Chapter 23 ~ Date

(Damon's Date)

I quickly shut my cell and put it back in my pocket and proceeded to carry the picnic basket and blanket I retrieved from my trunk, back to Andie, who was standing at the bank staring at the Falls.

Part of me is glad Elena texted an apology and the other part of me wishes she hadn't. It was easier leaving her to go on this date when I was still angry and now she is fresh on my mind.

Why did I pick this God-forsaken location for a date? This spot was a Haven for me at one time, when I was human. A place to swim as a child, later a place of escape from my father and life, lastly a place of horror and nightmare's...where I turned into a Vampire and made my first Kill. Why did I bring Andie here? It's Elena, she is bringing out my Humanity! Dammit Elena!

Okay Damon...Focus...Andie is Blonde and Beautiful, a perfect distraction. Work your charm Damon...

"Andie, would you like to Picnic here on the bank? Or go to a picnic table?" I ask in my smooth tone.

"Um...right here is great Damon. The Falls are great! What a wonderful place for a first date." Andie replied smiling with a spark in her eyes.

I laid out the blanket and it took all of 2.5 seconds to realize my craving for Elena has been way too strong of a force lately, even when I was mad at her...Especially when I was mad at her. I knew I wasn't going to make it through this date without blood.

I vamped to Andie and grabbed her hair, jerked her head to the side and sank my K9's into her skin with great force and drank. I had an urge (due to frustration..I'm sure) to drain her dry, throw her into the water and leave...but I controlled myself and withdrew, blood running down my chin, frustration making me sloppy. I quickly wiped us both with a towel from the basket and compelled her to forget.

Now that I was sated some from Andies blood, I removed the food from the basket and did my best to have a normal fake/date. Small food, Small talk...I couldn't help looking away at the Falls ever so often and picturing Elena here with me instead. I could not get her out of my mind...no matter how hard I tried and I just wanted this Date to be Over.

(Meanwhile Stefan and Bonnie on the phone)

"I can't believe you did not tell Elena about Katherine!" Bonnie says angrily.

"Katherine didn't say much the first meeting and I didn't want to tell Elena until I knew for sure why she was here and what exactly she wanted. You know how upset Elena was the last time Katherine was here Bonnie." Stefan said with a pleading in his voice for Bonnie to understand.

"Do you believe what she is saying about Klaus and this Sacrifice?" Bonnie asked.

"I saw a fear in her eyes Bonnie that I have never seen before when she talked about this Klaus & Elijah. So I would be stupid not to at least consider taking her seriously, this is Elena we're talking about here Bonnie." Stefan said, his voice sincere with concern.

"Well we still need to find a way to confirm her story Stefan. Also, I have Emily's Grimoire, so how can she have it?" Bonnie asked in frustration.

"Maybe she has another one Bonnie, I don't know?"

Well I think we should meet with Caroline and put our heads together so we can figure out a way to confirm her story and contact her to find out what Grimoire she is talking about before we tell Elena any of this." she stated.

"I agree. I have the number Katherine called me from so I will call her and ask. Also, I will see if this Elijah can meet with us and confirm her story." Stefan said with relief that he was not alone in this anymore nor keeping it secret.

"Elena is not feeling well and told me she is laying down for awhile so I say we meet now." Stefan added.

"Okay, I will call Caroline right now and you call Katherine and head over to my house." Bonnie stated.

"It's a Date, See you in Ten minutes or so." Stefan said and ended the call.

(Meanwhile at Elena's)

(Knock Knock) "Elena, it's Jenna...are you awake?"

"Come in." Elena slurred groggily.

"Don't you want to eat? It is almost seven, I made you a plate and it's in the microwave. I'm headed out on a Date with Alaric and Jeremy already left to Tyler's house." Jenna said.

"I'm not feeling to well but thank you. I will eat a little later." Elena replied.

"Do you need anything before I leave?" Jenna asked her.

No, I'm fine but thank you anyways Aunt Jenna."

