disclaimer: We do not own any of the OUAT characters. Just our added characters.
Extra info: This story has two writers. One of us writes Helena and the other writes Amy. You will notice a difference in how Helena's and Amy's perspectives are portrayed, we wrote them like we ourselves notice/see things. Fair warning: we are insane. Enjoy!
It had been twelve days since that horrific morning and finally, the nightmares had stopped…. By Amy's refusal to sleep. She threw herself into her chores and avoided Rumple to the best of her abilities. She only saw him for the dreaded yet exciting hour after lunch for her magic lessons. She finally figured out how to use her positive emotions for her magic, much to her father's displeasure. Her nights were either spent in the library when he was away, or in her room with books when he was home. As time went on, Amy became desperate to talk to someone other than herself and Helena, who seemed to be getting tired of her constant ramblings.
Amy grew tired of her book and placed it down, "Helena, do you think I should talk to him?"
'If it gives me a break, yes. You can't hide from him forever.' Helena told her, sitting cross-legged on her floor.
"But what if he…" Amy trailed off.
'If he does, when we get the dagger, I'll kill him.'
"But what if you die? He's Rumpelstiltskin." Amy responded with concern.
Helena laughed, 'Ha! He can try.'
Amy gave a forlorn smile, "I miss you, Helena."
'Then get the crocodile's dagger, find a way home, and come back to me already." Helena answered, "Please, I need you to come back and save me from Dylan or more accurately him from me. Once Emma leaves, I have no one to stop me from killing him.'
"Great, so I need to come back to help bury the body. Got it!" Amy responded.
'Sure, that works. Now, go talk to your father.'
"But Helena…" Amy whined. Helena glared at her. "Fine, I don't know why I'm doing this you aren't even here."
Helena laughed in victory and disappeared. Her job done. Amy got up and left her room in search of the man she feared the most, "I hate fear. He's nothing but a man."
Amy found him at his spindle, "Hi, Papa. How are you?"
"Do you need something, Rosa?" Rumple answered annoyed at the interruption.
"Company. I mean I love books and characters, but it's not the same. And we haven't talked in a while."
"I saw you for lessons an hour ago, Rosette. If you can't see, I'm sort of busy at the moment." Rumple responded.
"Oh… right." Amy sighed mournfully, Why did I come down here? Oh, yeah, Helena told me to. 'Then stop complaining! You're his daughter! Demand his attention.' "Why can't you spin while we talk?"
"Because, Rosa, this is the only time I have to think." Rumple said in a low frustrated voice, "So unless you have a pressing matter to tell me, I'm afraid you'll just have to wait."
"Ha." Amy rolled her eyes and spat, "I'm sure if I were Mom or your precious son, Baelfire, you'd bother to spend time with me. I'm lonely, and the only person I can talk to, my father, won't talk to me!"
Rumple stopped spinning, "If you came down here to annoy me, Rosette, I suggest you leave now before things get worse for you."
"Fine!" Amy huffed, "Stick to your precious spindle!" She dramatically exited the library. She transported herself to her bedroom throwing herself on her bed, "Ugh! Forget it. Why couldn't Belle be here? Oh, because Regina's got her locked in a tower. Just my luck… I just want to see people, go to a ball. What's the point of being in a fairytale if I can't do those things? Wait, I'm Rapunzel! Flynn Ryder, come save me."
Amy got up and started singing, "7 a.m. the usual morning line up, start on the floors, and sweep till the floor's all clean. Polish and wax. Do laundry and mop and shine up. Sweep again and by then it's like 7:15. And so I'll read a book or maybe two or three. I'll add a few new paintings to my gallery. I'll play guitar and knit and cook and just basically wonder when will my life begin? Then after lunch, it's puzzles and darts and baking. Paper Mache, a bit of ballet and chess. Pottery, ventriloquy, candle-making, then I'll stretch, maybe sketch, take a climb, sew a dress."
"Then I'll reread the books if I have time to spare. I'll paint the walls some more, I'm sure there's room somewhere and then I'll brush and brush and brush and brush my hair. Stuck in the same place I've always been. And I'll keep wondering and wondering and wondering and wondering, when will my life begin?" Amy sat against her window staring out at Snow's Castle, "Sometime soon, a ball will commence just like when fairytales come true. What would it be like to dance through the night? Now that I'm older Papa might just let me go."
