Eyes blinking open, Mordin Solus turned his head taking in his surroundings. Glancing down he took note of the old fashioned leather straps holding him down, he shook his head.
'Disappointing.' He thought.
He rotated his wrist and began to type commands into his omni-tool. A plasma ball pressed into the leather and began to burn through it. Once the leather burned away he stood from the table. His body felt stiff as if he'd been laying there for several days. Taking notice of a cotton swab at the crook of his elbow. Muttering to himself Mordin searched the room and found his pistol. Turning to the monitor he began to hack into the Cerberus network. Once he was in he began to systematically turn the lights off along with any security measures and cameras. Then he went digging through their servers looking for information and froze when he saw the words "Salarian Hybrids". Narrowing his eyes his mind flashed to the Turian hybrids and the Quarian hybrid Jasmine. He began to fear children had been experimented on again using salarian DNA.
Taking note of the location he began erasing everything Cerberus had on him and the hybrids. While the programs erased he silently made his way from the room. Moving through the darkened corridor he managed to avoid Cerberus troopers. He entered the room the hybrids were held in and noted that they were under heavy guard…..
'Concerned keeping hybrids contained. Never accounted for outside trouble.'
Managing to slip behind the guards he slid a syringe into each of their necks in the gap in their armor. Once they both hit the ground he turned to the door and opened it. Upon entering the room Mordin froze in horror. There floating in two tanks were infants. One a salarian the other a human.
Mordin made his way to the tanks slowly and began to drain them. He ran a program on his omni-tool to download all the relevant data on the hybrids and got blankets to wrap them in. Luckily the draining of the tanks didn't wake them. Silently he wrapped them in the blankets and made a sling out of a third and he set both of them in the sling. He was lucky they were both still so small. Once the data finished downloading he left and made his way out of the base. Safely outside Mordin sent a signal to his STG unit. He hid in the forest and read the data he'd downloaded before he left. When he reached the section regarding their DNA he froze. There on the screen in bold letters was his own name…. Reading further he discovered the twin's names. Morika and Morlan or as Cerberus dubbed them subjects 10 and 11.
He vowed silently from that moment on he'd do everything in his power to protect them. After all, someone else may get it wrong.
