It was wet rainy Day. And As the leaves were blowing ever so gently with the wind there was a strange feeling that was in the air and two unlikely fates would soon cross the passage of time forever.

(Alternate version of the storyline after the defeat of Muzan Kibutsuji, where majority of the demon slayer's survived and are now adjusting to a world without demons)

This is my first Fanfiction so please go easy on me I was making this up as I go along off the strength of muscle memory

Mystery person: Sheesh can't you even look like a normal person walking home without being the odd ball. (Hitting him on his head)
Giyu:(Caught of guard expression)...O great ?! This day just keeps getting better and better...
Shinobu: (Arms Crossed) Excuse Me!? What's that suppose to mean? (Making a pouty face)
Giyu's Thoughts:
This was something he didn't expect to happen, especially, so soon. After leaving the cemetery and having a conversation with Tengen on matters he knew little about, here SHE was right before him. In all her beauty, elegance, and grace, Shinobu KochÅ, the women who secretly stole his heart and was his first love, the one person who he cared about aside from ANYTHING else. Giyu couldn't help but blush slightly at his embarrassment being caught off guard by her. She wasn't wearing her Hashira Haori from her deceased sister, but this time she was wearing a Tan long sleeve T-shirt, with some jean shorts on with black leggings underneath that. Only thing that remained the same was her signature Butterly Hairpin that clipped her hair. She was so intoxicating to Giyu that it took everything in him not to lose his focus, nor his cool. And her eyes, which had a shade of purple in them was to die for. Even if she was upset or anything, just gazing upon her beauty, would secretly make his day a whole lot better. This women was absolutely gorgeous to him, and there was no doubt within him, that he would give his own life to protect her. This was totally unlike him but he just wanted to grab her and hug her In his arms and give those beautiful small soft lips of her's a kiss. He needed to play it cool before she caught wind to him.
Giyu: (Shaking his head, snapping back to reality) Huh?! Oh, it's nothing...just got lost in thought there for a second...I didn't mean anything offensive by it. What are you doing here...Shinobu?
Shinobu:Oh, well you'd better not have. I was out meeting with Mitsuri, for some girl time. Staying cooped up in that big mansion all day, will drive me crazy. (Not wanting to tell him the reason WHY she was meeting her.) Just needed some air and a change of scenery is all. And what about you ? It looks like from the way you were coming from, you must've came from the cemetery, right ?
Giyu: Yeah, I needed to pay my respects to everyone and check in. Turns out I wasn't the only one there, I ran into Tengen. And he was doing the same thing, so we just decided to catch up and spend some time there.
Shinobu: Aww, well isn't that lovely. A little male bonding, looks like you can have friends after all, hahaha. (Cracking a joke/jab at him.)
Giyu:(Irritated face, with a moment of silence before responding)...People...Do like me.
Shinobu:(He's still doesn't even know when he's being insulted) (Sigh) Well that's good to hear. A gloomy person like you shouldn't go through this world living alone by himself. It just doesn't seem right. Hey I got an idea, well actually a favor to ask?!(Thinking of her plan, to get closer to him)
Giyu: Hmm ?! What's up ?
Shinobu: Since we ran into each other, and it's been a couple weeks since we hanged out and talked plus since it getting late...(Taking a slight pause to build up some courage herself ) Would you..mind walking me home ?! We can ... go together if you'd like ? (Blushing at her bold statement)
Giyu: (He had to think about this, for a second, just to make sure she wasn't playing any mind games with him. Knowing Shinobu it was definitely possible, but he considered his talk with Tengen and decided to accompany her.) Sure, I suppose that's fine.
Shinobu: Yay!! Thank you Tomioka-san.(Smiling at him, with her hands clapped together and turning her head slightly to the side.) Well, let's be on our way then.
Giyu:Alright then, lead the way. And I'll follow.
(Giyu and Shinobu were on their way to her Mansion Estate, and the vibe was just what you expect from these too, both really didn't say much as far as a conversation goes, but unknown between the two, just being near one another was enough for them. They had a little ways to get there since Shinobu insisted on taking the longer route, mainly just to get as much time as she could with him, it had already been night out, with a clear full moon in the sky and this was her first "indirect" way of making her move on him, so she definitely was gonna take advantage of this opportunity, and decided to break the ice first, since there wasn't a good chance Giyu would do it first.)
