As always, I do not own either Ben 10 or My Hero Academia
Well, here's the new chapter 7! Like I said at an earlier point, I felt bringing in Azmuth this early was too fast, even with how different things here are compared to the Ben 10 Universe. On top of that, the original plan for this chapter was for Izuku to stand in a UN hearing, but I just couldn't make it work. So, I just decided to take a step back and adjust the pacing.
Just so you know, Chapters 5 and 6 have been tweaked beforehand, so I recommend you read them first, especially 6.
I hope this chapter suits you all!
(Old Reviews)
rmarcano321: Thanks! I have some original villains in mind.
KingJGamer: Thanks for the heads up!
X: Just you wait.
Xenomorph Slayer: I'm not sure, Vulpimancers are a sapient species and, technically, aren't animals.
Amit Barabi: Thanks! I'm already planning a rewrite of Chapter 6 and edits to the others. Also, I'm surprised that someone could see that I based how I write the flashbacks of Arrow's!
Gamelover41592: Thank you!
foxchick1: You will!
CCSakuraforever: ¡Gracias! El siguiente capítulo de flashback debería estar justo después de esto.
Guest: Indeed they do.
Magi: Obviously XLR8.
Piccolo: I already have plans for Upchuck, but he's going to be sort of a fusion between his Perk and Murk designs.
Alexis: Gracias! solo espera el resto!
DinoBot: Just you wait and see. It's a character who debuted in Omniverse.
nicklas upachak: It has already been decided, but thanks for your input.
SuperMegaNerd2: Thanks for your support!
Wizardwolf 1020: Yup, you can find out this kind of stuff on the BNHA wiki.

Amit Barabi: Thanks for your review!
Dinobot: Unfortunately, no. I hope you enjoy it otherwise though.
Guest 1: Oh yeah, that's been changed to a few "acquaintances".
I'm Hellboy: Haven't thought about dinosaurs with alien DNA yet, only just animals. That's a nice idea!
Magi: Sorry, but Fuyumi's still a teacher here like in canon.
Gamelover41592: Thanks!
Guillaum Grignar: Thanks for the support and review! As for Gax, you'd just have to wait!
Guest 2: Well, I did. Thanks for waiting.
KuriMaster13: It was a stroke of genius on my part. There's gonna be a lot more from where that came from. Judging by your name, did you get it from Kuriboh?
The Real Meal: Hi!
helrio uzugaku: This has to be the best review I've ever received! Thank you for the time you took to write it! I made this Izuku a more skilled MC like you wrote to give readers something different. We've seen stories that give Izuku the Omnitrix in this crossover section many, many times. Of course, I know it makes him something of an relatable underdog, but that act's getting tired. As for an origin story, don't you worry. Not only will there be flashbacks as you have seen, but I shall also post side stories that dwell into this universe and its characters.
Gamelover41592: Izuku and co. have stranger days ahead.
shriramasokan: I understand your points, and thanks for the praise.
danizulu59: Why thank you!
boy: I'm not sure actually, it just came in mind when I was writing it. I'm sure some automobile companies still exist in BNHA.
Guest: I do agree with most of your ships, but there will be no polycules in this story as of this writing

Chapter 7: Aftermath
OOOOOOOOOO
"Excuse me, a cadet?"
Chuckling at Izuku's perplexed expression, Tenko quickly stifled it as he started to explain.
"Well, more of a deputy. To put it in terms you'll understand better, you'd be like a hero intern at an agency. We, the mentors, will be looking after you, the intern. Then again, from what I've heard, you've good at plenty of stuff, aren't you, Midoriya?"
"He's aware of what I'm capable of? Of course, if my Mom is really his boss, this man would be told anything she knew about me. The question is how much," thought Izuku as he prevented a grimace from appearing.
"Okay, but my guess is that it's not just because of my skills that you want me to join these 'Plumbers'."
