As Sakura fell back onto her pillow unconscious, Shikamaru and Sai entered the room. Before getting far they came to a quick stop. The two observed Sakura being thoroughly examined by the nurse. Naruto stepped back to where his two friends were. The last thing Naruto wanted to do was get in the medics' way.

"We've got problems," Naruto Sighed as he drug a hand through his hair.

"Honestly, we give you a few minutes alone with her and you did this," Sai quipped gesturing towards The unconscious Sakura in an amused tone.

Naruto let out a deep sigh, not bothering to look at his pale skinned friend. "Shut up," Naruto replied, already annoyed with his friend.

"What a drag, I was hoping she would fill us in on what happened to her," Shikamaru groaned holding his head in his hands.

"Well that doesn't seem like it's going to happen for a while," naruto replied, pinching the bridge of his nose.

Naruto quickly recovered from his stressed demeanor and looked to the young nurse. "What is your assessment of the situation?" Naruto asked, taking his eyes off Sakura and looking at the nurse.

"I think she might have amnesia Hokage-sama. Of course my level of expertise doesn't deal with matters like this," the medic replied with a disappointing look.

Naruto looked at the woman for a minute before giving her a small smile. He then bowed a little, throwing the nurse off guard. "Thank you for all your help, um?" The blonde gave her a questioning look, searching for a name.

"Emiko, Hokage-sama," the girl hastily replied with a blush, waving off Naruto's polite manner.

"Sai, summon Tsunade-bachan, tell her it's urgent.

"Right," Sai said before disappearing.

"If she really does have amnesia then we will need the interrogation squad," Shikamaru added, looking at Naruto.

The blonde Hokage nodded his head in acknowledgment. "Summon Ino, but no one else is to know about this,"

Shikamaru nodded in affirmation, Naruto then looked at Emiko. "We need to move Sakura two the containment ward of the hospital," the young nurse winced at the order.

The containment ward was an underground facility beneath the hospital. This is where rogue and enemy ninja were housed while being treated. The ward would also be used for people who didn't need to be seen. This usually meant ninja undercover or Ambu members. This part of the hospital was under 24/7 surveillance by the Ambu black ops. Some thought of it more as a prison than a hospital.

"But Hokage-sama don't you think those accommodations are a little too harsh for Sak-," however, Naruto cut her off before she could continue.

"Don't worry it will be fine, if Sakura does have amnesia then she needs to be kept under surveillance. I understand it's not uncommon for a person with amnesia to have a manic episode? If we let Sakura lose control she could level half the village before we could stop her," The nurse could only nod at Naruto's justification.

After that, other nurses came into the room and immediately moved into action. Naruto couldn't help but give Sakura a worried look as she was wheeled out of the room on a stretcher. Shikamaru knowingly put his hand on Naruto's shoulder to reassure his friend. "Don't worry I know we'll figure this out,"

"We always do," Naruto said with a weak smile as they walked out of the room.

XXXXXXX

This time when Sakura awoke there was no headache, and her body wasn't nearly as sore. She blinked a few times before looking around in the room. This whole waking up in a bed thing was getting old to her. Her eyes widened as she realized her location.

"The containment ward?!" Sakura yelled out in frustration. Of all the places they could put her they chose here she thought.

She looked around the room, this one was not inviting like the last one. The walls were devoid of any and everything. There were no windows, flowers, or generic pictures on the wall. There was only a bed, a small mirror in the corner, and more unfamiliar monitors like the ones in her previous room. Just as she was about to get up and figure out what was going on, the door opened.

In walked her master, the Godaime Hokage Tsunade. "Shishou!" Sakura yelled as she jumped up from the bed and hugged her master.

"Well I'm glad to see that you have the use of your legs again," Tsunade smirked.

"You know about that?" Sakura asked her Shishou, giving her a curious look.

Tsunade held up a folder she had been holding since she entered the room.

"Ahh I see," Sakura replied, she was starting to feel a little silly. It was like she couldn't think properly. She had always been trained to notice the little things. Yet, it annoyed her that simple things were slipping past her.

