Summary: What if Haou was Jaden's older brother and was destined to be king for the duel monsters world? What if Jesse lived with Jaden before the two were sent to the human dimension and continued living as Jaden Yuki and Jesse Anderson with no memory of their previous lives? "Prince Jaden! Lord Jesse! Come back here!" Maiden of Aqua shouted. Four-year-old Jaden giggled while riding on top of his older brother, Haou while five-year-old Jesse was running happily next to his older brother, Johan.
Everyone in the kingdom mistakes them as twins, but they are so wrong.
Jaden and Haou have the same brown hair and style, but Haou had brown-golden eyes while Jaden had chocolate-brown eyes. Jesse and Johan have the same spiky teal hair, but Jesse had green eyes while Johan had orange eyes.
"Prince Haou! Lord Johan! Don't you dare!" Aqua shouted, spotting the set of siblings climb to the top of a nearby tree. She placed her hands on her hips, "Really now? Come down this instant or you're going to be late for your crowning ceremony."
Haou pouted, "Why do I have to be crowned? My father's still alive and well."
"Because it's tradition for the child to be crowned at the age of ten," replied Aqua. "Now, you get down willingly or… do I have to fetch Yubel to get you down."
"…fine," murmured Haou. He and Johan jumped down, "Jaden, come down!"
The small brunette giggled before jumping off the branch and into his brother's arms. Johan did the same with his little brother.
Aqua sighed in relief, "Come now Haou, Johan. Yubel will watch your little siblings while you two get ready for the ceremony."
Haou was about to protest when he felt a tug from his black tunic. He looked down to see his brother's innocent chocolate-brown eyes.
"I'll be fine, big brother," Jaden said placing his arm around Jesse and grinned. "I'll be with my best friend and Yubel isn't going to let anyone hurt us."
Haou stared at Jaden before nodding, "Alright, let's go Johan."
Johan looked at his brother, "Keep an eye open on anything suspicious. Remember what father has taught you so far."
Jesse nodded, "No one's going to step near my best friend while I'm around!"
Haou had a small smile while Johan shook his head. The two followed the young water priestess to the castle while the younger siblings went to the entrance of the gardens.
Yubel was once human, but not too long ago was turned into this demonic duel monster spirit to become Haou's guardian until his powers mature.
"Over here!" Jaden shouted as he spotted the guardian.
Yubel roughly landed nearby before adjusting her wings. She huffed a bit before smiling over at them, "Good afternoon, so what shall we do?"
"Oh! I know!" Jesse said, excitedly. He turned around and pointed at the forest, "I found this really cool place not too far from here!"
"What is it?" Jaden asked.
"I'm not sure, but it was really cool!" Jesse said before looking over at Yubel. "Can you take us there? Please!"
Yubel thought for a moment, "I believe I can. But, if there's any signs of trouble, I'll be taking you two away from there, understand?"
The two young children nodded.
"Very well. Lead the way Jesse," said Yubel.
An hour later, Haou with his ceremony robes and Johan went out to look for their younger siblings and Yubel. The guards notify them that their brothers and Haou's guardian were spotted nearby the gardens.
Haou sighed, "I can't wait to get rid of these 'flashy' robes. I prefer my black ones."
Johan laughed, "If you say so, but you have to admit that you look rather dashing in those 'flashy' robes of yours."
Haou glared, "Then, you wear them!"
Johan backed away before noticing a beam of light coming from the forest along with familiar screams. He and Haou widen their eyes before dashing into the forest.
Not too far from the entrance, there was a mysterious portal opened.
Haou gritted his teeth, holding a tree before spotting Yubel, Jaden and Jesse who were being suck into the portal. The young prince was about to let go of the tree when Johan grabbed his arm.
"Let go! I need to save…!" Haou started.
"What about you?!" Johan snapped. "I'm sorry Haou, but I can't – Who knows what dimension you'll be send to!"
Haou gritted his teeth, feeling helpless as he can't do anything.
Johan watched the portal that looked to be closing, but instead it let out a furious bright light that spread around the area and was heading towards Jaden, Jesse and Yubel.
"BIG BROTHER!" Jaden screamed.
The bright light caused Haou and Johan to cover their eyes. Once the light dimmed and the portal closed, Johan let go of Haou. The prince slumped to the ground, staring at the spot where his brother stood. He gritted his teeth before shouting, "JADEN! YUBEL!"
-Duel Academy, twelve years later-
Jaden gasped, 'That dream again…who is he? Why does he look so much like me?'
The brunette sighed before looking around. Sitting to his left was Jesse Anderson, Blair to his right and Hassleberry not too far from them.
There were a few students that were sleeping on the floor or on makeshift beds.
Jaden looked over to see a solid Winged Kuriboh sleeping with one of Jesse's Crystal Beast, Ruby and Pharaoh, the cat. He carefully got up, trying not to wake up Jesse or Blair.
