Barry sped into the townhouse, stopping at the sight of Kayla, his Kara and a Cisco all in conversation. It was during the day, so Zari and Adrianna were currently at school.
"Where's Mon?" Barry couldn't help but ask first, knowing Kayla's own boyfriend was usually here with her.
"He's with this world's Mon-El and Mor-An," Kayla stated. "He doesn't get to meet his little brother that often."
"Cool," Barry nodded before looking to Cisco now. "Hey, I'm glad you're here," Barry stated, obviously having disrupted a conversation but not all too bothered that he had. "I want to go off-world."
"You do?" Cisco stated, Kara herself pausing at this – despite their Full Kryptonian Bond, she didn't always know where his head was at, after all, but had been expecting this. Lara, meanwhile, was patiently laying her head on Kara's lap, not bothered by the people around her.
"Yeah, I want to see how other Barrys have taken to being fathers," at this, he glanced to Kara and her baby bump.
"You are aware this isn't your Cisco…?" Kayla voiced.
"Sure. My Cisco hasn't been too keen on going off-world since the whole jailbreak fiasco," Barry pointed out, rather dismissively, "on your world, come to think of it," he added to the Cisco present. It was this Cisco that Kayla spent a lot of time with, after all.
"Very perceptive of you," Cisco smirked at this, "but that 'jailbreak fiasco' was a long time ago now – most of those accidentally released have been caught, or since died, come to think of it."
"Interesting to note," Barry nodded. He wondered if he should let those on this world involved in the jailbreak know the escapees were all caught or dead - he knew Cisco and Winn still felt bad about it, maybe even Belle, but it might be better not to mention it to Mila at all.
"So, you want to visit other Barrys, see how they took to being parents?" Cisco asked now. "Cold feet yourself?"
"On the contrary, I just want to see just the type of parent I can be," Barry pointed out. "And maybe get some tips on how to raise a Kryptonian/Speedster baby too…"
"Alright then, so Karry and Prime, I assume… then I suppose you could go to–" Cisco began, but Barry cut him off.
"New Justice," Barry stated, surprising Cisco.
"Urm, I know we've had Crisis since, but New Justice doesn't exactly have a Barry you could learn from," Cisco pointed out.
"I know, but I also know that Rae there has her daughter who is pretty much glued to her hip. I never took Rae as a very… motherly figure before – more of a leader, really – so I want to see what changed for her," Barry explained.
"You have the makings of a true Hitchhiker," Kayla remarked, referencing the fact she was their resident hitchhiker.
"Disney only," Barry smirked.
"Speaking of Disney–" Cisco started.
"No," Kayla interrupted him, causing Cisco to pout before shaking himself off.
"Okay, Barry, I can take you to those worlds," Cisco stated now. "They all always welcome unexpected visitors."
"Hardly unexpected," Kara protested, Lara sticking her head up at this instance.
"Even so," Cisco chuckled. "Let's go to New Justice first, shall we? Are you coming, Kara?"
"Nah, I'm good here," Kara stated. "Besides, I don't trust myself jumping worlds while pregnant – and we can't have both leaders of the Justice League off, even if I'm not in an official capacity there."
"She speaks into my ears," Kayla provided for that, to a chuckle from Barry. "Which is weird considering on Karry they just let me get on with it without instruction, but it's fine," Kayla mused, to a chuckle from Kara.
"Okay, time to go then," Cisco opened a portal at this, and Barry smirked as he gave his wife a kiss before jumping through the portal himself, Cisco following.
-SuperEarth-
Ray Palmer, fully in his ATOM suit, was flying next to Mari McCabe, aka, Vixen, who had summoned the spirit of an eagle to fly, surprising him with this ability. She had therefore quickly explained her Spirit Totem, and it's ability to summon the spirits of animals to give her powers before she took the lead, telling him to follow her.
"So, I put through another request to join the Justice League and I get you instead?" Ray now asked his flying companion.
"Makes sense," Vixen stated, causing Ray to pause in his thinking. "It took Supergirl and the Flash ages to recruit me – I was happy to work on my own, no need for the Justice League. So, what do they do, but pair the keenest wannabe member with the least keen actual member?"
"I can see the logic in that," Ray stated as Vixen now swooped down, Ray following. "But why?"
"Because you're new in everything," Vixen said. "Before any request can be even considered by the full League, we need to assess you and decide if you are ready."
"So, what exactly are we doing?" Ray asked.
"Scouting," Vixen explained.
"For what?" Ray asked just as they landed on the outskirts of a small town.
"Anything," Vixen stated, pressing her Totem to un-summon the spirit of the eagle now.
"Where are we?" Ray asked.
"A few miles south of Anaheim," Vixen smirked. "Disneyland's nearby."
"Okay," Ray didn't know what to say about this, so let Vixen take the lead as she moved forward, down the road and passing houses. It was the middle of a workday, so no one was out – children were in school, adults were at work or otherwise engaged. The street was pretty much empty. "What are we looking out for?" He couldn't help but ask.
"Anything out of the ordinary. If you want to be a member of the League, you need to have a keen eye for crime," Vixen explained.
"Isn't that what the cops are for?" Ray asked.
"Of course. And they do a fantastic job. But sometimes if we can help, we're always welcome," Vixen explained.
"Well, it looks quite quiet to me…" Ray pointed out.
"Yes, it does," Vixen agreed.
"Maybe if we went into Anaheim itself…?" Ray pointed out.
