The next day.
Santana turns to look at Brittany as she navigates off of the highway and taps her hand softly as she stops at a red light. Where are we going Britt-Britt? She asks tilting her head curiously, Brittany smiles slightly as she sees the curiosity in her eyes and winks.
''It's a surprise San, but we are almost there.'' She tells her slowly turning back to the road as a car behind her honks lifting her hand up to the rear view mirror to apologize, she glances in the rear view mirror as she hears Diego giggle and shoots him a winks as she sees him looking at her with a big grin.
She turns back to the road taking a right turn and sighs softly in relief as she sees that the parking lot is almost empty thanking the weather gods for playing in her favor, she parks her car and turns to Santana smiling nervously as she looks at her in confusion. We are here.
Where exactly is here? Santana asks curiously, Brittany just smiles slightly sliding out of the car and walks around it to open her door and Diego's. She picks Diego up as he holds his arms up with a big grin and places him on her shoulders after kissing his cheek after he softly murmured words of encouragement in Spanish in her ear, she turns to Santana and smiles nervously.
You will see. She tells her winking, she holds out her arm hearing Diego's giggle and smiles slightly. Ready for our date gorgeous?
Santana nods her head with a slight blush covering her cheeks and links their arms together allowing Brittany to lead the way while looking around trying to figure out where they are, she turns to the blonde in confusion as she smells the typical beach smell and furrows her brow tapping her arm softly. ''Are we at the beach?''
Brittany just smiles slightly leading her up the hidden stairs she led her to and just shrugs as she nods her head to the beautiful sunset view in front of her, she smiles as Santana gasps softly and kicks off her shoes crouching down to place them underneath the stairs so she can put them on without having too much sand in them.
She reaches up taking off Diego's shoes placing them beside her own and looks up at Santana smiling lovingly as she sees her look around in awe, she softly taps her chin and points at the Sandals she wears silently telling her to take them off. She grabs them as soon as she kicked them off and places them under the stairs too, she stands back up locking eyes with Santana and smiles slightly. Yes we are at the beach.
Santana rolls her eyes as she sees Brittany laugh and shakes her head in amusement as she sees her son also looking at her in amusement, she looks around them and bites her lip. Where exactly are we?
Malibu. Brittany tells her smiling slightly, she quickly grabs her hand as she sees her eyes widen and shakes her head silently telling her to hear her out. I know they call this beach private but. She reaches into the back pocket of the shorts she wears and pulls out three little cards holding them out for Santana to read. We are allowed to spend time here, if we are getting checked we only have to show them these.
Santana frowns in confusion looking down at the tiny cards she holds in her hands and her eyebrows raise in surprise as she sees the bold text. Member of the air force with family.
Brittany smiles as she looks up at her in confusion and intertwines their hands pulling her onto the beach, she shoves the cards back into her pocket as Santana holds them out for her and leads her over to a beautiful spot directly in front of the sunset so Santana can soak the view in for the assignment she got and Diego can safely play within their line of sight.
She places them down tapping his back three times and winks as he runs off after kissing hers and his mami's cheeks immediately scooping out the beach for beautiful shells to collect, she sits down crossing her legs placing the bag she bought with her behind her bag and turns to Santana patting the spot beside her.
She chuckles as she just drops down in her lap with a cheeky grin and shakes her head. Please have a seat. She tells her in amusement snickering as she hears her soft cute giggle, she wraps her arms around her waist and leans up to kiss her softly.
She leans back against the bag behind her glancing at Diego smiling lovingly as she sees him still jogging around the beach staying away from the water and watches him crouch down observing a shell before taking off to search for another one, she turns back to Santana and bites her lip smiling slightly. Sue handed us these tickets yesterday before the parade telling us to take time to relax and get rid off of the stress therapy caused, she cleared it with the city that we can spend a few days here without them kicking us off of this beach.
She mentions her hand around them and shrugs her shoulders smiling slightly. As you can see not a single soul will be bothering us here and even though I told her I didn't need it, after the parade and the nightmares bothering me last night I realized that she was right somehow she is always right. She smiles slightly as Santana chuckles and shrugs.
She added the with family part to my card because she figured that I would bring you and D so we all could enjoy the day together and more to follow because I have three more of them, I know D loves collecting shells for his room so he will probably find a bunch here and after hearing about the new assignment you got I though watching the sunset while enjoying a relaxing date with the both of you would allow me to drop the terror I feel completely.
Santana smiles cuddling into her chest and tilts her head up to kiss the underside of her jaw. ''That sounds amazing Britt-Britt.'' She whispers softly, she looks at the sunset biting her lip as she sees the amazing colors in front of her and sighs contently as she feels Brittany rub her back while also turning her head to watch the sunset. ''Thank you for bringing us here with you, it is really beautiful out here.''
Brittany just smiles kissing the top of her head reclining back propping her head up on the bag and crosses her ankles feeling Santana immediately cuddle into her side knowing she is soaking up the view trying to store it into her memory so she can paint it later, she turns her head as she hears Diego squeak and smiles lovingly as she sees him jumping around with a bunch of shells stored into the pockets of his shorts.
