Marcy and the Frogs

Chapter 3: Maddie and Marcy

The next day at the Plantar's household, Marcy is showing all of her stuff to Sprig about the human realm. She has her journal, pencils, pens, two books to read, hairspray, game switcher, headphones, and her cords out from backpack. Marcy also shows her stuffed frog and her phone too. Sprig was so fascinated to Marcy's stuff. It's kinda like show and tell from school, but in another world was new to her.

"Wow, Marcy, look at all your cool stuff! What's this? Some kind of rope?" said Sprig holding headphones.

"That's a headphone. You can wear it by listening to your favorite music." Marcy answered.

"Whoa! You can listen to music just like that?"

"Yep! It's what people do. Wanna hear it?"

"Sure!"

Marcy picked up her phone and switch it to the music app, then she put a headphone on to connect, then put an ear bud on Sprig, and then she select her favorite pop music before she plays it. Sprig reacts when the music is loud. He can listen to any voice, but he felt like he was surrounded.

"WHOA! Where'd all the voice coming from?!" Sprig stunned.

"(giggles) That's music, silly. When I listen to one of my favorite music, "Shake It Off" that was performed by Taylor Swift." said Marcy.

"Who's Taylor?"

"She's a singer."

"Wow, her singing voice is pretty." said Sprig dreamily.

Then suddenly, Marcy and Sprig heard Hop Pop's hollering from the kitchen.

"Kids! Chow time!"

They formed their smile when it's time for breakfast. Sprig took the earbuds and ran up, following by Marcy and then they sit at the table with Polly in her bucket as they started to chanting out loud while Hop Pop is making food.

"Time to eat! Time to eat!"

"Hold on, you kids. Hold on." said Hop Pop

He pours some soup with bugs on the bowl until he pass the bowl to Marcy. When she looked at the soup, she examines the bugs like worms and cricket leg twitching. She felt like this isn't right. This made Hop Pop confused.

"What's wrong?" Hop Pop asked.

"Um, is there anything else besides soup?" Marcy kindly.

"What? I thought you like bugs?" said Sprig.

"I do, but it's not that, but... don't you think that you should cook... better?"

Marcy was waiting for the reply, but she was afraid that Hop Pop might get mad, but instead he just sighed sadly.

"(sigh) Marcy, let's be honest with you. I've been cooking for years to make the best meal in the house, but sadly none of them like the way I cook." said Hop Pop.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Marcy apologize after formed her concerned.

"Oh, no. It's fine. I know that you haven't eat for this kind of while, but I couldn't help you find any humans food in this place. It's best that you can cook on your own."

Just then when it hit Marcy when she realized what's missing as the girl forming her smile.

"What if I could cook for you?" Marcy suggested.

"Really? Hop Pop asked.

"You can cook?" Polly raised her eyebrow.

"Sure do! My dad taught me how to cook." replied Marcy.

"Sweet! What do you have in mind?" Sprig eagerly asked.

Before Marcy can answer, then suddenly, they heard a ringing bell right outside from the door.

"Ooh! Company! I'll get it!" Sprig jumps off the table.

"Now, hang on Sprig." Hop Pop tries to remind him, but his grandson couldn't hear him.

When Sprig approach to the door, he opens the door when suddenly, there was a girl who has same ages as him, but her light pink hair is covering one of her eyes, but the one that is visible and her skin is light blue. She gives him a big wide grin.

"Hi, Spriiiiiiig."

Sprig was startled by the look of her face.

"AAH! Maddie?! Wh-what are you doing here?" Sprig stammering.

"I thought I could stop by and see how things are going, but when I heard something like... 'spirit', that there was a rumor. You haven't seen one, have you?" Maddie asked curiously, but with rasped voice.

"Spirit? Uhh... I have no idea what you're talking about." Sprig started to sweat.

But suddenly, Marcy approach to Sprig when she's curious at Maddie.

"Hey, Sprig. Who's your friend?" Marcy asked.

"Oh! That's Maddie. She's the daughter of Mr. Flour. that runs the bakery

Maddie started to examine the human girl from top to bottom. Then she started to circle around Marcy until she stop in front.

"Hmm... You don't seem very suspicious. Who or what are you?" Maddie asked.

"Hi, I'm Marcy Wu! It's nice to meet you!" Marcy chimes when she offered her hand to Maddie and then she accept the offer by shaking hands.

"Hello, Marcy. Now that's outta the way, I only have one question. Where'd you learn that spell? Did you capture souls? Have you conjure with full of witchcraft?" Maddie asked very eagerly.

