Chapter 31~ Details

(Meeting with Elijah continued)

Damon did not give Elijah a chance to continue, he quickly spoke up.

"Before we get into what we don't know about this plan, first, why would you want to kill your brother? Believe me I get it! I wanted to kill Stefan many times but never could!" Damon had his usual smirk tone and Stefan rolled his eyes and Elijah quickly answered.

"Let's just say Klaus has put down every one of my siblings. The slightest disagreement with him and your in a coffin, in sleeping beauty mode until he chooses to wake you."

As usual, they all looked to Damon to see what he would say next, confirming once again he had become the leader, of them anyway, Elijah, Katherine, and Sheila excluded of course. Damon sighed and spoke slowly...

"So your siblings are not dead! If Klaus didn't kill them and they are only sleeping, then how do you justify killing him?"

Elijah's jaw tensed and his face expression changed and he was silent for a minute to regain control and not let his anger consume him. He knew he didn't owe any explanation to these people, nor did he need to justify to them why he wanted his brother dead! After a few more minutes of thinking, he realized it was better to tell them, hoping that he would gain more support with them having better insight. He finally spoke with everyone, again, staring at him intensely..

"I do not owe any of you an explanation, nor do I have to justify anything to you! I am an Original Vampire, from which all Vampires exist! I would appreciate a little respect. I will inform you some and then after that we will get back to the matter at hand, the plan! I am tired of wasting time." After a brief pause he continued... "At one time, I was extremely loyal to Klaus. As the years went by I tolerated his bad moods and behavior, putting down my siblings one by one and at any difference of opinion, he would threaten to drop one of my siblings in the ocean, knowing I may never see them again, I went on being loyal and doing everything his way, that is until he confessed to me he had killed our Mother! I had believed it was our Father, who had hunted us for years. As it turns out, my father was hunting Klaus only, until he too was put down by a powerful Witch in Klaus's circle of trust. That is when we came to blows, and before he could put me down, we parted ways and I have been on my own ever since. Word is, not long after, he stopped looking for me and focused all his energy on looking to break his curse and become an all powerful Hybrid, which can not be killed! Then he would have all power, not just over his siblings when they awake, but he would be the most powerful creature in the world! Klaus is ruthless and cares nothing for human lives! They are only a means to an end for him. Trust me, Klaus is already violent, if we let his Werewolf side out, he will be even more ruthless and nothing or no one can stop him!"

Elijah looked at everyone to see their reaction and all eyes were wide and fear on each face, except for Bonnie who looked confused and she asked "What power does Klaus possess that allows him to put down your siblings?" Realizing Elijah looked as if he was getting agitated again, she quickly added to that question "I only ask so I can know what we are up against?"

Elijah noticed she was worried about what Klaus could do to them and he answered her "He doesn't possess any special powers or a Witch that can put someone down, not in this way, if that's what your thinking. I will not tell you what he uses to put them down, knowing it can be used against me! I will however, tell you he is a very powerful Vampire, as am I! The difference is Klaus has no humanity and I do. He can not put any of you down in a sleeping beauty mode like his siblings but he won't hesitate to kill you!"

Elijah finished speaking and they all just looked at one another in silence and then Elena chose to speak and try to get them back on track, she was mostly concerned about the details of the plan, you could hear the fear in her voice "Let's just get to the plan! How exactly will that happen?"

Elijah liked Elena instantly, he admired her strength, even when in fear, she seemed to have this noble courage about her and he had not seen that in a human for a very long time. He looked at Elena trying to read her more and answered

"The Plan starts with me. I will get word out to some in Klaus's circle of trust that the Doppelganger is in Mystic Falls! This will not take long to achieve. I have obtained the Moonstone. We will not be going with Katherine's original plan to trigger the Lockwood's Werewolf curse or use Caroline as the Vampire! Katherine smiled and everyone gave her a dirty look, even Elijah, as he continued "Klaus has been planning this for almost a thousand years! Rest assured he will have Vampires and Werewolf's at his disposal, only ingredients he doesn't have are the Moonstone, Doppelganger, and Sheila!" they all looked at Sheila but she looked down at the ground "Sheila is the only Witch that has the Grimiore with the spell Klaus needs to break the Curse. The Grimiore was passed down through her family for generations from the Original Witch who placed the curse on Klaus's Werewolf side, making Sheila the only Witch, from the direct line, to break the spell.