"…Nothing gets past you, doesn't it?" quizzed the lieutenant, sighing as he did so. "Listen, we weren't given much of a choice by the bigwigs. They-"
The door to the room beside them slammed open, startling the two men as they looked over to see Izumi Midoriya storm out of the room, followed by Jun with worry plastered on his face.
"Izumi, are you okay? I get that it's a shock but-" The hand he was about to place on her shoulder was shook aside as the girl turned around.
"Am I okay?" asked Izumi in disbelief. "I just found out that my own mother has been keeping secrets as large as Bakugo's ego and you'd think I'd be okay?!"
Once she finished, the girl took a deep breath and sighed. "I'm sorry for snapping, Jun. It's just that… how could she?"
Just then, the remaining occupants of the room walked out. Ochaco trailed behind Inko, the former looking at Izuku with a small but visible smile.
"Hi, Deku. Didn't expect to see me like this, eh?"
"… I heard you had quite an experience in Undertown, Uraraka."
The awkward silence that followed was broken by a cough from Inko, drawing the eyes from her children in particular. "Izuku, Izumi, sorry about this, but for what I'll need to discuss with you two, Ishii and Uraraka need to leave."
Izumi and the aforementioned duo looked up in surprise. "You two are civilians, so technically, you can't be here for long."
"Hang on, what about Izumi?" asked Ochaco.
"She's my daughter and for what I'm about to say, it pertains to our family."
"Hey, hang on," interrupted Izumi with a frown. "First, you hide all of this from us. Now, you want to kick out our friends?! They knew about aliens before the news broke two days ago!"
Inko sighed as she began to plead with her uncharacteristically irritated daughter. "I understand you're angry with me for hiding a great deal of my life, but I-"
"What gave that away, Mom? My voice? Or through some other secret trick you learnt in Plumber training!?" The girl's hands began to emit a ferocious pink glow, as did her eyes.
"Izumi, that's enough." Izuku's stern voice, along with his hand on his sister's shoulder, destroyed the building tension.
"What? Aren't you even a little mad, 'Zuku?!"
Giving a scoff in reply, Izuku shook his head. "I've been thinking about it, and I am miffed," said the teen as his eyes rolled towards his mother, who was still stunned from Izumi's outburst. "However, it does explain a few things. Remember when I first showed you the Omnitrix?"
OOOOOOOOOO
As soon as Izuku showed his mother the mysterious watch on his wrist when she came to pick him up from school, she immediately grabbed his wrist and, at surprising speed for her width, dragged him to the car and sped home.
To say that the 10-year-old was puzzled would be an understatement. Sure, his mother could be overprotective now and then, but bringing him home without another word was over the top if you asked Izuku.
"''Zuku?" Izuku looked over to see his little sister, Izumi, walk towards him. "Why did mommy call me here? Am I in trouble?"
Izuku allowed the smaller greenette on the sofa and wrapped a comforting hand around her. "It's not you, Izumi. It's p-probably because of t-this," said the child as he raised his left wrist, allowing his sister to look over it with awe in her eyes.
"Cool..."
"Izuku, Izumi."
At the sound of their names, the two children quickly raised their heads and saw their mother, having finished with a phone call, approach them. Once Inko settled herself on their sofa, she took several deep breaths, adding to the suspense, before finally speaking. "Now, don't worth. Neither of you are in trouble, i just want to know where you found that... watch."
Feeling a tinge of relief, Izuku then told his mother every single detail, how the watch's pod changed direction towards him, how it jumped on his wrist and his transformation into that firet being. He even took the pod which contained the watch's from his bag to show his mother, who immediately took it from his hands and placed it on the table. With each word, the child could see his sister getting more and more excited at the idea of her brother having powers. In contrast, his mother's expression change from worried to pensive. Inko then let out a deep sigh.
"So, have you transformed into... anything else?"
Izuku, nervously fidgeting with his hands, replied, "N-not at all, Mom." After he had detransformed in the forest, the child didn't even think of activating the watch again. There was no telling what-
"Lemme see, 'Zuku!"