"Actually, no. I'm a human." Marcy shrugged apologetically.

"Huh? You're not a spirit?" Maddie blinked.

"Nope. I'm from Earth."

Maddie dropped her smile when she felt disappointed.

"Oh, I see. Well, it was nice meeting with you or whatever." Then Maddie turns a glance at Sprig. "See you around, Sprig."

Maddie turns around when she walks off to a road. Sprig close the door and let out a big sighed with relief.

"Whew. For a moment, I thought she had a big creepy grin." said Sprig.

"Hmm, she seems disappointed that I'm not a spirit." replied Marcy.

"Oh, that's just because she's into something like occult."

Then Marcy stunned for a moment when she heard a single word then she turned to Sprig.

"Occult? You mean like 'magic'?" Marcy asked.

"Yeah?"

"As in real life magic?"

"Yeah, why?"

Sprig can see the look on Marcy's happy face.

"You know, I've been thinking..." Marcy pondering.

Hop Pop and Polly were staring at them with confused looks.

"Is she really going to do some curse stuff?" Polly asked.

"Well, of course she isn't. She's too young to do some wicked spell." replied Hop Pop.

"Aw, come on! Give me the power to escape!" Polly reach her flippers to Marcy.

"Sorry, Polly. You know the rules. Now, it's off for a little bath with you." Hop Pop lift her bucket off from the table.

"NO! YOU CAN'T TAKE ME AWAY! I'LL GET DIRTY AGAIN! NEVER! NEVER!" Polly yells while waving her flippers.

Marcy and Sprig were staring oddly at Hop Pop carrying Polly in her bucket upstairs to the bathroom. Then she looks back at Sprig that jus blinked his eyes before he asked.

"So... why you asking about magic?"

Meanwhile in a deep forest, where purple mushrooms glows on the tree as Maddie is working on something, but she was deeply disappointed from the start. She was so happy to meet the spirit in person, but it turns out that she isn't because Marcy is human and it ends up being a tall tale by Wally. She mumbled quietly while stirring something in her cauldron. She was reading her spell book with some potions that she brought so that she can do something like using magic for good.

Then suddenly, she heard a bush rustling until there were three tadpoles that looks like Polly, but with different colors. The first one is sea foam colored and 3 strands of hair, then a second one is a lavender and a single strand of curly hair, and the third one is blue, and is completely bald. They jumped out from the bush just to see Maddie what they need the most.

"Maddie! Maddie! Maddie! Maddie! Maddie!"

Maddie knew what they want, but she seems very busy.

"Hi, Rosemary, Ginger, and Lavender. What are you doing here?" Maddie asked gloomily.

"Hey, sis. You promised us to play with us." replied Rosemary.

"Sorry, I'm a little busy at the moment. Maybe tomorrow."

"But you said it like yesterday." said Ginger.

"Yeah, why can't you play juggle with us?" asked Lavender.

"Look, I don't have time to play with you guys. I'm not in a mood for something." Maddie scoff.

"Why?" Ginger asked.

"What's the matter?" Rosemary asked.

"(sigh) I'll tell you why. I stop by at Sprig's house to see that he has a spirit he just brought, but instead it wasn't. It was just some odd creature wearing people's clothes." Maddie explained.

"Wasn't that daddy told us about the spirit?" Lavender asked.

"Yes, but I like said, she's not a spirit. Just an odd creature. Why don't you three just go play somewhere else."

"Aww!" The tadpole girls were disappointed.

They bounced off sadly. Maddie couldn't blame her little sisters, but she's not into something fun. She's very obsessed into witchcraft and some magic spell. She felt frustrated when not just her sisters, but this creature was not an actual spirit. She thought that she be much happier that no one is in danger, but then again she always thought that she was supposed to take that chance.

But then her thoughts were interrupted by some bush rustling and some voice. Maddie looks cautious very carefully when she slowly reach her a small bag of dust until she can hear Sprig's voice, but she didn't that he brought a friend with him.

"Marcy, please! Let's reconsider about this!"

"Relax, Sprig. How hard could it be?"

Just then, Maddie quickly turns around and toss her small bag straight what's behind her, but when the small bag explodes with green flames behind Marcy that's been carrying her backpack along with Sprig that looked spooked until when the green flames are out, both kids fell flatly on the ground. Maddie was stunned.

"Hey, you two okay?" Maddie asked.

