disclaimer: We do not own any of the OUAT characters. Just our added characters.
Extra info: This story has two writers. One of us writes Helena and the other writes Amy. You will notice a difference in how Helena's and Amy's perspectives are portrayed, we wrote them like we ourselves notice/see things. Fair warning: we are insane. Enjoy!
It was two o'clock in the morning, Amy sat at the head of the dining room table with a quill in hand finishing up her book, "Helena! Look, it's finished!" Amy presented Helena with the finished draft like a child showing her mother a picture.
'Great job! Plan on freeing my brother anytime soon? I mean I don't mind him as a Griffin but that way I can hurt him when he's annoying.' Helena reminded her of her task as she sat at the table with her computer in front of her.
"I completely forgot." Amy was reminded of the horror that she forgot about her friend.
'Well, he's in the kitchen rummaging through your food and making a mess now. Thank you! So I can't cook and instead, I'm typing on this really slow computer. So can you fix this, so I can make cookies?'
Amy's eyes widen and she rushes into the kitchen to find pieces of meat, fruit, flour, and many other random ingredients violently scattered across the kitchen. The griffin was tearing up a raw piece of meat he found in the cellar. Amy processed the room around her before turning to the griffin.
"Zach!" Amy hissed at the griffin. She pinched her nose as the griffin dropped the slimy piece of meat at her feet as a peace offering. His tail went between his legs as he sat giving her the griffin's version of puppy eyes as he stared up at her. She sighed, "This is my fault. I've been neglecting you. I'm sorry." She petted his back as a token of apology, "Let's just clean this up so Helena can bake us something."
Zach shook himself and became once again hyper. Amy turned around to clean up magically. She hummed 'A spoonful of sugar' as she cleaned.
Helena walked in as she was finishing, 'Wonderful! Now, every last one of you out of my kingdom, before I send my flying monkeys after you!' She cackled. Amy and Zach left the kitchen. Zach walked on ahead of Amy, his tail swishing happily.
Amy felt a sense of motivation to bring him back to his human form. "That's it! Come on, Zach! To the library!"
Amy walked full force down the hall. Her mind overthinking every section of her new plan. "All it is is transfiguration. If I could find a book on that…" Amy sighed as she approached the library door. Zach looked intently at the knob waiting for her to open it. "Hermione or Sabrina would be helpful right now. Or Belle… Mom I guess, she is now." She referred to all the imaginary bookworms she could think of either made up by others or herself.
Zach squawked at her to pull her out of her thoughts. "Right, I'm sorry. In you go." Amy opened the door. Zach flew in and perched himself in a corner.
She looked up to find Belle or Hermione coming off the ladder, "Rosette! Dear, I've come to help. Is this your friend?" She nodded towards the griffin.
"Mom? How did you…?" Amy stumbled over her words as Emma Watson's Belle descended the ladder with books.
"I've been here the whole time. I never leave. It's the only place to find decent information. Here." Belle or Hermione, Amy was still conflicted about whom she was talking to, said as they laid a book out in front of her.
Amy looked at the book on dark and light magic that she had read many times over. "There's nothing in here. I've gone over it a hundred times!"
"But did you read the section…" Belle/Hermione flipped through the pages, "Here. On Animangi."
Amy looked at the page she was being shown, it was there. How did I miss that? "But, Zach can't control it. Can't Animangi control it?"
"He should by now," Belle/Hermione thought aloud, " But, I believe Rumple added a sleeping curse to the spell that keeps him between dimensions."
"Please tell me I don't have to kiss him." Amy facepalmed, Not ready for that. Thanks!
"No," A redhead said from the couch, "You shouldn't."
Amy shook her head, "Sabrina?" Amy watched the character she had written sit as clear as day in front of her.
"Yes, I'm here, Maria. Anthony is here too, but more so to accompany me and keep you in line." Sabrina laughed.
