A Cold Wind In Hell

Chapter Six: Recreational

After the incident with Gray Fox, and getting repairs done, the rest of the day went on without further interruptions. The group of Charlie, Vaggie, Angel Dust and Sam were sat at separate tables, each with a large block of wood and a carving knife.

"Alright, everyone, here's the first plan!" Charlie declared. "Sam, since you like to carve from the looks of it, I decided that we should start with some wood carving!"

"Sounds good to me." Sam agreed with a nod.

"Wrong kind of wood." Angel pouted.

"So, just carve it into whatever first comes to mind." Charlie went on. "And no need to rush!"

Everyone then got started, going at their own pace, and after several hours, they did finish their wood carvings; Vaggie simply stabbed her spear into the wood to make a pencil holder, Angel Dust made a dildo, and Charlie made a wooden statue of her mother, Lilith.

Looking over, Charlie saw what Sam was carving what seemed to be a feline creature.

"What's that?" She asked.

"A cougar." Sam answered. "My mother used to love this animal."

"Aw, that's adorable!" Charlie said with baby doll eyes.

"I don't think you ever mentioned your mom before." Vaggie pointed out.

"Well, she and my father lived very different lives, so they ended up divorcing when I was young." Sam shrugged. "Still, sometimes I wonder if she knows that me and my father are both dead."

"I'm sorry, Sam." Charlie said with sad eyes. "It must be hard with those kinds of thoughts."

"Do not be sorry, Charlie." Sam waved it off. "I'd like to think she simply forgot about us, as to ease the anxiety."

"Then how about we move on from the sad stuff?" Charlie said, hoping to change the subject and move on. "We still have plenty more activities to try!"

"I'm all for it." Sam said with a smile.

Moving on from wood carving, the small group proceeded with other activities, such as painting, cycling around the city, listening to music and watching a movie together.

The cycling around the city block was relatively smooth, although annoying with Angel Dust at Sam, who was wearing a t-shirt and shorts for the ride.

After cycling, next was painting, which was surprisingly clean, as everyone painted their own pictures; Charlotte painting an exact portrait of herself and her parents, Vaggie drew one with her wearing Valkyrie armor and holding two spears, Angel Dust…drew a bunch of literal dicks.

Sam, on the other hand, drew what appeared to be a featureless ronin, katana at his side, walking through a field of dying rice plants, with dark clouds and a setting red sun in the background.

"Wow, amazing, Sam!" Charlie said with amazement. "You're a natural!"

"I've tried my hand at a few hobbies in life." Sam shrugged. "Guess nothing really stuck."

Vaggie took a look at the samurai in the painting, taking note of the lack of expression, or rather the lack of a face.

"The samurai represents you, right?" She asked, gaining the ronin's attention. "You're loss of identity?"

"You hit the nail on the head, Chica." Sam nodded. "Ever since my father died, I was lost without purpose. And my loss to Armstrong only made my identity crisis worse."

"Well, don't you worry." Charlie said with determination. "We're gonna see about helping your crisis!"

After that, the group went on to watching movies together; from classics like Pirates of the Caribbean to Kurasawa films like Yojimbo. Sam found it quite enjoyable, until Angel Dust fell asleep during Yojimbo and his head fell on Sam's crotch, leading to the spider demon falling on the floor.

After finishing the movies, they proceeded to clean up the theater room.

"Man, I love the classics!" Charlie declared. "Johnny Depp was awesome as Jack Sparrow!"

"I never imagined the Princess of Hell would find joy in human activities." Sam remarked. "You're full of surprises, Charlie."

"Well, a girl's gotta have a hobby." Charlie said. "It's always nice to have something to distract you from reality."

"Nothing wrong with that." Sam nodded in agreement. "Sometimes, you need an escape from the harshness or reality in order to keep some level of sanity."

As they were entering the lobby, the front doors swung open, revealing Cherri Bomb having kicked the doors in.

"Wassup, bitches!" She called out, gaining the attention of Charlie, Sam and Angel Dust in the lobby.

"Cherri, you skank!" Angel said before high fiving his friend.

"What're you doing here?" Charlie asked. "You're not exactly permitted to be here."

"I know, but I was thinking for a bit." Cherri said. "And I think I can add something to your little pet project."

Charlie raised an eyebrow, but allowed the Sinner to continue speaking.

