Last time: Kait and Op talked and things are going great.

Now: The trio and Kait go to confront J'onz.

Chapter 7- Almost Taking it too Far

It was mid-afternoon the next day when they got the call from Ceros that J'onz was ready to have visitors. However, the only visitors he was allowed to have were those going to see him to interrogate him. And apparently, Ceros himself and three others had already gone over to try and get the mole to talk. But the marshal wasn't breaking for anyone. So when Ceros called the Jedi informing them of this, he also asked if they could interrogate J'onz. None of them were interrogators like Cien. But unlike the others who had tried to get intel from J'onz, they were the only ones with the Force as their aid. Kait definitely had experience and they made sure she was with them when they would go talk with the former marshal. But J'onz definitely did not come off as the weak minded type. So a few simple Jedi Mind Tricks weren't going to be enough, but it would never hurt to try.

When they reached the hospital, Sasha, Viran, Oppie and Kait headed upstairs to the fourth floor where J'onz was being guarded, according to Colonel Ceros. As they exited the lift and walked down the hall, they spotted two heavily armed militia men guarding one of the recovery rooms. The hospital staff that was around looked a little uncomfortable with such a heavily armed presence looming like that in their halls. So they gave them a wide berth if they did pass by. The four came to a stop just before the guards.

"We're here to interrogate the prisoner." Kait said coldly, holding up her badge to the guards for inspection.

The guard on the left eyed the badge then nodded. The guard on the right turned and hit a code into a keypad on the wall next to the door. The door unlocked. "We will lock the door behind you for security reasons. We don't want to risk the prisoner trying anything. You may enter," the left guard explained as the right opened the door.

"Thank you." Kait said, leading them in. Sasha and Viran followed after her. Oppie took up the rear.

Once inside, the door closed shut and then locked. And lying in the bed was J'onz, still sleeping. Even while asleep and injured the man looked grumpy. From under his medical gown, the bandages peaked through the collar from where he was shot. And his wrists were securely bound to the rails of the bed. After a moment, he came to and glared at them.

"Well to what do I owe this honor?" J'onz asked, sarcastically.

"Incompetence, I'd say." Kait said sarcastically. "What do you know of the cartel?" She asked.

"As much as you do," J'onz said, unamused.

"You know what she means," Viran said, folding his arms across his chest.

"And I gave you my answer," J'onz said, annoyed.

"You had a cartel burner comm link on you. We know you sent them information about where our fake informant was to try to set Kait up. That's on top of all the other things, like blowing the operation at the nightclub and trying to get them caught in a crossfire." Oppie stated. "Do you deny being an informant for the cartel?" Oppie asked.

"I'm not denying being the informant. I'm denying knowing anything," J'onz rolled his eyes.

"You had to know something." Kait said. "Who was your contact? Who recruited you?" She asked. "You know how this works, give us anything you know."

"I have never met my contact," J'onz said simply. "As for who recruited me, I don't remember their name but they worked for Cordova."

"Worked? Do they still not?" Sasha asked.

"I don't know and don't really care," J'onz shrugged.

"We do." Oppie said. "Not cooperating doesn't help you at all."

"Actually, me not telling you anything doesn't change my situation in the slightest. The cartel is still gonna win when this is all said and done," J'onz stated simply. "Whether I go to prison, get out or die."

"Win?" Oppie asked.

"Yes, win," J'onz said with a snort. "Why do you think they hired me? To distract you all. No one can beat the cartel this time."

"From?" Kait asked.

J'onz shook his head. "That I don't know. They don't tell me everything."

"I think he's lying," Viran hissed.

"Fine. Believe me or not," J'onz said, shrugging. "It's your call."

Oppie glanced between the other three.

"I have an idea," Sasha said. She then gestured for the other three to huddle up. They gathered around her as far as they could from the bed, away from J'onz.

"What are you thinking, hun?" Viran asked, curiously.

"What if I use the mindspace on him? Do what Cien does for interrogations?" Sasha suggested, a hint of unease in her voice for suggesting it.

"That could work," Viran said, nodding his head at the thought.

"Do you feel up to that?" Oppie asked her a little worriedly.

"You got another idea?" Sasha asked him. "I'll be okay. I've been training with Cien on how to use it for exactly this. It's time to put that training to the test."

"Okay." Oppie said, worried that it might be a bit dark for Sasha to do this.

Sasha nodded and turned back to J'onz. She approached the side of his bed.

