'So, how's song writing going? Been inspired?'
She glanced across to where Percy sat in the drivers seat. Leo had a computer science meet this morning so skipped on the ride, leaving just her and Percy. She was thankful, as much as she loved Leo. It seemed that especially since Piper showed up a day ago, they barely had any alone time.
Piper offered to help Poseidon around the farm whilst Annabeth was at school and although he insisted she was a guest and didn't need to, he could tell how excited she was to see the animals. He couldn't resist letting her run wild.
'Annabeth?'
'Hm?' She looked up to see Percy glancing at her with concern. His black hair brushed over his eyes and she found her heart beat quickening as he gazed at her.
He smiled at her softly. 'I asked if you were feeling inspired lately?'
Boy, he had no idea.
She grinned up at him. 'Actually yes, I've already written one, and almost done with a second.'
Percy smiled. 'I bet they are super cool.'
She looked at the fields through the window as they passed, the yellow crops lining her vision for miles.
'I hope so. Its a pretty different route than normal but i really like it. I just hope everyone else does.'
'Hey,' he spoke as he brought the car to a stop at a red light, 'theres nothing wrong with different. Im sure it'll be great.'
They stared at each other until the car behind them honked to signal the light had turned green. Percy coughed and began to drive again.
It was silent for a few moments. Not awkward though, in fact, Annabeth felt the most at peace she had in a while.'
'So,' Percy started.
'So,' Annabeth teased back, causing him to glare at her.
'Did you find a dress you like?'
A smile lit up her face thinking about the gorgeous blue dress hanging in her closet.
'Yes. I love it. Its so pretty and its blue and i don't know, I'm just really excited.'
He grinned down at her softly, with an emotion she couldn't read covering his eyes. 'Me too. I bet you'll look super pretty.'
Cue Annabeth's blush.
'Plus,' he continued, grinning teasingly over at her, 'i already had a blue tie so I'm sorted.'
Annabeth rolled her eyes fondly. 'Honestly, boys have it so easy.'
He let out a laugh.
'Normally yes, but you should see how many messages i have from Jason. He's really worried. He said he wants to look the best he ever has.'
Annabeth laughed and shook her head, 'he'll look great, i know it!'
Percy frowned at her. ' not as good as me though right?'
She shoved him slightly as he pulled into the school parking lot, causing him to smirk. 'Of course not. No one can look as good as you.'
Although she was blushing like mad as she said it, the adorable way it lit up his face made it all worth it.

Calypso Titan was one of the most intimidating people Annabeth has ever met. She understood why Leo was nervous, and she seriously considered calling Hazel for backup as she watched the girl walk towards the changing room.
Oh relax, she told herself, you literally meet celebrities on the daily back home, you got this!
With confidence to be admired, she strode up to the girl and gently tapped her shoulder.
Calypso spun round and shot her a grin.
'Oh hey Annabeth, you okay?'
She was even prettier up close. Her blonde hair flowed over her shoulder so beautiful and effortlessly that Annabeth couldnt help but feel slight jealousy. She wished her frizzy hair would look more like that.
'Uh yeah, i just wanted to ask you about the dance.'
Calypso raised a curious eyebrow.
'Annabeth, im flattered and everything but im straight-'
'No! Oh my god i didnt mean - look i'll cut right to it, are you going to ask Leo Valdez?'
Calypso's eyes widened quickly before she composed herself and looked at her nails, pretending to be opposed.
'I thought you were going with him?'
Annabeth's eyes nearly fell out her head by the way they bulged.
'What! No! Gross! I mean, i love him but no!'
Calypso stood straighter and looked at her in confusion.
'But, someone said he asked you out in the canteen?'
Annabeth facepalmed and shook her head.
'Oh my god! No! Im going with Percy! I dont like Leo like that, and he definitely doesnt like me! He's been waiting for you to ask him!'
Annabeth smacked a hand over her mouth, cursing herself at spilling the beans. She'd be an awful spy.
Calypso paused for a second before a grin lit up her face.
'Wait, did he send you to ask me?'
'No!'
Calypso shook her head, laughing.
'Annabeth how the hell do you have an Oscar. That was terrible acting!'
'Excuse me!'
'Kidding! Oh my god, the only reason i didnt ask him is because i thought be asked you! Okay, i'll ask him at lunch. God, he's such a loser - why didn't he just ask me himself?'
Annabeth shrugged.
'Boys.'
'Amen sister.'

Annabeth : im oddly happy that he cares

Leo : ur lucky u got me a date with the best girl ever or i would fall out with u
Annabeth : :)
Leo : okay im going before i get murdered, if you dont see me in Chem it's because percy killed me
Leo : avenge me plz
Annabeth : tbh calypso is pretty hot if u die i could take her to the dance :)
Leo : ...
Leo : i changed my mind. We've fallen out
Annabeth : goodbye leo :)
Leo : i'll just have to have percy then ;)
