A/N: Sorry for the delay. I just got off of Jury Duty. So, I'm curious. Maybe my mind sees things different. I even reread the previous chapter and weak Fitz is not what I read. Maybe it's because I know where the story is going and Fitz true intent. Hopefully this chapter will give you all clarity. I will give you Fitz thoughts and point of view. What he is thinking. What he is feeling and how he will handle it all. Let get it! Shot out to all my new followers and my day one's. Thank you all. If you only knew the feeling an inspiring author gets when we see review/new followers alerts, can someone say adrenaline rush! I'm so freaking hyped right now. My mind is running a 100 miles an hour. I got to get this out today, so just know…yes I'm that good that I can crank a chapter out in one day if I so choose (Pats myself on the fucking back cause I'm that damn good at this writing shit!). I feel the love and curiosity of it all. Let's get to the story.
Happy Reading!
After leaving his wife in bed asleep Fitz drove about a mile down the road and parked. He had so much on his mind that he needed to take a moment before Diego met up with him. Still not too far from home he thought about everything that has happened since Diego made him aware of certain things, he considered suspicious.
He thought about his uncle first and for most. The fact that he was so concerned about his relationship with Olivia and his children one minutes, then how easily he switched up. Now that he had to go through chemotherapy, Liv and the kids were not even on his radar of concern. He even encouraged him to get tested for paternity regarding Giulia's son, when he once told him to not pursue it. Fitz was no fool. So many things weren't adding up. From Tony playing the dotting uncle in order to get what he wanted out of Fitz, to one of his most trustworthy men moving funny or as some may say, shady.
Then there was Giulia, she was not acting like herself. Fitz spent two whole years with this woman, and he knew her behaviors and habits. Something was off with her as well. She was holding back and lying to him and for the life of him at first, he couldn't understand why. If he didn't know anything else, he knew Giulia loved and respected him. So why was she lying to his face? Even Ray Charles could see she was lying about the paternity of her son. Jake was a complete asshole, this he knew, but that boy was no more Jake's son then him thinking when he was alive that Olivia had an ounce of attraction to him. Why would Giulia lie though? He had been pondering this in his brain for some time now, and he finally came up with a reason…Uncle Tony.
Even though his intuition told him this, he needed to be sure. He had a wife and children to consider. Liv was the only women outside of his mother, but she was definitely the first, to make him want to change. For these two women plus his beautiful daughter as being another important female in his life along with his son, he needed to dead all this shit within his circle of doubt when it came to people around him and their motives for being in his life. Everyone outside of his immediate family was considered an opposition…even his uncle Tony at this point.
Fitz was no fool and knew when his gut told him something was not quit right. For this reason alone he was able to become the man he is today. His gut told him Olivia was the love of his life and he would one day find her and make her his wife. As anyone can see, it was correct. Now his gut told him something was amiss in his life and the people he trusted.
Diego was a beast from a different breed. Olivia trusted him from day one, and for this reason alone, with all the shit he was feeling so did Fitz.
His thoughts slowly turned to Tom. He once trusts Tom with his life. Lately Tom's loyalty has been questionable. His sudden disappearing acts, his need for a second phone, and his sudden interest in women. To just speak truthfully, Fitz thought Tom was into men. He's never seen Tom entertain women all the years he's been working for him. Ten to be exact, so, one would only assume. He respected his men privacy and life outside of them working for him as long as it didn't interfere with what was required from them, but after coming to the US, Tom actions has become suspect.
His Livvie or pretty lady as he loves to refer to her as, has him feeling a way. Lying to her was never his intention, but to keep her safe he felt he had no other choice. Sharing everything he was into, doing, or feeling was something new to him. His newfound love for his uncle Tony was pure. He truly wanted to be there for him and his wife, but after spending time with him and around him, he started to see Tony for the deceptive and manipulative man he truly was. Veronica had no clue who her husband truly was. One thing was clear…he loved Veronica and now that Fitz had the chance to sit down with her and truly got to know her, he found that his ungrateful, selfish, money, power hungry uncle only cared about what he wanted out of life…and that was this unpredictable mob shit. It made him feel invincible. The power over people, politician, government, and anything that got in his way. He felt like he was God over everyone and everything, such a disappoint in Fitz eyes because no one man or women was more powerful than God Almighty. Even he knew that as bad as he was as a man in this fucked up world as a human being.