Taking both her brother and mother by surprise, Izumi latched onto the former's arm and, before either Izuku or Inko could stop her, activated the dial and slammed it down without even looking at the choice presented. The only thing Inko could do was close her eyes like her daughter did as a flash of green flooded their vision.
Once it cleared, the two females opened their eyes and saw a tall humanoid plant-like being where Izuku once sat. The transformed child stood up in shock, releasing a yelp as he took in his new form, even tracing his new fingers over his single eye.
Izumi, now hanging from her brother's long green arm, giggled as she swung. "Cool! You have a Quirk now, 'Zuku!"
Inko stood up abruptly in response, a stern expression on her face. "Izumi, enough!"
The girl turned her head to her mother, giving her a pout as she did so. "Sorry..." muttered the girl as she released her grip on the arm, landing softly on the sofa.
"Besides, it isn't a Quirk, he's now an alien."
The two children, hearing the odd statement, turned to look at their mother and tilted their heads quizzically.
"... I mean, from what Izuku said, it fell from the sky, so what else could it be?"
The Present
"Looking back on it, I should've known something was up."
Tenko Shimura, upon hearing the teen, nodded . "Yeah, I guess that would've tipped anyone off. Then again, you were just a kid."
"Also, Izumi?" The girl perked up. "If it will mark you feel better, Mom could allow Uraraka and Ishii to stay. I'm sure they can keep a secret or two, they've kept mine after all."
The magister held her chin as she considered this option. Seeing an opportunity, Izumi spoke up.
"You do know me and 'Zuku will tell them afterwards whether or not they're here, right?"
Finally relenting with a sigh, Inko nodded her head. "Very well, if you two are sure they can be trusted, I'll allow it."
Jun pumped his fist as Ochaco gave her vigilante friend a smile. To her pleasant surprise, Izuku gave a small, soft smile in return.
"Now then, since everyone here will be in the loop," said Inko with a swivel of her body. "Please follow me."
OOOOOOOOOO
While Izuku hid it well, he was more than "miffed" about mother's revelation. It certainly didn't help his mood over the past two days. First, his anonymity was destroyed by the mysterious Chrono Spanner, someone Izuku wasn't quite sure if he could trust, and had to fight several times, from the slime villain to Rojo's gang.
"Now that I think about it, where was she able to acquire her armour and bikes? Last I checked she didn't have much funds in her accounts, so either she stole her equipment or she was supplied. It may be possible-"
In his muttering, the group following Inko, along with several human and alien Plumbers passing by, couldn't help but stare.
Eventually, as the group found themselves in the open area with a large screen above a similarly sized keyboard at one end. Ochaco gave Izuku a light nudge, freeing him from his mutttering as he took in his surroundings.
Inko and Tenko then headed towards the large computer, the former keying in commands on the keyboard while her lieutenant clasped his hands together.
"Alright, kids, who's ready for a crash course on Plumber history?"
Getting blank stares and shrugs in response, Tenko dramatically sighed as the screen burst to life, the symbol of the Omnitrix present on the screensaver.
"That was fast," said Izuku as he rolled his eyes and held up the watch. "You're going for brand synergy already?"
The teen's sarcastic statement not only drew a chuckle or two from his friends, but also smirks from Tenko and even Inko, albeit hidden.
"Funny, kid, but you should know that this symbol is older than this entire facility and everyone in it."
"Shimura's right," said Inko as she brought several images out of a folder on screen. "As you can see, the earth-based Plumbers have been around for centuries."
Izumi took a step closer to the screen, her eyes widening as they hovered over a familiar American man in a powdered wig standing alongside similarly attired men. "Wait a second, that's… eh…."
"George Washington, Izumi," clarified Jun. "That guy's the first U.S. President. Mrs. Midoriya, was he the founder?"
Inko looked back at the preteen and nodded in the positive. "You're partially correct, Ishii. Washington, alongside Benjamin Franklin, created the Earth Plumbers in 1700s to 'plug any leaks' in normal human society."
