Chapter 2, 100 years later.
Neo Arcadia.
It was a peaceful day in Neo Arcadia, people was going about their daily lives without a care in the world, they all knew that nothing could go wrong as long as their leader and his four guardians was watching over them.
The weather was beautiful but then it always was here, the dome that surrounded the city would use a holographic image to create the illusion of a clear blue sky.
However unknown to the general public there was a disturbance in the city.
A 13 year old girl was quietly sneaking out of Neo Arcadia's labs, the girl had a creamy white completion, her eyes was crystal blue and her long hair was light blonde, this girl's name was Ciel and she had been working at the labs since she was 8 years old, however that was all about to change.
Ciel discarded her lab coat revealing her usual street clothes, she needed to look as inconspicuous as possible, Ciel was wearing a pink hoody and back bottoms, she was also holding a metal case that contained data that she could be executed for taking
Ciel made her way through the streets trying not to look nervous as people passed her without a second thought, things was going according to plan all she needed to do was to get to the old transport station.
Unfortunately luck was not on Ciel's side as every TV screen on every building side suddenly changed from the news to show her face.
"Attention all citizens of Neo Arcadia, this is Dr Ciel, Dr Ciel has betrayed Neo Arcadia and joined the Maverick cause, if you see Dr Ciel contact authorities immediately" said a gentle yet strong voice over the entire city.
Ciel's blood ran cold, she knew that she had to get out of here fast, however her luck went from bad to worse, "Look, that's her, that's the girl from the report" said a panicked woman who was already reaching for her phone.
Ciel ran, she ran as fast as she could, she knew that she only had minutes before the Pantheons arrived, sure enough a small air transport soon arrived and landed in the middle of the street.
Three identical Reploids emerged from the transport, they was the size and shape of a human but they lacked faces, instead they had a single large red eye in the middle of their heads, they had blue bodies that was lightly armoured, these Reploids was Pantheons Neo Arcadia's military.
The Pantheons saw Ciel and their right arms immediately changed into arm cannons, "Dr Ciel surrender now or we will use lethal force" said the lead Pantheon in a very robotic voice, Ciel wasn't about to surrender she knew that it would only lead to her death.
Ciel turned and ran, the Pantheons gave chase and opened fire, lasers flew passed Ciel's head, she was grateful that Pantheons was built with quantity in mind rather then quality, their aim was lacklustre at best.
People fled in fear as stray lasers narrowly missed them and the street quickly turned into chaos.
Ciel could feel her heart rate quicken as the Pantheons drew closer, she turned down a ally in the hopes of losing her pursuers but they stayed right behind her.
Ciel tipped over a bin as she passed it, this succeeded in slowing down the Pantheons buying Ciel precious seconds, Ciel throw herself over a fence and into a nearby park, despite it's appearance every plant in this park was artificial.
Ciel ducked into some nearby bushers and stayed silent, she knew that the Pantheons couldn't be far behind her, soon the three Reploids appeared, Ciel held her breath as they drew closer to her hiding place.
The three machines looked around the area but saw no sign of the girl that they was chasing, "Search the area, Dr Ciel must be terminated" ordered the lead Pantheon, the other two obeyed their orders and left.
The lead Pantheon stayed behind for a moment to seemingly take one last look around the park, then after seeing nothing of interest the Reploid left.
Ciel couldn't believe her luck as she crawled out of the bushers, however she know that she couldn't stay here there was likely more troops on their way right now, and if she was really unlucky then one of the guardians may show up as well.
Ciel headed in the direction of the transport station, she kept her hood up though she knew that it would do little to hide who she was.
Ciel couldn't help but sweat every time that somebody looked in her direction, she was sure that some people recognised who she was from the report, the only thing that she could do was reach her destitution before it was too late.
Finally after a very stressful journey Ciel reached her destitution, this station had been abandoned years age because of safety concerns, the rails was old and rusted, there was litter and scrap scattered everywhere, and an old broken transport had been left to decay.
Ciel breathed a sigh of relief, she was here, she was safe, but she was wrong, a laser flew passed her head singing a few locks of her hair, Ciel spun around and saw the lead Pantheon, it had found her, or perhaps it had been following her since the park.
Ciel was about to run but the Pantheon was quicker and it reached for her case, the Pantheon tried to pull the case away but Ciel held on tightly refusing to let go, the Pantheon was surprised by this but it simply decided to change it's strategy.
The Pantheon charged it's arm cannon and aimed it at Ciel's head, Ciel's heart stopped and her blood ran cold as she saw the yellow light of the Pantheon's cannon reach full charge.
A shot was fired, but it wasn't from the Pantheon, instead the Pantheon fell to the ground dead with a small hole in it's head.
Ciel looked up and saw a Reploid wearing green military styled armour and holding a buster shot (a small handheld laser pistol) in his right hand, "Milan" said Ciel as she ran up and hugged the Reloid.
"Ciel are you OK" asked Milan as he checked the girl for any injures, "I'm fine, but we need to get out of here" said Ciel, "Right, follow me" said Milan as he led her to an old ground transport that was hidden just out of sight.
The transport had clearly seen better days and Ciel wondered if it would even start, thankfully despite it's appearance the vechicle was still running just fine, Ciel felt her body relax into a chair as they drove away to safety.
Milan set the transport to autopilot and stepped back to check on Ciel who was still gripping her case like her life depended on it, "I can't thank you enough for this, you took a great risk to bring this, the Resistance is grateful for everything that you've done" said Milan as he sat next to Ciel.
The Resistance was a group that had been fighting against Neo Arcadia for some time now, Ciel herself had been leaking information to the Resistance for the passed 2 years in the hopes that it could help them.
The data that Ciel had stolen contained details on many of Neo Arcadia's factories, power plants and military, she knew that she would be discovered for taking this and that she could now never return to the city.
"Don't worry about it, the Resistance needs this data if their going to survive another year" said Ciel as she handed Milan the case, "I know, but you sacrificed so much to bring it to us, you revealed yourself as a spy and gave up your life in Neo Arcadia" said Milan.
"It wasn't much of a life anyway, I barely got to see anything outside of the lab" said Ciel sadly, Milan didn't know what to say so instead he returned to the driver's seat and drove to the Resistance's hidden base.