Fitz head was beginning to hurt from all the thinking he was doing in such a short amount of time. He messaged his temples as Diego opened his passenger door and slide into the comfortable leather seat.
Diego immediately notices his loaded gun on his leg as he got comfortable inside of the luxury vehicle. Fitz turns to him but did not speak so Diego spoke first. "Your suspensions were right."
"Which ones?" Fitz questions
"All of them." Diego confirms "Your uncle is not who you think he is. He has been contacting Tom on a burner phone that Tom has. I was able to intercept their conversation. I would rather you hear it for yourself." Diego informs
Fitz tries to remain calm after hearing that his own uncle put a hit out on his wife. He was taken back but not surprise at what he heard. He didn't think it was this deep, but he was wrong. He continued to listen to the recordings Diego shared with him. This of course brought out the killer instinct in him. He had been trying with everything inside of him not to allow that part of him to resurface. Olivia had calmed him and the killer inside of him. With her he was better, he was calmer, he was a lover not a killer. For this reason alone, he was humble to his wife. She was his sunshine, his brighter day, his calm, his peace.
Now all bets were off. The killer had been awakened, pushed to the forefront, called out of the shadows, threatened, and challenged. Now without a second thought, the darkness would answer. Every threat had to go, had to be eliminated, dealt with, and abolished. The love and mere existence of his family was in danger. That was something Fitz would not and could not take lightly. Everyone had to go. The Boss was resurfacing and taking control. All those who cause a threat had to be eliminated point, blank, period. "I figured out more."
"Keep going." Fitz humbly states
"Tom is a traitor. Godfather is a traitor. They are working together to force your hand. Godfather wants you back in Italy permanently to take over for him. He is weak after chemo and knows the others will push him out. He's using you to prevent that from happening. He's really committed to this shit. He's willing to sacrifice his relationship with you to make it all happen. He's been talking to Tom about his return to Cicely, permanently." Diego pauses and looks directly at Fitz.
Fitz frowns internally. He needed to know if his feelings are justified. "Hmph. I was hoping I was wrong."
"No, you're not wrong. Tom is an Op. He's working with Godfather to keep you in Italy. He wants you to return, but not be known as a traitor. Even though you gave all of us a choice to stay and he chose not to, he has changed his mind and chose this way to get out from under you when all he had to do was ask." Fitz nods but doesn't speak so Diego continues. "Tony has requested for Tom to kill Olivia."
Fitz heart drops into his nut sack. His head swivels in Diego's direction. "Yeah. That."
Fitz anger reaches boiling. "The Fuck! My wife?" Diego doesn't respond but Fitz didn't expect him to. "Is he still guarding Giulia?" Diego nods
"Is there more?"
"He went back to the clinic. I think he's wanting a different result then what the test may actually say. You get my drift?" Fitz nods and starts the truck and drive in the direction of the clinic.
Fitz calls Mark "Fitzgerald special." He announces.
"Hmm. One of our own?"
"Not sure, but very possible, more than likely yes."
"Which one?"
"American sweetheart…Blondie."
"Fuck! Really?"
"Sandbox days."
This statement took Mark back to the day he and Fitz were small children playing in the sand as children. He knew Fitz meant business. "You want me to take care of it?"
"Nope. This is personal. I will deal with him at the appropriate time. Stay on schedule. Meet me at the DNA clinic."
"Understood." Mark answers with certainty before hanging up.
Fitz releases a breath before sharing his plan with Diego. He agrees with his assignment and exits the car.
Fitz pulls away from the curb twenty minutes later parking at the DNA clinic he transforms into the Boss. He had no time for games. This shit needed to end now. He needed to know the truth of everything.
Once there, he and Diego head inside. "Hi, my name is Fitzgerald Grant and I'm here for my DNA results and would like to speak with Dr. Wilks personally if possible?"
The secretary nods and calls the doctor to inform him of Fitz's request. The doctor instructs the secretary to print out the results and inform Fitz that he's busy and cannot speak with him at this time.
