Chapter 5: Locomotive Lockdown-Part 2 (Part five of Dead Ahead)

As Byakuya, Makoto, Chihiro, and Yasuhiro made their way toward the armory, they met up with Mondo, Hifumi, Kiyotaka, and Leon, who were finished tinkering with their weapons at the weapon workshop. Leon had added a charm to his Grease Gun, a 9x19 Parabellum bullet casing. Mondo had modified his M1928 Thompson for a faster fire rate, more stopping power, and increased damage. Kiyotaka had stuck a Ka-Bar blade under the barrel of his Webley revolver and added the explosive attachment for more damage and the added perk of explosive dismemberment. And to top it all off, Hifumi modified his M1897 trench gun to carry another two shells and an electric bayonet. As the eight former soldiers grabbed what munitions they could find and carry, they waited for the girls to finish up at target practice.

(Meanwhile, with the girls)

"...and that girls, is the story of how we all met each other." Sayaka finished.

"Wow! That was one heck of a story, Sayaka!" Junko chirped in with awe, "I didn't know that Sakura could go toe-to-toe with my sister at quick drawing!"

"Yes, Junko," Sakura responded, "Mukuro taught me that brute strength is just as ineffective if you don't include finesse when fighting an opponent."

"I told you that, Sakura," Mukuro piped in, "I also told you about the finer points of knife fighting, by the way."

"You should've told me about the time that you inducted me into our OSS squad, Mukuro," Celeste chirped in, "I still remember when all eight of us had to cut a lock of hair from our heads to finalize the initiation into the squad."

"C-come on, Celeste," Toko spoke in a nervous tone, "I-I still remember the time when Chihiro p-poured laxatives on Byakuya's steak."

"Yep," Junko giggled as she chimed in, "I swear to god, he was shitting his guts out every second! I just can't stop laughing every time I think about it!"

"I also talked about that when telling my story, Junko," Sayaka responded as she giggled, "Ï couldn't imagine what the stench was in the mess hall during that incident!"

"Come on, Sayaka," Aoi joined in with a smile, "I heard that Chihiro even came up with a new nickname for him after that incident!"

"What was his new nickname, Celeste?" Kyoko giggled as she spoke, "What did he call Byakuya?"

"He had started calling him Deuce," Celeste responded with a smile, "and it got even funnier when Sayaka told everybody about what happened!"

"Hehe, I can't stop laughing every time he gets called that nickname, girls," Mukuro spoke as she tried to hold in her laughter, "It sort of became his new name after a while."

"Yes, sis," Junko spoke as she as well tried to hold in her laughter, "That nickname has become sort of a running joke among everybody in the kill squad by the way."

"Oh yes," Sakura spoke, also trying to hold in her laughter, "at least it didn't give him long-term harm."

"Anyways girls," Sayaka spoke in a serious tone, "We need to get to the train and get the hell out of here. The longer we stay here, the more we're less likely to survive this horror show."

"I-I agree with you, Sayaka," Toko quipped in, "A-All of us know that we don't want to die at the hands of rotten abominations that devour the first living thing they see in front of them."

"Yes, Toko," Aoi chirped in, "We don't know if this station is going to survive. All I know is that it's unsafe, so I agree with you."

"Just staying here makes me wonder that a breach is going to happen any minute," Mukuro spoke, "so I agree with Sayaka. It's just too dangerous to stay put here."

"Yeah, sis," Junko chirped in as well, "This place could collapse at any second, so I agree. We should get to a safer place."

"Well, before we go," Sakura spoke, "I think that we should go get supplies that we're low on, like ammo and grenades because if we get caught in the horde without anything, we're screwed."

"Yep, I agree with Sakura," Kyoko quipped in, "We're low on ammo. To add onto that, who knows what undead horrors dwell outside the base."

"We also have to go to the weapon workshop to repair or upgrade our weapons," Celeste spoke up, "because it's just as bad not having a working or ineffective gun in the middle of a horde."

"Alright, girls," Sayaka spoke, "Let's head to the weapon workshop."

The girls then slung their rifles behind their backs and made their way towards the Weapon Workshop, which was across from the shooting range and next to the radio workshop where Edie was working on Yasuhiro's broken radio.

(Meanwhile, back with the boys)

"Where the hell are they?" Makoto spoke with concern, "They were supposed to meet up with us right now!"

As soon as he said that, he saw the girls exiting the shooting range and making their way toward the weapon workshop where he and the rest of the boys were at.

"What took you eight so long?!" Byakuya spoke with a stern voice, "We were going to leave the saferoom and make our way towards the train without you!"

"Sorry for that, Togami," Sayaka spoke with a smile, "We were talking about the time that Chihiro added laxatives to your steak and the new nickname that he gave you after that incident."

"Oh, no," Byakuya grumbled in disgust, "I don't want to remember that incident again."

That caused everyone in his squad, excluding him and Toko, to chuckle at the mention of what happened before they came to the train station. The first members of his squad to hear about what happened to him were Chihiro, Aoi, Yasuhiro, and Sayaka, who then told his co-leader and friend, Makoto. Then to add to that, Sayaka told everyone else in his squad about what happened to him, and everybody started laughing about what happened. They only stopped laughing when he entered the room himself. Otherwise, all fourteen of them were mentioning it behind his back and laughing about it, much to his and Toko's chagrin. Even somebody as serious as Taka couldn't hold back his laughter at the mere mention of the laxatives being poured.

"Guys, stop this!" Byakuya yelled sternly, "You're going to make things worse for me! Please! This isn't cool, guys!"

But they still wouldn't stop laughing about what happened a few weeks ago, and they were laughing even harder than before.

"I can't believe I have to do this yet again," Byakuya sighed in disgust. He reached behind his back and pulled out his JP Sauer M30 Drilling shotgun. He loaded a blank into one of the barrels, pointed it straight up, and fired.

*CLICK-BOOM*

But much to his and Toko's chagrin, they still couldn't stop laughing. So he and Toko decided to leave the room until they stopped, which they did after what seemed like ten minutes. Then both of them came back into the room once things have calmed down.

"Alright people," Makoto's voice then switched to a more serious tone, "Where did we leave off?"

"Well," Celeste spoke, "I think that we were going to resupply and rearm ourselves, right Makoto?"

"Yes, Celeste," Makoto responded, "Everybody, fix or upgrade your weapons, and reload and rearm yourselves. I don't want anybody leaving this place with an empty or a broken weapon."

As everybody checked on their guns, Makoto then made his way to the Radio Workshop where Edie was working on Yasuhiro's broken SCR-300 Radio.

"How's the progress, Edie?" Makoto questioned, "Are the repairs finished?"

"They're almost done," Edie responded, "All I need to do is to solder these wire connections and it'll be working as good as new. So please leave me alone for now, this is the hardest part of the repair and I need no distractions when I do it."

"I'll give you as much time as possible, Edie," Makoto spoke, "Just hold tight while I get my kill squad ready to move out."

As he left the radio workshop, he then walked to the nearest ammunition crate, took out his Modified Winchester M2 Carbine, his Modified Auto-Ordanance M1928 Thompson SMG, and his Modified Colt M911 Semi-Automatic Pistol, detached their ammo clips, and started to load them while thinking about what would they do after they got out of this place.
