Now, before we begin, I just wanted to let you know that it might sounds a bit weird having a crossover with Amphibia and one of the best Disney Animation Movie, but that doesn't stop me to try something new. I don't want any insults or spam. Just to let you know that it will takes place from Animorphia, but with Swap AU. The following chapter takes place during "Stakeout", but in alternative ways. Hope you enjoy reading! Thank you!

Marcy and the Frogs

Chapter 7: One Family To Another

The next day at the Plantars Household, Marcy is helping Hop Pop by doing all the farming work. She admires all the farming as the elder frog really appreciated that she'll be able to help him. Sprig and Polly are helping out to as long as they don't get stressed out.

They have buried some seeds of tomato that they've been gathered since yesterday that they're planning to sell first tomatoes all over the land. There's also a few cabbages and other veggies poked out from the ground as they gathered up a few veggies.

"So the farm has been in the Plantar name for twelve generations?" Marcy asked when excited.

"Yup! This farm has been living with the Plantars for thousand of years since our ancestor, Lily Plantar, great-great-great-grandmother who has founded Wartwood and start to have a new family. She's been watching our family and Wartwood grow up for four centuries until today that is. There used to be toads and newts that owned this valley, but when the King realized how cruel the toads were, he decreed that all farmland would be owned by whoever worked it." Hop Pop explained.

"Wait, there was a king here?" Marcy asked when surprised.

"That's right, the king of Newtopia. Ruler of all Amphibia that's been living for thousands of years." Hop Pop nodded.

"Ooh! Can you tell me more about him?"

"Heh, anytime kiddo. It's nice to have someone around here is interested in the farm's history, unlike those kids." said Hop Pop.

"No need to remind us." Polly retorted.

"I'm just saying so that the two of you gonna have to learn to take care of yourself when you get older. Have you done any farm work before?"

"No, I lived in a city all my life, but I did helped my mother gardening her flowers." Marcy answered while cropping.

"Well, she seems nice."

"Hey, Marcy. I've been thinking if we can come up with our nicknames. What if we called ourselves Sparcy? No, no, how about Wurig? No, that's a weird name." Sprig is pacing back and forth.

"I don't think anything's gonna sound better, Sprig." said Marcy.

"Why not?"

"I don't know. It doesn't make any sense. Why not we just come up with our cool names?"

"Hmmm... how about the Mantis Mashers?"

"Sounds good, but too narrow. What about Heroes of the Valley?"

"Nah, too long. Oh! Wait, how about World Hoppers!" Sprig eyes lit up.

"World Hoppers, huh?" Marcy tapped her chin.

"Yeah, it's kind of like our adventuring group. You, me, and Polly can go explore new worlds. Maybe Hop Pop can come."

"I'm not getting used to use some kind of exploring, Sprig." Hop Pop commented.

"You know, that wasn't a bad idea." Marcy agrees Sprig's suggestions.

"Really? Sweet!" Sprig hops around with excitement.

When the two kids start doing their secret handshakes until Sprig does his pose on Marcy's hips as they said together in unison.

"World Hoppers For Life!"

Then they shared their laughs. Hop Pop gently shook his head when he chuckles. They he looked at her, she reminded him something or someone like he used to have the most important frog that he ever raised, but he dropped his smile when he felt that he has lost someone that's special. He wasn't ready to tell Marcy, but he'll have to wait when it's time.

Later that night, Marcy and the Plantars are relaxing outside that's been laying against the rock fence, a little farther from their house. Marcy is writing her journal next to Sprig while looking up in the sky to see many stars. Polly is resting in her bucket, next to Hop Pop that's been relaxing as well.

After a hard work for farming, they sometimes take break by having lunch until they went back for farming. Marcy listens carefully as Hop Pop instructed her to plant some veggies and le grow by pouring some water. She seems to enjoy farming making Hop Pop look really happy.

After they had supper, Marcy likes to go out for some fresh air to read books, and then later she was joined by Sprig, Polly, and Hop Pop just to hang out for relaxation.

"Man, working on a farm is really a hard task." Marcy remarked when smiling.

"Heh, you said it. Looking after the farm takes a huge responsibility like anyone else in this valley. We have markets where we could buy food, eating our best restaurant, and of course this town was currently run by Mayor Toadstool, the only toad who runs this town." said Hop Pop.

"Gotcha. Could you tell me more about the people around Wartwood? Besides Maddie and Mrs. Croaker?" Marcy asked kindly.

"I don't know Marcy. Don't you think it might scare people?" Sprig looked uncertain.

"Of course, they're aren't. You saw how everyone looks at me when I helped you win. They seems to like me."

"Yeah, but let's not forget when you spooked them by using your fake fire power." Polly commented.

"I know it was all a big misunderstanding. I just wish they were a little nicer." replied Marcy.