Marcy perks up with her smiley face.

"Yep! I'm okay." replied Marcy.

Sprig gives Maddie a thumbs up while his face remains flat. Maddie was all confused.

"What are you two doing here?"

Marcy got up after dusting her jacket off.

"Oh, hello again. Sorry to bother you, but I asked Sprig about that you performed magic. I only have one question, how did you do that?!"

Maddie blinked her eyes when stunned. She's been staring at Marcy with her gleeful eyes.

"Excuse me?"

"The one you toss out a green fire! Are you into some kind of magic? Is this true?!"

"Look, if you think if it's a joke, don't bother."

"Oh, no, no! No tricks! I swear! I have no idea how you can do that, but this?! This is awesome! That was the coolest thing ever!"

Maddie is rubbing her chin with her finger.

"Hmm... Do you also have an interest in the dark arts?" Maddie asked.

"Sure do! Check this out! I've read every Cynthia Coven book from one to second novel!" Marcy removes her backpack to unzip and then shows her two books of Cynthia Coven. "I've been searching for book three, but it's not there because most of them are out of stock."

Maddie took everything back. No one has ever interest into her own persona.

"Wow. No one's ever interested like I can do. What did you say you're from?"

"Earth." Marcy answered.

"Earth? Never heard of it." Maddie pondering.

"Well, it's where I come from in another world." Marcy explained.

"Ah, so you're from another world. Not that kind of spirit realm?"

"Nope, just an ordinary human girl. So, can you teach me how to do magic?"

Maddie hasn't thought about it yet. She seems like an odd creature, but then again she looks harmless. How could she say no to that?

"Alright, I can teach you, but only just because you're an odd creature, but that doesn't mean that I can't teach you. So, we're gonna start doing basic for the dark art."

This made Marcy even happier as she thought. She put two of her novels back in her backpack and pulls out her journal as the girl prepares to write down on her note.

"I'm all ears, baby!" said Marcy.

"Heh. You seems so hype into magic, huh?" Maddie chuckled.

"I sure am! I've always wanted to learn magic since I was a little girl. I will do anything that you ask me." replied Marcy.

"Anything?"

"Yeah! Anything!"

"Hmmm... Wanna be my apprentice and help me bring back a dead spider?"

"Sure!" Marcy chimes.

"Wait, dead spider?!" Sprig jolted up quickly.

Later on, the lesson has started. Marcy is listening very carefully while Maddie explains everything. For Sprig, however is felling bored when he thinks that there's no fun with all about adventure, but he still feel uncomfortable around Maddie because he thinks she creeps him out for no reason. As for Marcy, she is so eager to be a magician or a witch (in a good way) as the girl is writing down on every list.

"Alright, in order to become a magician or a witch as you were preferred, you have to follow by each steps into three fields. Rituals, alchemy, and curses." said Maddie as she instructed her.

"Rituals, alchemy, and curses. Got it." said Marcy writing her down her journal.

"Good, now in order to do that, you have to make with your own potions."

"So, if I use potions like magic, will it work?" Marcy asked.

"That's the idea. I'm gonna go start with the easy one. Now, what will I choose?"

Maddie is looking through some potions and powder bag so that she can find an easy until she picks it up and then she smiles, knowing that it's easy practice.

"Perfect."

Maddie walk towards to Marcy that still writing until she's done as the teen girl is looking at the curse pouch that was holding by Maddie.

"What's that?" Marcy asked.

"That is a curse pouch. I made something myself like you can disappear or turn someone into something like curse." Maddie explained.

"So, do I can curse anyone into something like this?"

"I only curse them for those who abusing magic. I can only use magic to help people."

"Oh, I get it! It's like the Good Witch Azura." said Marcy.

"Who?" Maddie tilted her head.

"It was a novel series. I read a lot about like a dozen times, then I watch her TV show and collecting toys." Marcy explains.

"What's a TV?"

"It's stands for television. It's where people are watching when it all starts-"

"Can we just get on with it already? I'm getting bored here!" said Sprig impatiently.

"Oh, right. Sorry. Now, how does it work?" Marcy asked.

"Why don't you go ahead and try it out." replied Maddie when hands over the curse pouch to her.

Marcy took the pouch from Maddie, then turns her head at the dead tree. She takes a glance at the pouch and started to wonder what it is, but she just shrugged and then she toss the pouch over to the dead tree. It poofed and as the smoke cleared a dead tree, but then it started to grow some leaves on twigs and branches. Then Marcy went stunned of all sudden. Sprig was surprised. Maddie smiled sheepishly.