"Oh what are you gonna do to me? Use on your stupid Jedi mind tricks? That won't work on me," J'onz asked, amused.

"This isn't just some Jedi Mind Trick. But it will work on you," Sasha said, confidently.

Before J'onz could respond, Sasha grabbed his left wrist and they both froze in place.

In a flash, the world disappeared around them and J'onz stood in the middle of infinite blackness. He was dressed in his normal get up as well instead of the medical gown. He looked around in a panicked confusion.

"Where the hell am I?" J'onz called out, pissed. "Show yourself, you Jedi brat!"

"This is a place where I will get all of the information we need. No lies. Only the truth," Sasha said as she approached him from the darkness. "Now, I will give you one last chance to tell me everything you know about the cartel. It's just you and me in here. No one can hurt you. Now talk."

"You think you can scare me? This is probably just some drug hallucination that you are forcing me to have. This isn't real. And I still won't tell you anything," J'onz said, irritated.

Sasha narrowed her eyes at him before letting out a disappointed sigh. "I didn't want to do this, but you've left me no choice," she said.

In a flash, the world around them changed from darkness to a large wheat field that was in the middle of a huge battle. Battle droids and men in military uniforms were facing off against a battalion of Clones and a Jedi with a blue lightsaber. This was a fight from the Clone Wars that Sasha did not recognize. But J'onz did.

"How… how did we…" he trailed off, shaking. "This is the battle of Teros VII. My home planet." He turned to look at Sasha, fuming. "How did you do this? How are we here?"

"I can see what you have seen in your lifetime in here. This is a painful memory for you. And I can see why, now," Sasha said simply. "Do you believe me now? Will you tell me what I want to know? Or will I have to look for it myself? Because I will." It wasn't meant as a threat but it came out as one.

"You're a crazy kriffing witch," J'onz spat. "And I will tell you nothing. I'd rather die than tell you a damn thing. Now just end this."

Sasha flinched at that but didn't falter. "Then we are going to be here for a long time."

"Kriff you," J'onz hissed before he raised his hand to back hand her.

But before he could do it, she forced him backwards, out the memory and into the darkness. J'onz looked up, shocked. Sasha looked over him, the shadows adding an almost evil look on her face. She was tired of him being a jerk to her and her friends. She felt an anger grow in her as she stared at this despicable man before her. An anger she had never felt before.

"No. Now talk," she demanded in a forceful tone.

Cien was sitting next to Nova, staring at Kyr, and she slowly brought her palm up to her face. "Why are you like this?" She asked slowly.

"A bet's a bet." Kyr said simply.

"You're going to make yourself sick." She said.

"I need to hold on to my fleet record." Kyr said defiantly, as he ate another sausagebun.

She slowly brought her face down to her open hand, looking at him ludicrously. She drummed the fingers of her other hand on the table before shaking her head, and taking another bite of her watermelon with a bit of chili sauce over the top of it. She felt an odd feeling in the Force and frowned. Something was happening with Sasha that didn't feel right. It felt… Dark.

"You could be supportive, you know. I might just break my record today." Kyr said around another sausagebun.

"Well when you do, I'll call Kelce. You're gonna need an antacid after this," Nova said, smirking. She then glanced to Cien. She frowned. "Hey what's wrong?"

"Nothing, I just need to check on Sasha, please excuse me." Cien said, slightly troubled. She stood up from the table and walked through the canteen to go over to her sofa. She sat down and composed herself, falling into the mindspace since she felt Sasha in there already. She saw her in the far distance, standing in the infinite black and she walked over, seeing a man with her.

Sasha was looming over the man and was talking with him in a sharp tone. The man looked shocked, but afraid of her. And that was making her sister angry.

"Now answer me!" Sasha barked.

"Am I interrupting anything?" Cien said with an arched eyebrow. She was in her full armor which gleamed in the odd light of this place as usual.

Sasha tensed and turned to look at Cien. There was an angered look on her face, but also a look of shame in her eyes.

"What are you doing here?" Sasha asked, confused.

"Who the hell are you?" J'onz asked, confused.

"Quiet," Sasha snapped before looking back to Cien.

"I sensed that something… interesting might be going on, and I wanted to see if I could come help." Cien said, a little worriedly. She glanced at the man but kept her attention on Sasha.

"This is Marshal J'onz. Turns out he is a mole for the cartel," Sasha explained. "I brought him here because he wasn't answering any questions and I thought this would be the best place to get intel."

