Chapter 22 ~ Disturbing
(Meanwhile Stefan)
"So your telling me that you and Elena are doppelgangers that exist to break a curse that was put on Klaus by witches?" I ask mostly in shock still.
"Yes, according to Klaus brother Elijah. He explained this to me the night I ran to keep from having my blood spilled on a rock!" Katherine says bored while staring at her nails.
"So because your a Vampire now Klaus needs Elena because she's human, a Vampire, a Werewolf (gulping) and a Witch?" I ask...interrupted by Katherine who says too calmly "And the Moon stone."
"I didn't even know Werewolf's existed!" I state exasperated now.
"Yes Stefan, they do." she adds giving me a stern look.
I sit back, still in shock and not sure if I believe all this yet and then it clicks...
"So that's why you killed Caroline...Vampire... you needed Elena, Bonnie as the Witch, but where does the Werewolf and Moonstone come from?" as I ask the hairs are standing on the back of my neck and there is a feeling of dread in my stomach.
"Actually Stefan, Klaus travels with his own witches but the Werewolf and Moonstone come from one and the same...Lockwood's!" she states with a secret smirk.
"Lockwood's? The Mayor is a Werewolf? Tyler?" a sudden rush of fear taking over me.
"They all carry the Gene but not all become Werewolves. They have to trigger the Curse by killing a Human at their own hands, on purpose or by accident. They have the Moonstone because I gave it to George." Katherine speaks so fast that I need a minute for my brain to catch up...
"George Lockwood?...1864 George?"
"Yes, I gave it to him in exchange for rescue from the church before they set it on fire." her eyes are wide and she stares at me..
"We were told by Anna a guard rescued you?" I ask confused
"It was a guard Stefan, one of George's Payoffs. I had to fake my death, hoping it would get Klaus off my tail once and for all!" she then sighs and looks a little sad.
"But you said Klaus needed a human to break the curse and you were a Vampire in 1864 when you faked your death?" I asked with even more confusion.
"Okay Stefan, let's recap, shall we? Klaus was not happy that I turned to avoid the Sacrifice, so in revenge mode he chased me. I am assuming to kill me! Soo I ran and ran and I grew very tired of running so I came up with a plan to fake my death and it worked for awhile until Klaus got wind of the Tomb Vampires and that they were protected and unburned and that I was not one of them and he figured it out. It was only a matter of time he would come for me again! I came here because a little birdy told me about Elena. It's perfect. She's human, turn Caroline, get the moonstone from the Lockwood's and trigger the curse in one of them, and give them all over to Klaus in exchange for my freedom from running." Katherine says with irritation
"So why did you just disappear and not follow through?" I ask my eyes narrowed with an accusatory stare.
"Another little birdy told me Elijah was near Mystic Falls so I bolted, afraid he would catch me and take me to Klaus!" the fear is back in her eyes like the first time she spoke of Klaus and I am just not trusting her at all right now so I continue...
"So now your just suddenly back with a change of heart! To save Elena instead of trade her? You expect me to believe that B.S.?" I state more than ask with my voice full of anger now
"Turns out Elijah wanted to meet with me to tell me that he himself is secretly after Klaus, he wants to kill him! So I told him of my plan and he wants to use Elena to draw him out and kill him while Klaus is vulnerable during the sacrifice." Katherine says nonchalantly like it's no big deal grrrr
"During!" I yell with a snarl and growl at her
"Exactly, which puts Elena in danger. I had to of coarse go along with him, he is an original and Klaus brother, he can kill me! That is why I am here telling you so you can have the chance to save Elena!" she adds
"Oh and you just suddenly care for Elena!" I spit out!
"Let's just say I have other secret intentions." she says with a devious smile
"Like what? Why should I trust you?" I'm standing now ready to fight her. Katherine starts to walk around me, hands on her swaying hips and says:
"That's easy, # 1 I want Klaus dead.
# 2 My intentions do not involve Elena
# 3 I have Emily's Grimoire with a time travel spell that could save Elena and stop Elijah and Klaus plans." Katherine purrs out
"You just said that Elijah wants Klaus dead but needs Elena to do it! So why would you time travel Elena? Then there would be no plan to kill Klaus! So he would still come after you!" I shout at her!
"I can pretend to be Elena for the ritual, you know I have gotten quite good at being her. The doppelganger is sacrificed last so Klaus will already be in the first phase of transition to Werewolf, which will still make him vulnerable enough to kill! Even if he gets so far as to drain me, I will come back to life Stefan! Hello Vampire here. She adds with a smirk
"An original Vampire would know your not human Katherine!" I'm yelling in anger and now frustration.
"Not if Bonnie does a spell that gives me a heartbeat." she says softly as she winks at me
"I still don't get why you would do this for Elena! I know you hate her!" I growl
"Listen Stefan, I have my reasons. Take it or leave it. I can take off right now and Run because I'm pretty damned good at it! Then Elijah will come if Klaus does not beat him to it! They will come for her! There is nowhere to hide with Elena being human and if Elijah knows there's a human doppelganger than you better believe Klaus will find out to, if he doesn't already know. Klaus has tricks you have never seen before or heard of Stefan! Time travel is her safest and only choice. So it's your choice. Rather I run Or stay and fight Klaus and help Elijah, and pretend to be Elena or Not!" she adds sarcastically
"What about Caroline or Tyler? Elena will not let anything happen to her friends! I belt out confidently
"That is not my problem Stefan. Time is running out. I will be in touch soon." she whispers and shes gone
I shake my head. I am completely mind boggled. It is all to much to take in! I need to talk to Bonnie and I frown as I realize I will have to tell Elena too, and eventually everyone else. I've been gone awhile, so I need to hunt quickly and clear my head. I need to go see Bonnie and think of an excuse to bail on Elena today. I check my cell that's been on vibrate and there is a text from Elena...
from: Elena
"I'm not feeling well so I went home to lay down for awhile, I will call you later. Luv U"
I continue to hunt and after a few rabbits and a deer I finally feel clear headed and calm enough to take out my cell again and with a dreadful tug in my gut...I call Bonnie...
(ring ring)
"Hello Stefan." Bonnie answers
"Bonnie, we need to talk." I state with a serious tone to my voice and she sounds just as serious when she replies...
"Yes, we do Stefan."
Note: okay I have been a little busy lately, a lot going on. I kind of dreaded this chapter because even though there is a bit of twist on this Sacrifice, we all are far to familiar with the Sacrifice plot on TVD. I am going to take it in a different direction, it will be one many fan-fiction writers have probably taken, but I can't help it I so want to take a shot at going back in time. I am nervous and scared at the same time lol, but I want to thank you all and the New followers and Please Review and a special thank you to Kfulmer7 for all your reviews and Excitement of the story which really encourages me to write more...especially now that I am caught up with my writing and it's time to write some more:) No worries there will be some more Damon/Elena to come very soon:) Thanks again to all the new followers and I really hope you are enjoying this story as much as I am writing it. ;)