She stared out the window longingly as it began to get dark, she looked up at the stars. "Second star to the right and straight on till morning." Amy cuddled her head into the stone, exhausted, "Peter Pan…" She mumbled, then she suddenly jumped off the window into her room, "Pan! His cuff. You idiot! Where would that be? Rumple has it. I think. So… where? Think, Amy, think… If I were Rumple, where would I keep it? Remember… brain work for me." Amy thought through all the season in her head, "Bae… the vault. Blood magic. Wonderful. Now is Papa, ah! I mean, Rumple, home or not? I did not just call him Papa by myself… help me, Helena! I'm losing my mind."
Amy's door flew open, "Meet me in the dining room in ten minutes." Rumple ordered, Crap! He heard me. I'm doomed. He started to turn then remembered, "Oh, and wear this." He flicked his wrist making a dark blue sweetheart neckline dress appear on her bed and exited. Ah! It's beautiful! Maybe he didn't hear me.
"Yay!" Amy used her magic to put it on along with the appropriate tiara, hairstyle, jewelry, and slippers. "I'm a princess!" She transported herself to the dining room where a feast was set. "Wow! I've never seen so much food in my life!" She started humming 'Be our Guest!'
"Welcome, Rosette. Now stop standing around and sit." Rumple sat at the head of the table motioning at the chair at the tail of the table, which magically moved back.
Amy had other plans. She magicked the chair to his right-hand side, "This way we don't have to yell at each other." She explained as she sat down.
Rumple raised an eyebrow at her but said nothing on the subject, instead praising her. "I'm glad to see you are using your magical abilities quite well, Rosa."
"Thank you, Papa. I learned from the best." Amy returned the compliment as she ate the swan in front of her.
They ate in silence for a while, being five minutes, because Amy has never been able to stand silence. Too much time for her brain to overthink everything. "This dress is beautiful, Papa. Wherever did you get it?"
Rumple looked up from his food, "A princess gifted it to me today in exchange for some problem that she needed fixed. At least it came to some use."
I'm just going to ignore that… it's better I don't ask. "Well, thank you. I really love it!"
"I was thinking you could wear it to a wedding ceremony in two weeks. I have some business there." Rumple answered as though what he was offering was a casual occurrence.
"Really?!" Amy's eyes got extremely excited, receiving a look from Rumple. She calmed down returning to her food, "Who's wedding is it, Papa?"
"Snow White and Prince James' or David, as it is now."
Great! Two weeks… I can do this… right? "I look forward to it." Amy replied then finished eating.
"Excuse me, Rosa. I'm afraid I am being summoned." Rumple rose from his seat.
"Oh…" Amy rose from her seat as well, "Thank you, Papa!" She hugged him, "This has been wonderful!"
"Yes, yes. Now go read something or whatever you do when I'm away." Rumple said shooing away the affection, "Goodnight, Rosette." He vanished into the smoke.
"Great. Now to find his staff/walking stick. Whatever you call it." Amy changed directions, "Ah! I love this dress so much!" She squealed and spun in it. "Sorry, okay. His staff… wait." I need Rumpelstiltskin's walking stick.
It appeared in her hand. "I love magic." Amy twirled the staff like a baton. A cabinet opened behind her. "Wait, is this too easy? Well, either I get it now or never. Right?" Amy looked into the vault. "Woah! Thor's hammer!" Amy went to lift it up. "I'm worthy! Haha! Or you're not actually Jonathan. Yeah, no. I somehow doubt the Dark One is worthy of such an item. Eh… it still looks awesome!" She put the hammer back down in its place. "Where is the cuff?" She looked over her shoulder expecting Rumple to appear any moment. "Come on! Where are you?" Cuff appear. "Nope… ugh."
Amy searched through the vault. Her body was basically in it when she found it far in the back. "Great! Now to quickly reorganize everything." Please, stay away. Please. Please. Please. She begged over and over again as she put everything back in its place.
Once she succeeded, she closed the vault magically and transported herself to the library. "Whew. That was close." She grabbed a book to read and waited for Rumple's return.
Hello everyone, this chapter is Amy's as ever, if y'all have comments for her I will happily pass them along.
