Marcy and the Frogs

Chapter 2: Best Fronds

During that time at the public library in Los Angeles, most students are visiting library to check out some books to read. The only kid who is reading many books is actually Marcy, she looks very clean from the beginning. Marcy recently visits library during school for her free time incase her friends are busy. She doesn't mind hanging out alone in the library.

But then, her phone goes off with a vibrate when Marcy set the book from reading. She looks at the text from one of her head that says ""Stop reading ya nerd" "IT'S ANNE'S BDAY!" "MEET US DOWNTOWN". Marcy quickly realized that it was her best friends birthday.

"Anne's birthday! I almost forgot!"

Marcy is standing up from the table to pack up her things, but then suddenly when a librarian past by rolling down the cart that carried books, but one book falls off when Marcy took noticed.

"Uh, excuse me ma'am, you dropped your... book?"

Marcy looked at the book says "Dr. P's Extraordinary Guide To Magic & Mystery" and open the book to flipping through the pages. She stopped at the pages of a gargoyle and a triangular being with one eye. Marcy was impressed by seeing the pages. Then she flipped the pages again until she stopped flipping and see the next page where it shows the music box before she looks stunning.

""Woah! Calamity Box? Travel to other worlds?"

Marcy reads carefully about the music box. She know a lot more about magic, but this is different. The way she looks at it, she started to wonder how the box works. Could this be real if it's possible? But instead, she just shrugged.

"Hah! Goofy stuff. Cool artwork, though."

She use her phone to take a picture from the page, but suddenly she got a text from her older brother that says "Hey, sis. Come outside. I got some good news!" then she smiles curious.

"Huh, wonder what this is all about. Oh, guess I'll head home before meeting up with the girls."

Marcy set the book down at the table and she walks off towards the exit, leaving the book where it once left alone. Once she exits through the entrance, she sees her brother parked inside of his silver car. Marcy smiles as she walk towards to the car and got inside up front.

Just like her, he's wearing the same jacket that Marcy is wearing, but the emblem has "SJHS" on it. He's wearing blue jeans with a patch on his left knee, white socks, and his green tennis shoes. He also has black hair on top and has buzzcut in each sides. He turn his head at his little sister when she enters.

"Hey, sis."

"Hi, Eddie. What's up?" Marcy asked.

"Thought I could stop by to pick up my favorite little sister." replied Eddie.

"Aw, thanks. So, what's the good news?"

"Alright, when we get home, can you promise me not to spread a single word?"

"Why, of course. I'm always good at keeping secrets."

Eddie nodded. He shifted the pedal, then he droves away from the library before he began his little chat.

"Marcy, I have a few word with the principal."

"What did he say?" Marcy asked.

"Well, he says that I'm really good at debating, despite that I'm his top A-Grade student."

"Like you're better than me?"

"I wouldn't say better than you, but the point is when we discuss about the plan by the end of summer."

"What do you mean."

While she's waiting for an answer, Eddie slows down his car when the light turns red and then he sighs.

"(sigh) I'm going over to the college."

Marcy blinked her eyes. Eddie was hoping if she's happy or sad, but couldn't tell what her reaction is before he continue his sentence.

"It's not really far from home, but it's somewhere in L.A. and that's not all. With yours and my permission to the principals, how would you like to go to college with me?"

Then suddenly, Marcy slowly gasp, and then she formed her smile, a very wide open.

"WHAAAAAA?!"

"(chuckled) Surprise?" Eddie nervously chuckles.

Marcy happily reaches her arms around her brother while laughing until she let go of her embrace.

"Are serious?! For real?! We're going to college together?!" Marcy happily asked.

"Yep! Just you, me, and of course Bailey, who very much like to go to college." Eddie answered.

"I can't believe it? I'm actually going to college with you! Just like when we were little!"

"Yeah, just like we used to be."

Marcy noticed that look. She reach her arm to pat on his shoulder.

"Hey, don't worry. Our late parents will be proud of us." said Marcy softly.

Eddie formed his small smile.