Fitz not feeling an ounce of patients right now after the secretary share the doctors message waits until another patient is being called back to make his move. He walks right in behind her with Diego right on his tail. "Sir…Mr. Grant you can't go back there!" She iterates.
Fitz and Diego ignore her declaration and continues on his way. They make their way into Dr. Wilks office and find him sitting behind his desk. "Gentlemen, you can't be back here."
"I'm sorry sir, they just made their way back her without permission." The secretary confesses.
He waves her off and she walks away.
He already knew that this situation was way more powerful than he could ever get away from. "Mr. Grant, I have your results."
"Great but, if you are thinking about giving me the false result because of the foolish man who works for me pressured you to give me, then I suggest you keep it a buck with me and just save us both the time. Just give me the original results…not the bullshit you were probably threatened to present. See what you don't know is that the blond, tall, blue-eyed man that threatened you…works for me and is now considered a traitor and will be dealt with accordingly. I'm the Boss! I run this shit and I run him. He's a traitor. So, he's already dead. Now, tell me what threat he presented to you to make you change those DNA results?"
The doctor shuttered at Fitz knowledge of everything. He could tell by Fitz's body language he was truly a man of power and importance. "He put some child porn on my computer and five hundred thousand dollars in my personal account to frame me for trafficking children. I'm not a trafficker, nor do I hurt children. He said he could push a button and my life would be ruined. I would be arrest and charge for child sex trafficking, and the five hundred thousand in my personal account would connects me to all of it. I swear I have never done such a thing!"
Fitz nods to Diego and he moves behind the desk and begins typing on the doctor's laptop computer. Within moments of his typing, he declares "It's handled, the child porn is gone, and the money has been removed." Diego looks at the doctor "Check your bank account." The doctor checks his account. "Oh my god, thank you. How did you do it, never mind. Thank you. Are you sure the child porn gone too?" Diego nods
The look of seriousness on Fitz and Diego's face made him thankful and feeling bad for second guessing his decision of seeing them in person. "I'm…I…I." Fitz cuts him off. "The original results. Please."
The doctor scrambles to pull a file from his file cabinet. "I…umm, I have it here. Here you go sir. Just know you are not the child's father, but someone blood related is. All the markers indicate that. A brother, uncle, even your dad is a possibility. It's someone who shares your DNA sir, but it's definitely not you Mr. Grant."
Fitz nods "Look for a generous donation to your clinic soon. I will double the amount for you troubles. It will all be legal, I promise."
"Thank you, Mr. Grant. I'm sorry for all of this. I was pulled into this atrocity, I'm truly an honest man. Please forgive me. I don't need or want money from you."
Fitz assures him he no longer had to worry or concern himself with anything involving him or his visit to his clinic, but the money would be given to him regardless of his willingness or unwillingness to the entire situation.
Once outside they met up with Mark. He had taken position outside to ensure Fitz's safety. "We're going back to the hotel." Both Mark and Diego nod in understand

Tom stood watch by Giulia's door when Fitz and Mark approached. "You're relieved for the day. Mark will take this shift." Fitz declares. Tom nods and walks out of the hotel not knowing Diego was on his trail. Fitz walks inside of the hotel with the DNA results as Mark takes up position outside of the hotel room.
He finds Giulia in Franky's room watching him sleep. "Did he just go down for his nap?" Fitz quietly questions
"Yeah." Giulia answers lifting herself from his bed before walking out of his room into the living room area. Fitz follows her to the sofa and they both take a seat. "So, I have the results. Is there anything you want to tell me before I open this?"
"You didn't open it yet and read the results?"
"No. I wanted to give you the chance to come clean first." He states looking directly at her with seriousness.
She became nervous. The piercing blue eyes looking back at her brought on fear. She knew Fitz and his moods, along with body language. Something told her he knew the truth and what was in that envelope would determine whether she lived or died. Something on the inside of her told her to come clean and tell the truth. Tony wasn't here right now…Fitz was. She had already betrayed him and lied to him. If that envelope said what she thought, it did, and she lied; she was as good as dead, and her son would be and orphan.