Shinobu: Hey..Tomioka-san? There's something I been meaning to ask you ?!
Giyu: Hmm.. What's up ?
Shinobu: I noticed that you still carry your sword around. And even after everything that's happened, I wanted to ask you, why is that ? With Muzan being destroyed, all the demons should be gone too right ? So why do you still walk around, with your Nichirin Sword?! Be honest too.
Giyu: (He took a slight pause to think about his response. And gave his honest answer.) Well to be truthful, there's a couple reasons why I still do. For starters, even WITH Muzan being gone that doesn't mean that ALL the demons are expelled from this world. It just means that since the main threat is gone, new demons can't get created without the lifeline being alive. Think about that demon-boy who helped you with the poison that accompanies Ms. Tamayo, what's his name...Yushiro?! Take him for example, Muzan is dead, but he's still a demon through and through. I heard he made a contract with the slayer Corps that he'll never devour humans in honor of Tamayo if he can live out his life in peace. Not to mention Tanjiro and his friends vouched for him as well, so because of that, he's safe under our treaty. Also, I keep in touch with Sanemi Shinazugawa in our letters and he tells me, there are still demons every now and then causing trouble so he leads a small team of hunters and exterminates them. Tengen told me something similar as well when he goes out on his travels with his wives. So even if the main threat is destroyed, it's still my duty as a slayer to make sure that until we're demon free, wherever I'm needed, I'll protect the innocent with everything I have. I owe it too all our late comrades to see this duty fulfilled. So for me, my jobs not quiet done yet. There's still ...(looking at his hand, staring at it intensely, thinking bout his best friends) something let for me to do. And I'll see it through...until the end.
Shinobu's Thoughts:
She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She was completely taken back from his response. She wasn't aware of that information that there were still some demons walking around in the dead of night, still killing people and ruining lives. A part of her was ashamed at this because, she was quick to put down her sword and try to live in the new world when there were still remnants of evil running loose and it hurts even more to know that her Comrades were EVEN STILL risking their lives and fighting to make their world a better place. She felt a little disappointed with herself not being able to fight alongside them. She was sick with herself because she felt she took the easy way out and wanted to live the good life. For the first time in awhile, she had a sad look upon her face, and tried to hide it with a nonchalant look so Giyu wouldn't pick up on how she was feeling. She remained quiet soaking up what was just revealed to her.
Giyu:(Knowing more or less what she was thinking, said to her ) I already know what your probably thinking and it's no use getting upset over it, because I'm the one who told the others not to tell you about it.
Shinobu: Huh?! (Upset, stopping in front of him) Why would you not want to tell me?! I have the right to make that decision for myself. No one asked you to speak on my behalf. I could've been out there with you guys helping.
Giyu: Your absolutely right, I shouldn't have made that choice for you. Knowing you, I bet you would've stayed with us to help fight and no doubt help save more lives with your contribution. But this isn't about personal feelings right now, you remember how bloody that fight with Muzan was. It left many people emotionally scarred, and will change the way they live out their lives with the sacrifices and lives loss they have to live with. I didn't want that for you Shinobu. Your a good person, who's had to hide her feelings behind a smile for so long. It would've been selfish to ask you to come back with us on the front lines again like that. I remember how you told me you use to have visions where you see your sister walking around the estate at night. And how it use to have you emotional. And getting back in the field would surely have brought up that again. I didn't keep you away because I thought you was weak or anything. I only Kept you away...to protect you. You...mean a lot to me Shinobu. We're all that's left and I'd do anything to keep you safe. (With a determined expression)
Shinobu Thoughts:
She AGAIN was completely taken back by how much Giyu had..matured. This certainly wasn't the same quiet man who stayed to himself during their days as Hashira's, this was somebody..new, somebody who was seeking something further ahead. It honestly was a little scary(but in a good way though) how much he was still Giyu but...not Giyu. He still had all the redeeming qualities that she liked about him, but more. And she couldn't lie, they way he looked so determined and sure of his goals this time around, secretly turned her on. It was making her turn more red at the thought of Giyu actually getting her excited in the lower region because of this new man he was becoming, with this new attitude and confidence he displayed. She instantly forgave him for his choice in keeping her out of the battle as she understood his reasoning why. He cared about her, and if that's the case, then maybe what Mitsuri said was right, that he really did have feelings for her. She was stuck in a daze getting herself together when she came back to reality and wanted to tell Giyu something.