Ochaco suddenly piped up. "Hold on, that's why you're called the Plumbers?"
"Yes, and why for years, my cover occupation was the manager of a plumbing business."
"So, does that mean every plumber in the city is actually a space cop?"
"No, some are actual plumbers who deal with sinks, toilets and other stuff," answered Tenko with a wave of his hand. "We're way cooler- hang on, Midoriya?"
Following a confused Plumber's line of sight, everyone other than Izuku saw the teen write vigorously in a journal that seemingly appeared out of nowhere. The greenette looked up and rolled his eyes in response to the gazes. "Please, this isn't the first time you've seen me do this, except you, Shimura."
"…Anyway, back to it. Eventually, the earth-based organization met with representatives with a larger intergalactic version and joined them under the command of the Magistrata…" As Inko continued to talk, she began making more images appeared on the screen. To the teens' surprise, these showed a uniformed human plumber shaking hands with various alien, most notably a small frog-like alien that looked like an older version of…
"Grey Matter?" Aside from Izuku, the teens' eyes were as wide as plates. However, the former did perk up upon seeing this.
"Um, is there some time travel nonsense-'
"What?!" exclaimed Inko as she turned around completely to face her daughter. "Izumi, there's no time traveling involved here. That's a Galvan, which is the name of the species, and a very special one at that."
Inko then gestured towards the Omnitrix, her son clutching it instinctively. "This particular Galvan is Azmuth, is the creator of the Omnitrix."
It was this statement that finally shook Izuku. He took several quick steps forward towards his mother's side, staring closely at the small alien's image.
"Can you contact him? If he really is the creator, than I have several matters to discuss with him."
To his dismay, Inko's reply quickly crushed any sense of curiousity her son had. "Sorry, Izuku, but Azmuth disappeared nearly a decade ago. No one has seen him since."
Sighing, Izuku shook his head. "Well, another disappointment. Nothing new. Might as well ask other questions."
"Mom, I never actually told you the Omnitrix's name. Did you learn of it from this… Azmuth himself or some other source?"
"Actually, this info came from a mission given to me and your Hisashi. We had to protect Azmuth-"
"Wait, Dad!?"
Forgotten until that moment, Izumi brushed aside Ochaco and Jun, her anger towards her mother reignited, and stomped towards her mother.
"Wasn't he supposed to be working overseas? Or was that another lie, Mom?" Izumi's stern questions took both her mother and brother aback, especially so for the former. As Inko looked downwards, Izuku saw her clench a fist and her face harden. "Signs of anger, or grief? But for now…"
"I have to agree with Izumi on this," said the elder sibling with his arms folded. "If our father is a Plumber like you, then, it'll be good for us to know more about what his position and what he can do for us."
"And why we hasn't taken any time to see us, even in fricking video calls! Right, 'Zuku?"
"Uh… that too," said Izuku, despite thinking otherwise. "I barely have any memories of the man, I couldn't care less about seeing him."
Both of her children's hard gazes broke Inko's silence. She took a deep breath, one after another, until she spoke after ten seconds.
"Izuku, Izumi, your father is gone."
This statement drew soft gasps from Ochaco and Jun, a surprised blink from Izuku and a empathetic look on Tenko's face.
"So what?" asked Izumi exasperatedly. "Did you two get divorced? Is this a separation sort of thing-"
Izuku interrupted his sister's questions with a sigh as he punched the bridge of his nose.
"What's wrong, 'Zuku? They're legitimate questions."
"Izumi, she means that he's dead."
The girl froze, taking in a deep breath as she slowly turned her head to her mother who seemed to be on the verge of tears. As furious Izumi was with Inko, she still realised she almost went too far (and she didn't want the place to get flooded). "Sorry, that may have been too much…."