"Oh, that's just the way these frogs are. Slow to accept, and even slower to respect. It's actually our town's motto." Hop Pop explains.

"Hmm. That's odd, but that sounds like... weird."

"Tell me about it." Polly rolled her eyes.

"So, is it okay that you tell me about their names?" Marcy asked.

"Well, I did told you about Chuck. He sure loves talking about tulips." said Hop Pop.

"Not to mention about the Flours. Seems like you made good friends with Maddie and her sisters. And Mrs. Croaker, our most loyal customer, she's been coming to the stand since Hop Pop was a pollywog." Sprig added

"Okay, anything else?" Marcy asked after writing down her journal

"Who else, who else, Oh! There's Stumpy, who owns a restaurant. Then there's Mr. Loggle, he makes a lot of woods. And Ivy, boy... Ivy is sure quite an adventurer, like me."

"Wait, I thought you said that you don't have any friends? No offense."

"None taken. Well, I kinda have two friends. Yeah, Ivy's a cool kid. And for Maddie, well... she's always obsessed with me." Sprig rubbing his back head.

"She had a crush on you?" Marcy teased.

"No! We're just friends! You said it yourself! We're too young to get married!" Sprig flashes his face when he was blushing.

"(giggles) Okay, you got me." Marcy giggled.

"It's nice to have you kids get along like it used to be. You know, you reminded me of my daughter." said Hop Pop.

"Really?"

"That's right. Just like you, I used to have my wife while raising Sally, our lovely daughter. But sadly, my wife passed away when Sally grows up. At least I'm feeling a lot better when she married her husband, Hector who's now my son-in-law, making a family until Sprig and Polly came along." Hop Pop explains.

"Aww, that's very sweet. You never even mentioned about their parents. Where are they?" Marcy asked curious.

But Hop Pop dropped his smile. He slowly formed into sadness. Sprig and Polly knows that look when he's sad, but Marcy thinks if she is offended him. What went wrong?

"Was it something I said?"

"No. There's nothing wrong with you, but..." Hop Pop pause for a moment. He doesn't want to talk about for what happened, but Marcy needs to know if he continues. Sarah and Hector... are not with us."

Now Marcy realized what he's been talking. She felt remorse about him when he said "not with us". Sprig and Polly lowered their heads down with their sad look.

"I-I'm so sorry. I didn't know what happened to their parents." Marcy apologize softly.

"It was nothing, child. It was a few years ago. I was on a journey when the herons attacked Wartwood. Sprig and Polly survived. But their parents...weren't so lucky." Hop Pop sadly explain this to her.

Marcy gasp when reaching hand to covered her mouth when shocked, but softly. She understands why their parents aren't here anymore. How could he have not mentioned it to her? Then Hop Pop continues his tragic story.

"If I just had been there...I know things would've been different! Ever since then, I swore I'd never let my family down again. That I'd do anything to protect them. And when you showed up, I was afraid if anything ever happens to my grandkids, but it turns out that you are not that kind of spirit that takes away some people's souls. You're just a kid, and believe me, I know that you were just... harmless. I'm sorry that I never mentioned about my daughter. She's like an angel that I ever raised her, but now she's gone along with her husband."

Both Sprig and Polly went to hug their grandfather for their comfort. Marcy felt her heart broke. It really hit her when she knows how it feels. She laid her hand on Hop Pop's shoulder when he felt touch softly.

"I know what it's like to loose their parents. For me... I lost my parents too." said Marcy sadly.

The frogs perked their heads up slowly. No one over mentioned about her late parents.

"What happened?" Sprig asked softly.

She knows that it really hurts to tell them, but they need to know about what happened to her parents.

"When I was a baby, my brother and I were separated when my parents tried to protect us from what's coming. My mother dropped me off at the orphanage while my father send my brother to my grandparents, but when my parents are together, they got into a car accident. Everyone believe that they died in a car crash, but it wasn't. It was those clans that took away my parents. I'll never be able to see my parents again how I grow up or learn to walk or even my first words."

Marcy nearly shed her small tears. Sprig, Polly, and Hop Pop were both sad and shocked that she lost her parents, but what about her brother that she mentioned? Is he safe with their grandparents? They're not the only ones that they lost so much.

"What about your brother? Your uncle?" Sprig asked softly.

"Well, that was before when I'm about to tell you. The truth is that I'm an orphan or I thought I was..."

(Flashback starts)

Marcy's P.O.V.

When I was five years old, I lived in an orphanage when being raised by my caretaker, Miss Padilla. She's the head of the orphanage who looks after the children that they lost their parents like me. I never had any friends except my former roommate, Bailey. She's like a sister to me when we used to play together and when I went to kindergarten, I made some new friends.