It was then Sakura realized she had seen Naruto earlier. She frowned remembering the Way he had tricked her like that. To joke that he was Hokage, when she hadn't seen him in over seven months was mean.

Sakura was about to say something else but Tsunade cut her off. "Listen kid let me talk for a minute, then you can tell me anything you want. Actually come to think of it I have a friend here to help as well," Tsunade smiled, then gestured for her to look towards the door. Not soon after the door came open again and this time Ino walked in.

Befuddled by the change of events, Sakura could only stare with her mouth open a bit. Ino didn't look old by any means however, there was a gracefulness about her. Gone was the 20-year-old girl she had known since she was six years old. That girl had been replaced with the woman standing before her. Sakura could see that purple was still her color. She spotted a purple collared shirt that was a crop top, underneath that was a necklace with a green pendant She still sported a long skirt hiding most of her legs. On her feet she wore High heel strappy sandals.

Sakura started to get a little nervous, her breathing began to get quicker and quicker. Had it been seven years she thought to herself. Maybe naruto was right about all of this after all.

Tsunade noticed the panic in Sakura's eyes and gave her a stern look. "you need to calm down or you're going to pass out again,"

Hearing these words Sakura took a minute to calm herself. She then took a deep breath and immediately looked back at the two with confident eyes.

"First off, it's good to see that you're doing ok forehead," Sakura rolled her eyes at Ino's childhood nickname for her, but let her continue.

"I'm here to examine your psyche to make sure everything's ok. From what we've heard you don't have complete amnesia. So we just need to assess where you're at, so I'll just ask a few questions,"

"Your name?" Ino question knowing Sakura knew the answer.

"Haruno Sakura," she quickly shot back.

This answer earned a pause from Ino who glanced at Tsunade before she quickly regained her focus.

Date of birth?

"May 28th," Sakura replied

"So then how old are you?" Ino slowly asked, giving Sakura a questioning look.

"I'm 20," after Sakura said that there was a very long pause.

"OK let's go to the rest of the questions," Ino said in an awkward tone, she was trying to remain impartial with her questioning, but it was getting hard.

They went through more questions, ranging from her favorite food, to her family members. After what seemed like an eternity Ino finally lowered the clipboard and smiled weakly. "OK well it looks like a lot of your memories are still there,"

"Why don't you tell us about the last memory you can remember,"

Hearing Ino's words made Sakura frown, She knew this protocol, they were going through the basic protocol for amnesia. However, Sakura was fairly certain she didn't have amnesia. Then again maybe Sakura did have memory loss and she was just overthinking it. Different possibilities began to swirl in her head, but she broke herself of the thoughts.

She took a deep breath and began to explain the mission that Sasuke and she had been on. After she was done Tsunade gave her a questioning look. Tsunade took a deep breath and folded her arms. Sakura couldn't help but notice the hard expression written on her face. Tsunade then turned her attention towards Ino and nodded, and with that Ino took a deep breath before addressing Sakura.

"I need to go into your mind and see the last memory you have," Sakura nodded, already familiar with Ino's jutsu. Sakura quickly recalled the numerous times Ino had used her jutsu to get information out of her. Sakura could honestly say she hated it everytime. However, this was a more serious matter and Sakura knew she had no choice. She quickly laid herself back down on the bed, and gave Ino a slight nod to continue

Before Sakura could blink, Ino took a hold of her mind.

"Mind possession jutsu!"

Ino was immediately transported into Sakura's mind. She quickly whisked her way through Sakura's memories. The younger ones lined up, even after the Great War her memory seemed accurate. It was Sakura's later memories that were irregular. Ino Quickly saw the battle between Sakura, Sasuke and the mysterious man. Ino got an ominous feeling from the sphere of energy Sakura and Sasuke had encountered. The feeling she had reminded her of the Chakra of the ten tailed beast. Ino quickly pushed the feeling aside and saw the rest of the memories. Ino ended her trip throughout Sakura's consciousness with her friend's last memory, it was of Sakura pushing Naruto off of her and onto the floor. Ino knew it was wrong but couldn't help but chuckle to herself at the exchange. It was after that Ino broke the jutsu and took a few deep breaths.