"Yeah, they sure do."

Then suddenly, she felt her phone is getting vibrate. She took out her phone with a text from her friend saying "WHERE ARE YOU?!". Marcy totally forgot about the plan, but she doesn't know when to text her back. Eddie noticed that too.

"Was that Sasha?" Eddie asked curious.

"Oh, yeah. I forgot to tell you that today is Anne's birthday." Marcy answered.

"Huh. I remember what Anne told us a few days ago. What do you have in mind?"

Marcy hasn't thought about it at first, but then when it came to her idea.

"I got an idea. Why don't we go for shopping a bit, just to get Anne's birthday gift before I meet up with them." Marcy suggested.

"Alright, sounds fair. After we go shopping, we need to head back home and pick up something for the party that Anne's parents are planning. Are you up for it?"

Marcy smiled when she likes the sound of the that.

"I'm in."

"Great! Then let's go shopping!"

"Woo hoo!"

Once the red light turning green, Eddie drove the car through the streets as they're on their way to shopping before we flash into light.

Then suddenly, Marcy jolted up when fully awake, thinking that it was all just a dream.

"(gasp) Guys! I had this crazy dream last night! It's-"

She pause her sentence when she realize that she was looking at Hop Pop and Sprig standing by Polly in her bucket. They were staring at her when confused before Hop Pop croaked. Once Marcy looks around the basement, then she realize that it wasn't just a dream. It was all real.

"Oh. Right. It wasn't a dream."

"Morning, Marcy. How'd you sleep well?" Sprig asked kindly.

"Hmm? Oh, it was right." Then suddenly, she noticed that there was a huge circle made out of salt, all around here with the mattress she was sleeping. "Uh, what's all this?"

"Oh! Uh... it's uh... Plantars family tradition as we welcome you to our humble home. If you step over, we'll give you something to eat." Hop Pop nervously answered.

Marcy raised her eyebrows. She kinda knew what the salt was back on Earth. There were stories of salt being a symbol of purity evil spirits like witches or demons, supposedly couldn't pass over it. Once she stands up from the mattress, she steps over the salt with her bare feet under her white socks. Hop Pop realize when nothing happened. Sprig formed his smiles.

"See? I told you she's not a spirit." said Sprig.

"We I'll be darned. You were right! She's an odd creature after all!" Hop Pop smiles at his grandson.

"Wait, is that what you've been doing?" Marcy asked.

"Well, after the fire you put up a spell against the mantis, but I realize that you didn't cast a spell. How in the world did you used up all that?" Hop Pop asked curious while holding the book of supernatural.

"Oh, it wasn't that easy. You see, when I saw the the torch lying on the ground, then it really hit me that I have a hairspray in my backpack because these might catch fire if used around an open flame, hot surface, or other source of ignition by spraying it." Marcy answered.

Hop Pop was fully dumbfounded. Sprig was really impressed, but Polly looked disappointed at first.

"Ooh! How does this work?" Hop Pop asked

"Trust me. You don't want to play with the fire. It's extremally dangerous." Marcy answered.

"Well, looks like you just read my language. Up and at 'em. Breakfast is almost ready."

Hop Pop walk upstairs to prepare his breakfast leaving Sprig and Polly.

"So, let me get this straight. You're not a spirit?" Polly asked.

"No, not really." Marcy answered politely.

"So disappointing."

Polly use her bucket to hop upstairs to have breakfast, leaving only Marcy and Sprig alone in the basement.

"What's up with her?" Marcy curiously asked.

"Oh, you'll get used it. Polly was much more mature than I am. I mean, she really got into some violence and all kind of dangerous stuff." replied Sprig.

"Huh. Well how about that."

"So, you must be so excited to be trapped in another world. Very jealous."

"Oh, definitely! When I woke up on my first day, I was in the middle of the forest and it looks amazing! The trees and mushrooms were huge, creatures like animals that I've been studying, and lots of place where I discovered!" Marcy smiles.

