Zombie Army 4: Ultimate Dead War

Chapter 9: Off The Rails-Part 2 (Part nine of Dead Ahead)

OST: Zombie Army 4: Dead War OST: At A Time Like This

Now that the kill squad had made their way out of the station's safe room, they were greeted by the sight of a large horde of zombies shuffling toward them.

"Oh, my Christ," Sayaka was shocked at what she saw in front of the squad, "That's a lot of undead Nazis!"

"They're just like the others!" As everybody raised their weapons, Makoto ordered, "Everyone, be careful!"

As members of the kill squad fired at the zombies, other members of the kill squad threw fragmentation grenades at the advancing horde, crippling and shredding many of the zombies apart and killing just as many in the process. As the other members of the kill team mopped up the rest of the horde, Aoi, Sayaka, Chihiro, and Byakuya saw a supply crate that was twice as big as the regular munitions crates and was painted yellow instead of blue or green.

"I wonder what's inside that crate," Sayaka spoke, "I hope that it will help us get out of this mess."

"I sure hope so, Sayaka," Chihiro responded, "I'm starting to want to relax after all of this. Blowing zombie heads off was never something I wanted to do SO often."

"Well there's only one way to find out, Chihiro," Mondo spoke as he shot one of the remaining zombies with his modified Smith and Wesson M1917 Revolver, "We've got to bust that crate open."

"So, Aoi, do you want to do the honors?" Byakuya turned to Aoi, "Let's see what's inside."

"With pleasure, Togami," Aoi responded, "Whatever is in that crate, it'll help us survive until we get to the train."

Aoi then went to the supply crate and hit off its lock with her knife, then opened it. Inside the crate, there were nineteen screwable muzzle breaks, each made for the secondary weapons they carried. Also, the muzzle breaks were sparking with electricity and glowed a pale blue. Aoi couldn't believe her eyes at what she saw inside the crate.

"Hey, everybody!" Aoi announced, "Look at what I found inside the crate!"

As everybody looked inside the crate, Chihiro's radio started beeping again.

"What is it, Edie?" Chihiro questioned, "What did we find?"

"Hey, hotshots!" Edie's energetic voice came through the radio, "I see that you've found some weapon attachments! They're only a single-use, but they should give your guns some added oomph! Have fun!"

"Thanks, Edie," Makoto spoke through the radio, "We owe you one."

After everybody had screwed on electric muzzle breaks to the barrels of their secondary guns, they then made their way to the mouth of one of the station's ruined underpass that would lead them to the station platform that their train was waiting at.

"I don't like it down here," Aoi spoke nervously, "It's very dark, and flooded as well. I have a feeling that something bad is going to happen down here."

"But we have to push on, Aoi," Byakuya spoke with determination, "Either we survive and get out of this hellhole, or we just do nothing and die here."

As the sixteen zombie hunters descended into the darkness of the underpass, they turned on the underslung flashlights that their guns were equipped with and waded through the flooded tunnel. As they made their way through the dark and wet underpass, they heard the tunnel echo with the loud demonic roar-like shrieks and screams of zombies as they emerged from the water of the flooded underpass in front of them like flares being fired from a flare gun.

"Damn it!" Makoto yelled in anger and shock as he raised his Thompson SMG, "The bastards are coming out of the water!"

"Out of the water?!" Kyoko yelled in shock then she barked as she raised her Sten SMG, "Everyone, get ready to fight in close quarters!"

"I'll stay close to Aoi and the others," Sakura yelled as she raised her MG42, "Let's push these undead Nazi bastards back!"

"I'll keep you safe, Master Togami," Toko yelled as she raised her MP40 SMG, "I won't let any of these infernal creatures near your face!"

"I don't need your help, Toko," Byakuya called back as he drew his M30 Drilling, "but you do make an adequate shield for me to stand behind."