"Yeah, it took me a lot practice to used up all the vines, but-."

"I did it." said Marcy quietly.

"Huh?"

Then Marcy formed her smile when she looked at Maddie.

"I did it! I grow into a tree with full of plants!"

"Yup." Maddie nodded.

"I can't believe it! I actually did it!" Marcy happily laughs.

Then she picks up Maddie that just yelp and pulls her into hug. Maddie has never felt hug by someone who likes magic.

"Thank you! Thank you so much!"

Maddie patted Marcy's shoulder awkwardly.

"Heh, no problem. So uh, you can put me down now."

"Oh, sorry. Personal space." Marcy set her new friend down gently. "I just can't help it, but this is so excited!"

"Alright, alright. Let's get back to training. So, wanna grab some ingredients?" Maddie asked.

"(gasp) Do I?!" Marcy gasp with eyes sparkles.

"That's it. I'm out." said Sprig as hops off as he left the forest, leaving both Maddie and Marcy confused.

"What's up with him?" Marcy asked.

"Meh. Beats me." replied Maddie.

Now, it's time for Maddie to train Marcy to become a magic user. Once they're both ready, Maddie has took out her note to write down all of the ingredients.

"If were gonna bring this spider back to life, we need a few more ingredients. First up, bile of a vomit bird." said Maddie.

"Yeah! Let's do this!" Marcy agrees.

Their first task is to retrieve the bile of vomit bird. Once they made an encounter with the bird, it started to puke all over them. It was yucky with green vomit all over, but instead when the girls laugh. They collect the bile of vomit bird before they moved on to the next task.

"Then, some big old ticks."

Their next task is when they arrived at the old branch to collect the small ticks when Marcy grab the branch to shake it off until all ticks fell as the girls grab two buckets to catch all the ticks, but some are on the girls bodies and started to go panic while running around to shake it off.

"A really rotted corpse."

After they shake off all the ticks, Marcy and Maddie are at the field right now to gather the rotten corpse which turns out to be a dead body that looks resembles to a big bird with some flies all over the corpse. It looks pretty disgusting, but it's the only to gather up some ingredients. Marcy took off her jacket and ties it around on her waist, and then she put on some gloves to gather some part.

"Fresh soil from a graveyard."

Marcy and Maddie has arrived at the graveyard to gather some oil for the ingredients, but they didn't took noticed that there were three frogs along with the priest that attends funeral.

"Distorted limbs."

Marcy and Maddie are carrying two buckets of multiple legs of bugs as they both laugh after retrieving from some dead insects. And finally, they have finished collecting their ingredients and then Maddie wrote down the last list.

"And lastly, a high-five from your new best bud."

Maddie and Marcy are doing their high fives, meaning that Marcy made herself another friendship with Maddie Flour.

Later that evening, Maddie and Marcy has arrived at the bakery with the word from above that says "Flour & Daughter's Bakery", meaning that she's living with her father and her little sisters. It's been a day for the two of them and now it's time for some rest until the next day. As they approach to her house, Marcy was examining the bakery.

"Is this where you live?" Marcy asked.

"Yep. I lived here with my dad and my sisters. He's in charge of the bakery that make some bread. All of my sisters are asleep. I do not want to deal with them right now." replied Maddie.

"What's wrong with your little sisters?" Marcy asked.

"It's a long story. I used to play with them all the time. Especially, juggling. That was their favorite. Then, I got my own interest. Magic became my passion. My calling. I didn't have time to waste on kids stuff anymore. And ever since then, they've been so annoying." Maddie explains her backstory.

"As someone goes hard her hobbies, I relate. But, don't you think you should still make time for them occasionally?" Marcy asked when unease.

"Nonsense. Being a witch is a big responsibility, Marcy. I've got more important things to do now than babysit."

"Well, you are the master. See you at the sacrificial grove tomorrow for an unholy ritual!"

Then they both started to do their secret handshake.

"Creepy spiders!" They both said in unison and then they started to laugh.

"Can't wait! Goodnight, Maddie!" Marcy waved.

"Goodnight, Marcy." replied Maddie.

Then Marcy walks off as the blue frog girl waving her hand at her until she left to head back to the Plantar's household, but nobody noticed when her sisters, Rosemary, Ginger, and Lavender that were watching through the window from their room.

Just then, Maddie walks inside just enough time to see her dad where he's cleaning up the dishes that was from making some bread. He took noticed when Maddie came home and then he smiles.