Amy processed that she was now also playing the character that she had based herself on. Maria, not Maria Gold, but she used the same name that she had been obsessed with for years, no one knew why. This Maria was a princess in her made-up land. Sabrina was her twin sister and Anthony was the general and Sabrina's love interest. Maria and Anthony, in the story, had a very fun comedic friendship that usually got one or both in trouble. So on top of retaining her own personality for Zach and Helena, now she had to play Rosette with Belle and Rumple- when of course he happened to show up- and Princess Maria with Sabrina and Anthony.
Thank goodness they are similar enough to my personality, but there are so many backstories to keep up with! Amy curtsied, "Welcome, thank you for escorting my sister." She thanked Anthony who stood behind Sabrina in a militant stance.
"It was my pleasure, your highness. And once again, I find you with a griffin." Anthony joked as he looked up at the creature above them.
"Wait… you can see him?" Anna looked at him in disbelief. Anthony, in her story, was blind through the majority of the book, so this confused her.
"Of course, your highness, how can you not? I would love the chance to fly him if you would be so kind as to let me." Anthony asked.
"I see no problem with that, but later. We have to find a way to help him first. Also, it's only us and our friends, we can drop the formality." Amy decided. Maria, in her book, never liked the false sincerity of formality when she was around friends and Amy could understand, it was exhausting.
Sabrina turned her focus to Belle/Hermione, "Miss…"
"Belle is fine." Belle told Sabrina her name. So, that's who she is. But, she definitely is Hermione as well, because Belle wouldn't know of Animangi. Maybe a split personality? Amy decided.
"Belle," Sabrina nodded in courtesy, "You said he is under a love potion, like in fairy tales. You said this puts him in between dimensions. Therefore, he is between a sleeping and an awakened state. Perhaps there is a way to communicate with him? He will have to gain control of the griffin as this animangi before he loses himself to the griffin. Maybe, he will have an idea of where to start."
"Yes, but the griffin will have to allow human Zach control. Right now, the griffin has complete control to decide when Zach gets the spotlight. The only time he lets Zach appear is when the griffin wants to sleep." Belle explained her observations to Sabrina, "Zach will have to fight for predominance."
Amy had been sitting cross-legged on the floor this entire time, listening and taking notes. She looked up at them, "So, we need him to sleep?"
"Yes, but the griffin will not want to give up his control." Belle restated.
Amy shrugged, "All we need to do is wear him out. He'll fall asleep and we can talk to Zach." She turned to Anthony, "General, how about we take that flight?"
Anthony's smile widened and his green eyes became vibrant in anticipation. "If that is what your highness wishes."
"I do." Amy replied.
"You do what?" Rumple entered in on their conversation, very confused.
"Nothing, Papa. Are you leaving?" Amy asked.
"Who are all these people?"
Sabrina waved, "Sabrina."
Anthony bowed slightly, "General Anthony at your service."
"Belle." Belle/Hermione looked up from her book.
"No, you aren't Belle! Not my Belle! Rosette, this is not your mother." Rumple told Amy, "Get rid of the illusions, you're done playing." He stood her up on her feet.
"They're not illusions, Papa. They're here to help." Amy told him, looking intently at him.
Rumple looked over his daughter multiple times, trying to come to a decision, "Rosette, my flower, you are not well. I will be back later today with more help."
"Wonderful, Papa! We need all the help we can get. Thank you!" Amy hugged him. Rumple accepted the hug, then apparated.
"Has Rumple forgotten me already?" Belle asked.
"I wouldn't read into it. He's insane." Amy told her mother. She turned to Anthony who was petting the griffin, "Let's see if we can tire him out so we can talk to Zach."
Just then Helena entered with a tray of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, "Look, I baked cookies!... Now, if only I had some milk." She set them on the table with a jug of milk appearing beside it, and everyone dug into them before going out to fly the griffin.
As we enter this time gap in the OUAT storyline Amy and I decided that her character would need to be followed more closely than mine. Hence, an increase in her chapters. if you have questions or comments please leave a review or message me. love yall!