The spell was created with the Original Doppelgangers blood, her name was Tatia, so that is why a Doppleganger from the same line is also used to break the spell. Sheila is also from the Bennett blood line."

Bonnie's eyes widened and she looked at Sheila and gave her a small smile, realizing now, why she felt so good around Sheila this entire time. Sheila gave her a small smile in return and both women started to ask Elijah how but he cut them off

"That original Witch who placed the curse on Klaus had a sister and that is where your line is from Bonnie. Although Sheila will do the spell during the ritual, you will be equally as important Bonnie! It will take two of you to keep Klaus weak while he's in transition to Werewolf so that I can kill him! You are literally a secret weapon Bonnie, that will be kept hidden until the Sacrifice Ritual is well underway, which is why there is a risk to Elena! The Vampire and Werewolf have to be sacrificed first before Klaus can even start to transition to a Werewolf, so if we fail to kill him, Elena would be next! Unbeknown to me, Katherine has volunteered to prevent that danger by taking Elena's place with a Spell from Emily Bennett's Grimiore that will give her a heartbeat and make her seem human. From that same Grimiore, is a time travel spell to keep Elena safe until the sacrifice is over and Klaus is dead!

Damon took charge again and stepped up right to Elijah's face and practically yelled "That's the part we don't trust! Why is Katherine so willing to take Elena's place!" Damon stated angrily.

Katherine stepped forward and looked first to Damon, then Stefan, and last Elena and back to Damon and spoke sternly "I have ran from Klaus for 500 years! I am not doing this for Elena, I am doing this for myself! I want a front row seat when Klaus realizes he is going to die! I ran from the ritual the first time and turned into a Vampire! This is my second chance to make that right! I also have some personal reasons and that's the truth! You can accept it or risk your precious Elena! It's up to you!"

Katherine then turned to look at Elena, trying to convey with her eyes sincerity, hoping Elena will believe her and back her and it worked. Elena spoke "I believe her! I don't want to be anywhere near this Ritual when it goes down! I also need the getaway for personal reasons of my own." Elena looked away toward the woods as she said the last part. Everyone could see what Bonnie and Caroline already knew... Elena was determined.

Stefan swallowed with a gulp and chimed in "So what is our part in this plan?'

Elijah wasn't sure of that yet, or if Stefan and Damon would be needed at all? So he went with honesty "I'm not sure yet. I know that Bonnie and Sheila need to work together and learn the spells. Katherine will need to work with Elena, learning her entire life and how to be her." Bouts of laughter broke out from Bonnie, Caroline, Stefan and Damon. They all knew Katherine had already fooled them pretending to be Elena before many times, Elijah was unaware of their personal joke and just ignored them and kept speaking "I will take care of luring Klaus into town, and details of the sacrifice, which has to take place here in Mystic Falls, birthplace of the Doppelganger. I suggest Stefan and Damon help out wherever needed for now. Eventually the plan may involve back up so it's important you two stay informed on everything."

Caroline walked closer and stood and crossed her arms and with a pout on her face she said "What about me?" They all looked at her and giggled and Elijah replied "I'm sure the girls will need your help somewhere but as for your gentlemen friends, it's time to compel them now!"

Caroline walked over to them first, wanting to hug them but remembering the protection spells, she chose to thank them both warmly, with Stefan, Elena, Bonnie and Damon all following suit and thanked them sincerely. Elijah then walked over to them, getting as close as he possibly could, he compelled them one at a time to forget anything they had heard for the last two days and to think they had been home all day. Bonnie added to Elijah to remind them not to touch each other until 11pm. Stefan and Damon exchanged surprise looks. They heard Elijah say he could compel Vampires but to see him in action...something they had never seen or heard of in their one hundred and fifty some odd years of existence. It concerned them deeply that Elijah could do this to them too if he chose to.