"Cool! I've always wanted to go out for adventure!" replied Sprig.

"Yeah! It's what I've been dreamed of to be with my friends!"

Then Marcy slowly dropped her smile when she realized it. Sprig noticed that look on her face.

"What's wrong?" Sprig asked.

"Oh, it's nothing. It's just..."

Marcy paused for a moment. She reach into her pocket to pull something out which it turns out to be a photo of her with her closest friends. She formed a small sad when she sighed.

"I really like it here, but I missed my home, my family, and... my friends. Without my friends, I would be all alone, just like when I was a baby."

Sprig gently took the photo from Marcy and he exam the photo of Marcy with best friends. Marcy stood next to a girl that has blonde hair, who is also next to a girl with dark tanned skin and bushy brown hair. Sprig has no idea how Marcy is sad for all of sudden. But then, he formed a smile just to cheer her up.

"Well, then, why don't I be your friend in the meantime?"

Marcy perked up when she smiles.

"Really?"

"Yeah! So that way, you don't have to be alone anymore. Just you and me. What do you say, partner? Friends?"

Sprig offered his hand to Marcy. The way she looks at his hand, then she smiles very warmly and accept the offer. If she made some new friends like Sprig, she won't be alone anymore.

"Sure! I would love to be your friend"

Marcy shake her left hand with Sprig despite that his hand is made of slime, but she doesn't care if her hand was covered in slime.

"Marcy, I believe this is the beginning of our beautiful friendship." said Sprig.

Just then, they heard Hop Pop's hollers.

"C'mon kids! Breakfast time!"

"Coming!" Sprig hollers back.

"So, what's for breakfast?" Marcy asked after gently take her photo back from Sprig.

"We're having pancakes." Sprig answered.

"Pancakes are delicious! They're my favorite!"

"Well, I'm happy to share with you. C'mon! Chow time!"

Sprig ran upstairs to the kitchen. Marcy put on her brown shoes and ran upstairs to join Sprig for breakfast. Hop Pop has already cooked his homemade pancake, but with dark brown spots, resembling chocolate chips when pass it to Polly. When Marcy and Sprig arrived, they sat down at the table when Hop Pop took noticed.

"Perfect timing for breakfast. Now, who wants Chocopede Pancake?"

"We do!" Sprig and Polly said with unison, but Marcy tilted her head.

"Chocopede Pancake?" Marcy asked.

"That's right. Plantars' homemade family recipe." replied Hop Pop.

"It taste like chocolate chip cookies." Sprig added.

"Really?" Marcy smiles.

"Sure! Give it a try! It taste so good."

Hop Pop set the pancakes on a plate and pass it to Marcy. She picked up her silverware when she cuts into small, then she picks up with her folk while the Plantars were staring as they prepared for her reaction while eating their breakfast.

Just then, when Marcy took a small bite on the pancake, her eyes went bolt and brighten with her eyes sparkles. Marcy looks extremally stunning. She has never taste any kind of food like this before. Then she picked up the pieces that she's cutting one by one. The Plantars were quite surprised.

"Mmm! It was so good!" said Marcy with her mouthful.

"Do you like it?" Sprig happily asked.

"Are you kidding? I loved it! It's like my families homemade breakfast!" Marcy answered.

"Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it." said Hop Pop smiling before he eat his pancake.

When Marcy swallows the bite, she picked up a cup to drink, but noticed when she looked inside, there is a juice inside. She took a drink once again and then set the cup down on the table.

"Is that an apple juice?"

"Why, yes. I bought apples from the market." Hop Pop answered.

"Wow! Your breakfast was amazing! I've never taste such food like this! I gotta write this down on my journal."

Marcy pulls out her journal and start writing with her pen at the table. Sprig, Polly, and Hop Pop took their quick glance with their eyes moving. Then Hop Pop broke the silence.

"So, uh... is that a book you were writing down?" Hop Pop asked.

"Oh, it's my journal. I've been writing down for all of my schoolwork, but here in... um... What's the name of this place again?" Marcy asked politely.