Sakura Immediately shot up in the bed and gave Ino a glare. "I hate it when you do that," Sakura huffed, shaking her head in discontent. It was official, Sakura was having a bad day. She blew a few rebellious strands of hair out of her line of vision. She then quickly crossed her arms as Ino gave Tsunade a worried look. Tsunade recognized the look of the blonde woman, but so did Sakura.

"Will one of you please tell me what's going on," Sakura said with annoyance very apparent in her voice. She was tired of being treated like a child, she deserved to be updated on the situation.

Ino looked from Sakura to Tsunade with a worried look. "Look forehead, just give us a few minutes outside the room and then we will be back.

Sakura paused for a while then reluctantly nodded as she watched the two leave the room. Sakura shook her head in frustration. If she was honest with herself she was starting to act like 12 years old Naruto. The pinkett did a mental checklist, she was extremely impatient, and wanted to yell at somebody until things were done. Sakura couldn't help but think to herself, what was in her memories that was so bad? Sakura had known Ino for years so she knew that look on her face. Something was really wrong, she just didn't know what.

Sakura thought back to their appearances. Her Master looked the same, but then again she had looked the same way for the past eight years, ever since Sakura had met her. Ino On the other hand looked different, not old, but different. Ino had a certain glow to her she couldn't put her finger on. She definitely looked like she had aged but not in a bad way. Then there was a Naruto, he looked….she was not going to get into that again. Sakura already had enough problems on her plate without her feelings confusing her more.

"Do I really have amnesia?" Sakura said to an empty room, putting her face in her hands in frustration.

As soon as Tsunade and Ino were out of Sakura's room they walked down a long hall into a meeting room. There sat Naruto, Shikamaru and Sai, they all had hopeful looks on their faces as they watched the two women filter into the room. However, when they saw the two's grim expressions their body language dropped.

The two women found seats in the room around the table the men were sitting at. Ino steepled her fingers together and let out a breath as she began to talk.

"The situation is much more grim than we thought. It seems that she may be a time traveler," Ino tailed off not really sure if she herself believed her own words.

Ino's analysis made Shikamaru sink further into his chair. Sai kept his same facial expression except his eyebrows perked up. Naruto on the other hand grimaced and ran his hand through his hair in a stressed motion.

"I think I need a cigarette," Shikamaru muttered.

"I don't smoke, but I think I need one too," Naruto added, this quickly got him a glare from Tsunade.

Tsunade began to speak. "I've looked through all her medical records and have done a full assessment on her body. She still has her body from this time however, she seems to think she is still 20 years old,"

With this the room got deadly silent as Tsunade motioned for Ino to speak. The young yamanaka cleared her throat before speaking. "The last few memories I saw while inside her mind were very interesting. She and Sasuke had been fighting someone. From what I saw they barely escaped with their lives. Actually, I'm not sure if Sasuke escaped at all. However, given him and Sakura went through the same experience, I think there's a fairly good chance he's still alive. Even so, the next memory she has was her waking up in the hospital," Ino said looking uncomfortable, the blonde if struggled to get out the next part.

"It also appears that given the memories that I saw, she might be dating Sasuke," Ino cringed as the words escaped her lips.

"That's impossible," Naruto uttered back in a quiet and disbelieved tone.

Ino continued, "Well it could be impossible, or it could be a different timeline. Her later events do not match up with the ones from this timeline,"

Shikamaru quickly spoke up again. "So you're telling me you think that she's from a different timeline? If so this goes far beyond the realm of a simple jutsu,"

Sai then cut in. "Well technically it's not impossible, for there to be multiple probabilities their must be an infinite number of realities,"

This again left the whole room in thought, this was simply too much to wrap their heads around. It was one thing to time travel, there were legends of this. However, it was another thing to time travel from another timeline to a future timeline. This was something completely unheard of.

"Are we sure that person is Sakura? It's not completely impossible for an enemy to clone a person and put memories in their head," Sai Interjected again, throwing out the possibility.

