling.

A low rumble came from Reese as her face slowly turned green. "You okay there, Reese?" asked Zoe.

Reese sets Bud down as she races off to the bathroom, "I'll be right back!" After Zoe watched her sister bolt out of the room, she looks down at Bud and said, "I feel really bad for Reese. What about you, Bud?"

"Rooooar (I feel the same way)."

Out on the Alpha Gang hangar, Zander is seen supervising the Alpha Droids as they start packing all his belongings into the aircraft he used for the double date. He watches each droid place a box in the back seat and in the trunk. "Good work, Alpha Droids," said Zander, "I might be able to leave without being spotted."

"Zander?"

He spoke too soon.

Whoever said his name spooked Zander to the point where shivers went down his spine and his ahoges stood straight up. As he turns around, he comes face to face with the maid of the Alpha Gang.

Helga.

She asks him, "What on earth are you doing?" She gave him the stink eye, letting Zander know that she wasn't going to be easily fooled. Zander says to her, "Okay, look. I'm in a bit of a rush Helga, but I can explain everything."

Helga taps her foot with her fists on her hips, "Well, I'm waiting."

With a nod from Zander, "Alright. But first, do you remember those kids that snuck into Zeta Point?" Helga raises an eyebrow, "How could I not forget, those kids make quite a mess with the plumbing. But why are you bringing this up?"

"Well, let's just say one of them has an older sister that I started dating a couple of months ago. We've been going out quite a bit, and we've enjoyed each other's company ever since," Zander continued, "However, something unexpected has happened to her. Since I last talked with her, she's in quite a bit of pain and I need to go see her."

"What happened?" asked the maid.

Zander panicked as he tried to dodge the question, "Well, uh...it's kinda hard to explain…"

"Zander. Answer me."

He gulped in fear, Zander knew what Helga would do if he did not comply. Imagining the worst to come, he takes in a deep breath…

"...She's pregnant."

That was enough, even for Helga, to be thrown off. "What?" she said.

Zander says, "She's pregnant, and right now I need to get all of my stuff out of here to go see here."

Helga blinked a couple of times, this was the first time in a while that the maid has ever been shocked like this, "Well, I never would've imagined that you would actually get someone pregnant."

"Gee, thanks." said Zander, sarcastically before continuing, "But anyways, I can't stay here. It's bad enough that Ursula, Seth, even Ed know that I'm dating someone from the enemy team."

"So, you're telling me that you got a woman pregnant, and now you're leaving everything behind?" asked Helga, "Your life, your family, all of it?"

"It pains me to say this, it really does, but yes. I want to at least be there for not only my girlfriend, but for my newborn child as well," explained Zander "Besides, if I were to still stay here and if Dr. Z finds out, he'll go ballistic and try not only to harm me but my girlfriend too. I can't afford to have my angel harmed." Helga remained silent as she continued to let Zander speak, "So please understand, even though I'm leaving everything behind, I must be there for my new family."

The maid doesn't respond right away, making Zander quite nervous of what she's going to say. After an intense minute for him, Helga finally speaks…

"I fully understand, Zander."

Zander was not expecting that to be her answer. "Huh?" he said.

Helga turns to the Alpha Droids and points to the aircraft. "You droids will finish packing, and make it snappy!" She commanded. All of the Alpha Droids picked up a box and headed to the aircraft. They chanted, "PACKING! PACKING! PACKING!"

Zander watched the droids move his belongings before looking back at Hela and asks, "You're actually letting me go?"

Helga nodded. "Yes. Knowing everyone here, they wouldn't be too fond of knowing about the baby. But I, for one, am flattered you choose to be with your baby than to stay here. " said Helga, "Any man that I see caring for their child they have my respect, and you Zander have mine."

This made Zander smile, "Wow, thank you Helga."

"Don't mention it."

The Alpha Droids have now finished packing the aircraft with Zander's stuff. They tried to close the doors, but so much stuff was cramped into the aircraft that the doors nor the trunk were closing. As the droids tried to close everything, "CLOSING! CLOSING! CLOSING!", one Alpha Droid in particular was seen facepalming and shaking his head. "YOU ARE ALL DOING IT WRONG! LET ME HANDLE THIS!" He said. So, the lone Alpha Droid rearranges all of the boxes within the trunk and backseats with ease. Once he was done, the droid closed all the doors and the trunk, "FINISHED!"

Zander was impressed with the one Alpha Droid. "Huh, that little guy has quite the brains for an Alpha Droid." He says.

"That droid is pretty special, even Dr. Z was surprised how well he articulates," commented Helga, "I think you should bring him with, he'll do better with you than stay here. Who knows, he might just be a valuable asset."

Zander agrees, "I believe so, too," He points to the droid, "You there, Alpha Droid." The droid walks up and salutes, "DROID!"

"I'll be taking you with me, I could use your brains where I'm going."

The Alpha Droid was surprised, "REALLY?"

"Yes. So, what do you say?"

A happy face slowly crept on the droid's face, "YES, ALPHA DROID EXCITED TO GO!" The droid then makes his way to the passenger side on the aircraft and hops inside. Meanwhile, Zander gives Helga a hug before he goes, "Goodbye, Helga. Hopefully, I'll get to see you again."

"Good luck out there, Zander," said Helga, "I'll make sure to keep your absence a secret."

"Much appreciated." Zander walks over to the aircraft as he waves goodbye to the maid. He hops inside, he and the Alpha Droid buckled themselves in for the ride. He asks the Alpha Droid, "Ready?"

"READY!"

Zander started up the engines and aligned the aircraft as the doors to the hangar slowly opened up. Once everything was aligned, Zander slams on the gas and takes off from the hangar. Helga is seen giving a peace sign as the rest of the Alpha Droids salute.

Once the two were on their way to Sanjo City. The Alpha Droid asked Zander, "WILL I STILL BE CALLED AN ALPHA DROID?"

"Hmm, that's a good question." Zander ponders the Alpha Droids question before coming up with his answer, "I think we should rename you, just to be on the safe side of things."

"THEN WHAT SHALL I BE CALLED?"

"Are you not comfortable choosing your own name?"

"I WAS NEVER GIVEN PERMISSION TO THINK FOR MYSELF!"

"Well then, I give you that permission. You can think independently like anyone should."

"OKAY!" The Alpha Droid starts to think of a name that he could give to himself. After some time, he says, "I WOULD LIKE TO BE REFERRED AS DROID! I'VE ALWAYS BEEN CALLED A DROID, AND I LIKE IT!"

"Very well, you'll now be known as Droid," Zander declares. Droid smiled as he settled into his seat, for he and Zander still have over 4,000 miles to go to reach Sanjo City. But it was all worth it to them. As they sailed through the nighttime sky, they could feel the start of their new lives beginning.

Me: Much better, what did you think Droid?

Droid: DROID THOUGHT THIS WAS GOOD! (gives a thumbs up)

Me: Well, that's good. So like I said, not a whole lot changed but there were some changes. First, I added Zoe comforting Reese after her phone call with Zander. I just felt like Zoe could've heard Reese crying and help comfort her in the original story. It's so much potential for sweet moments like this between these two. Secondly, I wanted to add to Droid's character a bit by making him smarter than the rest of his Alpha Droid brothers. Just to show that he was not like any ordinary Alpha Droid. But that was it for changes, and I'm proud of making them. Next time, we'll see Zander and Droid making it to Sanjo City and Zander will meet Dr. Drake and Mrs. Drake for the first time.