Inko wiped away tears on the edge of her eyelids. "Truth be told, Hisashi went missing-in-action, but its been twelve years…"
Her lieutenant laid a comforting hand on her back, allowing Inko to walk away to the side and get her emotions in check. Ochaco and Jun took only a second to follow her and offer their condolences. On the other hand, Izumi could only stand in place awkwardly, regretful at bringing up old wounds for her mother despite the tension between them
"Sorry about that," said Tenko. "I joined the force after Mr. Midoriya disappeared, the Magister still misses him."
Izuku cleared his throat. "Well, assuming it isn't too insensitive to ask, how did our father go missing?"
"Well, kid, it happened around 12 years ago," said Tenko as he sat down in front of the computer. Typing on the keyboard, the previous images were pushed aside to make way for new ones.
The Midoriya siblings leaned in as they saw a younger, slimmer version of their mother along with a strong-chinned man with white hair right beside her in the pictures. Both of them were wearing Plumber uniforms and stood as straight as a ruiler.
"Like your mom mentioned earlier, they were assigned to protect Azmuth from an intergalactic warlord who desire to use the Omnitrix for conquest." Tenko then brought the cursor over to another file and clicked. Izumi gasped and Izuku narrowed his eyes as the new image showed a alien who's appearance just radiated malice.
The being's head looked like something out of Lovecraft's works, with pale green tentacles in the formation of a beard on his face, sharp crimson eyes above them with no visible nose or ears and green sacs where his sideburns should be. He wore a black and maroon spiked, armoured suit at the shoulder and arm pads.
"This bastard's name was Vilgax, and it's thanks to your mom and dad that he's dead."
Hearing that, Izumi snapped out of her trance. "Woah, Mom and Dad took down this guy!? He looks like he could benchpress All Might!"
Letting out a few chuckles, Tenko shook his head. "Really? From what I've read, Vilgax was tough, but not that much. Anyway, your dad sacrificed himself by ramming his ship into squidface head on while your mom lead a team to protect the bystanders caught in the battle."
"Wait, he crashed into this 'Vilgax' head on and and listed as missing-in-action?" asked Izuku in disbelief. "He only has a fire breathing Quirk form what I know, so shouldn't he be dead for certain?"
"N-not quite, Izuku," said a voice that brought the trio's attention to a sniffling but relatively intact Inko Midoriya, flanked by Ochaco and Jun who gave them thumbs-up. "Hisashi had a knack for getting out a trouble in one way or another, that time I t-thought.."
The brunette by her side patted her shoulder. "Take it easy, Mrs. Midoriya. This has got to be hard to remember."
"On a brighter note," interjected Tenko. "It was because of her leadership in protecting Azmuth and civilians, along with coordinating the search-and-rescue efforts afterwards that got her promoted to Magister and head of the Musutafu Plumbers."
Izuku and Izumi shared a glance before the former decided to change the subject, even just for the sake of his mother's emotional state.
Taking a deep breath, Izuku spoke. "Okay, Mom, so far I understand that you're the leader of this section of the Plumbers."
Izuku then brought a hand to his chin before continuing. "Assuming that the reveal of my secret and aliens has affected Plumbers around the world, seeing as I've read news about possible alien sightings in other countries, you've been running sone form of damage control over the past few days, haven't you?"
While the adults looked at each before turning to Izuku and nodding, Ochaco and the preteens just stood there, startled at what their friend has just stated.
"Deku, how did you think that all up in just a few hours? I'm still somewhat digesting the fact that your mother's a space cop!"
"Uraraka, you know I've done some detective work in the past, I'm used to it. Now, am I right, Mom?"
Inko simply exhaled a sigh before speaking. "Actually, you're more or less accurate, Izuku. Let me show you all just sone of the problems we've had to manage."
The magister then gently took the reigns to the keyboard from Tenko, bringing up a single link from the web.
Hitchcock Doodle Official Fansite: RIP Hero
Izuku grimaced as he was reminded once again of the hero who had, sadly, been crushed by the robot he fought just the previous day. If he had just reached the attack a minute earlier…
"Izuku, it's not your fault." The teen in question looked and saw his mother wear a soft but firm face towards him. Having a hunch, Izuku turned to his friends who had similar looks.