"Amphibia."

"Right. Here in Amphibia, it has many things like huge environments and strange creatures."

"So, if you're not a 'spirit', how old are you again?" Hop Pop curious.

"I'm only thirteen years old." Marcy answered.

"Wow! You're way older than me. Even you're taller!" Polly stunned.

"That's what humans do. It's how people change, like me."

"Say, what's a human?" Hop Pop asked.

"Human is a dominant species for over millions of years. They walk like you, talk like you, and eat like you. It's where I come from."

"Uh-huh, and how long have you been here?"

"In about a week."

"A week?! Not on my watch! From now on, there's plenty of room where you can spend the night here in the house." said Sprig.

"Thanks, Sprig."

"No problem. Up top!"

Marcy raise her right hand to give Sprig a high five, but her hand has met when Sprig spit his tongue out at Marcy's hand. She laughs a bit while wiping off her hand.

"Hmm. So you know, there are lot of books that you can borrow in my office. It has a lot histories and documentaries..."

"(gasp) Really?! You have some books?!" Marcy gasp with glee.

"Sure do! You are more welcome to read anytime you like." Hop Pop answered.

"Lame!" Polly commented.

"Where's all the fun in that? What else did you do besides reading some books?" Sprig asked.

"Well, I go over to my friends house to play games, watching movies, hang out at the beach..."

"Oh, we have a lake back there."

"Really?! You went to the lake?" Marcy asked.

"Yeah! It'll be fun!" replied Sprig

"Absolutely not!" said Hop Pop.

"Huh? How come?" Marcy asked curious.

"Look, Marcy. You're too kind, humbling, politely, selfless, and... umm..." Hop Pop pause for a moment.

"intelligence?" Marcy guessed.

"Yes, thank you. Point is, the frogs in this town can be pretty small-minded."

Hop Pop walks over from the kitchen to a window to see a frog passing by his house before waving his hand.

"Howdy, Hopediah!"

Hop Pop ignores the frogs greeting and looks at Marcy.

"And paranoid. We just need to give 'em time to get used to ya. I think it's best you stay put."

"What?! But-" Sprig protest, but Hop Pop cuts him off.

"No buts! You saw what happened last night when folks were spooked by some kind of sorcerery. You're lucky that she's not who I thought she was."

Hop Pop walk over to the door when he use the key to lock it. Sprig groans with disappointed, but Marcy knew that Hop Pop has a point.

"Well, I guess you have a point." said Marcy reluctantly.

"Good, now that settles it. I'm gonna go into my study to get a little reading done and don't do anything nonsense until I'm done."

Hop Pop walk over to his office and close the door.

"Aw, man! It's like were trapped here." Sprig groaned.

"Well, it can't be that bad." said Marcy.

"How can you be so calm?" Sprig exclaimed.

"I don't know. Your grandfather seems like a nice frog."

"Welcome to my life." Polly retorted.

"(sigh) So much for that fun. Ooh! I know what'll be fun. Let's try some of Hop Pop's pain peppers. So hot, they'll make you wish you were dead."

Sprig walks over to the barrel where it has some chilis in it. He picked up a chili before he took a whole and swallows it. Marcy knew what chili pepper is when she realize it.

"Uh, I wouldn't eat that if I were you." said Marcy feeling unease.

"Why? It seems alright to me- AAAH! AAAH! AAAH!"

Sprig screams when his mouth is on fire as smokes coming out from the throat. Polly laugh as she thought it was funny, but Marcy cringed when it hurts. Sprig runs back and forth while waving his arms and tongues swinging around until he walks over to a bucket of water to drink it up and then he's fully relax when its over.

"Someone just kill me, please! Bleh. Your turn."

"No thanks. I'll pass." Marcy politely declined.

"Welp, your loss."

Polly hops out from her bucket and bounce upstairs when both kids notice this.

"Where are you going?" Sprig asked.

"I'm just gonna read." Polly answered.

"What?! I thought you said it was lame?!"