"Ah." Cien said, turning to glance at him, "can we go talk for a second?" She asked.

Sasha swallowed then nodded.

"Excuse me. But what the hell am I to do?" J'onz asked, insulted by them ignoring him.

"Be silent." Cien said, shooting him a withering look.

J'onz grumbled at that and looked away, heavily annoyed.

Cien gently placed a hand on Sasha's arm and guided her some distance away into the darkness. "Are you okay?" Cien asked her.

"I…" Sasha looked down. "No."

"What's going on?" Cien asked quietly.

"I don't know. I thought I could handle myself in here with him. Thought I could get the intel we so desperately need," Sasha explained, shamefully. "But he is being so irritating and an ass. He has been like that to me and Viran and Op and even Kait. I guess I lost my head because I just couldn't take him anymore. And I sense if we break him, we can find Cordova." She said looking at Cien.

Cien looked at her and then glanced at him before looking back at Sasha. "You can do this Sasha, but are you sure it's something you want to do?" She asked quietly.

Sasha went silent for a moment, thinking about that. "I feel like I have to do this. But… but I'm finally starting to feel like myself again. If I do this," she gestured over to J'onz, "I don't know if I'll ever forgive myself if I actually take it down a dark path. So I don't know." She looked back at Cien. "I'm scared. And angry. And…" She lowered her chin to her chest and took a deep breath. Trying to calm down her growing anxiety.

Cien pulled her into a hug. "I can do this so you don't have to. It's far less troubling than what I'm facing where I am." She said, with a slight smirk.

"Thank you," Sasha said, hugging her back tightly. "You're more experienced at this than I am. And more intimidating." She chuckled slightly, already feeling better.

Cien pulled away with a smirk. She hid it away as she approached J'onz. "My sister tells me that you aren't cooperating." She said as she strode towards J'onz darkly.

J'onz narrowed his gaze at her before a look of recognition came to his face. "You're the Mando from the reports. Now it all makes sense. I didn't realize you were a Jedi too." He looked at Sasha. "What? Couldn't handle me so you had to call in backup? What kind of weak Jedi are you?" He laughed.

Sasha snarled as she started to charge at him. She was getting really tired of that term. J'onz didn't move, but he was shocked when Sasha decked him across the face with a solid punch to his cheek. He fell over, dazed.

"That felt good," Sasha said as she shook her hand out. "He's all yours."

Cien used the Force to lift him up, dangling him above the non-existent floor. "She didn't call in backup. I came because I like interrogating people." She said coldly. "We could just pick the information from your mind. But we don't want to spend weeks in here with you, as fun as that might be. For us."

J'onz struggled in the air, panic now written on his face. "Ah, put me down!" He demanded.

Cien pulled him closer so that he was face to face with her, slightly below her eye level, at an uncomfortable height that was too short for him to stand but too tall for him to kneel. "And why would we do that?" She asked, cocking her head slightly to the side.

"What are you?" J'onz asked, afraid.

"Not a Jedi." She growled at him, tossing him to the floor.

J'onz rolled to a stop on his side, shaking. "Leave me alone!" He cried out.

Around them the battle in the wheat field returned, but they were standing amidst the flames of the field, as the sky above was choked darkly with smoke as the clone troopers pushed forward around them. Cien grabbed him with the Force, pulling him up again. "The only reason we're here is because you won't give us the information we need about the people that attacked our family." She spat out. "And we take that very personally." She growled in a low tone. "This ends when you want it to, and not a second before." She said, a play of Sith lightning running from her hands up and down her gauntlet.

J'onz looked between Cien and Sasha in horror. "Are you just going to let her do this to me?"

"Yes. Now are you going to talk or not? It's simple J'onz. We can end this right now if you just confess everything you know about the cartel," Sasha said calmly. "If not, we will be in here for a long time."

J'onz made an annoyed and pissed expression before groaning in defeat. "Put me down and I'll tell you what you want to know. And then keep this lunatic away from me," he demanded, pointing an accusing finger at Cien.

"Lunatic?" Cien growled, twisting the scruff of his shirt with the Force and drawing him closer.

J'onz yelped at that. "Sorry! Mando!" He said.

Cien let him go, dropping him to the floor as the field around them faded and they returned to the darkness. She took a step back and waited for Sasha.

"Now talk," Sasha said, sternly.

