A/N thanks for your reviews and support.

Yumi Edogawa: thanks for your review my friend. Their eventual goal is to be heroes but given the stigmatism against nonphysical quirks they are being realistic.

Izuku's POV

His group all sat together towards the back of the room. Most of the students with powerful "hero worthy" quirks sat towards the front. This was done intentionally by their teachers to show case the more worthy students.

Next to him Shinsou had his computer out and Kavar was ignoring the world around them encased in his drawing. For his part Izuku was encased within his quirk hitching off the signal of Shinsou's laptop. For the most part he was just looking for trouble makers on the street.

Just because it was broad daylight didnt mean there wouldnt be trouble. Some of the more idiotic villains would cause trouble during the day. Heroes, villains, and vigilantes were all cut from the same cloth. The only difference between them was that one group was licensed.

It was why his band of misfits kept to the shadows. They didnt want to be in the spotlight. All they wanted was to help people. Legalities would not stop them.

Shinsou nudged him suddenly bringing him out of the city network. In the front of the classroom stood a very tired looking man in a detective's uniform. Over the uniform was a trademark trenchcoat. Well well well what was their favorite detective doing here?

In turn Izuku nudged Kavar who glanced up. His blue eyes widened at the sight of the detective. Then they turned questioning to him.

Izuku whispered so that only those around him could hear, "I'm not sure why he's here. But its probably just for Hero Week. To be on the safe side however stay close and dont get any of our usual stuff out."

"Right, " returned the other two.

They would keep an eye on the detective. If he was here for them then they had to be ready. Vigilantes were not well liked within law enforcement. Underground heroes would occasionally work with them.

If Tsukauchi considered the school a place of interest he likely didnt have proof. As long as they kept their heads down while he was here it would stay that way. Without any proof suspicions wouldnt be worth much. After all the detective's gut instinct was not the same as a hero's.

Izuku slipped back into his quirk and used the cameras around the school. Officially their school didnt have very many. Only a few in the office, and a handful of classrooms, then one on the roof.

The classroom they were using was one such room. It was annoying that one such room was not the security room. Having eyes in there would have been useful.

For the most part Izuku ignored the ramblings of his teacher. The old man only cared about those with strong physical quirks. He had a particular hatred of Izuku for the teenager's particular quirk. He encouraged the other students to put spider lilies on his desk. At least twice a week he would find new plants in or around his desk.

His attention however was drawn when Tsukauchi greeted, "Thank you for having me. I am Tsukauchi Naomasa detective of the Musutafu Police Department."

There were a handful of returns of the greeting. The man bowed slightly and his eyes glancing over each student. When the dark eyes fell upon Izuku they were about to pass over him. Until they fell upon his neck where they widened.

Izuku turned his head to the side in curiosity. The movement caused the man's eyes to widen even further. Alright detective what's your issue?

Kavar said quietly, "Izuku he's staring at your soulparent mark."

No shit, Kavar. The question was why. They didnt know each other, officially and Clover wasnt widely accepted by the police. Tsukauchi took his information with a reminder that he should get his hero license. Not that Izuku or his band were old enough to become heroes.

Then the eyes moved onto the others and there wasnt any recognition. Then Tsukauchi's attention was drawn to their teacher. His head turned so that one side of his neck was facing the children.

Izuku had to bite his lip to keep from gasping. Across the right side of Tsukauchi's neck was a green river otter. Instincts screamed at him saying that was his soulmark. That the man before him was one of his soulparents.

Shinsou questioned trying go bring him back to the present, "Hey, what's wrong? Izuku you're scaring us. What's working you up so much?"

Izuku said under his breath, "He's one of my soulparents."

"Seriously?!" Came a too loud whisper from both of his friends. This caused their fellow students to turn and glare at them.

When they quietened the teacher continued his lecture. They were giving out an assignment on analysis. Who they did an analysis of was up to to them. The three of them already knew who they would write about.

Shinsou was going go write on Eraserhead and Kavar on Power Loader. Izuku for his part was going to choose the Pro Hero Nighteye's quirk. Most people only know that the man served as the only sidekick for All Might. As Clover he had worked with the man on several occasions however.