"Well, I change my mind. Now if you'll excuse, I have to read a lot more about evil spirits."

Then Polly bounce upstairs leaving Marcy and Sprig left alone in the kitchen.

"(sigh) So much for going out for adventure." Sprig sighed sadly.

"Too bad we can't go out for fun like my friends and I used to." said Marcy.

But then, Sprig quickly formed his when he got an idea.

"Maybe we can go out for fun right outside."

"What? But Hop Pop said-"

"No, we're not going outside in town. We're going out way over to the valley."

"Oh! Now I get it. You said there was a lake, right?"

"Yep, and I know where it is, but all we need is to get the key from Hop Pop. He must've put it in his pocket."

"Or I could use this."

Marcy pulls out a lock tool from her pocket. Sprig was confused at first, but Marcy walks over to the door and start using a tool to slide into the lock until it clicked. She removes the lock and put away in her pocket skirt. Sprig was surprised.

"Cool! How'd you do that?" Sprig asked stunning.

"I help my dad by fixing the door after he accidentally locked himself out." Marcy answered before she picked her backpack and put it on.

"Huh. That was easy." Sprig remarked.

"So, are you ready for adventure?" Marcy happily asked.

"Oh, definitely!" replied Sprig.

"Then let's go to the lake!"

"Yeah!"

Marcy opens the to let Sprig out and she follows him before closing the door behind him, but what they didn't know is that Hop Pop fell asleep rather doing his work.

Later on, Marcy and Sprig are walking through the forest as they happy to go out for fun rather stayed at home and do nothing. As much as she likes to borrow books from Hop Pop, but she doesn't want to disappoint Sprig for dropping themselves out.

"Thanks for going out with me, Marcy. I'm just glad that were on the same team."

"You're welcome Sprig, and thank you for being my friend." replied Marcy.

"You really mean it?" Sprig smiled.

"Uh-huh, and that reminds me."

She took out her phone to do selfie, but Sprig looks curious.

"What is that?" Sprig asked.

"My iPhone. My dad got this for me on my birthday." Marcy answered.

"So, what does this do?"

"Watch and learn. Say besties!"

"Besties!"

Marcy took a shot on her phone, then she looks at her photo of Sprig and herself smiling. It was her first selfie with Sprig.

"See? This is called selfie. It's where human takes pictures to share their memories." said Marcy.

"I don't know what's crazier, that you just stole my soul in a tiny box, or that we look so incredible. I gotta say, this friend business is amazing!" said Sprig smiling.

"It sure is! Say, didn't you have friends before I showed up?" Marcy asked.

"Uhhh, let's be honest with you. Kids around here don't really get me." Sprig answered.

"How come?"

"Some kids might think I'm just weird or irresponsible."

"Aw, bummer. Now I know how that feel."

"You do?"

"Uh-huh. When I was little, I went to my first grade in kindergarten class. Nobody wants to be my friend, but then when I met my first bestfriend, Anne who likes to befriend with me. She's the only person that I ever had. And then we met Sasha, who shows up to protect me and Anne from these after that, we made some new friends and friends stick to together until the end." Marcy explained her childhood memory.

"Wow. That was... very sweet."

"Aw, thank you."

"No problem."

Just then, they have at the lake when they stop walking.

"Look! We're here!" Sprig pointed his finger.

Marcy couldn't believe her own eyes when the lake was so incredibly huge with wide open water that has some huge Lilypad with flowers on it. Two dragonflies flew past some huge cloverleaves with water drop. Most butterflies on the shore are resting on some flowers to drink. This scene made Marcy her dreams come true. She's like living in a fantasy like she always wanted.

"Wow! It's so beautiful!" Marcy stunned with eyes sparkles.

"Yep! It sure is." replied Sprig.

They walk around to see a beautiful lake. Marcy took her journal to do her sketch and wrote about the lake. Sprig hops up on her backpack when she felt her new best friend climbing over as he overlooked.

"Whatcha doin'?" Sprig asked curious.

