The opportunity to grab the ring came sooner than Victoria or Quincy thought that it would. They had all been invited to a Christmas ball that was being held by some friends, and Quincy and Victoria faked having a stomach bug.

"Are you sure that you don't want us to stay with you?" Blaise was seated on the edge of Victoria's bed, looking at her worriedly.

"I'll be fine." Victoria had performed some simple spells to make her and Quincy both look sickly. "You guys go and have fun, I'm sure that the house elves will make sure that we're taken care of."

Theodore placed a small silver bell by Victoria's bedside. "Just ring this if you need anything and one of the elves will come running." He told her. "They're going to keep a close eye on you and Quincy, so you'll be in good hands."

As soon as the group had left, Victoria jumped out of bed and ran into Quincy's room. "They're gone, let's go. We don't have a lot of time, your dad told me that the elves are going to be keeping an eye on us, so I imagine that they'll be checking up on us soon."

Quincy nodded and he got out of bed. "Mum keeps the study locked whenever she isn't in there, but luckily I know where the key is. Follow me."

Victoria followed him into the kitchen, where he reached into the sugar jar, pulling out a long skeleton key.

"Well, that's one place to hide it I guess."

"The only ones that come in here are the house-elves. Luckily they're all busy cleaning the house and stuff."

"Do they ever go into the study?"

"No, mother doesn't allow them in there, she does all the cleaning and stuff in there herself as far as I know."

"Well, if I had a dark object that I wanted to use, I wouldn't let anyone else in there either."

The duo quickly made their way to the study, and Quincy unlocked the door as quietly as he could before walking in. Victoria followed in behind him, her eyes immediately falling on a ring in a glass case. As she walked closer to it, she heard whispers coming from all around her, they seemed to be in some dark, ancient tongue or something, because she couldn't understand a word of it.

"Did you hear that?" She whispered, and Quincy gave her an odd look. "I didn't hear anything. Are you sure that you're feeling okay?"

"I heard something, some sort of ancient language. I think that it was coming from the ring."

"I'm not hearing anything. Maybe only certain people can hear it."

"Maybe..." Victoria started to walk towards the glass case, reaching her hand out.

"Victoria, are you really sure that we should be doing this? I mean, with the ring's history-"

"Quincy, don't tell me that you're backing out of this now."

"I know, but you're acting like you're just going to grab it."

"Well, maybe it doesn't affect everyone."

It was then that Quincy knew it wasn't Victoria that he was talking to, at least, not the Victoria that he knew. This Victoria was darker, he could tell by the look that was in her eyes. It was cold, and Quincy was forced to avert his gaze.

Victoria went over to the glass case, opening it and taking out the ring. "Surely just putting it on for a few moments wouldn't hurt."

"Victoria, no!" Quincy surged forward, but it was too late, Victoria had already slipped the ring onto her finger. She let out a gasp, and her whole body arched back, like the kind of thing you see in possession movies.

"Victoria!" Quincy shouted, and Victoria smirked darkly at him. "Victoria isn't here anymore." She said in a singsong voice, her voice was high yet low and gutteral at the same time. "Oh, this is quite a lovely body, much better then that old bat that wanted to wear me. And so innocent too...oh I'm going to have fun corrupting this one."

"You leave her alone!"

"And what are you going to do to stop me?" Slipping out her wand, Victoria made a simple movement that caused Quincy to go flying back. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some business to attend to."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that." Quincy's father stood in the doorway.

"You." Victoria sneered. "I thought that you were out partying."

"I knew that Quincy was lying about being sick, and I figured that you were as well. Take off the ring Victoria."

"As I told your pathetic son, Victoria isn't here anymore, and I don't think that I'll have her be coming back anytime soon." With another flick of her wand, roped appeared, binding Theodore tightly.

"Mm, you're a handsome one, aren't you?" Victoria cooed. "Too bad that I don't have time to have some fun."

"You're in the body of an eleven-year-old!" Theodore exclaimed in disgust.

"And you're married to a Death Eater. We all have our little secrets. Oh wait, you didn't know that little bit about your sweet little Flo, did you? Quite the naughty one she is. and her kill list? Quite remarkable. I would have let her use me if she had just been a little bit younger. Now, toodeloo." She giggled and waggled her fingers before walking out of the room. "Have fun trying to catch me."