"No. Not today," Vixen stated, pressing her Totem once more to summon the eagle again.
"Fine then. Where to next, boss?" Ray asked this.
"Just follow me," Vixen stated, taking to the sky.
Ray rolled his eyes, feeling this was wasted time but decided to follow anyway, using his suit to take to the air again. He didn't notice the red-headed girl watching him from behind a nearby truck.
-SuperEarth-
Barry and Cisco stepped out of the portal in the familiar farmhouse under the red dome that covered the Kryptonian Sanctuary that Rae now lived in with her wife, Kara, and extended family on New Justice.
They had arrived just in the kitchen, in the presence of Rae herself, who didn't even blink an eye as she was in the middle of baking. Clarky was sleeping on a dog bed and barely looked up at the multiverse arrival.
"Karry, Prime or SuperEarth?" She asked, not even looking up as Barry couldn't help but laugh at the question – this had just become the norm to her.
"SuperEarth," Barry stated as Rae finally did look up. Leona, her young daughter, was in a highchair by the kitchen table, playing with toys. "Why do you only ask for those three worlds?" Barry had wondered that for a while, why she seemed to always think it was one of those three Barrys contacting her.
"Because 90 percent of the time it's one of those three," Rae grinned at Barry now, going to hug her brother/cousin. "Hi, good to see you." Rae then turned to look at Cisco. "Mutant?"
"You betcha," Cisco stated, smiling pleasantly at Rae.
"So, what do I owe the pleasure?" Rae asked, taking of her apron now as Barry noted she must have been baking some pies – he noticed the familiar Kryptonian fruit on the counter for said pies.
"I hope I'm not disturbing you," Barry stated, but Rae waved it off as she moved over to Leona now.
"Barry here wants to see other Barrys who've become parents," Cisco stated, pointedly.
"Oh," Rae paused. "Well, I'm not you but by the sounds of it, are you about to be a dad yourself?" she asked Barry.
"Check and mate," Cisco stated.
"Hey, I can talk for myself," Barry stated to Cisco, who shut his mouth at this, and Rae giggled. Cisco smirked at the attitude though. "But yeah, Cisco's right, I wanted to see other Barrys who've became dads, cos I am – actually, I already am."
"Already am a dad? Why wasn't I invited to the Baby Shower?" Rae asked, suddenly surprised by this.
"Because we're fostering," Barry countered, "and Kara's still pregnant – with twins."
"Whoa, okay, there a lot to unpack from that," Rae stated, taking Leona from her highchair now. "Firstly, congratulations on the pregnancy – how far along is Kara?"
"Just reached four months," Barry stated, grinning.
"You worried about being a dad?" Rae had to ask.
"Actually no. I thought I would be when Kara announced it, but I can't wait – I babysit enough times for Jesse Wells," Barry explained.
"Sweet," Rae smiled, deciding not to address the Jesse comment. "And the fostering?"
"Zari and Adrianna Tarazi," Barry stated. "They recently lost their parents, and I just knew I had to take them in…"
"I know that feeling," Rae stated.
"You do?" Barry asked, surprised. "Because of Chris...?" he referenced the clone of her Clark whom Rae and Kara had taken in a while back.
"No, Courtney," Rae said, surprising Barry. Barry hadn't known Rae had taken in someone else. "When she showed up here I just knew I had to be there for her. And not just because she's related to my Courtney Whitmore - well, sort of."
"A lot to unpack from that now," Barry pointed out, but Rae waved it off with her free hand.
"So, you're checking up on other Flashes who've become parents?" Rae surmised.
"Basically, yeah," Barry explained. "My reasoning for coming here is… well, forgive me if it sounds wrong of me, but I never saw you as the mother-figure," Barry stated, Rae frowning at this, "you always seemed more… leader-y to me, rather than motherly."
"Well, it's no lie I did hide behind the persona of the Flash for way too long," Rae mused, "and it took a long time for me to find out who Rachel Garrick was compared to the Flash, but honestly I always wanted to be a mother – in fact, when I was taken into the Speed Force some years ago now, she showed me the perfect life, of having kids and living here, of balancing my life between the Flash and Rae. I think I found that now though."
"Interesting," Barry mused, his eyes wandering to Leona now, not sure what else to say to this.
"And hey, if you're concerned you won't connect to your kids – the biological ones, not the fostered ones," Rae continued, "then you only need to look to the Speed Force herself. I didn't know my dad, not really, but through the Speed Force, through the helmet he made from her, I always felt a connection to him. The same connection I feel for Leona – beyond that of a mother's natural love, of course," Rae stated, bouncing Leona now, the little girl laughing at the movement. "You know, speedsters are connected in a way no one else is, and when the other speedster is your own child it's a new level." Rae held up her hand in front of Leona and moved it with speed, creating small lightning sparks. Leona laughed as she reached for the hand. Her own moving faster as well.
"Thanks," Barry couldn't help but smile at the play between mother and daughter. He'd never been worried that he wouldn't connect to the twins currently growing in his Kara's womb, but somehow this was reassuring regardless.
"No problem. Is that all you wanted to know?" Rae asked.
"Urm, yeah," Barry stated, realizing he'd just dropped in and interrupted her for something others could consider trivial.
"Ah, no problem," Rae dismissed, as if she was reading his mind. "You're my brother – well one of them, anyway – so a flying visit is just as good as staying over. Speaking of; which Flash are you seeing next? Wait, was I your first?"
