Hi here I am on Fantastic Beasts again. To Guests, I am currently working on the first chapter of Encanto 2 but I will not publish it until the Monday after next week. Sorry that this is taking long. As for the sequel to Hiccup and Raya 2, it will be published around that time too. See you all in a little over in a week's time.

The Zoo

Tom led Newt and Jacob through the streets to Central Park. It was covered in snow and they could see giant hoof prints leading toward the Central Park Zoo. They followed the tracks.

"Mr Kowalski, I noticed earlier at the bank that you were hoping to get a loan," Tom spoke up.

"That's right kid,"

"Did you get it?"

Jacob sighed sadly. "No. I'm wasted away in a canning factory,"

"I'm so sorry,"

"I've tried everything but I just feel so..."

"Trapped," Tom finished. Jacob looked at him. "Like you can't escape what fate had set out for you," he exchanged pitiful glances with the men. "What was it like? Fighting in the war?"

"Scary," Jacob admitted. "I was always scared I was gonna get blown up,"

"Did you have to fight?"

"Everyone was expected to," Jacob said.

"I didn't," Newt said. "I think I would have just been an obstacle or a burden. I'm better with creatures than I am around people. I worked mostly with dragons like Ukrainian Ironbellies,"

"You have dragons?" Tom squealed out. "That is so cool. I always had a feeling they were real,"

"What happened to you, Tom?" Newt asked curiously wanting to learn more about the sweet boy.

"I just stayed where I've always stayed for over six years. I'm desperate to get out of this city once I'm old enough,"

"Do you know where you're from?"

"I'm from England. I know it's where my parents and I lived together. I keep their items and their passport was hidden from my awful guardian back home. Once I turn eighteen, I'm planning to get myself and my adopted siblings, the ones who are nice out of here for good. But I don't know if I can be strong enough,"

Newt clasped his shoulder and he knelt in front of me. "Listen, Tom, you're stronger than you think you are. And you're a brave lad too,"

Tom smiled hearing him talk like that. As he stood up, Newt wrapped an arm around his shoulders and led him along and under that warm coated arm, Tom found comfort.

They made it to the zoo and to their shock, they saw the entrance had been demolished.

"Put these on you two," Newt pulled out two leather protective gears and caps from the case and passed them to him and Jacob.

"Wait, why would we need to wear something like this?" Jacob asked.

"Because your skulls are susceptible to breakage under immense force," Newt explained. "It's just for protection. Let me help you get that on Tom," He placed over Tom.

"It feels a little big," Tom could feel the protective breastplate of leather falling to his thighs.

"I'm sorry but it will have to do," apologised Newt. He placed the cap on him. "There you go,"

"Thanks," Tom strapped it up.

The three males walked into the zoo, which was half-destroyed, half-empty of animals. "Wow, that creature of yours sure did a lot of damage," Tom observed.

"Tell me, had anyone ever believed you when you told them not to worry?" Jacob asked Newt nervously.

"Well, my philosophy is that worrying means you suffer twice," Newt jogged ahead. Tom gulped a little. Jacob patted his shoulders to comfort him. They followed the zoologist past a demolished building to another section of the zoo. They saw a giant rhinoceros-like creature through a ginormous undamaged cage of parents. It was making a loud grumbling noise.

"Why does it keep making that noise?" Tom wondered.

"It's lowing. She's in season," Newt explained.

"' In season?' As in…" Tom drifted off.

"She needs to mate," Newt pulled out a little green vial from his pocket and he dapped some gently on his wrists. "Erumpent musk. She's mad for it,"

"Is that how you're gonna catch it?" Tom asked.

"Yep. Here," Newt passed Jacob the vial. "Do not dab it on yourselves, whatever you do,"

Jacob took a sniff. He wriggled his nose. "Why would I wanna dab myself in this?"