Tsunade quickly interjected. "We ran a DNA test among numerous others. It's safe to say that's Sakura, and not a clone. If she was a clone there would be small irregularities in her DNA sequencing. However, there were no irregularities, and that test is 99.9% accurate. Tsunade said as she was scanning Sakura's test results.

"During the fourth great Ninja War Haroromo-ojiisan made his way to our time to visit Sasuke and myself. Haroromo-ojiisan said something about multiple realities and seeing how things played out.," Naruto Sighed leaning back in his chair.

"Yes, but that was the sage of six paths, Sakura doesn't possess that kind of power, none of us do. The closest thing to that is you Naruto. However, Sasuke does possess the rinnegan," Tsunade added thinking maybe there was a possibility.

Ino quickly interjected "I'm not sure how she got here; but it definitely wasn't Sasuke. They were in a battle and they were losing pretty badly. They escaped by the hairs on the back of their necks from what I can tell. They had seemed to be trying to destroy an ancient ball of energy,"

This caught Shikamaru's attention, he quickly cleared his throat. "Years ago Kakashi sent Saskue out on a mission to find a great energy source. As the legend goes, it was created before the time of the sage of six paths. This is where it gets into Otsutsuki clan territory," Shikamaru paused before continuing.

"The sphere was said to be a dimensional gateway for the otsutsuki to jump from world to world. From what I can recall from the Intel, the sphere was said to be guarded by a fierce ancient opponent," Shikamaru said, tailing off.

"Then what came of the mission, and why don't I know about it?" Naruto said, giving Shikamaru his full attention.

"Well that was the thing, there was nothing to report. Sasuke and Karin went out to look for the supposed sphere. However, they never came across anything in their search. Furthermore, Sasuke came to the conclusion that whatever they were looking for was destroyed long ago. I'm sure I could dredge up the old mission report somewhere.

Naruto slowly nodded, taking in what Shikamaru said. "I'll definitely need that report, in the meantime we need to figure out what to do with her. We can't just let her go about the village as she pleases? Also what reverberation does this have throughout the different timelines?"

Tsunade promptly Interjected, now rubbing her temples. Feeling a headache coming on "I think it's safe to say that the time travel took a toll on her neurological system. When she was flustered the monitors registered a strain on her neurological network. This can make her prone to fits of passing out, or thinking irrationally,"

Shikamaru spoke up again, looking at everyone around the table. "I think it's safe to say that we can't keep her contained here forever. She'll need to integrate into our society until we can find a way to get her back home. I recommend that we do it slowly and cautiously. If we push her too fast then she could have a manic episode," Shikamaru physically cringed, The thought of Sakura going on a rampage was a scary one.

Sai thought they should add all possibilities into their deductive reasoning as he spoke again. "What about the timeline? For everything we do there's an outcome, so couldn't her being here affect our timeline?"

Sai finally hit the nail on the head. None of them had even thought about reverberations throughout the timeline. Sai continued on with his theory. "Just her being here in the NOW of our dimension could have a reverberating effect,"

The conference room was silent once again as everyone contemplated what was the best step forward.

"Well at this point we have to hope that no damage is being done to the timeline. For all we know this sequence of events was supposed to happen in the first place. Plus If we can find a way to put her back directly where she is supposed to be then there should be no problem, at least I'm hoping there's no problem. I think it's safe to say we need to get Sasuke back to the village as soon as possible," Naruto said, looking at Shikamaru, knowing his advisor could help with this.

With Naruto's words Shikamaru really felt his need for a cigarette grow. "Well that's going to be very troublesome, Sasuke's last report came in last night while you were out with the search parties. He informed us he was going into a black zone. He projected he wouldn't be able to contact the village for at least a couple of months. He also stated his return was about six months from now,"

"Six months!?" Naruto blurted out, the rest of the table did not look very optimistic either.