"Yeah, Senpai, that mech was tough," pointed out Jun. "It one-shotted that new hero, Mt. Lady. You may have stopped more people from getting killed!"
"However, that's not all the bad press coming out," said Inko as she presented more headlines, each one bringing down the mood even more.
Extraterrestrials. No longer fiction? Or global hoax?
Possible secret police funded by U.N.?
Alien monster rampages in Taris District.
Analysts discuss just how hero society can and will be affected.
Mutants or alien? Infiltrating our neighborhoods for what purpose?
Izuku Midoriya. Threat or menace?
It was the younger Midoriya sibling who reacted first to the last headline.
"That's bullshit! 'Zuku's not a villain!"
"Yeah, Deku doesn't deserve this!"
"Girls!" Tenko held his hands up, putting a pause on their shouts. "It's not all bad, check these out! Show them, Mrs. Midoriya?"
"You don't need to remind me, Shimura," said Inko as she scrolled to a lower part of the page, which was significantly more positive despite its smaller size in comparison.
U.N. representatives urge people worldwide to remain calm.
All Might pledges protection to all. "Alien or not, there is no need to fear!"
Izuku Midoriya, a sign of unity between Earth and Space?
"See, guys. It'll be fine, Senpai'll become a Symbol of Galactic Peace or something like that-"
A scoff interrupted Jun's praise, much to not only the boy's surprise, but also to the others when they saw it came from Izuku. "Is that one reason why I was invited to join you all? As a mascot?"
Inko, surprised at her son's slightly bitter tone, quickly began to reassure him. "What?! Izuku, that's not true… for the most part."
"There's more to it?"
Taking a long breath, Inko began to explain. "Like you may have thought already, Japn's vigilantism laws don't quite apply to you, Izuku."
Before anyone could comment, the woman brought up images of, to Izuku's surprise, his gear, such as the gloves he wore to hide his fingerprints, his lock picks, the small weapons pack he made for Grey Matter'ss use and even the 10-Drone. Speaking of which….
Izuku whipped out his smartphone and hurriedly check on the status of the drone. It could have picked up a crime or two that he could've stopped! And here he was wasting his time listening to-
His train of thought stopped when he could see two words on the drone application he made.
Signal lost
"Um, Deku? Are you okay?"
"Where is it?" Izuku's question, combined with his suddenly harsh tone directed at the two Plumbers caught his friends off guard. Meanwhile, his mother remained silent for about five second.
The teen was about to ask again, with more force if required, only for Tenko to reply on Inko's behalf. "Cool your jets, your toy's here with us. Sorry for springing this surprise on you by the way."
"Shimura's right, said Inko as she finally found her voice. "Izuku, while your inventions did aid you, it is still borderline illegal surveillance and infringement of privacy, even when used to spy on villains. However, this was one reason I was able to secure a deal with both the Magistrata and the U.N., along with your other skills."
Before Izuku could get a word in edgewise, Inko continued. "Remember how I would help you learn some tricks and helpful ideas for your work? Believe it or not, some of it came from basic Plumber Training."
"Hang on, so Deku's more or less a space cop cadet? No wonder he knows quite a bit about investigating and those other stuff."
"Wait, Mom," Izuku help up his hand, catching the woman's attention. "You said you secured a deal with the United Nations and the head of the Plumbers. What are the details of this arrangement?"
The magister rubbed her temple, aware of what she needs to say will disappoint her son. "Izuku, first off, the presence of the Omnitrix itself was surprise to me four years ago. Obviously, it's too advanced compared to Earth's current level of technology."
Jun raised his hand just as he would it was school and Inko was a teacher. "Mrs. Midoriya, just how much better is the watch?"
"Well, there is an intergalactic scale for how sophisticated a piece of tech is. Earth currently has a tech level of around 2.5."
Inko then gestured towards the alien device on Izuku's wrist. "The Omnitrix, on the other hand, is level 20."