"When I say I don't know who hired me, I honestly don't. I assumed Cordova. But the money just appeared one day at my room with a note and the burner. It was more credits than I knew what to do with. Plus he promised me that if I helped him, he'd help me get some revenge on the Jedi. I'm a Seperatist after all. You're not exactly my favorite kind of people," he explained, shooting a pointed look at Sasha. "Anyway, I just sent them intel on what we were doing and places to avoid if we got too close. I honestly don't know anything. But I do know where Frey is. He ran from that building before we got there. He should be in a shack outside of town. But I swear that is all I know!"

"He's lying!" Cien said, yelling, as she stalked over to him. "What makes you think you could lie to us?" She growled, towering him as he still lay on the floor.

"No! I'm not lying!" J'onz said, quivering. "I'm telling you the truth! I swear!"

"You know more." Cien said with a deathly growl that sounded like claws being scrapped across obsidian. "You're holding out on us." She brought her hand up to threaten him, quite enjoying herself.

"I swear I don't! They wouldn't tell me anything unless I needed to know!" J'onz said, backing away from her. "But I can tell you that if I don't answer my burner every other day at the exact time they will think I'm either compromised or dead. And if they figured that out, they will come and kill me! They have ears everywhere!"

"Are there more moles?" Sasha asked, hands on her hips.

"Yes. There are still a few men in the militia that work for the cartel. I can give you names!" J'onz pleaded.

"Please do." Cien said in a voice dripping with malice.

J'onz nodded frantically. He then listed off the names of the men in the militia that worked with the cartel. Sasha made a mental note of each so they could check into them when they returned to the real world. Once he was done, he sat there shaking, avoiding both women's gaze.

"Is that it?" Sasha asked.

"Yes. I swear!" J'onz insisted.

Cien towered over him. "There are far, far worse fates than death or whatever else you can imagine, and if you're lying I will be glad to visit all of them upon you when I arrive." She said in a tone colder than the ice of Hoth.

"I believe you," J'onz breathed out, terrified. "Now can you please let me go from this hell?"

"When we are through." Cien said. She turned to Sasha. "If we are done with this wretch we should go discuss what to do next," She turned to regard J'onz. "When I arrive in two days."

"I agree. And I think we are done here," Sasha said, nodding.

"Then let us go speak." Cien said, gesturing Sasha to go over into the darkness a bit with her thumb and a slight nod of her head.

Sasha nodded and headed that direction, leaving J'onz behind.

"Thanks, that was fun." Cien said when they were far enough away, "I am sorry if I went a little over the top."

"It's okay. I'm just glad you showed up when you did," Sasha said, looking away. "I almost did awful things to that man and I almost lost myself in that. So thank you for helping me, sis. I really needed that."

"No problem." Cien said, frowning at her. "You sure you're okay?"

Sasha stood there for a moment and felt a shiver run through as she thought of all that anger from earlier and how she almost tortured someone. She put a hand to her mouth as tears came to her eyes.

"I don't know. I just need a minute," She said, trying to compose herself.

Cien pulled her into a hug. "It's okay." She said quietly.

Sasha silently cried in her arms. She just needed to get this off her chest. So it was a long while before she pulled away, wiping her face. "Thanks," she sniffed.

"You're welcome." Cien said quietly. "I hope I didn't upset you with that." She said nervously, worried that she had thoughtlessly brought up old wounds between them.

"No, you didn't. Don't worry," Sasha said, smiling lightly. "It was my own choices that was making me feel this way. And I know you didn't actually plan to harm him… much. I kind of enjoyed watching him squirm a little." She bit her lip. "Is that bad that I enjoyed that?"

"Uhh…" Cien said, "I'm the wrong person to ask." She stated.

"Fair," Sasha said, nodding. "Speaking of them, I should get back and tell them what we have learned here. Can I call you later and we discuss a bit more of the plan for when you guys do arrive?" She asked.

"Sure. Talk to you then, and see you in a few days." Cien said, genuinely happy to finally be seeing her family again.

"Yeah same," Sasha said, smiling. "Give Kyr and the others a hug for me."

"I will, are Viran and Oppie there?" Cien asked.

"Yeah and Kait. They are all waiting for me," Sasha said.

"Oh, well then. Say hi to all of them." Cien said with a smirk as she turned and disappeared into the darkness towards where the other two lights were, and had grown faintly brighter.