Tsunade quickly cut in before anyone could hit the panic button. "Look, I think it's best to slowly fill her in. However, If we give her too much at one time she could have an episode. The biggest thing is she needs is time, time to heal and rest. She has no broken bones or any bruises of any sort. Yet, her neural network is going to take time to recover. Also I'm pretty sure that portal was meant for non-humans and it's not natural for a human to travel through it. I think it's safe to say this has played a part in her recovery time,"

Naruto nodded his head affirming the retired Hokage's Analysis. "I agree with you, yet, It's going to be hard not to shock her though. There are a lot of things in this village that could rile her at any given moment. Given everything we know, I think she can spend a week in the hospital under surveillance, after which time we can release her from the hospital,"

Everyone in the room nodded in agreement before Ino spoke up. "And where exactly do you think we should house her? We can't exactly send her home right away. That would definitely have repercussions,"

Sai who had been quiet for a bit thought of a solution. "Why don't we just send her to live with her parents?"

At this idea Naruto lifted up an eyebrow. "Well, I guess that would work," Naruto said in a tone a little too high-pitched.

Sakura was starting to wonder when they were going to come back, when suddenly her door opened. In walked Ino, with a cheerful smile on her face.

"See, I told you I wouldn't be that long forehead," Ino teased as she stuck her tongue out at her best friend.

Sakura rolled her eyes at her friend's joke.

"Listen, I know that I have amnesia but I still remember when you said you were going to be back soon," Sakura said shaking her head at her friend's nonchalant attitude.

But before Sakura could get anything out Ino cut her off. "You don't have amnesia," The blonde kunoichi said as she leaned against the wall with her arms crossed, she was now closer to Sakura.

Sakura paused for a minute, what was wrong with her if she didn't have amnesia? Why would they put her in the containment ward of all places if she didn't? The questioning was getting to be a little much for the pink haired medic. Yet, to top it all off her friend now wore an unreadable expression on her face.

Sakura felt like crying as she held it together and continued her questioning. "Yo-you look different, exactly how long has it been since I was last in the village. And if I don't have amnesia then what's wrong with me?

Ino stiffened a little bit before giving Sakura a smile "I'm going to answer all your questions, but for me to do that you need to remain calm.

Sakura gave the best confident face she could. "You have my word," the pinkett replied nodding her head slowly. Ino gave her friend a small smile and motioned her over to the small mirror in the corner of the room. "I want you to calmly get up and go take a look at yourself in the mirror,"

Sakura chose not to question her friend and slowly got off the bed putting her feet on the cold floor. Sakura then slowly walked over to the mirror that was hanging on the wall. But as she got closer she started to hesitate, she didn't know what but something was off. Her friend and her Shishou were treating her as if she were some delicate flower.

As she reached the mirror she realized this was the first time she had seen a reflection of herself since she had been in the hospital. When she looked at herself her breath hitched in the back of her throat. She had to remain calm was all she thought in her head.

Looking at herself she realized her hair was a mess, she cringed inwardly thinking about the last time she had brushed her hair. However, after realizing how untamed her hair was she then noticed it was longer than she remembered. The next thing she noticed was the Hyakugou Seal in the middle of her forehead, she touched the seal quickly before going back to her observation. She was thoroughly unimpressed with the rest of her appearance. She was dressed in a white plain hospital gown and she still had small dark circles under her eyes from exhaustion. She looked at herself and could tell that she had aged. She didn't look old, yet, the things she thought about Ino appearance, she was now thinking about herself. Just as she was about to speak up Ino came over and put a knowing hand on her shoulder.

"Do you want to sit down before I tell you what I know?" Ino asked in the most gentle way she could.

"I'll sit," sakura replied softly as she went and sat back on the bed.

Ino Took a deep breath closing her eyes to focus on what she was about to say. When she was ready she finally opened her eyes and gave Sakura a reassuring look. "After going through your records and looking at your memories we have come to the conclusion you are a time traveler from the past,"

Sakura's eyes got really big, her breathing started to get raspy. It took everything in her to get herself to calm down. Sakura didn't know why her emotions were affecting her so much. She was a train medic, and one of the strongest ninja in the village. In her later years she was never one to let her emotions get to her.

"If I'm here, where is Sasuke-kun?" Was all Sakura could get out as she was looking down at her feet now.