Clover acted both as an analyst for the heroes and a vigilante for the streets. He would have to tone down his analysis for this assignment. Otherwise someone might recognize him for his work. Then he would really be in trouble.

Izuku focused on the analysis as they were given the all clear to start. It took all of his self control to dumb down his analysis to the point it was only slightly above what a normal middle school student could pull off.

They were only given an hour to complete the analysis. Despite dumbing it down Izuku still had five sheets of paper front and back of analysis. Shinsou and Kavar each had three for their chosen heroes. While not as skilled as himself, by their own admission, they still trained with him in it. Given their choice of careers they needed to be able to do quick analysis.

Their bastard of a teacher sneered at them as he collected their pages. He had to be stopped from dropping their analysis into the trashcan. Tsukauchi to their surprise insisted that every analysis be given to him.

Once they were in his hands Tsukauchi began, "Thank you for participating in the analysis. I know most of you are disappointed it's not a hero standing before you right now. However the police are just as important as heroes. We play a vital role in keeping the peace. There are many times an officer has to play meditator between heroes."

One of his classmates from the midrow drawled lazily, "Why did you have us do analysis? That shit is for the weak."

Tsukauchi's eyes flashed in annoyance as he replied, "For the weak huh. Well I know that professional analysts can be paid thousands of dollars by the agencies they work with. Police and heroes contract out freelance analysts when working on major projects. The ability to see a quirk and break it down is a skill that all heroes need to have. In fact at UA it is a skill taught from first year."

The shock was palpable. No one in the class had expected that answer. Given that Tsukauchi worked with Izuku as Clover it wasnt surprising that he valued the skill. Analysis work had only become part of the UA curriculum in recent years.

Most people didnt know about the change. Izuku knew that Support and Business courses got the bulk of the training. Heroics and General Studies only got the basics of it. Which in his opinion was stupid but who was he to argue with the board.

Izuku half tuned out the lecture on analysis. Almost all of what the detective was going over was something he already knew. His mind could not stop trailing to the green otter on the man's neck. How was he supposed to go about this?

Tsukauchi's POV

Eyeing the young teenager in the back he continued with his lecture. It was obvious that like most of the other kids Midoriya was tuning him out. But Naomasa wasn't getting the feeling it was out of disrespect. If the amount of papers in his hands was any indication Midoriya had a good grasp on analysis.

Midoriya was the reason that they had come to this run down middle school. They suspected Clover had a technology manipulation quirk. It was that which made them search the quirk registry. Everyone they had come across that were in their late teens or early twenties were deadends.

Naomasa under the advice of Sir Nighteye started looking at the younger generation. Specifically those in their early to mid teens. That was when they came across Izuku Midoriya.

His file was just a standard one. Name, birthday, school attendance, and quirk. Quirk was what had caught their attention. System was the exact kind of quirk they were looking for. The question of how far it extended and the drawbacks were not in the file. They was questions that had to be asked to the user.

Naomasa had enlisted the help of Nezu to try and gain more information. He highly doubted that Midoriya was their vigilante. Most likely the actual vigilante was someone closely related. A first cousin or a parent since he was an only child.

The classroom was obviously biased to those with physical and combative quirks. Naomasa did not hold any regret in bringing Nezu with him. The rat would see what was happening and burn the school down to the ground.

Naomasa had a lot of expectations for the week. Finding his soul child was not one of those expectations. Especially not in the child they thought was connected to a vigilante. When he had seen the black leopard with onyx eyes stretched out across the right side of Midoriya's neck his heart had stopped. It was too reminiscent of the green river otter that stretched out over his own neck.

Naomasa had almost missed the widening of the boy's eyes. A surprised cry had rang throughout the room. He could feel the intensity of the teacher's glare. If it wasnt in the middle of a school he might have gone to talk to the boy.

However doing so at the moment would only draw unwanted attention to the young boy. Naomasa would wait until after classes. Then he would approach the child.

Children rarely had soul parents that werent their biological parents. Naomasa had to know if Midoriya was safe in his home. Many parents would take out the fact they werent the soul parent on the child themselves. He could only hope that it wasnt true in this case.