Shinobu: Tomioka-San...I(she was then suddenly caught by Giyu and placed in his arms, as he charged her, when she felt a Giant Crash hit the ground in the exact spot they were just standingin.)
Giyu: (He flew a few meters in the air, positioning himself and they hit the ground safe and sound, he looked at the smoke covering whatever was trying to collide with them, then he turned his head to to make sure Shinobu was okay as he checked her for any injuries) Sorry about that..I know I startled you, but it was for your safety. Are you alright ?!
Shinobu: (Coughing) Yes.. I'm fine, but what the hell was that? (She saw Giyu begin to sit her down gently and walked in front of her. Slowly, pulling out his sword, walking towards the settling dust, that's when it hit her.) No way.. it can't be.. (Covering her mouth in total disbelief)
Giyu: Don't worry, one bit. I'll handle this (Walking confidently as ever in front of his advisory) You made a grave mistake, showing yourself here..now that's a mistake that's gonna cost you your life. Prepare yourself... (Pointing his sword forward) DEMON !
(There It was Standing tall, with it's awful stench of death and malicious intent it was giving off. As the dust was finally gone they had a clear view of the demon that stood before them both. It was a tall demon with a muscular frame, and the mouth & feet like that of a wolf, it also had bloody red eyes, and a single horn on the right side of his head that pointed upwards. It also displayed sharp claws, that was covered in blood, still dripping from its hands. The demon could easily be tall as 6'4, and it growls ominously as it stared down both the Ex-Hashira's looking like it was ready to pounce at a moments notice.)
Giyu: (He observed the demon and could tell that it was a runaway survivor, judging from how it appeared it didn't seem like the motive was thought out from when it attacked them. And looking at it's hands it must've attacked some passersby since he could see the blood was fresh, but he kept his cool and steered himself ready to do battle.) I don't know how you survived or where you came from, and I don't really care. Know this demon, you won't survive this fight and your time of killing people who are trying to rid themself of monsters like you, comes to an end today.(Taking his battle stance) Shinobu, no matter what happens stay behind me.
Shinobu: Okay, Tomioka-san. Just please, be careful.(Getting behind him while also moving a few meters away from him, so she doesn't get caught up in the clash.)
(In a instant the demon let out a large howl, as it ran at Giyu full charge, while Giyu did the same. They clashed at each other with overwhelming strength as the demon threw its claws at him while Giyu was counting his strikes with his sword while on the defensive. The demon then jumped into the air, and came crashing down with one arm extended ready to smash Giyu, but with his quick reflexes he jumped out of the way while the impact collided with the ground that at least created a small crater at least 5 inches deep. Giyu recovered his footing and again with great speed charged the demon gearing up to attack him. He ran to him and took a spin to strengthen his momentum of his strike in sync with the rotation but the demon flipped back as the attack missed by a couple of inches but Giyu did mange to cut a piece of the demons horn off. Taking a moment to adjust himself Giyu readied himself once more.
Giyu:(This demon isn't your typical run of the mill survivors, I can't let this fight drag out too long. Or it'll be no good, for me. I need to hurry up and finish this.)
(The demon was getting more frustrated as it let out another yell of anger. And howl, then it's legs started to get more bigger in size, without warning the demon was suddenly out of sight as it was jumping around the trees at an incredible speed. Shinobu was surprised that this demon was decently good to last this long against Giyu, truth be told, her skills were a little rusty and she hadn't practiced her swordsmanship in a while, she was barely keeping up with the speed of those two. Even though she hasn't been in the front lines in a while she could still tell this demon wasn't all that strong, if it wasn't for it's agility and speed, in terms of skills and power this would already be over, if she had to describe its strength according to the rank of the slayers it was maybe Tsuchinoto, a C rank at best. She wasn't to worried about Giyu because she knew that he would be fine, but didn't want the fight to drag out because she knew that the longer this fight would last Giyu Demon slayer mark would appear and start slowly draining away at his life force bit by bit. And because of that, most of the Ex'Hashira's would try to finish their fights as soon as they can. So a prolonged fight was unfavorable to say the least. Giyu was trapped in the middle of the demon and because of his great speed he couldn't move much because it was cause for a fatal blow to connect. As he was studying the demon the only reason why it didn't attack was because of the reaction time to do anything would open up a window to strike.)