She shoots him a wink as he looks over at her mid jump and chuckles as he waves at her with a big bright smile, she waves back laughing as she sees him doing a little dance as soon as he spots another shell and shakes her head laughing as he dives forward to quickly grab it.
Santana leans up on her elbow as she feels Brittany's body shake with laughter and smiles lovingly as she sees her observing her son with a big loving smile playing on her lips, she places her hand on her stomach biting her lip as she feels her abs contract underneath the army top she wears and looks at her son her heart jumping in her chest as she sees the happiness clear on his face.
She reaches into the pocket of the shorts she wears pulling her phone out and quickly snaps a picture of the scene in front of her making sure to capture Brittany's loving grin and her sons happy smile, she takes another picture of the sunset making sure to set the filter right and places her phone down beside Brittany leaning down to kiss her cheek softly.
She cups her cheek as she turns her head to look at her and smiles lovingly. ''You are perfect you know that?'' She shakes her head as she sees her eyebrows raise and quickly puts a finger up to her lip silently telling her to shut up. ''Don't even try to deny it Brittany Pierce.'' She tells her firmly.
''You woke the both of us up with an amazing breakfast after that you send me to get ready and spend the whole time with D helping him with that little bit of homework he had so he could enjoy the rest of the weekend without thinking about school, you played with him while I got ready even though we both noticed how tired you are and before we could tell you to go take a nap you pulled us out of the house and drove us here.''
She runs her thumb over her cheekbone and bites her lip. ''I love relaxing at the beach with you but seeing the tiredness in your eyes tells me that you definitely need to rest Britt-Britt.''
''I can't sleep even if I wanted to San.'' Brittany tells her honestly. ''You know I love spending time with D and helping him with his homework was no problem at all, I love to see you so relaxed whenever you notice that you don't have to do it all on your own while trying to also fit me into the both of your lives.''
''I love to help you out and if that means spending time with your adorable little boy I definitely won't say no, I also love just laying here with you in my arms and hearing him squeal every time he find a beautiful shell for his collection because that tells me that he is enjoying it while you enjoy the sunset.''
''And your company.'' Santana adds smiling slightly.
''And my company.'' Brittany mutters chuckling. ''Sue was right telling us that we would need a few days to wind down and while this is only the first day, spending the night with you yesterday definitely gave me the feeling of safety I missed the week and a half being away from you.''
''You allow me to let loose and to drop my worries, sure nightmares woke me up last night but they weren't as horrifying as they were whenever I slept in the hotel room with Sam crashing on the couch near me so we could keep an eye on each other, we definitely made progress but with each step forward a small step back will accompany it but with the right people by my side I know that I will win whatever the higher ups throw in my rocky path to returning back to the old me.''
She turns her head glancing at Diego and smiles lovingly as she sees him sitting near them counting the shells he collected, she turns back to Santana and bites her lip. ''Spending time with the both of you makes me want to work harder to get better because I want to make the both of you as happy as you make me, and even though I often don't notice the success I reached in such a short time you never fail to point that out and calm my doubts of me not being good enough for you and for D.''
''I don't think you realize how happy you make the both of us Britt-Britt.'' Santana tells her softly as she pushes herself up in a sitting position grunting as D jumps in her lap showing them the shells she collected, she smiles as she sees Brittany immediately turn her attention to him the happiness she feels oozing off of her son mirroring clearly in her bright blue orbs every time he shows her a shell and places her lips on the back of his head just watching them interact.
''I hope you can see how happy you make him and me.'' She murmurs knowing Brittany can hear her.
Brittany locks eyes with her biting her lip as she sees the an unfamiliar spark in Santana's eyes and licks her lips smiling shyly. ''I hope you can see how happy you make me.'' She tells her softly, she turns back to D smiling lovingly as he holds the shells out for her to keep save and pulls the bag from behind her back opening the small pocket so he can put them in there chuckling as he also fills it with a bit of sand exclaiming that he needs a bit of the beautiful white sand in his room too.
She shakes her head as Santana opens her mouth to apologize and locks eyes with her ''Don't you dare apologize for anything Santana, if he wants to fill it up with all the sand he finds I will be okay with that. I can wash the bag after we cleared it out but.'' She nods her head to Diego as he skips around the beach his giggles sounding like music to her ears and smiles happily.
''His giggles, the happy smile on his face and watching his happy dance every time he sees something that amazes him makes my heart swell with so much love it's insane and makes me want to experience it every time because it shows me that he is also enjoying our date.''
She hums in surprise as Santana just crashes their lips together and quickly cups her cheek to keep her close slowly responding to the passionate kiss with just as much passion, she frowns in concern as she feels wetness covering her cheek and pulls back alarmed as she notices that Santana is crying.