"Will do," Sasha said, smirking at the lights. She then turned her attention back to J'onz, who sat terrified. She flicked her wrist and dismissed the mindspace.

J'onz gasped as he came back to reality in a flash. He immediately started pulling on his restraints as if he had just woken from a bad nightmare. Sasha faltered as she came back. That was the first time she had ever hosted the mindspace and had a non-Force user in there to exacerbate how much power she was using. She felt light headed and her head hurt when she did come back. Viran caught her and balanced her.

"You okay?" Viran asked, worriedly.

"I'm fine," Sasha said, rubbing her forehead. "I got the intel."

"What happened?" Oppie asked, worried. Kait looked at her worriedly as well, she hadn't seen anything like this before.

"I did what I could to get intel and nearly walked a dark path to do it. Then Cien arrived. She managed to get him to talk," Sasha said, straightening up. "She could sense what I was doing and came to help me. Or more accurately stop me from doing something I would ultimately regret."

"I'm glad she was there to do that." Oppie said, with an odd sense of relief.

"Yeah," Sasha agreed. "We should go and talk with Ceros. Some place where we won't have wandering ears."

"Is he okay?" Kait asked, half heartedly nodding at J'onz.

"He will be," Sasha said with a nod. "He'll have a bit of a headache for a while and may not be too happy to see Cien when she arrives. But he will be okay. I think."

"What did she do to him?" Oppie asked quietly.

"She may have used the Force and the mindspace to rough him up. Scare him," Sasha explained. "He definitely wasn't willing to hide anything once she started freaking him out. And…" she swallowed. "I hate to admit it, but I may have enjoyed it more than I should have. Is that wrong of me?"

Viran shrugged. "I don't think so. This guy does kind of deserve it," he said simply. "But I'm probably not the best to ask."

"Op?" Sasha looked to him.

"I…" Oppie said. "No, we shouldn't enjoy it, but I admit I'm glad to hear it happened." He stated.

"Okay," Sasha nodded, ashamed slightly.

"We should go," Viran suggested.

"Sasha don't worry about it." Oppie said quietly, noting Sasha's discomfort, "this guy betrayed us, he tried to throw Kait under the hover bus, and he tried to get you guys killed at least two times. If there was someone to enjoy having Cien scare, it's that guy." He said, nodding towards J'onz in the bed.

"What are you guys talking about?" Kait asked, looking between them a little confused.

"The Force trick Sasha just did. Cien can do too and they can meet each other there," Viran explained as simply as he could. "It's a very rare ability that they have. So when Sasha went there and started to think negative thoughts. Cien could sense her through their bond and then came to help. And I'm just making this sound more confusing," he said, realizing how confusing it all sounded.

"I can show you later if you are interested," Sasha offered. "I promise it's not as scary as we are making it sound. It's just… empty."

"Oh, sure, maybe." Kait said.

"Trust us when we say it'll all make sense someday… maybe," Viran said, smirking. "Now can we go and hear what this intel is?"

"Yes, let's go," Sasha agreed.

Cien came out of the mindspace, after spending a moment looking at the two lights with a small smile, to see Kyr and Nova watching her quite intently. She swallowed nervously and looked between them.

"Everything okay?" Kyr said, looking at her.

"Yeah." Cien said, "Sasha just needed some help interrogating someone. How did your contest go?" She asked.

"Oh, I called it off when you had to run off." Kyr said a little sheepishly.

"And what do you mean Sasha interrogated someone? She doesn't exactly strike me as the kind of person to do that," Nova asked confused.

"Which is why she needed a little help." Cien said. "And you didn't have to call off your contest, I know how important it was to you." She said looking at Kyr.

"Oh, don't worry, I can eat too many sausagebuns and make myself sick any time. I wanted to make sure you and Sasha were okay."

"Oh. Well thank you." Cien said, with a slight smirk. Part of her found it odd how sweet she thought that gesture was.

"Is she okay?" Nova asked.

"Yeah, she's okay. I arrived in time to be able to keep her from doing anything she'd regret, and we got the information we needed." Cien replied.

"Well that's good. I think," Nova said, still confused by it but happy to hear Sasha was okay. "I'm going to go and check on the others. I'm glad you're both okay." She said standing.

"I saved your watermelon for you." Kyr offered, passing her plate over as he sat down on the couch with her.

"Thanks." She said, "I was really craving this for some reason." She said.

"Yeah, no I often get a craving for watermelon with chili sauce on it." Kyr said in total understanding.
