'Wow Annabeth, this is really good!'
Annabeth blushed while Piper fawned over her newest song 'Since you been gone.'
They were currently sprawled across her bedroom floor surrounded by pages of lyrics and an open laptop.
'You think? I dont know what came over me to be honest. Its a lot angrier than i normally go for but-'
'No, angry is good. You should be angry. Im angry for you.' Piper replied, flipping through her songbook. Normally Annabeth was really private with it, it contained her most raw thoughts and emotions - but this was Piper. If she couldn't open up to her, she couldn't open up to anyone.
'Im surprised it took you so long to be honest.' Piper continued, brushing over a page gently.
'What do you mean?' Annabeth pushed off of her elbow and sat up, looking blankly at the girl.
'Well, he cheated on you. I mean, you were friends with him for years. I don't understand how he could do something like that. Like, where is the respect?'
Annabeth nodded numbly as the words washed over her.
'Like, if it was me, i would've torn up a media storm by now because all my angry tweets would be making daily headlines.'
Annabeth smiled and shook her head.
'Thats why Tristan wont let you have social media.'
Piper scoffed and picked at her fingernails.
'Please, i do it for my own good. Its terrible for mental health.'
Annabeth rolled her eyes fondly. 'Right, I'm sure thats why.'
'I mean, you barely even talked shit about him to me! Its one thing to post online about it, which i understand why you didn't, but why not talk to me about it?'
Annabeth sighed and looked dejectedly at the ground, where mounts of lyrics lay unfinished.
'I don't know. I just find the whole thing embarrassing.' She answered quietly, causing Piper to look at her in shock.
'Annabeth! Embarrassing? Please! That guy was the worse of the worse, you did nothing to be ashamed of!'
'I know that!' She spoke a bit louder, careful not to wake Percy in the next room.
'I just, i feel like i stuck up for him for so long. You all told me that he was no good for me and i just-'
Piper shook her head strongly and shuffled closer to her bestie, wrapping a comforting arm round her shoulder.
'Annabeth. Like i said, that guy was manipulative and genuinely just a horrible person. No one holds anything against you. Fuck Luke.'
Annabeth nodded slightly. 'Fuck Luke.'
'Hey that could be a good song!' Piper exclaimed, eagerly reaching for a pen.
'What fuck Luke? Kinda defeats the being silent on social media thing and honestly not my -'
'No you spoon! Say what you just said again!'
Annabeth looked at her best friend blankly.
'That i found the whole thing embarrassing?'
Piper snapped her fingers easily and began scribbling down words.
'Yep! Thats the one!'
Annabeth shuffled closer and looked curiously down at the page.

Piper sat up straight with a satisfied smirk on her face.
'See, I'm no Annabeth Chase but that was pretty good.'
Annabeth grinned as she analysed the words closer.
'This is really good. I can definitely work with this.'
Piper grinned and jumped onto Annabeth's double bed, snuggling under the covers.
'I aim to please. Now come cuddle, I'm tired.'