Jenna closed the door and I put the pillow over my head and tried to go back to sleep but now that I was awake, all I could do is think about Damon and his date with Andie. I threw my pillow and sighed and a quick thought popped in my head that I should call Damon but I quickly smushed the thought and decided to go downstairs and try to eat while everyone was out, so I could hide my depression.

As I got up off the bed and started to head toward the door I saw a figure move near my window out of the corner of my eye. I walked slowly back toward the window and saw it was almost dark so I switched off the lamp and then went over to the window seat and knelt and looked out. Leaves were floating down from the tree outside my window but I didn't see anyone out there, so I shrugged it off and headed downstairs to eat. After all my food cravings were the only craving I had control over lately and I needed to control something, even if it was only my dinner.

(Meanwhile Damon)

Elena almost saw me. Good thing I'm a Vampire/Creeping Stalker. I don't know how I ended up in that tree outside her window? Ending the date early with Andie today, driving her home, heading here to Elena's, watching her sleep, it's all a Blur until a few minutes ago when Elena almost saw me! I swear her blood now calls to me, like a ripple affect at first, flowing then turning into a raging current that carries me away, rushing me straight to Elena. Her scent was overwhelming...flowing through her open window right to the tree I was peeping from, like a night-time Jasmine putting me at ease with it's sweet fragrance. Then watching her wake and look so sad. I should have Never went on that date with Andie. Instead of getting in my car and going home, I so want to run back to that house and just go in her window and tell her I would rather be here with her all the time...but...I told her I needed my control back and basically to back off while I use Andie as a distraction so it's my fault she is this sad. This is all my fault. I Miss Elena my friend, I have to fix this...somehow...

(Back at Bonnie's House)

Stefan:

We filled Caroline in on everything and I told them I left Katherine a voice mail. So all we could do was wait and think of what to do and how to break all this to Elena?

"Elena is going to Freak!" Caroline all but shouted as she paced Bonnie's floor.

"I Know Caroline. This is exactly why I needed your help! You and Bonnie are her best friends and if this is all true, Elena is going to need all the support we can give her." Stefan said while standing up and beginning to pace the floor his-self.

"I hate to say this, but what about Damon?" Bonnie asked hesitantly.

"What about him?" Stefan and Caroline asked simultaneously.

"Four heads are better than one, and he is her friend too. Besides, I think he might really be able to help with Katherine and making sure she is telling the truth." Bonnie replied.

"No! Damon has a way of Rowling Katherine up and Vise Versa, that's like adding Gas to the Fire." Stefan replied with an annoyed tone.

"I didn't say he had to speak with Katherine, just help us maybe to find this Elijah guy if she won't cooperate, or just help us come up with a plan. Like you said Stefan, Elena is going to need all the support she can get and I think if anyone can figure out Miss Devious Katherine...it's Damon." Bonnie said with confidence.

"Well let's just see what Katherine has to say first. Make sure this is a real threat even, and then we will get Damon involved and go from there." he said.

"Agreed." Caroline replied. Giving Bonnie a hard look.

"Okay, sounds good." Bonnie then added.

"All that's left to do is wait on Katherine." Stefan said while looking at his phone.

Bonnie started to say something and just then Stefan's cell rang. (ring ring) Stefan looked at his phone and answered...

"It's about time Katherine."

A/N. I am so sorry it has been awhile since I have updated this story. We are building on a large room addition on my home and between that and Holidays I have been extremely busy. However, I have not forgotten this story. I am still working on it and this chapter is kinda Jumpy lol but it is a necessary evil to get to the next part of the story. Thanks to any new Followers and Favorites and Please be kind and Review. :) Don't know if you noticed but every Chapter Title has started with a "D"...I dunno how long I can keep that up lol but I am certainly gonna try:) Just a little thing I wanted to do for this story in honor of the "D" for Delena lol silly I know but adds a little different kind of challenge for me with my chapter titles.