"Now you two just stay here," Newt jogged swiftly over to a patch of snow near the Erumpent. He set down the case and opened it. His friends watched as he lowed out loudly to catch the giant creature's attention. He made rolls on the snow, snorted like a pig, and wriggled his foot in the snow to get its attention. It snorted affectionately and started to play out, hoping to copy his movements.

"He may be weird but he sure is fantastic," Tom observed. He admired the wizard who was taming the beast. No human could ever do that. And not even another wizard because they didn't know magical creatures the same way Newt Scamander did.

"He sure is something," Jacob agreed. "I feel like my entire life has just changed in one day,"

"Me too," Tom said. "I don't know where I'd be now if I hadn't followed you guys and fallen into that case,"

"Hey…sorry you fell down there,"

"Don't be Mr Kowalski, I'm actually glad you did. This day has been the best day in forever. I've never felt freer in my life than ever,"

"Then why don't you just leave that woman for good? Get away from her?"

"Because I can't leave my other siblings behind. They can't know about the magic world but as much as I love this world already, I can't abandon them and let them face her cruelty alone,"

Jacob pursed his lips and patted his head. "You're a brave kid. I admire you for that,"

"I find it so unfair that you have to be obliviated,"

"Well, I kind of need to…I mean I never wanted to know about any of this," Jacob confessed. He turned his head away like he was hiding something.

Tom smirked. "But….it's a girl isn't it?"

Jacob huffed. "You got me, kid. One of her hosts, she's so sweet. She's a great cook. But she's a witch. We can't be together,"

"That shouldn't stop you," Tom said.

"I like your rebellious nature Tom but…some things are just meant to be," Jacob confessed sadly. Suddenly he jumped when he felt something huge and furry leap on his shoulders. He accidentally spilt the musk which wasn't bottled on his chest and Tom.

"Jacob! It's okay! It's just a monkey!" Tom cried out. "Oh man…this stuff doesn't smell nice,"

The monkey leapt off Jacob and then the lowing came. The two turned to see the Erumpent turning around to stare at them through the bars of the giant. She could smell them.

"Oh man," Jacob cursed.

Suddenly it roared and it rampaged through the cage.

"Run!" he cried.

The pair ran past the debris and towards a frozen pond in the middle of the central sector of the zoo. They climbed up to the rock but felt the Erumpent charging after them. Tom felt his heart thumping under his chest. "Newt! Newt!"

"I'm coming!" they heard Newt answer them.

"Jump kid," Jacob implored. He grabbed his hand and they jumped onto the ice below and sprinted off the frozen pond. Still, the desperate female pursued them.

"Let's split up!" Tom suggested. "It can't follow us both!"

"I don't think that's a good idea kid!" Jacob opposed.

"I'll be fine! You go left! I'll go right!" Once they left the zoo, Jacob went left and Tom ran right. The Erumpent stopped when she saw both of them dashing off. She could smell the musk on both of them but one of them had a stronger scent than the other. She turned right.

Jacob ran as fast as he could but he was panting. He collapsed on the hill. He turned his head and to his shock, he saw the Erumpent closing in on Tom. "Look out kid!"

Tom heard his shriek and he turned his head. The Erumpent was only ten feet away from him. He screamed. He looked ahead and he saw a tree. Quickly he scaled up the bark and he clung to one of the branches for dear life. The Erumpent couldn't reach him. It tried to reach up for him but it was no use.

Jacob saw how much trouble Tom was still in.

"Newt!" he cried out. "Newt!"

Tom watched the creature dig its horn into the bark. Its bulbous head burned red and yellow like there was lava boiling underneath it. The energy travelled into the bark. It boiled and bubbled and Tom heard a loud snap. He instantly felt his stomach flying right up into his throat as the tree fell. He fell off the branch sliding onto the thick ice.

Jacob couldn't quite see Tom but then he saw Newt rushing over. "What took you so long?"

"Sorry. Bit of a monkey problem. Where's Tom?"

Fretfully Jacob pointed towards the pond.

Newt's eyes enlarged when he saw the Erumpent charging onto the ice. "Oh no," he shot off.

