Soon Pete and Goofy arrived at an RV park in North Dakota, which was at the edge of a massive lake. After parking it up and getting its swimming pool, hot tub, basketball court and bowling alley out, knocking all the smaller RVs around it in the progress, Pete, in his pink swimming trunks, carried his newspaper and an inflatable water tube. He was going to chill by sitting in his water tube on the lake and read his paper after all the driving he did today. Before he left, he gave Goofy a number of jobs to do, including cleaning up his RV and cooking two steaks, half a dozen beef burgers, two dozen chicken nuggets, ten hot dogs, three bags of French fries and five cups of coffee (all for him and none for Goofy) and for all of them to be ready by the time he gets back, which he didn't even said what time it would be.

As usual, as he did the jobs he was told to do, Goofy reminded himself that he wasn't doing these near impossible jobs for Pete; he was doing them to find Max. And while he did them, he mumbled.

As Goofy was nearly done with dusting the ceiling, there was a knock on the door which made him fall off the ladder. The knocking continued as he picked himself up and headed to the door. He opened it and saw two dog ladies outside the RV. One of them had short red hair and was wearing a green t-shirt, black trousers and white sandals and the other lady had long blonde hair and was wearing a white tank top, blue jeans and brown sandals.

Goofy recognised them. "Hiya, Charlotte. Hiya, Annie."

Charlotte was the red hair one and one of Max's former girlfriends at Spoonerville College. She was the last one before Max met Mona. Annie was Charlotte's best friend and, though she never entered a relationship with Max, she was still a very good friend to him and she was still friends with him on phone, text and social media as much as Charlotte.

"Hi, Mr, Goof," Charlotte and Annie said together.

"Come on in," Goofy said.

And so they did.

"So, what can I do for ya?" Goofy asked.

"We work in the registration office," Annie said. "We just need your RV details."

"Okay, then," Goofy said. "But just to let ya girls know, this isn't my RV. It belongs to my good friend Petey."

"Is it just the two of you, Mr. Goof?" Charlotte asked.

"That's right, Charlotte," Goofy said. "And, as far as I know, we're just here for tonight."

Charlotte wrote those down. "Thank you, Mr. Goof. Please tell your friend that he can pay tomorrow if he's too busy right now."

"I will."

"And have you found Max yet?" Annie asked.

"Ever since he went missing two days ago," Goofy said, "I've done nothin' except look for him. I'm not havin' a great deal of success, but I sure am not givin' up on him."

"Neither are we, Mr. Goof," Annie said.

"You mean you guys are looking out for him in this here RV park?" Goofy asked.

"Yeah."

"And we've tried calling him and left him some text and social media messages, even though he hasn't replied back," Charlotte said. "But we're still not giving up on him."

"Gosh, thanks, girls," Goofy said.

"It's the least we can do, Mr. Goof," Annie said. "Max is a really special guy."

"Yeah, and even though he's not my boyfriend, he still means a lot to me," Charlotte said.

Goofy was really pleased that Max meant a deal to his former girlfriends like Charlotte, Lola and Sasha and that he remained friends with them, even if it was only on social media. He could never forget the day when Max told him that Mona cheated on him and why she did it. "So you guys have been working here since you graduated from college?"

"That's right, Mr. Goof," Annie said. "It helps to put bread on the table."

"And butter? And jelly? And salt? And pepper?"

"Yeah, those things, too."

"What are these ladies doing here, Goof?"

Goofy, Charlotte and Annie turned to face an angry looking Pete was back in the RV.

"Is this your friend who owns the RV, Mr. Goof?" Charlotte asked.

"It sure is, Charlotte," Goofy said.

"Who are these ladies, Goof?" Pete demanded again.

"These ladies work at the RV office, Petey," Goofy replied.

"And your friend Mr. Goof has given us all the details we need, except payment," Charlotte said.

"Oh, right, payment. PAYMENT?! But I don't have –"

"You can pay tomorrow before you leave if you like," Charlotte said.

"But I – I – "

"You make your mind up, Petey," Goofy said, "while I get on your dinner on." Then Goofy just hummed as he made his way into the kitchen and left a frustrated Pete to deal with Charlotte and Annie over this financial issue.

Goofy had finished setting the table with Pete's dinner when his friend, dressed back into his proper clothes, came in and immediately started to eat his food and drink his five cups of coffee as he continued to read the paper. Then Goofy just left because he knew he wouldn't say a simple thank you or give him a compliment for all the hard work he did. So he decided to go outside the RV for some night time air and have an apple to eat for his tea. That was one thing Pete ordered for his dinner and Goofy knew that was one thing that his friend wouldn't mind taking.

As he ate his apple and relaxed in the night air, he was starting to worry if he was never going to find Max, his only child, ever again. He had been searching for two whole days and he made no progress than when he first started. He was starting to fear the worst and believe that his son was gone for good Then Goofy remembered all the people he bumped into – Sasha, Lola, Charlotte, Annie and his niece Debbie and her partner Susan – and he was glad that they were looking out for Max and they weren't giving up on him. If they weren't going to giving up on him, then neither was Goofy.

"I'm done, Goof," Pete called. "The dishes need cleaning. I'm goin' to bed now."

Goofy sighed as he went back in the RV to wash the dishes, reminding himself yet again that he was still doing all of Pete's demands for Max and Max alone.