"Hey, dad." Maddie greeted.

"Hello, daughter. How's your day going?" Mr. Flour asked.

"It was great! I made a new friend who's interested into magic and I taught her everything by following the ingredient." replied Maddie smiling.

"That's very nice. So, what's your friends name?"

Maddie forgot to mention it about her new friend's name. She remembers when her dad told her everything about what happened. Then she decided to come clean.

"Say um, remember the spirit that you told me from two days ago?" Maddie asked.

"Uh-huh. That spirit was far too dangerous." replied Mr. Flour.

"Actually, about that... I don't think it was a spirit."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, the truth is..." Maddie pause for a moment.

If she's telling the truth, then frog knows what would happen if her dad would be so furious or overly protecting her. Then she sighed softly.

"(sigh) I made a friend with a creature who is not a an actual spirit from the other day."

Mr. Flour froze. He turns around and looked stunned for all of sudden. Maddie could see the shock look on his face.

"I know what you're gonna say, but what she told me is true. She's just a girl from another world who was stranded and she's living with the Plantars that they look after. I promise that she won't do anything that's harm." Maddie pleaded.

Mr. Flour could see the look of being honest on Maddie's face. Then her father just sighed when he gives in.

"Alright, just for once. I was a bit worried if anything happens to you. I just don't want to loose you like what happen to your mother." said Mr. Flour.

"I know." replied Maddie when lowered her voice.

She remembers what happen to her mother. It broke their hearts when they have last seen the mother of the Flours and now it's only just him and his daughters. Mr. Flour warmly embrace his daughter just to comfort before he speaks.

"There, there. It'll be alright." said Mr. Flour softly.

They let go of their embrace when Maddie looks up.

"So, does this mean that I can go out tomorrow?" Maddie ask politely.

"Of course you can, but you promise me that you won't get hurt." replied Mr. Flour.

"Pfft. She's not gonna hurt me. I promise."

"That's my girl."

They hugged each other once a again for this moment. Maddie will do anything to be more careful in the morning. Meanwhile in her sisters' room, the tadpoles couldn't help, but felt a little jealous when they think that they've been replace by this weird creature. They don't even know that this creature is not a spirit.

"I can't believe it! Maddie replaced us?" Rosemary complains.

"Why did she want to hang out with that stupid old lady?" Ginger asked harshly.

"I wish we were older. And then, Maddie would want to play with us like she used to." Lavender suggested.

Suddenly, Rosemary had an idea.

"That's it! That's it! That's it! We just have to use one of Maddie's witchy spells to grow up!" said Rosemary.

"Grow up?"

"And then we'll be older and Maddie will want to play with us again!" said Ginger.

"Yeah!" They both said in unison.

And then they started to cackle as they act like a wicked witch, but their cackles were interrupted when Mr. Flour came in to check on his daughters.

"Goodnight, girls." said Mr. Flour.

Then they switch into an innocent mode with eyes sparkles.

"Goodnight, daddy."

Then Mr. Flour closed the door gently and then they switch into sinister grin mode when they formed a plan to make themself grow up so that they can play with their older sister again and replace the odd creature.

The next morning, Mr. Flour is getting ready for the next day by stirring up some more ingredients to make some bread. Maddie walk downstairs to look for something like her spell book. She couldn't remember what she did with the book. Then her dad smiles at her when she approach.

"Morning, daughter." said Mr. Flour.

"Dad, have you seen my spell book? I need to perform a level resurrection with my apprentice." Maddie asked.

"Well, I think I saw your sisters with it." Mr. Flour answered.

But Maddie froze when he said something about his sisters and then she was crossed.

"Aah! I'm gonna kill them!" Maddie growls.

"Well, make sure you resurrect them when you're done." Mr. Flour obviously remarked, thinking that Maddie was sarcastic.

When Maddie runs upstairs to her sisters by kicking the door open, but what shocked her is when her little sisters did took her spell book as they are making something in the honey pot. They looked up at Maddie when she's mad.

"What have I told you about playing with my stuff?!" Maddie snaps.

"We're not playing, we're making a witchy spell." said Lavender with her innocent voice.

Before Maddie can raise her voice to scold them, but she paused and looked at her spell book for which she was shocked. The worse part is that page was torn from her spell book and with some crayons that's crossed out on two pages.

"(gasps) Oh, what did you do to my book?!" Maddie picks up her book and looked torn that her project is ruined. Then she gives them with her anger look. "It's ruined! This is why I don't spend time with you anymore because you're annoying little babies!"

