Izuku's POV

Using his quirk Izuku scrambled to check the city's cameras. Rumors had been sent to the Cafe and in turn given over to him. According to the informant Stain the Hero Killer was in Musutafu. The vigilante turned villain had yet to kill in the city so it was unlikely the heroes knew he was there.

Izuku had pulled back Sword and Shield from their usual patrols. There was too much of risk that the Stain would attack them. He didn't just kill heroes but vigilantes too. Being children wouldn't stop Stain he was sure.

It annoyed the other two not to be able to help Izuku in his search. They wanted to hit the streets and ensure no one got killed by Stain. Out of the four vigilantes Shinsou was probably the best suited for the fight. It was too risky for them given how little they knew about Stain's fighting style and quirk.

Until Izuku was sure that Stain was out of the city he would keep the others back. Everything would need to be done from the computers.

A ping from his chat with the detective and Eraser drew his attention. Izuku pulled it up off to one side as he continued to search the cameras.

How to Annoy your favorite coffee addicts

Detectcoffee: Sleepyhobo have you seen Sword or Shield out tonight? It's unusual for the chat to be so quiet.

Sleepyhobo: There's been no sign of them. Even the criminals I've arrested haven't seen them.

Detectcoffee: Clover where is everyone tonight? You guys safe?

Izuku hesitated. It was odd that they were worried about him. Was this real worry? Or were the two trying to trick him? Finally he made a decision.

Clover: Sorry we won't be out for a time. Until I'm sure what I suspect is happening is over. As a precaution you should advise heroes to implement the buddy system in Musutafu.

Detectcoffee: Do you know something we don't?

Clover: I do. I'm not sure you would believe me however. Not without proof.

Sleephobo: Have we ever doubted you once you proved to be honest? What is happening that you pulled your friends out?

Again Izuku hesitated. What Eraser said was true. Once they had proven that his words were true they trusted his word. It had been the start of their vigilante activities.

Still he was unsure if they would believe his claim. Without an attack what proof did he have that Stain was in town? He couldn't break the promise between the Cafe and their clients.

Sleepyhobo: You can trust us, Clover. Just as we have trusted you and your friends.

Izuku sighed then took the chance.

Clover: An informant of mine said they spotted the Hero Killer Stain. Sometime earlier today Stain arrived in Musutafu. I'm trying to track him down and confirm that he is in fact in town. So far I've had no luck.

Sleephobo: You're positive this person is trustworthy?

Izuku glanced at the owners of the Cafe.

Clover: Positive. I would trust them with my life.

Detectcoffee: Then that is good enough for me. I'll put the word out tonight.

Detectcoffee is now offline

Clover: I'll let you know if I find anything more.

Clover is now offline

Then to his chat with the others he sent another message.

Greenbean: No luck on this end of the cameras. Anyone else having luck?

Eggplant: No luck here either. You sure I can't hit the streets seeing if any of our informants have info?

Greenbean: Absolutely not. Stain isn't one to give up the chance to kill what he considers false heroes. This includes vigilantes like us.

Foxxy: No luck here either.

Explodyinventor: That's to be expected. It's only his first night in the city. Most likely he will keep an eye out on heroes. Then carefully choose his target.

Greenbean: You're probably right but I had hoped to catch him on cameras stalking his prey. We will have to keep a careful eye out.

An affirmative message from each other was given. With that Izuku focused his full attention on his search. As he did so he was startled by a waitress brought him a coffee. When he said he didn't have money to pay for it she waived it off. There was a knowing look in her eyes.

Most of the Cafe had an idea of what he was doing here at night. They were under no misconceptions. He was after all trying to make their lives easier. They wanted him working at his full potential.

Gratefully he took the drink and began to down it as he continued his search. It wasn't until five that morning without any evidence that he returned home. Frustration built up in his chest but he forced himself to get a little sleep. Continuing to push his body wouldn't help anyone.

When his alarm went off he blearily woke up. All he wanted was to go back to bed but with it being Hero Week that wasn't viable. So he changed into a fresh uniform and grabbed his bag. Checking his kitchen and he found it unsurprisingly empty. Getting food would be a priority in the next few days. Izuku wrote a note reminding his mother to get food and left it with her keys before leaving.

Once outside he made his way towards the school. Despite it being rush hour for the day there were only a few people on the streets. Those who were out gave him a sneer. His "weak" quirk was well known throughout the community. They only cared about those who could potentially bring fame into the area.

Kavar caught up to him within a few moments. They didn't exchange words both too exhausted from lack of sleep. Making it to Aldera Middle School's gate they found Shinsou waiting for him. He had three coffee cups waiting for them.

Both Izuku and Kavar took their usual cups. Kavar usually bought coffee as he was the best off out of the three vigilantes. However he didn't always remember and in those times Hitoshi would pick it up. Only Izuku couldn't do a coffee run as he had no money of his own.

The bell rang suddenly. The three swiftly finished their coffees before making their way to the classroom. Izuku collapsed into his chair at his desk. His head thumped against the desk with a groan. All he wanted was to sleep. Kavar gave him a pat on the shoulder.

Kavar had signed off at two am. He wanted to get some rest to be prepared for the second day of Hero Week. Shinsou rarely slept more than an hour or two. He was used to the constant feeling of exhaustion. Izuku usually finished his work between three and five am. Five am was always pushing his limits to the very edge. These were the days he needed coffee more than any other.

Izuku ignored the door opening allowing the teacher and the hero or police officer. He ignored them and kept his head on the desk. Maybe it would be another boring day so he could sleep. That was not meant to be however.

Their teacher began from the front of the room, "All right attention everyone. Today we have a special guest for Hero Week. An actual Pro Hero has joined us. So give him your full attention. This is the Erasure Hero: Eraserhead."

Oh, oh no. Of all the heroes that could be at his school it had to be this one. The Fates hated him didn't they. That was why they did this to him.

A tired voice grunted, "Thank you. As your teacher said I am a Pro Hero. With me is Nezu Principal of UA High School. If you don't know this already heroes can choose to take Middle School students as their personal students. This only happens if you prove to have enough potential however. It should be noted neither of us have ever taken a personal student."

That was because Eraser could barely stand his class. One on one training was not within his teaching capacity most likely. Izuku was about to try and sleep when the words sank in. Wait did he say Nezu? Sure enough when Izuku looked up there was a rat (?) was standing next to the underground hero. Oh fuck was his only thought.
