The Capitol

A middle aged man sits upon his throne like a king or emperor of some sorts in which once again he is presiding over something that happens once every year in which everyone calls it the Hunger Games as the man's name is President Coriolanus Snow at the moment he is laid back, but he has his own secrets, while he sits and waits for the start of the games as he is drinking his favorite wine, a great day indeed.

The arena is ready and the Tributes will be in the arena shortly as he will make his formal address to the 74th Hunger games, in which nothing can go wrong and why should be worried, as he along with everyone else on Panem will watch violence and death inside the arena, as the games are meant for entertainment and fun, well for society of course. Old America would never tolerate something like this, but this isn't America anymore.

Then there is an alert signal to indicate something is wrong in the Arena, surely it must be nothing and then Snow pressed a button upon the console as it shows surveillance footage of someone coming out of a hole in thin air and the hole in the air vanished, the way he is dressed is rather armored with some sort of symbol and he does look human, like in a way of a scientist, he pressed his holographic communications device in which a peacekeeper captain appears as he saluted.

"I want a squad to the Arena at one, we have an intruder there." said Snow "Eliminate him, no one may interfere with the games,"

"Sir, the games will be starting in about 30 minutes," said the Peacekeeper Captain "Perhaps the Tributes can kill the intruder instead,"

"No," shook the head of Snow "I fear he maybe a rebel, eliminate him by any means necessary,"

"Understood sir," said the Peacekeeper Captain "I will send my best squad to do the job,"

Snow just nodded as the Peacekeeper captain just saluted in which his image vanished, then the president just stared back at the view screen upon the mysterious man who appears to be not from around here or any other district, he maybe a rebel or not, but Snow is not going to take any chances in which he sat back, and pondered on a great deal of things. He did not like surprises one bit.

Nation of Panem: Former United States of America

The Arena

Unknown to President Snow and the rest of Panem, a portal opened and Gordon Freeman stepped out, then the portal vanished. He found himself in the middle of no where and it is a largely forested area with a central meadow, hmmm very strange indeed as he used his suits scanner to find any Combine activity in this new dimension he just ventured into, but moments later found nothing as there is advanced technology here, it is far away and discovered surveillance devices as well.

He wondered why would advanced technology be nearby and surveillance devices be installed in a forested area, could he stumbled upon some government facility in this dimension and so he was about to make a log of what he has discovered so far something caught his attention, hovercrafts and looked advanced too. What he sees is armored people on board and not too friendly.

They wear a full helmet, darker visor, and heavier-looking armor, and carry automatic rifles, the hovercrafts land upon the ground as the armored looking people stormed out of them quickly and surrounded Gordon Freeman as their weapons are pointed at him, he has only been in this dimension in a few minutes and has already made enemies he didn't even know about and wondered what do they want, he just sighed as he understands this can lead to trouble.

"I don't know who you people are," said Gordon "I didn't come here to cause any trouble,"

"Open fire," said one of them

Gordon muttered shields under his breath in which they opened fired upon him with a barrage of weapons fire, from their weapons and from the hover crafts as well, all the while President Snow is watching from the surveillance monitor the intruder being killed right before his very eyes. Dust and debris started to build up until one of the peacekeepers fired a missile from the hovercraft that cause an explosion, which rocked the area.

Suddenly the hovercraft that fired the missile was mysteriously thrown to the left in which it slammed into one of the trees killing the driver and destroying the hovercraft as well, the dust had cleared and Gordon Freeman stands there as the Peacekeepers are surprised and so is President Snow, Gordon is holding the gravity gun in hand and used it to throw them back with intense gravity. The peacekeepers are thrown all over the place and Gordon switched weapons quickly.

The peacekeepers regained their footing and fired their weapons again. He brought forth the omni-blade in which his shield holds, he sliced one of them in half and took their own weapon as he fired right back at several more killing them instantly, he kept at it for a bit as Gordon mowed them down with whatever combat experience he has until finally only he is left standing.

"I know your listening," yelled Gordon "I don't know what your problem is with me, but if you are allies of the Combine then you are an enemy of me and whoever ordered to have me killed, I'm coming for you next,"

President Snow witnessed a slaughter by the mysterious man over the surveillance monitor, his first order would have been to have a small army of Peacekeepers to deal with the intruder, and after listening to the man's words, his mind came up with an idea that might just work, perhaps he can be in the games and he has the authority to change the rules and have the tributes kill him instead or to have the tributes to be killed, either way he wins and the audience gets what they want, he pressed a button to talk to the man with audio only.

"I am President Snow of Panem," said Snow "As of right now you are the 14th tribute to the Hunger games as it will start in 30 minutes, quite impressive in what you did to the peacekeepers and I do not know of these Combine, nor do I care. Let's see if you are capable of killing the tributes as it will be a surprise, until then good luck you're going to need it."

Tributes, Hunger games Gordon did not know what those are, but it might not be good at all, however the One-Free-man survived worse things and at the moment this place is unknown to him, he had scanned the dead peacekeepers weapons and armor, as he can call forth the weapons they use at his disposal and ventured further, but he did spot a holographic sign with a countdown to 30 minutes. So it means he is involved in something he dose not understand at least not yet.

Walking further into the forest he came across weird creatures whom he has never seen before as they look like wolf-like creatures, with collars on their neck along with a number and appear to be standing around doing nothing, he walked on by them without incident. Gordon suspected they could be a part of these Hunger games and so he stands there as the sun rises in the distance to start a brand new day.

Then he looked at the time in which it looks like a countdown 60 seconds left, after that he sees tubes being lifted off from the ground as there are people inside and these people who look like kids, are ready for battle. Gordon strolls past them in which he is noticed by several of them including one girl whom seems to be interested in the symbol upon his armor and wondered if he is a peacekeeper, then President Snow speaks on about this and that, including a new rule involving the 14 tribute to indicate Gordon is the 14 tribute.

GONG, GONG, GONG

That sound echoed in the background as the tubes are opened and these kids are ready for battle, as they look for anything they could use to attack everyone else. Gordon leaned against a tree and watched as he carefully observed these kids, as they split up as some of them are together and others are on their own. This is the hunger games, a bunch of kids fighting to the death, Gordon is disgusted at this. Until suddenly, one of them attacks him with a sword as Gordon leaped up in the air behind the large and muscular teenager.

The large and muscular teenager known as Thresh turned around to swing the sword at Gordon with a slash as he braced himself in which the sword shattered upon the armored arm of Gordon, taking the teenager by surprise and then Thresh lunged at Gordon with all his strength, but side stepping and cracking him over the skull with his trusty crowbar with a hard whack.

It knocked him out cold completely, bleeding from the nose as Rue had seen this from her hiding spot as she could tell this guy has much experience under his belt, as she decided not to strike. Gordon Freeman continued onward in which he wondered who else would attack him foolishly, on the other hand the girl who previous saw Gordon known as Katniss Everdeen is hard at work staying alive and surviving, but wondered who the man is, right now the more important thing is to survive and that is what she will do.