After John and Demetri left and were out of sight and hearing range, Elijah quickly started moving them along on their task. "Bonnie, you and Sheila will come with me and be taken to a protected location so that you can learn the time travel spell and the ritual spell that will make Klaus weak enough for me to kill during his transition. Katherine I suggest you go with Elena to her home and get started on learning everything about her short seventeen years on this earth. We don't want to leave anything or any detail to chance! I will be contacting you often, so I have three burner cellular phones that I purchased for you all to take with you. Bonnie and Sheila will have one phone, Katherine and Elena, and Stefan and Damon the third phone. I will be delivering new ones daily, like I said, nothing to chance! Everyone should go now and get busy!"

As everyone turned to leave, Elena still had questions "How long before I time travel? How long do I have to stay away?" Elena sounded less fearful but a little sad.

"Bonnie should learn the spell immediately and should send you within a few days, as far as how long you will be gone, will depend on exactly when you left and how close that is to a full moon, needed for the ritual and circumstances with Klaus. We will know more as the plan begins to unfold. As to where you go will depend on you and Bonnie. Your safest bet is time travel Elena. I know that in itself is risky, but still not as risky and dangerous as Klaus. The Witch's play the most important roles and that's why I will keep them in my close proximity. Katherine just needs to be convincing pretending to be you. Just know that I don't wish any harm to come to any of you and as long as the Witch's perform the spells correctly, I will kill Klaus myself when he is most vulnerable! Any other questions we can attend to later. Right now I need to get the Witch's focused on the spells, the sooner they learn them, the sooner I can lure Klaus into town and put the plan in motion, so this all will be over with!"

Elijah finished answering Elena and then suggested it was time to leave. The walk back to the cars was a quiet one, everyone in deep thought for the second time that day. When they arrived to their cars Elijah handed out the burner phones with a promise to call them first thing tomorrow and once again Bonnie reminded everyone not to touch until 11pm and then getting in the back of Elijah's S.U.V., remembering her and Elena have the five feet barrier spell, she turned to give them one last look and reminded Elena to do the same before she got in following Elijah and Sheila and they drove off.

Stefan looked to Damon and said "You go on ahead Damon. I will ride with Elena and Katherine

in Bonnie's car and make sure Katherine stays in Line." Damon looked at Elena and hated that she looked sad but he hesitantly agreed, knowing Stefan was the better one to babysit Katherine cause he might just rip her heart out and ruin the whole plan, so he got in his car and left. Caroline who seemed hurt from being kind of left out, smiled briefly at Elena and quickly left following Damon out.

Elena got into the back of Bonnie's car, stretching her legs across the back seat hoping that was five feet away from them up front. Stefan and Katherine then got in and Stefan started to car and followed the path back out and Elena said "Let's go to my house for a few hours, I need to eat something and then we can start going over everything with Katherine. After that, I would like to rest, we will have the spells until late and I want to go to bed early so I can pow wow with Bonnie early in the morning before we get started again." Elena was thinking of more than just food and wanted very badly for them to leave so she could also satisfy her craving with Damon tonight at 11:01 pm, at least she was hoping he would come over, she wasn't too sure because Damon had never text her back from earlier today. Just as she was thinking that she reached into her back pocket and seen a text from Damon at 2:33 pm and it was 2:35 pm now. She quickly opened the text and read:

To: Elena

From: Damon

"Yes. C-ya around 11:01:)"

Elena smiled and felt a rush of excitement knowing she was just thinking the same thing and they are on the same page...she was brought back into reality when Katherine rudely propped her feet on Bonnie's dashboard and her smirk tone saying:

"This should be fun."

A/N I realize it has been awhile since I posted a new chapter and all I can say is that I'm sorry and to prove how sorry I am, work on and upload a few chapters here. I hope you will forgive me and still enjoy the story. Thank you to every new follower and thank you to the couple of recent reviews.