By the next day when it's summer, I get to play with my friends everyday. But when those bullies are around, they've been making fun of me and saying that nobody would ever wanted me because I'm an orphan. I was heartbroken, then I decided that I should be looking for a family of my own.

I don't want to hurt my caretaker's feelings, but I don't have a choice when I ran away from the orphanage to prove those bullies that they're wrong, but it turns out that I made a huge mistake. I was lost and I have no place to go. I couldn't remember where I left off, but I feel like it was all my fault that I ran away to find my new family. It took me hours to get back home, but I was scared if anyone like strangers are attempt to kidnapped me or even worse.

I went into hiding until it's all clear, but I knew that this city was too dangerous during the night. I was all alone and I cried that no one would ever come look for me. Maybe those bullies were right. I'm just a selfish little girl, but when I didn't hear a voice or a footstep until I turned my head around and got scared when this man shows up.

His hair was red while wearing his yellow shirt over his white shirt, blue pants, and a necklace that has yellow gemstone. The way he looked at me, he was completely shocked. I was frightened when I thought what he's gonna do to me, but instead... he just greeted me when he looked calm.

"Uh, hello there."

I don't know what to say, but I was too scared to reply. Then he knelt down to reach his hand to me.

"Hey, come here."

I refused to move when he said it again.

"It's okay, I'm not gonna hurt you."

I was hesitated at first, but what he said that he's not going to hurt me, then I reached out my hand to accept it. When I touched his hand with his gloves on, I felt so calm at first. Then he asked me to say my name to him.

"What's your name?"

I didn't reply back to him because I thought he was just some sort of stranger, but he asked me again.

"Can you tell me your name?"

"M-M...Marcy...W-Wu..."

"Marcy Wu, huh? That's a nice name. What are you doing wandering off?"

"I-I don't… know..."

"I know you're scared, but the police were looking for you. He told me when this lady was worried sick about you."

"S-she did?"

"Of course she does. She cared about you. Why did you leave?"

"I-I had to… because… there's a big… b-bully who's making fun of me… and he said that I don't have… friends."

"Really?"

"Yes sir, he said that I don't have any friends… but I do have friends… and he also said that I don't deserve to be a-adopted… because…(sniff with tears) I-I have…no… parents… an-and… I-I ran away!"

I explained to him when I cried. I was so upset that I have no one else to look after, but suddenly when this man gave me a hug. A nice warmed hug. No one has ever hugged me like this. Why is he being so nice to me? Was he trying to comfort me? My only question is who is this nice man.

"Hey, hey, it's okay. Look at me. I get it. I know how you feel. Whatever that bully you mentioned was not true. Of course you have some friends. Most kids do care about you. I'm sure you can have your parents."

I wiped my eyes to stop crying, but my tears still flowing. Then this nice man is looking at me when talk some nice things about this.

"I'll tell you what, why don't you come with me and ask my friend who can drive you back to the orphanage. Is that okay with you?"

"I-I... don't know, but…"

"Hey, I know you're scared, but he's not gonna hurt you. He's a nice man and he made some good friends. Trust me."

I don't know if I could trust him. If I did trust him, then he'll take me back to the orphanage. So I started to trust him. He smiles at me when he's holding my hand.

"Alright kid, let's get you home."

When he took me out from the alley, it turns out that he did had a friend. I was too shy around these strangers, but now I realize that they're trying to take me back to the orphanage. I looked scared when I thought Miss Padilla was going to yelled at me, but when I see her face when she's worried, I told her how sorry I was. There's no way that she's mad at me, but she was worried because she cared about me.

When Bailey came downstairs, I rushed towards to hug her and I cried, saying that I'm sorry I ran away, but she said that it's alright and I'm safe now. When I turned around to see those men, I ran to his legs to give him a hug. The way I looked up at him, I thanked him for bringing me back home. For the first time in my life, I've never been so calm and I felt happy. This man was not a stranger at all. He's more like... the nicest man I ever looked up with.

(Flashback ends)

Marcy has finished telling her backstory to the Plantars that were touched. They could see how Marcy is feeling a lot better when changed her sad into happiness. It looks like that they have a lot in common. Sprig and Polly was so eager to hear Marcy's story when she continues.

"And when I see them again, we talk a lot about how my life has been. He defended me and my friend from that bully. He ask me a lot of questions what I like, and now I'm started to feel like that he might adopted me, until the next day when my life turns upside down, he really adopted me! He even allows me to call him daddy and then I called his friend an uncle."

Sprig, Polly, and Hop Pop were smiling that Marcy telling them how she's officially adopted.

"Your father seems like a nice man." said Hop Pop.

"It's nice that you're adopted, but what about your friends?" Sprig asked.

"Oh, don't worry. I can still see me my friends again. And speaking of which, I've made a lot of friends when I grow up. Here, I'll show you something."