"You were my first," Barry confirmed, Rae smirking at this, "but next is Prime and then Karry, of course."
"Speaking of Prime," Cisco spoke up, causing both Barry and Rae to pause at his sudden announcement, "you may need this for them…" he handed Barry a card from his person. Barry frowned at it; it wasn't sealed so he opened it only to smile at what was inside. Rae looked over his shoulder and then groaned at the card.
"Damnit," Rae now remarked.
"Of course," Barry grinned, ignoring Rae's remark. "The Big Three," he read off the card, "Skylar's third birthday."
"Yep!" Cisco chuckled. "I even had my Barry and Kara sign it on your behalf."
"Oh, thanks," Barry remarked, seeing the signatures of both him and Kara, realizing these were their Mutant Earth counterparts' signatures – they were identical to how he and his Kara would sign. "Wait, you knew I would…?"
"Be right back," Rae suddenly interrupted, a baby carrier forming from the Speed Force around her and Leona as she suddenly vanished in a flash of light with her child.
"I think she forgot it was Skye's birthday…" Barry mused, but before Cisco could react, Rae had returned, pen in hand, signing a card from herself, Kara and the family. Then she also had a plastic toy helmet - a replica of the one she wore, made for little kids.
"Here, please give them that," Rae stated, sealing the card in the envelope and handing it to Barry now along with the toy helmet. "Skye can play Flash."
"Thanks," Barry stated, about to take the card and the small gift Rae had.
"I'll take it," Cisco took the card from Rae before Barry could grab it, along with the toy helmet. "I have my Barry and Kara's card too," Cisco stated, adding Rae's card to a second which he had on himself. Barry and Rae nodded at this.
"I'll make sure to thank your Barry and Kara next time I see them," Barry remarked, now wondering why he hadn't gone to Mutant too – they had a whole hoard of kids over there, after all. Rae, meanwhile, had already put on her apron again with Leona back in her highchair.
"See you later, Rae. Maybe you can send a piece of pie over to us," Barry called as she waved at him.
"Can do. I can make a special one using Aunt Astra's favorite fruit," Rae said as Cisco opened the portal to Prime and moved through, Barry following giving Rae a smile and wave before heading in.
-SuperEarth-
Back on SuperEarth, Ray and Vixen were flying over Los Angeles when Vixen shouted out, redirecting their flight.
He hadn't seen it until she'd called, but now he recognised the robbery going on from the bank below them. This was a chance to prove his mettle, but he knew better than to go in, quite literally all guns blazing as he allowed Vixen to lead the charge.
They both landed in front of the bank at the same time, seeing the robbers within pointing their weapons at the cashiers while those in the public were now crouched down, hands on their heads.
"Cops haven't got here yet," Vixen commented; this robbery having only just started, it seemed.
"What's the plan?" Ray asked.
"I think with your abilities, maybe you can blast the weapons from the robbers' hands, while I speedily get the innocents out. You good for that?" Vixen asked.
"I'm prepared," Ray nodded. "On your word…?"
"Oh, element of surprise," Vixen added, causing Ray to pause at the remark. "You can shrink! Get in there, suddenly appear and use the distraction to disarm the robbers."
"I like the way you think," Ray smirked at the suddenly-altered plan; Vixen giving him a nod as he pressed a button on the arm of his suit, instantly shrinking to the size of a fly as he quickly shook off the unusualness of the technology – he hadn't used this more than a handful of times, and seeing everything suddenly so large was disarming, but he had a job to do as he used his suit's jetpack to take to the air and fly into the bank, unnoticed.
Noting there were only two armed robbers, Ray positioned himself between the two, was about to unshrink when an idea came to him – his weapons were just as powerful when this size as when normal so, smirking to himself now, he aimed at one of the robber's shotguns and fired.
The blast knocked the weapon from the robber's hands, much to the surprise of both as Ray quickly unshrunk and took aim at the other's shotgun, disarming the other robber before he could fully react.
"I think this bank heist has gone on long enough," Ray remarked, knowing it had barely started anyway.
"What…?" one of the robbers asked, but there was a flash of speed as Vixen – in full cheetah mode – quickly ran into the bank, grabbing the innocent employees and members of the public, to rush them to safety. Her speed barely compared to the Flash, however.
"You can call me ATOM, and you really need to think before you rob a bank with the Justice League nearby," Ray added, moving forward to tackle one of the robbers, who went to move to a handgun, but Ray stopped him.
"But you're not Justice League," the other robber remarked once Ray had his companion on the floor. Ray turned, seeing another weapon aimed at him, but the robber was knocked to the ground by Vixen now, who had knocked him unconscious at the same time.
"Okay, not bad ATOM," Vixen stated. "But I do have pointers.…" at that moment the sound of sirens was heard; Vixen and Ray looking to the windows outside to see that the police had arrived. "Come on, lets help these cops out."
"We help them out too?" Ray asked assuming they would just fly away and the cops would take the robbers at this point.
"Yeah, we need to explain how we stopped the perpetrators and give witness statements. What did you think we do, stop crimes and then run away?" Vixen asked.
"Urm…" Ray blushed under his helmet at this.
"You really are green," Vixen shook her head as she picked up the robber she'd taken out and Ray followed her lead, taking his robber out of the bank to face the police.
From the gathering crowds, a redheaded young woman watched the unravelling scene with a frown and a sigh. "Why do you want to be involved in this, Ray?" she asked herself.