"Just doing some sketch and then writing down on my journal." Marcy answered.

"Is that what you've been doing?"

"Yep, and that makes me one of three humans who likes to study and explore a whole new world. Wait 'til I tell my friends about this."

"So, first and small question. When was the last time you saw your friends?" Sprig asked.

"Oh, let see. Since about last week before I was stranded here." Marcy answered while writing her journal.

"Uh-huh, and do you know what happened to them?"

Marcy stops writing her journal and looked at Sprig while dropping her smile a bit.

"I have honestly don't know. The last time when Anne opens the box, and all of sudden. Whoosh! We were separated and I have no clue where to find them."

"Hey, it'll be okay. I'm sure we can look for your friends. Besides, they could be out here somewhere." said Sprig.

"Are you sure?" Marcy asked softly.

"Well, maybe, but I'm not so sure how far have they been, but they could be out here. I hope.

"Then there's no time to loose. Come on. Let's start looking.

"Right behind you."

Marcy run towards to the water to jump on the Lilypad, but Sprig came to a halt as he approach the wooden sign says "DON'T SWIM" as he read carefully.

"This was not here last week."

Marcy is now standing to raise her hand on her forehead to search and see if her friends are out there. Then she resume writing on her journal just for studying her surroundings, but then she didn't notice when something lurks underwater.

Sprig turn his head at Marcy where she's standing on the Lilypad while writing her journal, but he started to get suspicious about the lake.

"Hmmm... something's wrong here."

But then all of sudden, what really shocked him as his eye grew wide open when there's a giant water snake with dorsal fins on each back, flippers at the end of the tail, and big orange eyes, slowly comes out from the water while hissing at Marcy that's been completely obvious. Now he realized that the lake is closed when there's predator inside.

"(gasp) MARCY!" Sprig shouted.

Marcy turns her head at Sprig, but didn't notice that the snake is above her.

"Yes, Sprig?"

How can Marcy wasn't paying attention when there's a giant snake in the lake? He need to act fast as he start running towards the shore to jump on Lilypad just enough to save Marcy.

"LOOK OUT!"

Sprig pushed her out of the way before the snake begins chomp on the Lilypad to make a splash. Marcy and Sprig fell to the pad, then turns around at the water snake as it roars at them. Marcy grew her eyes wide open with shocking look.

"What the?! Is that a snake?!" Marcy shocked.

"Oh, you think! I tried to get you attention!"

"I didn't know it was huge!"

"Less talking, more saving!"

Marcy got up and jumps out of the way while Sprig hops out into the water before the snake snap its mouth. When Marcy made it back to the shore, she stops and turns around to see the water snake just to do a quick sketch on her journal. She has never seen such animal like this big before. Just like the giant praying mantis.

Once Sprig jumps out from the water since he swim that fast, he turns around to see the snake as it swims closer to reach them. Sprig gasp.

"Sprig! Are you seeing what I'm seeing?!" Marcy asked while doing her sketch.

"Really?! Now's not the time to draw!" replied Sprig.

"Yeah, I know, but that snake was huge! There's gotta be weak spot in order to get away."

"What the about the fire power that you hair sprayed?"

"I don't have a torch. Any options?"

Then suddenly, it really hit him. Sprig realized what he's been missing.

"(gasp) Of course! Chili pepper!"

He took out his slingshot and a chili pepper that he took with. He took a quick aim at the water snake when its getting too closer. Marcy knew what Sprig is doing.

"Whatever you do, don't miss!" Marcy reminded him.

"I never miss." replied Sprig.

Once the water snake swim closer to the shore when it lurks up high and angrily hiss at them. Sprig got it right what he want when the snake open its jaw to eat them.

"Eat chili, creep!"

Sprig slingshot a chili pepper at the snake and then it swallows it. But then it happened, when the snake screech by releasing the fire from its throat. It violently move its head when it burns. Marcy and Sprig was shock and awed while she took out her phone to take a picture.

Once the fire was out, the snake falls to the water to wash off. Marcy and Sprig were cautious to see of its dead or alive as the water looks clam.

