Narrator pow:
"Hold on, I just realised something." Eclair said, as she and Andou were back on top of the Sudamericana's school ship as the Sun rised up and clocks pointed themselves at 10 AM.
"What is it? The flight was a bit long, you know?" Andou asked her, yawning afterwards."
"Rosehip didn't came back." Eclair said, using as little words as she could.
"She send me a messeage mid-flight that she's staying with the family for this week. Furniture reshuffle and some basement related stuff" Andou replied, showing her smartphone with the text exchange she had with Rosehip.
"Fair enough, I was just curious." Eclair responded, looking away before diverging left to greet Orlean and Felice while Andou came face to face with Maken.
"You sure like to show up in front of me." Andou commented, making herself look as annoyed as possible.
"Sorry, I guess I just care too much." Maken responded, making an akward face before taking a step back.
"You do?" Andou asked him again, walking up to him while Maken gained back his usual calm posture.
"You know, this school in some way my life project." Caudillo responded, moving his moustache in a very serious manner. "The tricky fact for those who take all power to themselves is that it includes responsibility for this power and care for those who are under this people control." He added as the two moved away from the airport towards the rest of the schooltown.
"Are you sure you're still being in a second grade? That sounds like something an adult idealist would say." Andou replied, her face crunched in a doubtful way.
"Age in documentation is just a number, but the mental and physical ones are waaaaaay more than that, I promise." Maken responded, almost smiling as he spoke. "Besides, I won't be staying as a teenage middle-schooler forever, so taking responsibility earlier on will ease the pain of having it as an adult. Simple as that." He added while they took the turn to the left and entered the recreational district, filled with restaurants, hobby clubs and other small-to-mid-sized businesses.
"Hmm... I never thought of that, actually." Andou responded, letting out a small sigh.
"I know, right? The gift of realising future challenges is just as rare as it seems." Maken comforted her, finally smiling as an akward silence came afterwards.
"... Sooooo, we part our ways now or..." Andou spoke up after a while, unsure of what to do next.
"We can stick together for a while. Day is long and I feel like I had somewhat neglected your welcome here." Maken responded kindly, looking around and seeing the full glance of the place over which he ruled.
"Oh really?" Andou asked suprised.
"Really, I just dropped you at the doorstep and flew away towards my chores." Maken responded, taking a pause to avoid having the roaring engine of passing M-3 Stuart interrupt his talk. "And I feel obligated to make up for it."
"Even for such a small thing?" Andou asked him again, somewhat confused about his outburst of generosity.
"If you can't do a small thing, you won't be able to do a big one. Consistancy is a key." Maken responded, taking out his wallet and then a flat stack of 10 000 Yen in total. "Now, let's get down to a proper initiation, Sudamericana style? Today I'm paying!"
Narrator pow (Diffrent scene):
"Okay, okay, that's fun and all but..." Cayenne said, stuffing Ella away into trusty hands of Orlean. "But where is Andou? Eclair, do you know anything?"
"Oui, I saw her walk away with Maken while the rest of you came to pick me up." Eclair responded, making her whole group stop on both sides of the doorframe.
"You? Why not us?" Ella asked, trying to wiggle her way out from the captivity. Needless to say her attempt was unsuccessful.
"Well, some of you that came to the airport picked only Eclair." Cayenne responded, sending Ella a spine-chilling glare. "But Andou seems to be picked up by Maken, no big philosophy needed."
"Sooo... We're going in to check on her?" Nene asked, looking around the corridoor and the small piece of pavement crowded at the outside.
"No, we aren't." Eclair responded first.
"That would be just rude." Olivia added, grabbing her sister by the shoulder.
"Besides, Andou is a big, grown up girl. Just as much as Maken is a mature man. They can take care of themselves no problem." Cayenne ended, causing Nene and Ella to exchange the looks of defeat mixed with concern.
Maken pow:
"Is it even remotely good?" I asked Andou as she was done with the first bite of local taiyaki.
"Actually good." She responded, smile painted on her face. "Can we go ask him about the recipe?"
"Hahahahhh... Sorry, but no." I responded, sending a wink to the bartender. "I don't have the right to demand tye reveal for anything related to food. Plus, I don't want to have your preety face meet a home-made two-gauge shotgun." I added, keeping the courtesy for a sake of not making her feel bad.
"Fair enough, thanks for caring." Andou replied, her smile fading away before she returned to eating.
"No problem, appreciation of the effort is a rare thing these days." I smiled, only to look away and sigh as I saw next headline of rampant crime increase within Japan's city centers.
"Let me guess, you just want to step in and solve it?" Andou asked me all of a sudden, propably seeing my face crunch.
"Want? Yes. Should and can? No." I responded with a hidden note of grief "People of action like me always look for trouble if not occupied. And let me tell you, men like me never know how to stop."
"So you're just being nice to about everyone for a sake of finding someone who can hold you in tracks when needed?" Andou asked me again, now clearly engaged in the conversation.
"Hmmm... Now if I think about it..." I pounded for a moment, taking a brief look to the street where I spot two pairs of eyes starring straight at us. "You're right. I'm overly ambitious... It's doesn't mean that I know how to deal with it tho."
"..." Andou didn't responded, taking the next piece of taiyaki into her mouth. Not like I expected her to come up with the answer immedieately.
"Now that I think about it, I feel like we're here a bit longer than we should." I finally broke the silence as I looked back towards her and send the pair of eyes starring at us from the distance a finger messeage.
"Agreed, especially since I'm finished." Andou responded as she passed the place to the waiter. "Still, thanks for caring. I think I also needed that." She added, as we stood up from the seats and grabbed our things.
"Also, you say?" I questioned her, rather intrigued by the wording.
"Come on now, you also needed someone to casually talk to." Andou responded, sending me a 'You serious?' glare.
"Fair enough, I'm smarter than to just judge you." I said, taking the cautious approach. "Still, see you soon and tell when I'm needed." I quickly added before turning around on my heel and walking away towards the city center.
"Good damn, she can be convincing." I thought, looking up to see a rather spacious police helicopter come in for previously arranged transport of criminals from my school ship to Japanese prisons. "It's just a shame that the night is not so diffrent from the night. Oh well, It's not like I am in fault for this specific thing..."