-SuperEarth-
SuperEarth's Barry and Cisco's portal opened in a familiar-yet-unfamiliar living area as Barry looked around, seeing those gathered. Barry momentarily took in himself and Kara, the clone of Kal-El, called Colin, two older people as well as Jesse and Harry Wells. Powie was giving Skylar, today supporting two pigtails, rides while Polly barked happily at the pair.
"Hey," Prime's Barry spoke up being the first to greet the duo.
"Hi," SuperEarth Barry waved. "Happy Birthday to Skye," he added; the three-year-old on the dog waving at him for this celebration. "We've got cards," SuperEarth Barry added, pulling the card Cisco had just given him from his shirt.
"And this," Cisco said holding up the toy helmet and his own world and New Justice's card. "New Justice Rae said Skye can play Flash," Cisco added of the helmet
"Flash!" Skye called as Cisco put the helmet on her head.
"Thanks," Prime Barry smiled, moving over and taking the card. Jesse and Harry were in conversation with Colin but nodded their greetings to him regardless. "Not exactly how we play Flash on this Earth though." Prime Barry pointed out, but wasn't going to do anything as Skye seemed happy with the toy helmet for the moment while still on Powie's back.
"I didn't know you had this place too," SuperEarth Barry couldn't help but remark at the home. "It's almost identical to the townhouse me and Kara now have."
"You got this townhouse on your world?" Kara spoke up, surprised by this.
"Yeah, figured it was better than the apartment Kara and I had," SuperEarth Barry stated as the older woman drew her attention back to Skye. "Kandar now has our old place."
"Well, this is my grandparents place now," Kara stated, indicating the older man who was reading a newspaper and the older woman now playing with Skye and Powie. "Have you met Grandpa Seg and Grandma Nyssa?"
"No, I haven't," SuperEarth Barry pointed out, Seg looking up from his newspaper to nod at Barry.
"Which world are you from?" Seg asked.
"Urm, SuperEarth," Barry stated.
"Means nothing to me," Seg stated, dismissively.
"Oh Seg, play nice," Nyssa stated, getting off the floor now to move over to SuperEarth Barry and shake his hand. Polly ran over to her mother and Skye to playfight as Skye rolled off the elder dog, laughing. The helmet falling on the floor and Skye grabbing it.
"I take it you're with a version of our granddaughter?" Nyssa asked.
"I am," SuperEarth Barry nodded.
"Any children?" Nyssa asked.
"Now that you mention it…" SuperEarth Barry started.
"No way! Congrats, man," Prime Barry moved forward again, giving his double a hug at the implication of his words.
"I actually took in two girls recently, as well," SuperEarth Barry countered.
"Dude!" Prime Barry grinned at this.
"My Kara's expecting twins," SuperEarth Barry added, amused at Prime Barry's growing reaction.
"It's why he's here," Cisco voiced, cutting off Prime Barry before he could cry out at the news.
"Oh?" Prime Barry instead turned to Cisco at this.
"I wanted to see other mes who've taken on to fatherhood," SuperEarth Barry stated before Cisco could interrupt again.
"Oh, cool," Prime Barry paused at this. "Worried?"
"No actually. I just wanted to see comparisons, I suppose," SuperEarth Barry pointed out.
"Well, here you have it," Prime Barry stated, swooping down and picking up Skye now, who blew freeze breath at her father. The helmet now fell off onto the floor where the group decided to leave it for the moment.
"Oh, Kryptonian powers," SuperEarth Barry stated, not sure why he was surprised by this.
"Yeah, she's picked up some of Kara's powers," Prime Barry stated as Kara herself now sat next to her grandfather while Nyssa moved off into the kitchen.
"How have you handled that?" SuperEarth Barry couldn't help but ask.
"Honestly, in private it's easy enough. It's all about control; letting Skye know when it is and isn't appropriate – in public though, at first at least, it was difficult, especially the heat vision. But she has control over it all now, she just plays with it when she knows she can," Prime Barry said.
"Yeah" Skye stated. "Mummy taught me. I can fly!"
"Oh wow, flying too," SuperEarth Barry stated, in a slight baby voice to Skye.
"Yeah, that one's fun," Prime Barry groaned. "She can't fly too high yet though."
"Daddy doesn't let me fly," Skye added, pouting at this. "Daddy loves running with me."
"That I do, little one," Prime Barry cooed before adding to SuperEarth Barry. "She's quite good at the speed stuff, but I think she's more Kryptonian than speedster. It funny the flying though as we haven't seen other half-Kryptonians able to yet."
"When did she start developing the Kryptonian powers?" SuperEarth Barry had to ask. His mind wondering now if his kids would be able to fly or not since Prime Barry had said it seemed unusual.
"She was about six month olds when she first used freeze breath," Kara was the one to say it now. "She blew it right in Polly's face and sacred the poor dog." Skye looked down at this, obviously sad she has scared Polly
"Yeah, that one freaked Polly out a little," Prime Barry stated, glancing at the dog still playfighting with her mother. "Heat vision and flying came a little later, though. Honestly, it's nothing to worry about, really. If your kids are anything like Skye here, each power should come on individually. Apart from speed – that came on day one, essentially. She was crawling before most kids and was speedily crawling too. From the way Caitlin explains it, if you're born a speedster you have a connection to the Speed Force from day one, but it takes some time to get active powers. Unless you're like Rae and the Speed Force saves your life."
"Three years running!" Skye called out at this, holding out three fingers to SuperEarth Barry
"That's right," Prime Barry cooed again. "You're three and you've been running since you could walk."