Maddie stomps off and slams the door leaving the tadpoles stunned, but they haven't felt hurt because they were so eager to be grow up when they turn around and look through the pot that's filled with ingredients.

"We won't be babies for much longer." said Rosemary.

Then they started to mischievous giggles. They don't even know what they're doing when the page that they ripped out was a potion growth page.

Meanwhile back at the Plantars' household, in the basement Marcy is fully awake and she packed up some equipment's that she just borrowed and put it all in her backpack before she put it on her back. Then she walks over to pick up something from the crate that was covered by a rag. She walks upstairs to the front door, then she walks through the doorway, and walk straight towards to the forest where she met Maddie.

It didn't take too long when Marcy arrived and see Maddie was stirring in the cauldron, but didn't notice when the frog girl was in a bad mood. When Marcy approach, she made a friendly smile when Maddie looks up with her gloom looks.

"Morning, Maddie." Marcy greeted.

"Hey." Maddie mumbled.

"Check it out! My first successful curse!" Marcy smiles when she remove a cloth rag when it turns out, there was a flower in a pot with a mustache and has a face with big eyes. "Some kind of horrible abomination!"

The flower started to yodeling with a pop music and has a cute voice until Marcy covers the flower's mouth to stop yodeling.

"Okay, that's enough." Then Marcy noticed that the spell book pages was ruined, colored by some crayons. "You okay?"

"I'm so done with my sisters. Look what they did to my spell book!" replied Maddie when she's not happy.

"Yeesh. They didn't even color in the lines." Marcy remarks.

The flower agrees by clicking its tongue by saying 'tsk' five times.

"Whatever. They won't stop me from reaching level two. Let's get to resurrecting." said Maddie.

Both girls are getting started to resurrect the spider. Marcy set the spider down gently on the tree stump, then Maddie holds the potion vile that is purple as the young witch carefully poured the potion on the spider until it's empty. When the purple glows around the spider, they waited out to see if it works.

But then it happened, the spider started to twitch until it comes alive. Both girls were stunned. They couldn't believe that they actually did it. They brought the spider back to life. This made the two of them happier than ever.

"Oh, it's alive... IT'S ALIVE!" Marcy gleefully shouted.

"We did it! We did it! I'm finally a level two witch!" Maddie cheers.

But the celebration was on hold until they heard a deep voice that they're not familiar with that kind of deep voice.

"MADDIE!"

Marcy and Maddie looks up in the sky when they clearly see what's in front of the sun, but until Maddie realize it was one of her sister, Ginger who so huge when leaped in the air until she lands on top of the spider that was squashed. Both girls were shocked.

"Found you!" said Ginger with her deep voice.

"Wait, Ginger?!" Maddie shocked.

"You wanted us to grow up."

Then Rosemary and Lavender shows up next to Ginger with the same height.

"So, here we are!" Rosemary added.

Then the three tadpoles started to grow when it glows green all around them. Maddie was completely shocked when she realized that.

"Oh, no they didn't!" Maddie shook her head.

"Come on Maddie, play with us!" said Lavender.

"Hide and seek!" All three said in unison when they jumped up.

Both girls realized that they're going to get squash. They ran off screaming before Maddie's sisters has landed as the chase began. Marcy and Maddie ran fast as the could from the forest when being chased by three giant tadpoles as they laugh and giggles with deep voice. Once they made it out from the forest as they have arrived and hid by the house and then they panted to catch their breathe.

"This is insane! What was that?!" Marcy asked when frantic.

"It's my sisters. They got the spell all wrong." replied Maddie.

"How do you know that?"

"A curse like that should be done already. At this rate, they're going to be like a balloon until they explode."

Then suddenly, Ginger peeked out to see Maddie and Marcy.

"Found you!"

Maddie was startled when yells. Then Rosemary crash through the rooftop while Lavender approach.

"Now we hide, and you seek!" They all said in unison before they giggles as they started to grow once more.

Rosemary, Ginger, and Lavender bounced off when a blue frog that just jumps out of the way as the three giant tadpoles are heading straight to Wartwood. As the townsfolks are doing their daily, but suddenly they felt the whole place are shaking when they realized that the three big tadpoles are wrecking as the frogs screaming and running.