Santana shakes her head as she feels Brittany cup her cheek wiping away her tears and buries her face in her neck not knowing how to explain the burst of emotion that suddenly overtook her, she sniffles as she tightly wraps her arms around Brittany's toned shoulders and closes her eyes as she feels her arms gently wrap around her waist pulling her even closer.
Brittany bites her lip knowing exactly what overwhelmed Santana and locks eyes with Diego shooting him a small grin, she discreetly pats the pocket of the bag silently telling him to grab the shells and opens the bigger pocket pulling out a sign having planned it with him after they finished doing his homework and made it look like they were playing with cars every time they noticed Santana checking up on the both of them.
She smiles lovingly as he sprints over dropping down on his knees beside the bag and hands him the note knowing he will place the shells just like she drew on the picture, she continues rubbing Santana's back as she feels her still sniffle softly and places her lips on the top of her head slowly sliding her hand underneath the shirt she wears to stroke the small of her back knowing it calms her down almost immediately.
She watches Diego jog over to a beautiful spot in between two rocks while still making sure she can see him and smiles lovingly as she watches him place the shells down while occasionally peaking at the picture placed beside him, she looks down at Santana as she feels her pull back and cups her cheek gently wiping away her tears. ''I meant every word I said Santana.'' She tells her slowly as she sees her focusing on her lips.
''I love spending time with your little boy and watching the joy on his face shows me that what I am doing is a good thing even though I doubted about it beforehand.'' She gently runs her thumb over her cheekbone and smiles lovingly. ''Seeing the happiness in your eyes and seeing you relax every time you watch us shows me that you appreciate what I am doing and I will keep up doing just that because I love seeing those worried lines.'' She taps the almost invisible lines on her forehead and runs her finger down to tap her nose. ''Disappear.''
Santana just smiles lovingly and cuddles into her. ''Words can't even describe how happy I am to have you in our lives Britt-Britt.'' She tells her softly, too overwhelmed to voice the emotions coursing through her body.
She looks down as she feels Brittany tap her legs silently asking her to look at her hands and smiles as she sees her slowly move her hands making sure she understands her. Just as happy as I am to have you and D in my life San.
She groans as Diego jumps on her back cutting her reply off and chuckles as she feels him bounce shaking her head as she sees Brittany biting her lip in amusement, she gently throws him off of her back pinning him into the sand before he can flee and tickles his sides smiling lovingly as she feels the sudden burst of vibration underneath her fingertips knowing he is giggling loudly.
She looks into his deep brown orbs enjoying the love and happiness she sees and leans down kissing his head while tapping his heart softly silently telling him how much she loves him, she smiles as he wraps his little arms tightly around her neck still giggling softly and sits up laughing as she feels him wrap his legs around her waist holding onto her like a little monkey.
Diego pulls back smiling brightly as he sees the relaxed and joyful smile on his mami's face and slowly let's go of her falling back down into the sand with a giggle, he scowls as she ruffles his hair and looks up at Brittany slowly nodding his head telling her that he finished.
He smile as he sees her slowly standing up and turns back to his mami immediately locking eyes with her, he slowly pushes himself up in a sitting position reclining back against Brittany's legs and smiles brightly holding his hands up near his chest while moving them forwards and backwards. Mami will you take a walk with us?
Santana nods her head smiling as she watches Brittany hoist Diego up and chuckles as he easily wraps his arms around her shoulders and his legs around her waist, she takes the hand she holds out allowing her to help her up too and intertwines their hands kissing her sons cheek as he cuddles into Brittany's side with his back pressed into her side.
Along the shore? She asks curiously while nodding her head to the water, Brittany slowly shakes her head and smiles lovingly.
We will in a minute but first. She leads her over to the two big rocks placing Diego down as they near it and smiles as he immediately grabs onto her free hand, she turns to Santana as they stop about a feet away from the rocks and slowly nods her head to it. D and I have a little thing planned while you were getting ready.
What did the two of you plan? Santana asks curiously as she sees her sons shit eating grin and Brittany's nervous crooked smile, she turns her head to the rocks as she sees her son just pointing at it and tilts her head as she sees a bunch of shells placed between the rocks not noticing the pattern just yet.
''Go take a look.'' Brittany tells her softly trying to keep the nervous tremble out of her hands as Santana tuns back to her the confusion clear on her face, she picks Diego up as she watches Santana slowly walk over to the rocks and follows her while reaching into the pocket of her shorts pulling out a square box stopping slightly behind Santana so she can watch what D created.
She turns her head kissing the top of Diego's head as he cuddles into her and taps his back softly, she smiles as he looks up at her with a bright smile and taps his nose. Thank you for helping me plan this D.
Diego shakes his head leaning up and kisses her cheek. ''Gracias for making me and mi mami so happy Britty, I am happy knowing you will be mami's girlfriend.''
Santana stops in front of the rocks tilting her head as she watches the shells and her jaw drops as she sees the question written out with them, she gasps softly tears filling her eyes as she realizes what the words spell out and covers her mouth as a soft sniffle escape her throat.