"Thank goodness her parents both have powers to keep up," Kara stated, coming up to kiss her husband. "Grandma's made cakes."
"Cake!" Skye stated, jumping from her father's hold as Prime Barry laughed. She momentarily took to the air before landing on the floor with the ease of a ballerina.
"Hey, where's Alura?" SuperEarth Barry asked, knowing full well Krypton existed on Prime, so the extended El family should have been around to celebrate the big day, too.
"She'll be along later. Joe too – you caught us on the first wave of birthday celebrations," Prime Barry explained.
"And that's where we'll leave you," Cisco stated, SuperEarth Barry turning to Cisco in surprise. "I don't have all day and you want to go to Karry, too," Cisco added, SuperEarth Barry sighing at this.
"Since when don't you have all day?" Prime Barry asked. "You're usually bored back on your world."
"Not the point," Cisco said. "He wants to go to Karry Universe, but I guess we can get a piece of cake before we go." Prime Barry laughed at this.
"Oh, say hi to them for me, Karry I mean; I think today is Kent's one-month anniversary, too," Prime Barry pointed out as Nyssa came out from the kitchen with an extravagantly decorated chocolate cake. "And hey didn't Leona just turn one at the beginning of the month? I sent a gift." SuperEarth Barry paused at that and then realized his counterpart was right. He had forgotten Leona's first birthday but Rae hadn't said anything about it.
Cisco did wait for them to sing Happy Birthday and each got a slice of cake before he opened a portal to Karry Universe
-SuperEarth-
On SuperEarth, Ray and Vixen were back in the skies, Ray beginning to realize he had a lot to learn from his mentor as they were now reaching the local area of Bakersfield.
"Down there," Vixen shouted, pointing to the obvious car chase going on below them.
"How do you stop a car chase?" Ray asked. "I mean I could get into the passenger's seat…"
"Normally I summon the spirit of an elephant to stop the car in it's tracks," Vixen explained. "You got anything like that?"
"Well, I mean I can grow to a huge amount," Ray mused. "Actually, I could do something similar to the elephant thing; I need to reconfigure my armor."
"Let's see it, Green Boy," Vixen remarked.
"Green…?" Ray asked but didn't bother to question the nickname further as he now flew down toward the car, changing the settings on his suit as he did so.
Landing a few feet from the now-approaching car, Ray polarized his suit, making it tough against oncoming pressures as he braced himself and held out his hands. The car hit him, albeit trying to swerve him at the same time, but the suit remained strong as he barely felt the collision and stood his ground.
The car didn't flip, but did head straight into a pillar, coming to a dead stop as the cop cars reached him and the car thief – who Ray could see was now unconscious behind the wheel. Before any of the cops could get out of their cars to question the sudden appearance of ATOM, Vixen landed beside him.
"Good job," Vixen remarked, nodding to the police who now backed off at a member of the Justice League appearing on the scene. "Bit messy, but not bad," she added.
"Thanks?" Ray asked, just as a lone cop came up.
"New member of the Justice League?" the cop asked.
"Not yet," Ray shook his head, pressing a button now on his suit to depolarize it.
"Well, not bad… ATOM, right? I remember from the Killer Croc incident last month. It was all over the news," the cop continued.
"That's right, thanks," Ray grinned, noticing a crowd of onlookers was building, noticing a red-headed young woman in the crowd was looking directly at him.
"If that's all, officer?" Vixen asked politely.
"Yeah, thanks for the help, you two," the cop replied.
"ATOM?" Vixen called to Ray at this, who was distracted by the young woman in the crowd.
"What…?" Ray asked, but the officer gave them a nod as he went back to his fellow cops, getting the car thief out of the wreckage.
"Come on, Green Boy," Vixen stated, Ray now turning to her.
"Really. All the nicknames in the world and you're going to call me that?" Ray complained.
"You're greener than Kermit," Vixen joked, taking to the skies again as Ray followed, wondering what they were going to do next.
-SuperEarth-
Now Cisco and Barry's portal opened in the familiar penthouse of Karry Universe, to the unfamiliar sound of a baby crying.
"Oh, come on!" Amelia Allen shouted to SuperEarth Barry and Cisco. "I had just got Kent all lovely for the photo and then that portal scares him!" Amelia was in the middle of the living room and baby Kent was on the floor lying on a blanket. SuperEarth Barry could see the words 'Today I am this month's old' and then the numbers one to twelve - Kent was dressed like Mickey Mouse and a Minnie and Goofy stuffed toy was around the 'one', to indicated the age.
"I wish you'd give up on that thing," Karry Barry countered, coming down the stairs. "Hi," he added to SuperEarth Barry with a yawn. "Which world?"
"Hi," SuperEarth Barry replied. "SuperEarth… and he's Mutant," Barry pointed to Cisco at this. "We, erm, didn't mean to scare little Kent…"
"Oh, he'll be fine," Karry Barry dismissed, "Amelia though…"
"I'm trying to take a cute one-month photo of him," Amelia stated, repositioning the crying baby.
"And you know how our socials will blow up with that picture," Karry Kara now stated, having been in the kitchen area heating up a bottle.
"Why do you think I'm doing it? You guys suck when it comes to social media," Amelia remarked.
"Which is why we have a whole social media department at STAR Co.," Karry Barry sighed at this.
"Yeah, covering your work life, not your personal lives," Amelia stated.