"Ok!" Aoi gritted her teeth as she raised her STG 44 Assault Rifle, "Let's tear these undead sons of bitches apart like the rotten jackasses they are!"

"Alright then," Makoto gritted his teeth as well and raised his Thompson SMG before roaring in a loud and angry voice, "Everybody! LIGHT THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS THE FUCK UP!"

The silence in the tunnel was broken by a combination of loud gunfire coming from the sixteen kill squad members shooting the undead and the pained roars and screams of the undead as they were shot apart by an assortment of modified shotguns, pistols, submachine guns, machine guns, and assault rifles as they fought to hold their ground and push forward. As they pushed, they covered each other while reloading by taking out the zombies that were the closest to them. It was a madhouse down in the pedestrian underpass as the zombie hunters were sprayed and caked with the blood, bones, and flesh of the zombies that they killed.

"Mondo!" Chihiro yelled as he fired his shotgun at the zombies, "I'll need some help over here!"

"I've got your six, little man!" Mondo yelled back as he blasted a bunch of zombies with his Thompson SMG, "Just stay vigilant!"

"Mondo!" Leon yelled as he struck one of the zombies with a baseball bat, "I'll help Hifumi over here!"

"I-I've got this, Leon!" Hifumi yelled as he fired his STG-44 Assault rifle at the advancing horde, "I don't need your help over here!"

"You're voice's cracking in fear, big boy," Leon called back as he blasted a zombie with his Modified M3 Grease Gun SMG, "I think you need me right now!"

"Jesus Christ!" Junko yelled as she fired her Sten SMG, "These sons of bitches are ugly!"

"Now isn't the time for fooling around, Junko!" Mukuro yelled at her sister as she blasted a zombie with her STG-44 Assault rifle, "We have to hold these things off!"

"Hiro!" Celeste yelled as she shot a zombie with her modified Smith and Wesson M1917 Revolver, "Stop fooling around and help us kill these zombies!"

"I'm trying to help here, Celeste!" Hiro yelled back as he shot a zombie with his modified Molot PPSh-41 SMG, "It's hard to concentrate when someone's yelling in your ear!"

"I'm...ahem, I'm yelling to get your mind straight, Hiro!" Celeste yelled as she drew her knife and stabbed a zombie in the neck, "We can't do this unless you give all of your concentration and shoot down those zombies!"

"Try to be a little easy on him, okay Celeste?" Sayaka called to Celeste as she gunned down a zombie with her Sterling L2A3 SMG, "He's kinda new to this zombie-killing thing, you know?"

"If he was this clumsy, they could ve found someone else." Celeste thought to herself in confusion as she shot a zombie to pieces with her Sten SMG, "Was the resistance that desperate?"

The sixteen soldiers fought through the horde of undead that ambushed them and made their way to the other entrance of the underpass, which was swarming with undead.

"I got this, guys!" Leon yelled, "Everybody, get down!"

After everyone except Leon crouched down, he took a sticky grenade from his utility belt, pulled the fuse, and threw it at the horde in front of the station. The grenade stuck onto one of the zombies, then exploded, killing and shredding apart the horde instantly.

"Good work, Leon," Byakuya spoke, "Everybody, let's push on!"

As they made their way through the train station, Toko saw a bullet-activated explosive decoy trap on the platform they were on. When she saw that the zombies had started to emerge from the boxcars around the entire squad, Toko had an idea. She aimed her gun at the trigger and fired, causing the trap to activate and attract the zombies around it with a loud ringing noise. When the ringing noise had ended, the decoy then exploded, sending metal shrapnel all over the horde, killing many of them and shredding many more.

"Oh, hell yeah!" Toko shouted in delight, "That's what I'm talking about!"

"Good work, Toko!" Makoto responded, "Everybody, let's push on towards the train!"

As they pushed towards the station's overpass, all sixteen of them heard loud demonic screaming and saw a mob of Suicider zombies running towards them like stampeding cattle.

