Chuck is standing in his kitchen just frozen in time. He is thinking about his drunken rage of playing guitar hero and wishing that it was that day. That day, Sarah told him how she truly felt. Sarah told him that he loved her. Him, in his underwear, got the girl. That day, they still had the rest of their lives together. He smiles to himself and feels a warm glow in his heart, their memories make him smile. Despite everything, he was grateful to know the great love of his life, because to be loved by Sarah Walker was an incredible feeling. He snaps out of the daydream that he feels himself falling into. Chuck had his blue suit on, today was the day that he would return to Carmichael Industries and turn it into a cyber terrorism fighting unit. He wanted to fulfil Sarah's dreams, it's the least he could do.

Chuck makes his way out into the courtyard, where Morgan runs out to greet him, "Chuckie Chuck, how are you doing?"

"I'm okay buddy, heading into the office today."

"Good, good. Quick question: Which office Chuck because you are overdressed for the Buymore?"

"Carmichael Industries, today the company is becoming a full-fledged terrorism fighting company. I first need to turn some profit before actually moving the company above ground but we will see."

"So, we are leaving the Buymore?"

"Yes, Morgan; change has to come eventually."

"Good thing I know who can take over my managerial position. It's big shoes to fill."

"Agreed buddy, I will see you later. I need to get going." Chuck gives a gentle nod to his best friend and heads to the Nerd Herder which he still drives. He unlocks his car and moves to the driver's door when he hears a voice interrupt his thoughts, "Chuck?" he knew that voice all too well.

"You're back." He says with a smile. He reminds himself, don't bring up old memories, don't ask Sarah to do anything just keep the conversation based on the here and now. He finds himself walking closer to Sarah, but not too close. He must give her enough space to flee if necessary.

"Yes, I got back last night," Sarah responded with a sigh.

"Are you okay, Sarah?"

"Not really. It's just a lot."

"I know." Chuck moves closer to giver her a tight hug. One of his rules was to avoid physical contact, he didn't want Sarah to feel as if he was making moves on her. But this was the one exception, she needed to feel held. They stand there for a minute or so just holding each other and feeling each other's heartbeat. They don't say anything but just stand, holding each other in complete silence. Chuck gives her a squeeze to try and put her broken pieces back together. He rests his head on top of hers, knowing that he could stand here, holding her forever. It feels so natural to have her back in his arms even if she isn't who she used to be.

Sarah pulls away from the embrace and Chuck really looks at her and notice how much she has softened since she first returned home. Initially, when she came home after her memory was erased, her expression was forced, it was stern and unapologetic. Today, as she stands in front of him in the perfect light of the morning sun, she looks different. She looks softer, she looks deflated, she looks like she is uncomfortable with her own body.

"Sarah, do you want to spend the day with me? It will be a day of fun, you and me doing fun things."

Sarah didn't know exactly what that entailed. Nevertheless, she agreed, "Okay, Chuck. What are we going to do?"

"Aah, I'm not sure actually, let's see where the road takes us." He smiled. He moved to the passenger side of the door and opened it, "My Lady." Sarah got in the car unquestioning. Chuck entered the car and let out a yell of excitement, "I know where we are going but first, Sarah, I need to set ground rules for today."

"What are these ground rules?"

Chuck is beaming, "I am not taking you anywhere we have been before, I am not using today as some sort of memory test. Today is about the present moments and not the past. So, let's just enjoy this time together."

Sarah smiles for the first time today, "It sounds perfect."

While driving, the conversation was easy. They spoke about the weather, and it wasn't one of those conversation fillers, they both really enjoyed noticing the clouds and the glow of the sun on specific days. When there was silence, it wasn't awkward, it felt natural to be with each other even when they didn't have anything else to say. Because they enjoyed the company of one another. Chuck thought to himself that he didn't need any moments of the past, he just wanted a chance for Sarah to fall back in love with him. He just needed to create time that they could spend together. They were nearing the destination that Chuck had in mind, "Sarah, will you close your eyes?"

"Do I have to? I hate surprises."

"I know, I know. But I really think you will enjoy this one." Sarah abides by Chuck's request and closes her eyes. He is parking the car and pondering on which exit to bring her too. "Sarah, you won't like this, but I need you to get out of the car keeping your eyes closed. I will tell you when you can open your eyes." Chuck moves to help Sarah out of the car. He puts on arm around her and with his free hand holds her hand to guide her. They walk slowly across the parking lot and stand facing a sign. The sign reads: "Amusement Park" in big glowing letters.