"Whatever," Karry Barry dismissed his sister as Kara now picked up the crying baby to feed him.
"What do we owe the pleasure of your visit?" Karry Barry asked now, turning to the multiverse duo.
"This one's adopted two kids and is about to be the parent of twins so is coming for advice," Cisco stated quickly, pointing at SuperEarth Barry who rolled his eyes at the bluntness of the statement.
"No way!" Karry Barry stated.
"Congratulations," Karry Kara added, Kent now settling down in his mother's arms.
"Thanks, and the girls we're fostering – not officially adopted," SuperEarth Barry corrected Cisco. "Honestly, I came here to just see how you did it. I already visited New Justice and Prime – you were the last on the list," SuperEarth Barry explained.
"You really should go to Mutant sometime too," Karry Kara pointed out, now sitting down on the couch.
"Yeah, I did think that," SuperEarth Barry began.
"No way, this is your last world then I'm taking you back," Cisco stated. "I have a life too, you know."
"You do?" Karry Kara asked, echoing Prime's statement of Mutant Cisco always being bored.
"How would it delay your life to bring him to Mutant? It's your home world. You can drop him off on the farm and tell him to take the system back," Amelia pointed out.
"Just… shut up," Cisco said, and SuperEarth Barry laughed at this reaction. If there was anything going on in the world, Mutant would tell them, anyway, so he wasn't worried as to why he wasn't being allowed there.
"Well, that clears that," Karry Barry laughed, taking a seat next to his wife. "Maybe later, yeah?"
"Yeah, later," SuperEarth Barry stated, taking a seat opposite the parents now.
"So, advice?" Karry Kara asked, Kent finishing his bottle now and Kara went to burp the baby.
"Yeah, well, as I said, I've been to New Justice and Prime already – it's Skye's birthday there by the way," SuperEarth Barry began. "They said to say hi to you."
"Oh nice. Yeah, we'll be popping over later," Karry Barry pointed out. "We need to drop off our gifts for Skye."
"What advice did they give?" Karry Kara asked, not going into what they'd got Skye.
"Well, New Justice I just wanted to see how Rae felt as a mom," SuperEarth Barry explained, "how she took to it and the connection to the Speed Force she has with Leona. Prime explained the powers, actually – wasn't intentional, but it worked."
"And we're left with everything else," Karry Barry joked. Kent was happy now and Amelia went to take him from Kara, putting him back on the blanket and SuperEarth Barry saw her taking a couple of photos.
"Good boy," Amelia said, picking up Kent and putting him in a bassinet they had in the living room.
"New-borns," Karry Kara began. "Well, they can be a handful for sure. I mean the crying at night is probably the worst. I had forgotten that until this little man," she indicated the basinet and SuperEarth Barry could see Kent was starting to fall asleep now he was fed and happy.
"Yeah, Romana and Star have been sneaking to Amelia and Winn's floor on many occasions," Karry Barry pointed out.
"Not so much sneaking," Amelia spoke up. "The first night they did it they entered our room."
"I didn't know that," Karry Kara frowned.
"It's fine," Amelia shook it off. She was looking at her phone and typing as she talked. "Alura and Nora are right now taking a nap because of being kept up all night."
"So, crying," SupeEarth Barry pointed out.
"The midnight and early morning feeding – I'd almost forgotten that, too," Karry Kara added. "With the twins it was both of us with a child, but we alternate with Kent."
"Which brings me to the lack of sleep," Karry Barry added with another yawn.
"Yeah, we haven't slept properly in a month," Karry Kara added. "Forgot that, as well."
"But Krypto has been our babysitter throughout," Karry Barry added, the dog wasn't anywhere to be seen right now and hadn't been on Prime, so SuperEarth Barry wondered where he was - but since Amelia had said Alura and Nora were napping, maybe Krypto was with them. SuperEarth Barry did see their cat, Hex, come up and taken the blanket Amelia had left on the floor for her own to play with.
"Lara is his kid, she'd be good with your twins too," Karry Kara continued for her husband about Krypto.
"She's already being overprotective of Kara being pregnant. She even took to Zari and Adri easily," SuperEarth Barry mused. "The girls we took in," he added to the confused look from the Karry group.
"Oh yeah, the fostered children," Karry Barry mused at this. "But on the advice side of things, of course, people would say the financial strain babies provide them is hard, but considering we're multibillionaires now…" Karry Barry mused.
"Money we're fine for," Barry dismissed. "WellsAllen Tech is doing well, and Kara is still happy at CatCo."
"That's good," Karry Barry nodded at this information.
"I have to ask," SuperEarth Barry added, "and a slight side-track here, but you already had twins – Nora and Alura – then you took in Star and Romana… why?"
"Why?" Karry Barry glanced to his wife at this. "Is this about the kids your fostering?"
"Yeah, I love them to pieces already but if I'd have had the twins first, I don't know if I could have taken them in too," SuperEarth Barry reasoned, truthfully.
"We resisted at first, but it became too obvious Romana and Star were a part of our family and we had to take them in. We did think Amelia might be a suitable parent for them but that didn't last long," Karry Kara explained.
"Those two are obviously your kids and hey, with me and Winn living downstairs it's like we're an extra set of parents anyway," Amelia dismissed – obviously only living downstairs, after all.
"I do have to admit, having Amelia so close is very helpful - especially for superhero business. We always have someone with us, and the kids adore their Aunt Amelia and Uncle Winn," SuperEarth Barry said. "Don't you have an Amelia?" SuperEarth Barry saw Amelia trying to signal to her Barry not to mention that.