Tom tried to run over the ice but he was losing his balance a bit. Still, he could hear the Erumpent closing in on him. He turned around and he saw the creature stumble on its short legs; it wasn't used to the ice.

He slipped and he fell onto the ice. His head was protected by the cap. Still, the Erumpent remained on his trial. Then out of the corner of his eye, he saw Newt appear out of nowhere opening his case. His open luggage collided with the bag of the Erumpent but they were both still sliding towards him. Tom braced for impact and shut his eyes tight. But seconds later, he heard, "It's all right Tom. You're safe now,"

Tom opened his eyes and he saw a smiling Newt with a closed case. The Erumpent had been captured.

"It's done," Newt said.

Tom hyperventilated. "I can't believe…" he couldn't breathe.

"It's all right. It's all right," Newt pulled him into a warm affectionate hug. Tom hugged him back, feeling more love than he had ever felt from an adult.

"Guys!" the pair pulled apart and they saw Jacob frantically running towards them. "You okay kid?"

Tom nodded.

"That's one creature down Mr Kowalski," said Newt.

"Call me Jacob," Jacob offered a hand and Newt accepted it. He pulled him up and then he pulled Tom up.

"Mr Scamander, I've really enjoyed meeting you and Jacob and all your creatures too but I think I'd like to get back now," Tom said sadly.

Newt didn't want to. Not just because he despised how Tom had been awfully treated but because he had formed a deep surrogate connection with him. He had never felt this close to any human in a very long while.

"If I was an only child, I wouldn't be making this choice. But I can't leave my siblings behind. I'd never forgive myself," Tom could see how much his choice was already fracturing Newt's heart but Newt knew exactly how important it was.

"Come on," he offered a hand and Tom took it. Jacob took his other one. They left the park and they walked through the streets of New York until they found the old, abandoned church which served as his home.

"I guess this is goodbye kid," Jacob said sadly.

Tom pursed his lips and nodded. He took off his protective cap and he handed the leather breastplate to Newt. He realised he was still wearing the coat. He was about to take it off when Newt stopped him.

"Keep it," he said. "It'll keep him warm,"

"I couldn't,"

"I insist," Newt wanted this coat to be genuinely gifted to that pure sweet boy. Seeing how much it would mean to him, Tom stopped unbuttoning it. He noticed the little Bowtruckle was still stuck in his jacket.

"Hello there…" he lifted him out. "It's time for you to go back to Newt," he tried to offer him to Magizoologist but he wouldn't let go of him.

"I think he wants to stay with you," Newt said.

"But he belongs to you,"

"Well now I'm giving him to you," Newt smiled. "Please…so you have a friend,"

Tom lifted the little guy to his shoulder. "I'll keep him safe. What's his name?"

"Bobo," Newt said.

Tom looked at the little creature. "I'll keep you safe Bobo," Bobo hugged his cheek.

"Can't believe I'm saying this but I'm gonna miss you kid," Jacob stroked his head.

"Hope to see you around Mr Kowalski," Tom waved. He turned to Newt. To his surprise, the Magizoologist engulfed him in a tight hug. He hugged back, shutting his eyes, unexpectantly releasing a tear.

Jacob found the sight so heart-breaking.

"I'll come and check on you before I leave New York," Newt promised.

"No. You really shouldn't. I don't want you to get into trouble. Not with her,"

"I can handle her," Newt promised. "Once I get all my creatures back, I'm gonna make sure she never harms you ever again,"

His words made Tom cry. He had never met someone so protective, so fatherly. Newt slowly let go and he wiped his tears away.

Wrapped in his coat and with Bobo on his shoulder, Tom turned around and walked towards the church. Once he arrived at the door, he turned around and waved goodbye to the two nicest men he had ever met. The men waved goodbye and he slowly opened the cold steel doors and entered inside.

That's another chapter done. Sorry for taking a while. Hope you all enjoyed this. It was so tearful for Tom to say goodbye to Newt and Jacob. But he'll see them again soon. See you all soon.