Giyu: I gotta say demon, I'm impressed. Your not your average low ball demon, but unfortunately I don't have time to waste on you anymore so let's finish this.(He closed his eyes and focused on his breathing as he lowered his sword, a few inches from the ground) Water Breathing: Eleventh Form...Dead Calm !! (Suddenly Giyu's presence became as quiet and still at the ocean on a good calm afternoon. He seemed to be standing still, without a care in the world, as he keep his eyes closed. Focusing on his target and his moves, his senses were heightened that he could hear every time the demon flew from the trees and he could feel his exact location, so he wasn't nervous in the slightest at all.)
(The demon was growing impatient as it charged at Giyu with full force and speed, waiting for a opening to strike him down without a moment's hesitation. And as he was inching ever so closely to Giyu from behind. In a swift flashes of strikes, the demon was covered in cut and slashes all over the body with one arm as well as one leg cut clean off from its body. And it crashed into the ground hard, and skidded a few meters in front of him as blood was splattering over the ground and on some nearby leaves and trees. The demon was shocked and screaming in agony as it tried to process what just happened. It looked around and saw his torn limbs removed from its body and blood leaking out of him from everywhere as it watched in total disbelief. And with Muzan Kibutsuji gone, the demons also lost the ability to regenerate limbs from when being cut by Nichirin Swords. So the demons where on a more even playing ground when fighting demon slayers nowadays. As the demons tried to crawl away to get away from Giyu, he turned around and saw Giyu standing over him.)
Giyu: (Staring at the demon with lifeless cold eyes,placing his sword on the side of the demon necks, getting ready to take the last swing, he told the demon..) Without your master around, destroying you monsters, isn't as tactful as it use to be. We fight on a more fair battle ground. And now you guys realize that without Muzan around you aren't as powerful as you were all led to believe. Without him your weak, and the weak have no right. They don't get to make choices..All they can do is be relentlessly crushed by the strong.(And with that he swung his sword across the demons head, detaching it from its body. He started to walk away slowly and placed his sword back in its guard as he looked at the demon who started to disintegrate in the wind.) Know this as you pass on from this life, the one who destroyed you,..my name is Giyu Tomioka, Ex-Water Hashira.
Shinobu's Thoughts:
To say she was impressed was an understatement, she was well aware that Giyu was always strong even when they were in the corps together, but he turned that demon into mincemeat, without having to struggle or break a sweat, and defeated him with such ease, and the way he looked so cool with his nonchalant attitude and calm demeanor walking away, it was no wonder the girl had feelings for him. She just wanted to run up to him and fill his face with kisses and take him right there, but knew she had to be a lady, and keep it classy. And she's no pushover herself but for some reason whenever she's with him she always feels safe, like no matter where they are she knows she's in good hands by his side. All those times going on missions with him were gradually overtime opening her heart to him, and she melted away and somehow he found a way into her heart. And seeing his strength again in battle after all those months just gave her stronger conviction about being in his life even more and taking their relationship to the next level. She absolutely HAD to make sure that no matter what, Giyu had to know how she felt,..one way or another.
Giyu: Well that takes care of that. Are you alright, Shinobu ? Your not hurt or anything are you ?! (He said staring into her eyes with this look of concern and protection in his voice)
Shinobu: No, I'm fine...Thank you, but that demon wasn't even concern about me when he had his sights set on you. I'm the one who should be asking if you are okay. ?
Giyu; Not at all, that demon had a little surprise but it's not nothing we haven't seen before. Honestly any one of us, could've taken him out, even you could do too, honestly.
Shinobu: (Slightly offended) Oh is that right, and what are you implying ? You know I heard what you said to that demon before you decapitated him saying that the weak only gets crushed by the strong..is that what you think I am ?! Tell me Giyu..am I...(letting the harsh truth sink in) weak ?
Giyu: ...You haven't been on the front lines in a while and because of that it's dull you battle instinct. Although, I am sure your not as strong as you once were, but your far from weak. You'd just have to get back to training is all. Don't ever sell yourself short Shinobu. You were a Hashira because you met the criteria and expectations to become one and your very talented, so Ik without a doubt you'd be back in top form if you applied yourself to it. I have full faith in you that you could do it. (Looking at her, with a calm expression that comforted her, and knocked back her any doubts she had.)