She looks up at Fitz with sad eyes "Tony made me lie. Franky is Tony's son. Please don't kill me. Tony raped me at your home in Cicely. He caught me ciphering money from you and threatened to tell you unless I allowed him to fuck me. I was scared of him and you. I didn't think I had a choice, so I let him. I found out three months later that I was pregnant, but before I knew, you had found Olivia and I wanted to respect your relationship knowing I could never have you. I resigned, but you offered me a job instead. I had no intentions on interfering with you and Olivia's relationship. I decided to have my baby and just enjoy my life. You had moved here to the US. I was no longer on Tony's radar. I thought I was good. No one needed to know the paternity of my son and no one asked. I live a quiet life, and as far as I was concerned my son would know how he was conceived, explaining why I didn't list a father on his birth certificate. I would just tell him I didn't know who his father was. I figured one day I would meet someone who would step in as his father figure after we fell in love. I know it sounds cheesy but it's the truth."
"Keeping believing that Giulia, because someday it will happen for you." Fitz states as he stands to his feet. Giulia is unsure what to do or think. "You're not going to kill me?" Her question falls off trembling lips.
"No. I believe you. I understand why you lied, hell I would have lied too if I was a single woman out her with a child to protect."
Tears spilled from Giulia's eyes as disbelief covered the countenance of her face. She could only weep with relief.
"I'm going to take care of everything. It's up to you what you want to do. I will wire you two million dollars to your account. If you want to stay in the US so your son can grow up around his family, that would be ideal. My mother would be overjoyed to meet Franky, so before you decide an introduction is needed. I will have her call you."
"I want to stay in the US!" She blurted out.
"Okay. I will have my security team assure your safety. In the meantime, this is the number to my realtor. I have some connections with a few bankers. I'll put in a good word for you."
"Thank you. I…I don't know how to repay you, Fitz."
"Just live a good life and take care of yourself and your son."
"What about that guy who works for you. He's working with Tony. The one guarding me?"
"He will be handled. If Tony calls you just act normal. Tell him the DNA show me as Franky's dad. He will leave you alone after that. Don't mention staying in the US."
"Okay." She answers with a smile.
Fitz leaves out of the hotel and waits for Diego's call.

Liv was restless. The twins were still with her mother-in-law, and she had cleaned the condo and found herself missing her husband. She loved her new life with Fitz and her children. She hated his past and the thought of him going back to it. She was so scared that she would have to make the choice of leaving her marriage in order to protect herself and her children. Fitz was her everything, but their children were her world. She thought they were her husbands too. She prayed she wouldn't have to choose and that he felt the same way she did when it came to their family and love for one another. She wanted so bad to talk to someone about how she was feeling, but Abby, her mom and even her dad would probably have something negative to say about her husband. She wasn't ready or willing to hear nor deal with any of that at the moment, so instead she prayed before deciding to work in her office on the books before laying down for a nap.
She later decided to head to the grocery store and run a few errands since Anna had the twins. It killed time and kept her mind off her husband in his absence. After eating dinner alone, and facetiming with the twins, she decided to prep for bed. She couldn't understand the feeling of her husband's presence. It felt as if he was there with her. She could shake it, so she decided to check the home. She called out to him but got no answer. She finally chalked it up to her missing him and decided to give him a call. Surprisingly he answered on the first ring.
"Hi, pretty lady."
"Hi." She responds with a flutter in her heart. Her love for Fitz was explosive as her heart rate picked up. "I miss you."
"I miss you too. It won't be long before I'm home for good."
"You promised you would be home tonight. For a moment I thought you were actually here. It's as if I can feel you near me."
"I got a bit delayed, but I will be there when you wake. You have my word. Do you trust me?"
"Yes." She whispers.
"Then know that I would never intentionally lie to you. I will say this again, I will be there by the time you open yours eyes after a good night sleep my love."
"O…kay. I trust you Fitz. I will wait for you."
"Goodnight pretty lady. I love you."
"Goodnight my love. Same." They hang up and Liv get into the bed and drifts off to sleep still feeling the presence of her husband.
Until next time…Leave a review. What do you think is about to happened? Let me know….Keke
