Chapter: 201
End of the Matrix
AN: This will be set during the events of The Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions
Six months later
Captain Niobe of the Logos calls an emergency meeting of all Zion's Hovercraft Ship Fleet. She has successfully recovered the information left by Captain Thadeus during his finest hour: 250,000 Sentinels are tunneling towards the underground city of Zion and will reach it in 72 hours.
Commander Lock, the ranking military officer of Zion, orders all ships and their crews, including Neo, Trinity, Morpheus, and new operator Link, to return to Zion to prepare for the onslaught of the machines.
"Can someone tell me where is Gordon Freeman," said Lock "We will need his help."
"He said he would be back," said Morpheus
"That was months ago," said Ghost "You think he will be back,"
"He's a warrior he will be back," said Neo "Right now we got things to do."
Afterwards
returning to Zion, the crew of the Nebuchadnezzar attends a meeting in Zion's temple where Morpheus announces the news of the advancing machines to the people, but his positive attitude and stirring speech gives them courage.
A portal opened up behind Morpheus and Gordon Freeman stepped into an odd scene. Various people are gathered around for some reason and turned to Morpheus.
"I take it there is bad news," said Gordon.
"The machines are coming, we have 72 hours," said Morpheus as he explains further.
"Now that's a problem," said Gordon "Perhaps I have a solution,"
"And what would that be," asked Morpheus?
Neo receives a message from the Oracle the next morning and he soon meets her and her bodyguard Seraph. Seeing that the Oracle is a part of the system Neo asks how can he trust her if she is just another form of control. She responds by saying that only he can make the choice if she is ally or enemy.
The Oracle explains that she is an exiled computer program and instructs Neo to reach the Source, by finding the Keymaker, a prisoner in the home of the Frenchman program the Merovingian.
The Keymaker, as his name implies, can make keys that can transport anyone to anywhere in the world provided there is a door at the other end. As Neo departs, Agent Smith appears.
So does the G-man which Smith is annoyed by the sudden appearance of the creature.
"Now, now Mister Sssmith," said G man "You know the rules, no killing the Oracle unless we say so."
"Damn you creature," snarled Smith "Just go away,"
"You have better things to do, like chasing after the chosen one," smiled G man.
"Yes, I was about to do that." Said Smith "I will spare the bitch."
Agent Smith leaves and of course the G man leaves as well.
Agent Smith catches up with Neo and after the brief exchange of words He demonstrates his ability to clone himself using the people of the Matrix as hosts (even assimilating the body of another Agent),
prompting a battle between Neo and many clones of Smith. Neo holds his own using his knowledge of martial arts and a large pipe but is eventually overwhelmed, covered by a massive pile of Agents.
"Hey smith," said Gordon.
All of the agents stopped and stared at the other one. So after all these months he had come back.
"I've been wanting a crack at you and now I have my chance " said Smith.
"Not today," said Gordon.
"How do you plan to take on all of us," smiled Smith.
"Like this," said Gordon with a snap of his fingers.
Suddenly a purple dinosaur showed up and does the same thing as Smith did. The dinosaur kept on chanting We love you. The agents of smith take on the dinosaurs known as Barney.
"Have fun," chuckled Gordon.
This is when Neo and Gordon took off in a hurry.
Later
After a series of events in the Matrix and the real word. Gordon checked the time as it's 36 hours left before the machines invade and Gordon had suggested his idea, but the others decided as a last resort just in case things go wrong.
In the Nebuchadnezzar, Neo explains his findings to the crew, revealing the prophecy of the One is fake and that Zion will be destroyed in twenty-four hours.
Sentinels approach and destroy the ship, leaving Morpheus stunned by the revelations. Neo saves his friends from being destroyed by the Sentinels by using a new ability which causes the machines to instantly shut down, but the exertion causes Neo to suddenly fall unconscious.
The crew is picked up by the Hammer. The crew of the Hammer explains the catastrophic failure of the battle against the machines that took place in the real world.