"What?!" Izumi's shout came after a second of silence, startling Ochaco and Jun beside her. "Something like that which is so much better than anything on Earth, and it's on 'Zuku's wrist?"
Izuku eyed the source of his powers. "Ever since I got it, I knew that it was unlike anything else on the planet. However, I didn't know the exact difference in advancement until now."
"Also, there is one more reason why the fact you have the Omnitrix was a shock," said Inko.
"And what would that reason be?"
"Until you found it, it was missing for years."
Inko then turned back to the computer and, with the click of a mouse, presented a report that had a image of the Omnitrix and the words: Report of disappearance
"Yup, after the big battle with Vilgax, the Omnitrix just went missing from its safe on Galvan Prime, the home of the Galvans."
Once Tenko finished his explanation, Inko nodded in agreement. "The Plumbers and Galvans had no way to track it, especially as mentioned ealier, its creator disappeared along with it."
"Why? Was he kidnapped?"
"No, Izuku. There was a note left behind by Azmuth. In it, he said how he went into hiding, claiming that he won't risk any other scientific discoveries made by him be used for warfare and the like. Without him, there was no way anyone else could track down the Omnitrix. It seemed lost until it fell in front of you four years ago."
Izuku released an unconscious hold on the device in question as a few thoughts came into mind. "Well, given how it seems so important, I'm guessing the watch's reappearance has made some proper nervous?"
"To put it simply, yes, especially so when you began using it to perform vigilantism. Let's say that having you run around for nearly five years with slight Plumber supervision took practically all of my influence to convince someone very important people to let it slide. Add the reveal of extraterrestrial life, and it's chaos out there."
"So, I suppose these important people want a scapegoat," interrupted Izuku bitterly. "And who better than the borderline criminal that I am."
"Izuku, please…."
"And what was that about 'slight Plumber supervision'?"
Hearing the change in tone, Inko's eyes hardened. "Izuku, you're my son. Do you honestly I wouldn't make sure you were safe out there?"
"It didn't matter, I chose to save others, no matter the cost."
"That doesn't change anything!"
exclaimed Inko as she stood up and placed her hands on Izuku's shoulders. "I have some idea on what you've faced again and again, I know you and Izumi don't entirely trust me at this point, but believe me when I say I love you two. I won't lose any of you like Hisashi!"
With Inko's voice full of concern and her on the verge of tears again, Izumi's heat broke. "I shouted her earlier, sure she hid a lot of stuff, but…"
For Ochaco and Jun, however, they were reminded on how their parents would do the same for them. The former could recall her father being overprotective at times, like when she brought Izuku over for the first time.
"Damn it!" Jun's shout drew looks from the Plumbers and Izuku, in addition to the girls at his side. The boy took out his phone from his pocket and saw the time to be 5:30. "My mom's gonna be worried where I am! After that Screegit nonsense earlier, I've got to let her knows I'm fine!"
Hearing him, Ochaco grabbed her head with both hands, careful to lay her pinkies off. "You're right, Ishii! Daddy and Mom were at home today! I hope they're alright!"
Inko raised his hand, her wristwatch indicating how late it was. "Has it been that long? Never mind, Shimura, could you send them back?"
Tenko, who also held phone to check the time, quickly nodded. "Sure thing, ma'am! Alright you two, come with me!"
"H-hold on! What about the whole Plumber stuff?!"
Izumi saved Jun off. "Relax, we'll let you know anything important as soon as we're free. Goodbye, you two!"
Izuku said his goodbyes as well, receiving the same from Ochaco and Jun who were guided by Tenko in the direction of the hanger where his car was. Seeing the three leave, Izuku actually envied them. He was still, in a way, trapped here and unable to take action against any villains in the city.
"Um… Izuku?" With Inko's voice snapping Izuku out of his muttering, his face flushed for a second. He must've said it aloud! "About that, I'm afraid as part of the agreement, you have been barred from interfering with human crimes-"
"What!?" As the teen turned to his mother, the latter could see Izuku wear a scowl along with angry eyes. "But Japan's laws about vigilantes don't quite apply to me."