"I don't think Mila will be much help there - she lives all the way out in Coast City, now," SuperEarth Barry admitted. Ever since she had her soul returned to her after Enchantress's defeat, she had become more like her older, fun loving self, but she was happy with the life she'd since forged in Coast City with Crystal Snow. "But my parents and Aunt Astra have already said they are more than willing to help."
"That's too bad about your Mila," Kara said sharing a look with her Barry that SuperEarth Barry knew meant they were talking through their bond.
"You'll do a fine job," Karry Barry now stated to his SuperEarth double. "You've taken in those siblings and now you'll soon have twins – life won't be the same as it was before–"
"It will be better," Karry Kara added, smiling at her son in the bassinet now. At that moment both hers and Barry phone binged, though.
"Amelia…" Karry Barry sighed, seeing his message. "Already there are three articles – no, four – about Kent's first month. I told you not to do that picture."
"I couldn't resist. He's too cute not to show off," Amelia smirked turning her phone to show the photo. SuperEarth Barry had to admit it was a cute picture. "Next month is Winnie the Pooh."
"On that note, I need to take you back," Cisco stated, getting up now as SuperEarth Barry knew this was their cue to leave.
"There's chocolate cake on Prime," SuperEarth Barry told the pair. "Nyssa made it – Kara's grandma. It's amazing."
"We can't wait," Karry Kara smirked at this as Cisco opened a portal for himself and Barry.

Now somewhere over Fresno on SuperEarth, Ray was keeping a cautious eye open to the ground below; everyone and everything were tiny specs on the map below them, but he was quickly getting a keen eye for danger.
"Hey, something's happening there," Ray remarked to Vixen, who joined his eyesight, seeing several people – four to be precise – were running for no immediate obvious reasons.
"You take the lead, Kermit," Vixen stated, her nickname had moved on now and Ray couldn't help but chuckle at the new name this time.
"On it," Ray nodded, speeding down. Getting closer, he could see that the group running were young adults, maybe teenagers, but they could have been in their 20s. Further behind them were two lone security guards from what had to be the local shopping mall – this was definitely fishy.
Manoeuvring quickly, Ray landed some distance from the running youths, all of whom stopped in their tracks at the sudden appearance of the vigilante.
"What the…?" the leading youth stated.
"What exactly is going on here?" Ray asked, trying to sound as authoritative as possible.
"Come on, Dom, let's go!" one of the youth's friends insisted, grabbing their leader's arm to move while some of his friends began to run too, but this time Vixen landed before them, forcing them back just as the two security guards reached them.
"Thank you, Vixen," one of the guards called as the leader of the youths, Dom, according to his friend earlier, made the split-second decision to run, but Ray was quicker and grabbed the man's arm, not letting him go anywhere.
"What do we have here?" Vixen was the on to question this as Ray turned to see she had looked in one of the other youth's bags to pull out miscellaneous jewellery items.
"Seems like we wanted to get rich from stolen goods," Ray spoke as the security guards managed to stop the other two youths from running.
"The cops would love this one," Vixen smirked as she pulled her Justice League communicator from her person with her free hand. The youths didn't have anything else to do as she pressed the quick dial for the police.
"We didn't–" the two youths whom the security guards had a hold on chorused – on inspection, these two were siblings, not that that mattered.
"I think the evidence speaks for itself," the security guard holding one of them remarked, pulling more jewellery from this one's bag.
"You're bold, I have to hand it to you," Ray remarked.
"And what are you, robot man?" The leader, Dom, snapped now.
"You can call me ATOM and you can call those - cops," Ray smirked as two cop cars were now speeding toward them. The youths struggled against their captors but to no avail as the cars stopped and four officers came out.
As Vixen and the other guards explained the situation to the cops, Ray's eye found a few people were gathered off from them to watch, their phones out – all except one. A redheaded young woman who was looking directly at him.
"It can't be…" Ray muttered, having recognized her from only a few minutes ago, miles away – how could she have got this far, so quickly? It was possible she was a meta, able to teleport, but why was she following them? Why was she looking directly at him?
"Come on, Kermit," Vixen's voice distracted him, Ray turning to look at Vixen. "You're doing well. One more and I think we should call it a day."
"Right," Ray stated, glancing back to the crowd, but the young woman had gone. "Right," he added again as Vixen raised her eyebrow.
"What's up?" Vixen asked.
"Nothing… I just thought I saw… doesn't matter. Come on, let's fly," a little too enthusiastically, Ray now took to the sky now that the four youths had been relocated inside the cop cars and the security guards were giving their own statements.
"You're a strange one, Kermit," Vixen called from behind Ray now as he looked back at her.
"If you keep calling me that, people will think my hero-name is Kermit and not ATOM," he now complained, his mind not totally on the conversation.
"Deal," Vixen smirked.
"What…?!" Ray groaned, knowing full well she wanted 'Kermit' to catch on.
-SuperEarth-
Barry arrived back in the townhouse, surprised that Cisco wasn't beside him.
"Oh, he bailed mid-hop," Kayla remarked on Barry's confusion – she hadn't moved from her spot on the sofa, and neither had Kara.
"He can do that?" Barry asked.
"Yup! Open a portal within a portal. Prime Cisco taught him that, come to think of it," Kayla mused. "He did it to me once as a joke - sending me to a different world than what I thought I was going to mid-hop. He stopped laughing and regretted it once I got to him using my own portal hopper," Kayla had a smirk on her face now.