"Hobbies are nice and all, but nothing beats going out and really hitting the town." Cherri went on, her smile never leaving her face. "Especially going to one of the biggest theme parks in all of the Pride Ring."

"When you say theme park, you mean-" Charlie began to say, before Cherri cut her off.

"Damn straight!" Cherri declared, holding up several tickets. "I've got free tickets to Lu Lu World!"

"LU LU WORLD?!"

Nearly jumping in surprise, they all turned toward the still open door, seeing the trio of Imps come into view.

"Damnit, Millie, did you have to yell?!" Blitzo, the tallest of the three, scolded his employee.

"Sorry, Blitz, but I just excited at the mention of it." Millie sheepishly said.

"What're you three doing here?" Sam asked.

"We heard from Fox about this 'motivator' that's supposed to help Loona and I wanted to see who he was talking about." Blitzo shrugged. "Never thought it'd be the Clyde of Hell himself."

"Damn, you've got one hell of a reputation, pussy cat." Angel remarked.

"And now?" Sam asked.

"Well, we-" Blitzo made to speak, but was quickly cut off by the female Imp.

"Can we go too?!" She asked loudly, with sparkles in her eyes. "I've always wanted to go to Lu Lu World!"

"Millie, their probably busy." Moxxie, Millie's husband, finally spoke up. "Plus, I doubt they'd want us tagging along."

"On the contrary, I'm sur ethe princess wouldn't mind." Sam spoke up. "You only need ask."

Looking at the big, sparkling eyes of the female Imp, Charlie found it nearly impossible to say no.

"I suppose you could tag along." She said. "As long as you don't cause any trouble."

"Yes!" Millie whooped. "You won't be disappointed!"

"Well, with that settled, we'll be going now." Blitzo said, grabbing his employees by their collars. "See you all there!"

And with that, the trio of Imps left, leaving the Hazbin crew with a mixture of surprise and confusion.

"Well, that happened." Angel spoke up.

"I really hope I didn't make a huge mistake." Charlie groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose.

"C'mon, they seem harmless enough." Cherri shrugged. "'Sides, what could possibly go wrong?"

Meanwhile, in the industrial district, the Jaded Viper gang were inside their base of operations; a large, military base where they were all busy loading and unloading shipping containers and weapons, all moving about and hurrying to prepare for their next job.

All except for one, being the leader.

Inside the office, Terumi sat alone at his desk, fingers intertwined, and his eyes closed as though he were in deep thought.

"Samuel Rodrigues…" He mumbled, almost to himself. "I haven't heard that name since the day I died…"

Knock knock!

A knock on the door snapped him out of his trance, his eyes snapping open.

"Enter."

Upon the command, the door opened, a Jaded Viper solder entering and saluting his leader.

"You asked for me, sir?" He stated.

"I did." Terumi nodded. "I have a task for you; head to the Hazbin Hotel, in secret, and keep an eye out for a Sinner called Samuel Rodrigues. Shouldn't be that hard to find, since he carries a sword everywhere he goes."

"Understood!" The soldier declared. "Anything else, sir?"

"Shadow them and watch them and report to me their every move." Terumi said sternly. "And wait for further instructions."

"Understood, sir!" The solder said before turning and leaving the room.

Once again, Terumi was left to his thoughts, before he stood up from his desk, his golden, snake-like eyes staring out the window.

"Samuel Rodrigues…" He said once more, his hand pressing against the surface of the glass as he stared out into the streets of the city.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity…"

He walked back over to his desk, picking up a hunting knife.

"For me…"

He turned towards a newspaper pinned on the wall, Sam's face on the cover.

"To take revenge."

He then threw the knife, the blade stabbing into the old parchment.

"See you soon, Sam."

I think I've given enough clues as to who this person is and why they have in interest in Sam. Hope you guys look forward to when these two finally meet again and clash blades! Again, I apologize if the new chapter seems rushed, I'm trying the best I can to get around to fixing things up, but my workplace loves kicking my ass with the current hours and it's exhausting. Still, I'm gonna keep trying the best I can and I hope you guys continue to be patient with me.

And in the next chapter, there will be trouble in LuLu World! What kind of trouble will occur? Stick around and find out!

And with that, I hope you guys stay tuned for the next chapter! Reviews are greatly appreciated!