The brunette walked away a bit to see Jim and Axel doing patrol and made sure that none of the remaining students would get out and face the ghouls. He was about to go back when he saw Jesse walking over to him.
"Can't sleep, I take," said Jesse.
"You…can say that…" murmured Jaden.
Jesse frowned before placing his hand on the brunette's shoulder. He smiled, "Come on Jay, we'll find a way back. And find help those that are ghouls."
Jaden sighed, "If you say so Jess, but…I don't know. I'm getting this…strange feeling that something is about to happen."
"Well, whatever it is, we will face it together," said Jesse with determination. "Now, you really need to rest from your last duel…are you sure your back is fine? You slammed pretty hard from that explosion."
"Yea, it's fine. Just a small bruise," said Jaden.
Jesse sighed, "Come on, a little rest wouldn't hurt."
Jaden nodded, slowly. The two walked back to their spot and Jaden used Jesse's lap as a pillow and within seconds, he falls asleep.
What he didn't know was that Jesse was looking at his back and could see the bruise was getting worse. The bluenette looked over at the remaining medicines they had, but it wasn't much as most was used on Blair who had a fever and a wound on her shoulder.
Covering Jaden's back, Jesse bit his lip, 'If we don't find a way back home, Jaden's bruise could really start hurting him. What do we do?'
His thoughts were pushed aside when they heard Marcel's voice and made a deal to them if they win in a duel against his three masked knights, they can get some supplies.
Jesse, Jim and Axel volunteered to duel against the knights, but as the duel went on, Jaden spotted Marcel heading somewhere else. Without thinking, Jaden and Blair followed the Ra student including Vice Principal Bonaparte who happens to be Marcel's father.
That's when Marcel revealed his arm that was inhuman to Blair and Bonaparte, but to Jaden, it looked…familiar. Suddenly, Marcel strikes his devil arm into the ground that caused Jaden, Blair and Bonaparte to be blown away.
Jaden landed on his stomach, but Blair and Bonaparte landed right on his back. The brunette gritted his teeth to hold his scream as the pain traveled through his back.
Marcel just smirked before going down to get the Sacred Beast cards.
"Jaden, what do we do?" Blair asked.
Jaden winced a bit, "I-I'll go after him. Go back with-with Vice Principal Bonaparte. Tell the others w-wha…happened…"
Blair noticed how pale Jaden looked. She frowned, "Are you sure? You don't look so good."
Jaden laughed, "Yea, I'm fine. It's cause I haven't eaten much, you know?"
Blair nodded, but before anyone can move, someone got hold onto Jaden's shoulders. The brunette looked up to see it's Harpie Lady.
"I've found him! I've found him! This is great! Haou is going to be happy once again!" Harpie Lady said, excitedly.
"Wait a moment! Hey! Let me…" said Jaden before getting dizzy.
Down at the ground, Blair freaked out and ran back to the academy with Bonaparte following close by. They arrived as Jesse, Jim and Axel beaten the three masked knights who were two Obelisk students and a Ra student.
"Jesse!" Blair shouted, stopping right in front of him.
"What's wrong?"
"J-Jaden," Blair took a few deep breathes before looking serious, "Harpie Lady took him!"
"What?!"
"You sure little lass?" Jim asked.
"Of course, I'm sure!" Blair snapped, angrily.
"She's telling the truth!" Bonaparte said.
"So, you're telling us that the sarge was monster-napped!" Hassleberry said, dramatically.
"Yes, for a thousand time!" Blair snapped as Jesse's face turned pale.
"Ah man," said Jim, looking over at the horizon. "It's going to be difficult to find Jaden in this wasteland and there's no telling what's out there either."
Jesse gritted his teeth, "But we have to find him!"
"And why is that mate?" Jim asked, crossing his arms.
Jesse looked down, "Jaden…he's hurt, badly. He got slammed into a wall during that duel against Miss Fontaine…hard that formed a bruise on his back. I think it's starting to get worse."
Jim frowned, "If he hit his back that bad, then he might be bleeding inside."
Jesse closed his eyes, "Damn it!"
-Oasis Dimension-
"Maya, what are you doing here? I thought the King send you to investigate that strange energy," said Aqua.
"Oh, I did! I did!" Maya aka Harpie Lady said then tilted her head, "What I saw was a strange building that shouldn't be there. And a bunch of human children and adults."
"That is strange," murmured Aqua before noticing the unconscious boy that Harpie Lady was carrying. "Who's…this?"
Maya grinned, "I've found him! I've found Prince Jaden!"
-Break Line-
Next Chapter: Jaden is captured and taking somewhere far from his friends while Jesse must deal with possessed Marcel and try to find Jaden before returning home.