Shinobu: Oh You just know what to say to realllllly get a girl going don't you ?! My, my, Tomioka-San when did you become such a smooth talker ?(Laughing, and seeing him turn slightly red, before turning his back to her) but seriously though, in a weird way of you giving me assurance, even with a hint of a sneak diss, and compliment at the same time, thank you. It oddly enough lifted me up so thank you..anyway shall we get moving. It won't be long now until we're at the butterfly mansion.
Giyu: Yeah, let's. And I'd rather have you off the streets, since we don't know if that demon was alone or not. The sooner I get you home, the better.
Shinobu: We'll let's get to it then, hehe.(Wrapping herself around his right arm, with caught him by surprise because Giyu face had gotten redder and he turned his head not to show his embarrassment) Aww your so cute, Tomioka-San..know what..I'll give you reward for saving me to show my appreciation. (Smiling at him) .. but first I need you to look at me...To see if what I'm doing is the right thing.
(Giyu didn't understand what she meant by that exactly but he did as she requested, and looked at her. Neither of them, said a word. They just stared at each other, each with eyes as if we're looking for a sign to do anything, then Shinobu did something very bold, she stood in front of him, and put both her arms around his neck. Becoming red herself, slightly at what she was about to do, but this was the perfect time to make it known how she felt. It was now or never for her. And the way he looked back at her, with eyes full of content, and attraction, and softness, she knew just from the way he was staring back at her, that she got a sign that it was okay.)
Shinobu: Tomioka-San...can I...express my gratitude to you.(Eyes of passion, and desire, Giyu just looked on her with a red face, he swallowed nervously, and nodded his head, like he understood what she was asking.) I'm kinda nervous, this is my first time...could you...close your eyes for me?!
Giyu's thoughts:
He closed his eyes, and waiting for whatever Shinobu had planned. Normally he would be against it, and ask questions, but this time, it was different, he wanted to..feel, feel Shinobu, to see what it was like to display human affection towards her. To feel vulnerable with the opposite sex, and get a better understanding on himself, as well as his feelings for Shinobu. So once his eyes were closed, he just waited...for what seem like 2 minutes. Finally, it happened. He opened his eyes to utter shocked to see Shinobu, the one he cared for, was kissing him, on the lips no less..he could tell she was shy herself because she had her eyes closed. It was like a tidal wave of water collided with him when he made lip contact with her, it was nothing he could imagine, because for the first time it was actually happening..to him. The look of her face, the feel of her small frame pressed against him, the taste of her lips, it was like cherry and tasted delicious and indescribable. To say it was amazing was an understatement, it was pure bliss and adrenaline running through him. By the time, he proceeded what happened, it was over. She separated her lips from him, having butterflies in her stomach as well and slowly opening her eyes and looking back at him, with all her emotions she could bring to the surface. It was something, they both would never forget for the rest of their lives. And she had such sincerity in her eyes, it completely had him taken back.
Shinobu: Wow...just, wow. Oh my goodness, Tomioka-San. I didn't know you were such a good kisser.(Face Medium red )And thank you for letting me get that off my chest..To tell you the truth I been wanting to do that for so long. And now I got the chance to do it with somebody I care about. I couldn't be more content. And truthfully, I'd do it again because it was with you. (Taking hold off his hand and putting it up between them) Tomioka-San there's something I wanna tell you but it'll have to wait until we get to the estate so..do you mind waiting until we get there, just a little longer ?!
Giyu: (Not saying nothing, but shaking his head in understanding of her request.)
Shinobu: Thank you, Tomioka-San. We don't have to talk anymore until we get there if you want, but either way, let me have this moment and walk with you being completely by your side. (He nodded, and she wrapped herself around his arm as the two walked in the dead of night under the warm soft glow of the moon illuminating the path for them, as they made their way back ti the mansion, neither of them said a word, but simply enjoyed each other company with new feelings guiding them ever so closely, it truly was for them...an eventful encounter.)

Hey guys, glad to see you made it with me with for the anticipated chapter 3, finally having these two FINALLY met. Sorry for the delay, I was tending to my daughter these past few days and working on being dad of the year. This chapter I really had fun writing and creating and hope you all enjoyed it as well. I know my loyal "GiyuShino" definitely appreciated this one for sure.
PS: My apologies if this chapter seemed a little long, but I really had to make sure that this was nothing short of perfection to the best of my abilities, when making this chapter in particular. I didn't want to give you guys nothing less then you deserved so a lot of thoughts was put into this to give you another masterpiece chapter.