"Well, it wasn't just from the government," said Inko, still taken aback by her son's outburst. "The World Heroes Association and some members of the United Nations have made these demands as well. They say you're a walking mockery of the anti-vigilante laws not just in Japan, but around the world as well.
"What about the Magistrata or whoever else you answer to!?"
"I'm sorry, but they have no say over Earth laws."
Izuku gritted his teeth, he was already limited in the reach of his actions to Misutafu! "With this, how many people could get hurt!? How many could die!?
"Calm down, I knew you're far from pleased with this, but it was one of the only things that i had to agree to in order to prevent worse from happening. Trust me, you don't want to know what else could have happened."
Inko continued to talk, slightly cooling Izuku off. "Also, it's not as much as a restriction as you think. I've managed to argue for allowing you to use the Omnitrix in self-defence."
"Self-defence? Is that it?"
"Not quite, remember how the deal involved you joining the Plumbers?" Izuku nodded, his sister behind him ready to support his choices. "Some of what I've told and will tell you will be announced at a press conference planned for tomorrow, but the Plumbers are in charge are handling extraterrestrial-related crimes, including using alien weapons that don't belong on Earth."
Izumi watched as her brother held his chin, gears turning in his head. "And given how people are aware of their presence, criminals would seek out alien tech to help themselves. Sooner or later, some will acquire it."
"Exactly," nodded Inko, proud of her son for his deductions. "Don't forget about Undertown, it's also technically under our jurisdiction."
"You know about it?"
"Of course! I'm the head of the Plumbers here," said Inko as her children digested this. "So don't worry, you can still save people, albeit under the eye of the Plumbers, but it's still possible."
After that, Inko raised an arm and gestured to a hallway to the side. "If you're interested in this offer, I'll give you and Izumi are tour of our facilities and tell you more details about the deal."
Taking it in, Izuku considered his options. He knew his work has attracted some overseas interest, but against international law organisations such as the WHA, the teen knew he was outmatched. The HPSC in Japan was already a headache for him.
Logically, Izuku knew this was the best possible route that didn't involve going rogue. If he decided to just run away and be a vigilante full-time, he may have the Plumbers on his tail in addition to the authorities. Given the technology he'd seen around the base so far, it's more than likely that he wouldn't last a week out there alone. Plus, the deal would still enable him to help others.
Turning his head to see Izumi offer a supportive smile, Izuku couldn't help but feel grateful for his sister having his back. Taking in a deep breath and exhaling it, the greenette looks at his mother and nodded.
"Why not? It sure beats the alternatives."
OOOOOOOOO
Notes:
1. Sorry if this chapter seemed a little info-dumpy. It's just that some of the stuff here will sets up some of the background of the story, which is different even from Ben 10 canon, and relatively more importantly events later on in the story.
2. After this, I'll try to make an attempt to push out chapters more regularly. I've got more free time during the holidays.
3. As mentioned in an earlier chapter, there is DFO. Guess what he did during between the battle with Vilgax twelve years ago and his death six years ago.
Next Time on My Hero Academia: Hero Time
"Izuku, remember the day after your quirkless assessment?" As they walked towards the labs, the teen saw his mother's eyes get misty. "I just cried and apologised when you ask whether you could be a hero. The help I've given to you after you got the Omnitrix was a way in which I've tried to make up for it. I know I haven't actually said it, but-"
BOOM!
A burst of smoke and heat from a door a few metres away disrupted Inko's statementand making the two jump. With the Plumber muttering a few curses (much to Izuku's slight surprise), Inko marched towards the source.
"Blukic, Driba! What the hell happened this time?!"
"Uraraka, I understand how you feel," said Izuku as he sat beside his friend. "I've made many mistakes during my early years."
This time, Ochaco finally looked up towards her friend and saw Izuku close his eyes in sadness and whisper, "there was so many people I could've saved if not for my incompetence then…"