They started to wreck the whole town by crashing through the stands, toppling down the statue, destroying everything in their path. Ginger jumps on top of the house when collapse after the frog got out by going through the window. Lavender has pulled out the lamppost, mistaking that it's a toy. Rosemary has tipped over the house to see a frog in bathtub before he let out a scream.

Luckily for the Plantars, they didn't take notice when the village is attack. Hop Pop is sitting on the couch reading his book while Sprig and Polly are doing puzzle. They were completely obvious that the tadpoles are huge, wrecking the village.

"I wonder how Marcy is doing." Sprig wonders.

"Hope she's getting curse thing ready." replied Polly.

Back to Wartwood while everyone are running from the tadpoles, but suddenly when they started to grow just as Maddie predicts it. They stop laughing when they realize something is wrong.

"Wow, we're big. Maybe a little too big." said Rosemary.

"Hey, uh guys, how much big are we suppose to get big?" Ginger asked with her worried look.

"I don't know, but I don't like it!" Lavender cried.

Then they started to cry with their deep voice. As the tears started to washed off when Mayor Toadstool led an angry mob with pitchforks and torches, but their torches was all washed off when the fire has been put out. Then the tears made a splash on the tulip garden as a certain who likes to grow tulips.

"You grow tulips."

Marcy and Maddie had witness when the three tadpoles are growing way big like a balloon, just as she predicts it. They can't just sit here and watch them explode. maddie was afraid that her father will never forgive her.

"Oh, no. This is bad. Any suggestions?" Marcy asked when desperate.

"Yes, there's only one way that we can fix this. Come on!" replied Maddie.

Both girls are rushing back to the forest where they left off. Then Marcy has gathered the ingredients to make the cure as Maddie stir the cauldron until it's ready.

"Okay, I'm going to need you to make four doses while I calm them down." said Maddie.

"Got it, coach. But I'm not ready for that level of potion making." replied Marcy.

"Don't worry, Marcy. It's your first time trying out as a witch. You got this."

"Thanks, Maddie, but why four doses?"

"Because one of them is for me."

Maddie stops stirring when she picks up the vile in her potion and then pour herself on top of her head until she started to grow when the green dust emerge. Marcy covered herself from the dust until it settled, but then what really surprise her when Maddie grows bigger than ever.

"Whoa!" Marcy stunned.

Meanwhile, the tadpoles are still crying while almost flooding the whole town until they heard a big raspberry voice when a big stomp took steps.

"Rosemary! Lavender! Ginger! I'm here!" Maddie boomed as the birds bolted.

"Maddie!" Rosemary cried

"Help us!" Ginger cried.

"We made a mistake!" Rosemary cried.

"I'm the one that made mistake. I should have made time for you three, but now I'm gonna make up for it." Maddie sooth her sisters when she picks them up gently.

Then she formed her smile as Maddie started to jiggling her sisters like juggling three balls as the big tadpoles started to laugh when they're calm. While she was juggling, Marcy was holding onto to giant Maddie after she was lifted up so that she can them all.

"Cross hand shuffle, around the swap, three long bobs." said Maddie when playing with her sisters.

Marcy climbs up on to Maddie's shoulder when it's time.

"Maddie! Get ready!" Marcy hollers.

Maddie nodded. First Marcy toss the antidote to Rosemary when she shrunk into normal, then Lavender, then Ginger, and now she toss it to Maddie when she shrunk back to normal and then she land to the ground safely before she caught all three of her little sisters when they started to cheer. Marcy lands on her feet and made a cheer for them. Maddie looks up and smile at Marcy.

"Nice job with those antidotes." said Maddie.

"Thanks, Maddie. I had a great teacher." replied Marcy.

Maddie felt blush, but then she realize that she made a mistake

"You're the best sister ever!" said The tadpoles in unison.

"No, I'm not."

They drop their smile when Maddie gently set her sisters down.

"Because of me, you three almost exploded. I got so caught up with my witch stuff, that I forgot that being an older sister is my responsibility too."

Maddie felt guilty for mistreated her sisters. She deserved to be yelled at. But instead, the three tadpoles just jumped into their older sister's arm as they warmly embrace with their smiley face. Maddie accept their hug, making Marcy felt her heart warmed. Then she started to think that they reminded her when she used to be with her older brother. She may love this place, but deep down, she missed her brother very much and so does her adoptive family.

Maddie set them down gently as they let go of their embrace, but they took noticed when Marcy drop her smile a bit. They have never seen Marcy felt sad like this before.

"Hey, are you okay?" Maddie asked softly.

Her thoughts were interrupt when Maddie is talking to her.