Marcy closed her journal before she took her phone to show her photos to them until the Plantars takes a closer look to see the photo of herself with her big brother that's been wearing his jacket, then next to them was her adopted mother with yellow hair, wearing blue outfit, and pink necklace, then her adopted father standing next to her uncle that's has mustache.

"This is my dad when I was telling you about right next to my uncle. And when I was 12, he brought his girlfriend to live with me and I was so happy that I get used to call her mother. She said it was okay as long as we're being part of the family. And that one is Eddie, my big brother. When I thought I was the only child in this family, but until then when he came to my house and I was so shocked that he found me all this time. We were so happy that we're finally together again."

Sprig smiles at the photo. Polly bounced off from her bucket to land on top of her big brother's head. Hop Pop has never seen any more kind of human like this before.

"That's your big brother?" Polly asked when curious.

"He almost looks like you." Sprig comment kindly.

"Sounds like you had a lot going on, huh?" Hop Pop guessed.

"Yep! We had a lot of good times. I had the best day of my entire life! And when my birthday comes, Eddie promise me that he would never trade me for the world. I wish they were here to see this and to meet you."

The way Marcy replies when being, but until she drops her smile into sad a bit. The Plantars couldn't understand why she's feeling sad again at a time like this.

"Hey, are you okay?" Sprig asked softly.

"Yeah, I'm okay, but there is one thing that's been bugging me. Since I got here, this place is amazing. With you three took me in, making new friends, exploring the valley, they have everything! I love living in fantasy with my friends. Fantasy is my life... I wanted this to be in my life, but if I get back to Earth, what would my father say? Or if I stay... what would my father say? Will it be okay that I stay?"

Hop Pop could see a hurt look on her face. He felt empathy at the girl. What has changed inside of her heart.

"I don't know what to say, but don't you want to see your family? Your friends?" Hop Pop asked kindly.

"I do want to see them, but... I don't know." replied Marcy quietly.

"Marcy, I understand your feelings. If you're ready to tell me what's bugging you, I'll be there for you."

"We're your friends, Marcy. You can tell us." said Sprig when he spoke so calm.

"I won't judge you." Polly added.

Marcy felt touched that they're trying to support. She decided that if she doesn't want to talk about it. Because if she did, what will they say for what she has been through.

"Sorry, guys. Maybe another time when I'm ready." Marcy apologize.

"Are you sure?" Sprig is making sure.

"I'm positive."

"Okay, if that's what you want." Hop Pop agrees, then he lets out a huge yawn. "Well, it's getting a little late. We should probably get some rest."

"Me too." Sprig yawns.

"That's a big bummer, but at least it's a good story." said Polly when she bounced off of Sprig into her bucket.

"It sure is." Marcy agrees.

They walked back to the front porch when Hop Pop carried Polly in her bucket before he opens the door to go in first, then Sprig got inside for second, but Marcy stops and looks up in the sky where stars are glowing until there's a shooting star passed by. She let out a softly sigh before she speak softly.

"Goodnight Anne, Sasha. I hope you're okay."

Marcy slowly close the door behind her until the light from the inside turns off. It was all quiet with a sound of a cricket with mushrooms glowing and some fireflies all around the water as the Plantars' household sleeps peacefully until the next day will be better.

Meanwhile in Newtopia, everything was so peaceful as the city light's were on with huge coral reef glows purple and pink. Anne was wearing her pajamas, staring through the window to lookout peacefully. She's been sleeping in her room for a week after being welcomed by the king.

her room was filled with blue themed like her colored theme. Her bed was sort neatly between two night stands. The left nightstand that has glowing purple and right nightstand that has a flower plant in a pot. A blue carpet is on the floor, the chest was empty, but good place for her stuff to fit in, and her backpack was hanging on the chair with her desk.

Anne has been staring out in the open for a long time. She keeps thinking about her friends, especially for Marcy. How long is she going to stay until she'll find a way to get her best friend back from the wild? She was told that out in the wild is too dangerous for anyone. She prayed that her friends will be saved if they survive. She looked at her photo of herself and her friends that's been sitting on the desk.

She let out a sad sighed before she went into her bed with bedsheets to cover herself, and then tapped the lamp coral to turn off and switched into nightlight that glows blue. She took a last look to the sky before a shooting star passed by. Then she slowly drifted into sleep before she spoke so softly.

"Marcy, Sasha. Please be okay."

It took me a while to figured this out, but I got it under covered. Like I said, this story takes place in Animorphia, but with Swap AU. For that, I won't be able to continue the next chapter for a week and a half because I'm going to Orlando with my family to support by older sister for cheer state competition until I got back by June 12th. Hope you enjoy reading and stay tuned for the next chapter! I'll be seeing you real soon! Goodnight!