"Is it dead?" Marcy asked cautious.

"I hope so." Sprig answered.

Then suddenly, the water snake emerged from the water and angrily roars at them.

"I was wrong."

"Let's get outta here!" Marcy yells.

"Death approaches!"

The two of them flees quickly from the water snake just to get away from the lake. Once they reach to the forest, they stop running and panting to take their breathe. Marcy looks back to see the snake is following them, but the snake didn't follow them.

"(panting) I think we lost it." Marcy panted.

"(panting) Man, that was too close, but we are not doing it again." Sprig panted when replied.

"Yeah, totally."

Once they got their breathe, they looked at each other with apologetic look.

"Hey, um... sorry that I forgot to warn you about the lake." Sprig apologies.

"No, it was my fault. I'm sorry that I got us into this mess. I just really want find my friends, but I don't see them anywhere."

"Don't worry, we'll find your friends. For now, let's head back home before Hop Pop noticed that were gone."

"I agree. C'mon, let's head back home." Marcy agrees.

Both kids start walking fast to head back home before Hop Pop woke up.

Later that night, Hop Pop is still sleeping at the desk, but then he wakes up from the nap that he realize that he overslept.

"I'm up! I'm awake!"

Hop Pop noticed as he looks out the window before he made a scowl.

"Frog dang it! I overslept again! (sigh) It's best that I should take some coffee."

Hop Pop got out from the chair and he walked out from the office, but then he heard some laughing from the basement. He step closer to the basement where the door was already open when he sees Marcy and Sprig playing a board game together.

"Come on, baby! Mama needs a new glasses." Marcy smirked.

"Ha ha! man, you're good at this." said Sprig.

Then they looked at Hop Pop smiling.

"Oh, hey Hop Pop!" Marcy greeted.

"What's up?" Sprig asked.

Hop Pop blinked his eyes twice. He couldn't tell that they've been in the house all day.

"You guys been here all day, huh?" Hop Pop asked.

"Yep. Sprig show me how to play some board games. Like from Earth." Marcy answered.

"You were right, Hop Pop. Maybe staying in the house isn't so bad at all." said Sprig.

"Hmm, well I'll be Sprig. Looks like you follow the rules. I'm impressed. Guess I have to work one something before I get some sleep." said Hop Pop when he left.

Just then, Polly jumps out while holding a dagger.

"AHA!"

Polly drops her chance and looked blanked at Marcy and Sprig playing.

"Hi, Polly. What's up?" said Marcy smiling.

"You're not gonna put a spell on us, are you? You're not even gonna try. Dis... appointing."

Polly hops away with disappointed. Once they're gone, both kids sighed with relief.

"Boy, that was close." said Sprig.

"Hey, thanks for saving me back there."

"Are you kidding? That was the most exciting thing that's ever happened to me! My heart was beating faster than a dragonfly on a sugar rush. In fact, I'm feeling a little... sleepy."

Sprig felt really tired and then he falls asleep. Marcy is looking at Sprig snoring and croaking at the same time. She think it's cute the way Sprig is sleeping. She took out her phone and took a picture, then she looks at the photo of Sprig sleeping.

Marcy smiles and she's so glad that she's Sprig new best friend, but she drop her smile a bit, realize that her friends are still out there. She set her phone down to see the photo of herself and her closest friends. She sighed sadly, staring at the ceiling.

"Anne, Sasha, please be okay."

Meanwhile, during a stormy night at the Toad Tower, a ruthless toad is seen in front of a cell room talking to someone while he's carrying a missing green pin that belongs to Marcy when she lost it in the woods. He's interrogate to his prisoner after it was captured when the toad speaks.

"Take a look at this please, Sasha. It was found far from here, in the South Forest. Now we know that you've been lying to us. Now we know that there are more of you."

As the thunder flash, it turns out that it was Sasha, who has been captured, locked up, and chained up in the dungeon all along while crossing her arms, very grouchy. She replies nothing at all.