"Looks like he is in a coma," said Gordon.
"Can you help Neo," said Trinity.
"I'm not a medical doctor," said Gordon "It's all up to him."
"Gordon we might consider your plan," said Morpheus. "But let's play this out, there is still hope."
Several Minutes later
While the others watch Neo lying in bed, along with Gordon. Whom has a plan to end this machine/human war. His plan is considered by Morpheus, but it was decided to have this play out.
Troubled by new visions of the Machine City, Neo decides to visit the Oracle before returning to the real world. She informs him that, as the One, upon visiting the source, he developed a connection with the Source (the Machine mainframe). The Matrix, and the rest of the Machine world, are derived from the Source as well. Thus we learn that all of Neo's abilities - both in and out of the Matrix - exist because of this connection.
This is how Neo was able to stop the machines giving pursuit after the Nebuchadnezzar was destroyed a few hours prior, although the end result of his lack of preparation was temporary confinement in Mobil Avenue. She characterizes Smith (who is also growing in power) as his exact "opposite", his "negative" and elaborates on the relationship between herself and the Architect (Tellingly, each of them ejects an exasperated "Please!" when Neo asks them about the other). She also tells Neo cryptically that "everything that has a beginning has an end" and warns that Smith's power threatens not only the Matrix but also the Source and eventually the Machine City. The Oracle states that the war is about to end "one way or another.
After Neo takes leave of the Oracle, an army of Smiths arrive at her home. After assimilating both Seraph and Sati, they successfully assimilate the unresisting Oracle. Having gained her powers of precognition, the new Smith cackles maniacally at whatever future he is seeing
Then Neo wakes up from his coma and informed them what is about to transpire as all of them had worried looks upon their faces.
"Typical" muttered Gordon.
"I think it would be best to destroy the machines, at least humanity would survive." Said Trinity.
"Agreed, mankind needs to be masters of our own fates." Said Neo.
"Gordon, we are going to go with your plan." Said Morpheus. "What were you going to do."
"Keep them busy." Said Gordon "Neo and I will head to this source, but first I need to get something. Be back soon and I will meet you there Neo."
Gordon opened a portal to another dimension and vanished into thin air. Wondering what will the One Free man will bring back. Although they know time is growing short for humanity to survive.
One day later
Neo and Trinity are heading to the source, while Morpheus along with what remains of humanity is fighting the machines in a losing effort, but they continue to fight on.
Neo and Trinity sighed in wondering where is Gordon, only then a portal opened up behind them and Gordon appeared with a strange object in hand which looked orb like.
"I know I'm late," said Gordon "Took a little longer to build."
"What does it do," asked Neo?
"It's a mini Crucible bomb," said Gordon "A larger version was used to destroy another machine like species called Reapers...far worse than you can imagine."
"What will happen to the machines including the matrix," asked Trinity?
"A complete wipe out." Said Gordon "Gone forever, an end."
"We're here," said Trinity.
"I will keep them busty inside the matrix." Said Neo.
All of them nodded and went about what they are doing. Gordon headed to the power source of the source itself. Everything else is falling into place and finally Gordon activated the Crucible bomb to go off in mere moments.
Zion
Morpheus and the forces of Zion are in a tough battle and had to fall back to the temple, but still fought on. Then something happened as if some form of wave came over them. Then the fighting had stopped.
Morpheus and the humans of Zion watch in shock to see the machines have evaporated into nothing and this wasn't happening here, but all over what is left of Earth. Humans whom had been connected to the Matrix had suddenly woke up to a barren Earth. The question is what are they going to do
Neo and Trinity embraced one another, which they kissed and smiled. They are finally free and Gordon had showed up which they headed back to Zion as Morpheus is waiting for them.
"What will humanity do now," said Gordon.
"Rebuild, as we won't make the same mistakes of the past." Said Morpheus "Thank you Gordon."
"No problem, I wish you luck." Said Gordon.
Gordon Freeman waved goodbye to them as he headed into a portal and to another dimension.