"Well, how was it?" Kara now asked, standing to kiss her husband, Lara yawning at having been disturbed from her own position on the couch.
"Informative," Barry remarked, "but our kids will be in good hands."
"I never doubted it for a second," Kara chuckled, before adding, "Isn't today's Skye's birthday?"
"Yeah, and Kent's one month anniversary too," Barry added. "Prime had cake."
"Oh, I have to go there," Kayla stated, jumping up now. "Grandma Nyssa's cakes are out of this world – literally."
"How did you know Nyssa baked it?" Barry countered.
"Because this is Prime that we're talking about," Kayla laughed, "want me to get you a slice?" she added to Kara.
"Rao no," Kara shook her head, "pregnancy sickness…" she explained as Kayla nodded, heading from the room to get changed.
"Maybe time to mention I asked Rae to send us one of the pies she was baking. She said something about making a special one with fruit Aunt Astra likes," Barry said.
"Aunt Astra will love that," Kara said with a smile, leaning into her husband.
"It's soon time to get the girls from school," Barry mused, looking at the clock. "This day has gone by fast."
"For some of us. All the while, Mari is training Ray," Kara pointed out.
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Any word from her?" Barry asked.
"He's getting there. Kermit," Kara smirked.
"Kermit?" Barry asked.
"He's so green in the hero work, he's practically a frog, according to Mari," Kara informed him.
"Oh, poor Ray," Barry remarked, but couldn't help but chuckle.
-SuperEarth-
Ray's mind was no longer on the hero work; his mind was on the redheaded young woman he'd seen in two different places today at two very different locations. He barely heard Vixen talking ahead of himself.
"We're nearly back at Central-National," Vixen was saying. "We can see what's going on there and call it a day."
"Okay," Ray remarked as they now followed the river that Ray knew separated both Central and National City, seeing the familiar joint cities in the distance as they got closer and closer.
"There's something happening at the alien bar," Vixen stated, Ray looking back to see she was looking at her communicator as she flew.
"There's an alien bar?" Ray asked.
"Long story. There's a bar set up for meta and aliens – more metas, really, as the alien count here is low," Vixen stated.
"That wasn't exactly a long story," Ray pointed out, amused.
"You're right. Follow me," Vixen stated, Ray falling back to let the Totem Bearer take the lead as she directed them to the National portion of Central-National City.
Landing outside of a shabby building, it was obvious to the pair that a fight was indeed happening – a blonde man was in a fist fight with a another, darker individual and a small crowd was cheering them on. That was, until the two heroes landed.
"Oy!" Vixen shouted, the two fighters stopping; was bleeding. "What's going on here?"
"Oh, Vixen," the blonde man sighed.
"Kandar," Vixen rolled her eyes, recognising Kara's own brother, but not his fighting buddy.
"I only told the alien freak that he and his other alien freak should go back to where they came from," the darker guy spat at Vixen now.
"Don't you dare call my boyfriend–" Kandar began, about to move forward to hit the man again.
"Hey, hey!" Vixen shouted. "You!" She pointed at the darker man as Ray had moved forward to hold Kandar back – the man was remarkably strong. "Get out of here and don't you dare insult a Kryptonian again," she told the man, who suddenly paled at the word 'Kryptonian'. "Yes, that's right – this man is related to Supergirl and Superman so if you think insulting him due to his sexuality would do anything…" Vixen started as Kandar relaxed in Ray's grip, Ray now realizing why the man was so strong.
"Sorry," the dark man growled, moving off quickly as Vixen turned to Kandar now. "Now you, in the bar, now," she stated, Ray letting go of Kandar and about to follow when his eyes found her again – the red headed woman was stood nearby, looking directly at him.
Making a split-second decision, Ray moved toward her, expecting her to run, but was glad when she didn't as she instantly steeled herself.
"Okay, what is it? Who are you?" Ray asked, the woman pausing at the question.
"What do you mean…?" the woman asked.
"Somehow you've been spying on me and Vixen all day," Ray complained. "Why? What's the point?"
"I just… wait, you don't know me?" the young woman asked, obviously shocked at this.
"Should I?" Ray asked.
"It's me, Raymond… Jade," the woman explained.
"You… know who I am?" Ray asked, looking around before grabbing the woman to move her to a quieter area.
"Of course, I know my own brother!" the woman, Jade, countered, as they moved, causing Ray to stop in his tracks. "Even if you are in that ridiculous outfit."
"Brother? But I don't…" Ray began. "Did my brother set you up?"
"Sidney? We both know he's always too busy to care for us," the woman stated.
"I'm confused," Ray stated. "I don't have a sister…"
"Not on this world either? Damnit," the woman groaned.
"This world…?" Ray repeated, not knowing of the multiverse yet.
"Fine. Okay," the woman, Jade, stated. "Long story short, I'm Amber Jade Palmer, or AJ for short, your little sister, and I'm from another world – I believe they call the world Legacy Earth – trying to find out why the hell anyone would want to be a superhero."
Ray didn't know how to react to this as he looked the redhead up and down. His head was beginning to spin.
Post-chapter Note 1: Did anyone see that coming? Ray has a multiverse sister! I do hope you all liked.
Post-chapter Note 2: Before we find out more about Amber Jade Palmer, we shall be taking a few week's break- but don't worry, as next week will be for a special Hitchhikers chapter!