"Are you ready?" Chuck asks.

"Yes," Sarah says hesitantly.

"Okay, so you can open your eyes. My idea for this was to have no stress or worries today. Today, we can just relax and hopefully have fun."

"Strange but perfect. I can't remember when last I have been in a park." They make their way inside the park and decide that they will go on a few rollercoasters. After the first ride, they both have grins plastered on their face. "Well, that was a different kind of adrenaline," Sarah muttered.

"I know right, but surprisingly a completely different high from the spy world." The couple was standing at the entry to the ride waiting to view the photo that was taken during the ride. On a TV, the slide show begins of all the photos taken. Shortly into the slideshow, Chuck and Sarah's photo is screened. They weren't facing the camera, they were looking at each other, with their mouth's open – probably screaming. Chuck and Sarah might not have noticed but every other person looking at this slideshow noticed the amount of love shared in the gaze. Love might not have been present on Sarah's face that day but everybody could see it was still in her eyes.

After playing several arcade games and Sarah noticeably beating Chuck in every shooting game, they decide that it's time for lunch. Chuck gathers picnic supplies from a nearby vendor in the park and they decide to sit on the green grass in some shade. Chuck sets the blanket down and hands Sarah a pillow. "Sorry, usually my picnics are worth five stars but today I just had to make do."

"Chuck, this is wonderful. I have really had a wonderful time. Truthfully, I felt like a kid again. No worries, no stress and no bad guys to catch. It was nice to just be."

"Ah, so that means I completed my mission." Chuck winks at Sarah.

"Completed," Sarah confirms. Chuck digs in the bad and brings out a couple of sandwiches, snacks and drinks. He lays everything on the blanket and triumphantly states "This is all that I could find for lunch. Hopefully, there is something that you like." Secretly though, Chuck knew that the BLT was Sarah's favourite and he made sure to buy it. Along with her favourite sweets, sour gums.

"Oh yeah, BLTs are my favourite, thank you, Chuck."

With the sincerest look, he says, "You're welcome, Ms Walker."

They spend a couple of minutes diving into their food and reminiscing about the day and the fun that they had. After the light-hearted conversation, Sarah attempts to take things a little deeper, "Chuck, what are you going to do now? Are you still a spy?"

"If I'm being completely honest, I'm not sure Sarah. I don't really know what I want. Today I was heading over to Carmichael Industries to start the transformation into a cyber-terrorism fighting unit. I think that I just need to take things a bit slow for the next few months and I think that would be a good way to spend my time. What do you think?" Chuck was used to asking for Sarah's advice and he hoped that he could always ask her what she thought.

"I think it's a good plan. Taking time to figure out what you want is never a waste of time but its important to make sure that you are content with your decisions."

"Thank you, Sarah." Chuck was thinking to himself how she always gave the best advice. How can someone come up with stuff like this on the spur of the moment? Just because Sarah can be closed off doesn't mean that she can't read people well. Chuck knew this from the very start. "The view is beautiful, hey?" He says as he leans back on one of the pillows.

Sarah follows suite and responds, "A view that I will remember." They sit in silence for some time. The afternoon breeze is picking up to cool the warm air down and the park is becoming busier with people taking their children to the park. Chuck slowly sits up and takes Sarah's hand, "Sarah, I just need to ask you, are you okay?"

Sarah takes a moment to think, she avoids Chuck's eyes and looks to the clouds for help. She starts, "Chuck, today I am okay. But every day before today, I have been wondering who I am and who I was for the past 5 years. I have been worried about the time that I have lost and it is consuming me. How does a person continue after being gone for so long? How do I pick up where I left off? I want to remember. I have a feeling that everybody thinks that I want to be a cold spy that doesn't remember anything and gives her whole life to the CIA. That's not true. I just want to be someone important to someone. I want to have conversations about my day with a person that I can trust. I…" there was a noticeable lump in her throat after saying what she is feeling. Chuck pulls her closer to him and wraps an arm around her. He rubs her back gently but doesn't interrupt what she is saying.

"No one wants me to remember, more than me."

"I'm so sorry, Sarah." Chuck couldn't think of anything meaningful to say and he didn't want to fill the air with unnecessary words. "Nothing will ever make what happened to you, okay, but I want you to know that you deserve all of those things that you spoke about. And, I know that one day you will get those things."

Sarah leans closer to Chuck and they lie back down on the picnic blanket waiting for the sun to set.