That's what we're not sure of. It seems that the beam of light you guys were struck by transported you to another time. Wherever Sasuke is I'm sure he's doing fine, he has the rinnegan to protect him. You however do not have that luxury, we've been trying to think of ways to get you back home. Ino tailed off while trying to read Sakura's expression.

"Then why do I have this body? This is not my body, where I come from I'm 20 years old," Sakura sighed, she was trying to make sense of all of this but it was not going well.

"It seems instead of you in your younger body being transported to this time; only your consciousness was transported here and put into your older body. As for your 20-year-old body it could still be in that place you were fighting. Or it could be in a different place at this point. We are not even sure where our Sakura from this time is. Yet, we're pretty confident we can figure it out.

Sakura quickly cut Ino off as she asked her next question. "How far into the future am I?" The pink haired medic was hoping that it was only a couple of years into the future.

Ino took in a deep breath before answering. "You are almost 14 years into the future,"

Sakura felt like she was going to be sick. "That means I'm about 33 in this time?" Sakura asked in a quiet tone as if she was almost afraid of the answer.

"Correct, however, before I answer any more questions I think we should get out of this room and change the scenery. Ino Said, trying to keep her voice as cheerful as possible. The last thing she wanted to do was upset Sakura more, she knew this was a lot for her.

XXXXXXXXX

Sakura had gotten dressed into a plain green shirt with beige colored pants. As Ino and herself made their way out of the containment ward Sakura couldn't help but feel silly. Yes, she did have on regular clothes, however, she was still sporting hospital shoes. She was almost positive this made her look absolutely ridiculous. Even so, she ignored this fact as she was just to be happy to be out of the ward.

"So what made you decide to move me? It seems smarter if you all kept me in the containment ward," Sakura curiously asked as they boarded an empty elevator.

"Well, it was actually up to me Ino," said giving Sakura a wink. The blond ninja then scanned her ID card on a black pad that was attached to the elevator wall. After scanning her card she pressed a button and they began to rise to the fifth floor of the hospital.

"What," Was all Sakura could get out as her eye's got bigger.

I was instructed to gauge your reaction, if you were able to keep yourself calm then you could move out of the ward. Nonetheless, this means you have to keep yourself under control. As a fellow leaf Shinobi we are trusting you, so keep yourself calm. If you can do that for a week then we will release you out into the village. After that, I have been instructed to keep a special eye on you," Ino finished talking with a smirk on her face. Sakura wenced as she realized Ino was probably enjoying this more than she should have.

They reached their floor and exited the elevator. However, both ninja heard a ruckus down the hallway. Sakura and Ino both looked down the hall to see what all the commotion was about. What she saw froze her straight in her tracks. Sakura raised a curious eyebrow.

They're looked to be about four chunin blocking a pink haired girl of maybe 12 or 13 from getting past them.

"Hanami-chan we already told you you can't see her!" One of the ninja yelled out as he had his hand directly in the young girls face comedically pushing her back.

"She's my mom ya know!" The girl yelled back as she tried to scrape her way by the ninja blocking the hall.

"Oh no," was all Ino could get out before she looked to Sakura. All the blood had drained from her face and she looked deadly pale.

"We have special orders from Hokage-sama to keep you off this floor and out of the hospital!" Another one of the young chunin yelled trying to push the pink haired girl back.

"I don't care what he said! I want to see my mother!" The pink haired girl rebutted struggling against her four adversaries.

The girl quickly saw the woman who she was looking for. It was at that moment Sakura's eyes locked with that of the younger girls. Her eyes were a very pretty ocean blue, and it was if they were screaming out for her. Sakura couldn't help but realize those eyes had a lot of fire and determination in them, that look was familiar. The young girl's next choice of words caused Sakura to look like she had seen a ghost.

"Mom!" The girl yelled directly at Sakura, she noticed the girl's eyes were pleading with her.

Ino tried to rectify the situation as quickly as possible however, she realized she failed as she looked over at Sakura. Before Ino could do anything she knew it was too late.

"This is... she is….I-I ca-can't," was all that escaped Sakura's lips before she hit the floor, unconscious.

To be continued…..