"Oh great," all sixteen of them sighed in disgust as they raised their secondary weapons, "More of these explosive sons of bitches?!"

After all of the suiciders were killed, they heard the sound of another blood seal that they didn't see shatter and looked at the gate of one of the station's overpasses. The force from the blood seal exploding caused the gates of the barricaded overpass to swing open like the doors of the ticket booth. When they saw that the overpass's gates were open, the sixteen zombie hunters climbed the stair and onto the platform of the overpass. When they got on top of the platform, they saw a small shanty house that was on the platform in front of the overpass's supports surrounded by a large horde of zombies.

"Hey, over here! Help us!" somebody inside the shanty house yelled in terror, "We can't get out!"

"Makoto!" Junko yelled, "There are survivors inside! We have to save them!"

"Crap, Junko," Makoto shouted back, "You're right! Everybody, clear a path through! Let's bulldoze these bastards!"

OST: Zombie Army 4: Il Mondo Nuovo

As kill Squad 78 cleared a path towards the shanty house, the zombies had started to break open the door, threatening the resistance members trapped inside.

"They're coming through the door!" another one of the resistance members yelled in terror, "We can't get out!"

"Hold on for a bit longer, soldiers!" Sakura yelled in response, "We're coming to save you!"

"I don't want to die!" one of the resistance members inside the shanty house shouted, "Please! I don't want to die!"

When the zombie hunters got to the house, Makoto, Sakura, Mondo, Junko, Chihiro, Mukuro, Byakuya, and Sayaka formed a perimeter around the front of the house, while the rest of the kill squad went inside and helped kill the zombies that got past the eight people outside.

"Thank god," one of the trapped resistance members sighed in relief as he opened a safe inside the shanty house, "I thought we were done for. I know it's not much, but please, take this. It should help you out." Inside the safe were some spare medkits and extra weapon attachments, which the kill squad took.

"Thanks for the items soldier," Leon said as he walked outside where the rest of the kill squad was, "Wait till it's safe, then run away and get out of this hell hole."

As the kill squad made their way back onto the station's overpass, they felt the ground shaking again. Outside, a train was escaping the ruined station. As it moved, the ground underneath the tracks collapsed, swallowing both the train and the tracks it was riding on into a pit of burning lava. The loud noises, the screams of those that were inside, and the crashing caused the kill squad to turn towards it, where they were shocked by what happened.

"Woah!" Makoto yelled in shock, "What the hell?!"

"Oh, my," Celeste gasped in horror, "What just happened to the train?!"

Hifumi and Hiro shouted and screamed in shock and terror when they saw the train being swallowed by the fiery chasm of lava and flame.

"W-What the fuck just happened?!" Byakuya exclaimed in anger, "How did the earth swallow that train?!"

"W-What just happened?!" Aoi yelled in shock, "What the fuck did I just see?!"

"What hellish anomaly could've caused this?!" Sakura yelled in a similar tone to Aoi, "That's impossible!"

"H-How did that happen?!" Leon shouted in shock, "Holy fucking hell!"

"What the fuck?!" Mondo yelled in both anger and disbelief, "What the fuck could have done that?!"

"T-Thank goodness we weren't inside of that one!" Chihiro sighed in a small window of relief. "That would've been a bad idea!"

"We have to be careful when we're moving along, guys," Kyoko spoke, "We don't want to suffer the same fate as those who are on the train."

"That's not something that we can question right now, everybody," Junko barked, "Look down below!"

Down in the remaining ground that wasn't swallowed by the lava, zombies were emerging from the cursed earth, having been summoned by the same unknown demonic powers that brought them into attacking the base.

"Junko's right, everybody." Mukuro barked in a similar tone to her sister's, "We can't let ourselves fall short now! The resistance needs us ready to take on the undead!"

"Ok then, Mukuro," Makoto gritted his teeth as he raised his Thompson SMG, "Everybody! Push forward to the signal house! Our train's waiting for us there!"