"Huh? Oh, yeah. I'm okay." replied Marcy.

"Girls, I want you to meet Marcy, my apprentice." said Maddie.

The three tadpoles bounce closer to Marcy and looks up with apologies look. Marcy knelt down to the tadpoles.

"Hello, little ones." Marcy greeted kindly.

"Hello, we're so sorry that we called you names." Ginger apologies.

"We thought that you just a bad spirit." said Rosemary.

"Yeah, we're very sorry." Lavender added.

Then Marcy felt touched. No one has ever apologize to her, then she formed her smile.

"It's okay. I forgive you." said Marcy very kindly.

She lifts them up gently and gave them a warm hug while the tadpoles hug them back. Then suddenly, they heard some rant, but not too far as both girls realize something.

"Uh oh. I think we should go." Maddie suggested.

"Good idea. Time to go." Marcy agrees.

They both ran off while carrying Maddie's sisters just to get away safely from the angry mobs.

Later that close to evening when the sun goes down, Marcy and Maddie has arrived at the Plantars along with the tadpoles until they stop walking. Marcy looked at Maddie with a smile look after they had some fun.

"Hey, Maddie. Thanks for teaching me how to use magic." Marcy thanked her.

"Nah, it's no big deal. That's what friends do, right?" replied Maddie.

"Yeah, definitely. Say, if it's alright that I can borrow your spell book?"

"Hmm... okay, but there a few rules that you should know. Number one, you can only use magic to help people for good. Number two, never abuse magic like put a curse on someone. Number three, if you tried to do any reckless or use it harm anyone, I won't teach you to be a magician. You got it?"

Marcy nodded.

"Maddie, I swear by my oath, I will never betray you or abuse any magic in this world."

"Promise?"

"I promise."

Maddie nodded. Then they started to do their secret handshake like they did from last night.

"Creepy spiders!"

Both girls are laughing while the tadpoles are giggling. Maddie hands over her spell book to Marcy, then she took off her backpack just to pull out one of the "Cynthia Coven" novel and give it to Maddie.

"Here, you can read this to your sisters. I get the feeling when you read them their bedtime story." said Marcy.

"Thanks. Make sure you don't loose it when you're done." replied Maddie.

"I won't. Goodnight, Maddie. Goodnight, girls."

"Goodnight, Marcy!" replied The tadpoles.

"Goodnight, apprentice. Say hi to Sprig for me." said Maddie.

"I will." Marcy waved before she walk inside through the doorway until it close. Maddie looks at the front cover when she smiles, then she looks down at her little sisters.

"C'mon girls. Let's go home and read your bedtime story."

"Yay!"

Rosemary, Lavender, and Ginger are bouncing off when Maddie walks along as they went straight home. Once Marcy was inside, she opens the the trap door to basement, but suddenly when she stop and looked stunned that the whole basement has been flooded.

"Huh? What the heck?" Marcy exclaimed.

Just then, when Hop Pop approached.

"Sorry for the bad news, but those darned burrow bugs must have chewed the water pipes!" said Hop Pop when complained.

"Aw man, what? Boo." Marcy frowned before she blowing out a raspberry.

"Well, gotta find the leak, then patch it up good."

"Uh, so where am I gonna sleep?" Marcy asked.

Just then, when Sprig pops up with his smiley face.

"Hey, Marcy! You can bunk with me in my room. How fun will that be?" said Sprig.

"(gasp) Really? Like sleepover? Oh, it's on, baby!" Marcy smiles.

Then they fist bump each other, but Hop Pop was concerned about this at first.

"Hmm... I'm not sure this a good idea for the two of you, but uh... what did you say what kind of human are?"

"I'm warm blooded." replied Marcy.

"Uh, gross."

"No, I mean warm blooded, like for example. Birds are warm-blooded and frogs have cold-blooded. It's not of a big deal." Marcy explained.

Hop Pop was not convinced, but instead he just shrugged it off.

"You may have a good point, but I warned ya. Mark my words though. No good will come of this. No good at all."

Then he walks into the water to get rid of those burrow bugs. Marcy and Sprig looked at each other when they smiled.

"Race ya to the top of the stairs!" said Sprig.

"Not on my watch!" Marcy grinned.

They both ran upstairs as they both giggles just for fun. Looks like the sleepover has just begun until Hop Pop figures out how to deal with those bugs. Let's hope that they don't fight each other when Sprig is sharing his room with Marcy as long as they learn to respect their own personal space.
