Frieza and Goku were currently in the guest wing of the building their were staying in, Frieza could see it wasn't the King's palace.

The Saiyan ... Goku had been training none stop since they had got here and Frieza wasn't stupid, he had seen the Yardats and the way they were keeping an eye on them. He had gotten only a few hours of Rest before Goku dragged him out with him to train, luckily he had been easily distracted and left Frieza to his own devices soon after.

He had noticed that a lot of the Yardats were observing Goku but he wanted to know why they were watching him as well. Did they know who he was, surely not because no one had ever seen this form and frost demons were rare too, maybe that's why they were watching him closely?

Goku had been training since he got here, finding a peaceful planet had been quite a shock before he wanted to go back to training. But there was something more, these beings seemed to be hiding something. He could sense their ki, he and Frieza's far surpassed them but there felt like there was something more. After his training session, he was going to ask them about it because they didn't seem too bothered about them requesting stuff before.

But what mostly had Goku's attention was Frieza, the former tyrant he hoped was just standing there by the side of the room with his arms folded and eyes closed but he could tell he was paying attention to everything around him. That gave the Saiyan time to admire his beauty, no longer obstructed by the faint light in a Saiyan pod, the flashes of light of a dying planet or blinded by rage. The light coming through the windows only served to highlight it more, the strength behind that beauty was terrifying but that only seemed to draw the Saiyan in more.

He slowly stopped his workout and just stared at him for a while till Frieza's eyes opened and looked back at him. They stared at each other in a comfortable license for a while before Goku asked something he had been wanting to know for a while. "Why did you do it?" there wasn't a coldness to it or hate in the question Frieza could tell that much and he knew it was going to come eventually. "I was born into it" he replied back without much emotion in the statement, he pushed himself off the wall and walked towards Goku with his tail swinging behind him till he stood in front of him still having to look up at the Saiyan.

"I simply found joy in the life I knew much like how Saiyans found joy in the conquest of planets" Goku shook off his stupor "but not all Saiyans were like that and you could have decided to be a better person." Frieza let out a small chuckle even as the confused look on Goku's face turned into a glare "When my father found the Saiyans they were perfectly happy killing each other among others in the universe, my research on the first super Saiyan says that's when he first appeared."

"And on the matter of becoming good, what does it mean to be good when you've been raised committing acts of terror ... Evil is only a matter of perspective and I won't deny that I am but from my point of view you might be as well." Goku lost his stern glare "but haven't you had someone actually care for you?" Frieza actually took a moment to think about it, his father never counted having only been there to shape him into the perfect successor but he had a brother once.

"There once was a time i had a brother, I had only met him a few times ... he despised me i could tell because i was born to be his replacement ... he even tried to get me to join his cause against father but that only led to his banishment, he would think me a naive fool." Goku just quietly kept listening as Frieza talked more about his family and the empire till he decided it was time to interrupt. "Sounds like you really were born into it and i might need to take care of your dad too" Frieza just shrugged "do what you must Sai ... Goku, but my father is the true embodiment of evil after all he began this whole crusader of ours."

Goku just nodded "it sounds like what happened with Piccolo" Frieza just gave him a blank stare, "oh ... the namekian that was with us." Frieza vaguely remembered killing the being a while ago "oh that being, what about him?" Goku tried his best to move past the point where Krillin died because they had managed to revive everyone he killed on the planet. "He had a father like yours King Piccolo, he was pure evil and for a while, i thought Piccolo was the same because when he was born he did some evil stuff" "but because we couldn't kill him because he was linked to the dragon balls, we had time to see there was more to him."

"So you believe me to be the same as this ... Namekian?" Goku just nodded, Frieza didn't know whether to be flattered by Goku's insulation or insulted that he was compared to a simple Namekian. "If you believe it so then you are free to do so," Frieza said with a scoff and Goku just replied with a smile.

"By the way Frieza, did you notice how the Yardats have been watching us?" Frieza gave the area a quick once over "Glad you noticed too, i would have thought myself paranoid." Goku could sense some of them close by "I feel there's something more to them too ... like a hidden power." That immediately made Frieza perk up "how can you tell that? i didn't see a scouter during our whole outing." Goku just laughed a lot much to Frieza's annoyance, till he stopped "oohhh i forgot other people don't know how to sense energy."

Frieza was surprised by the news, he knew the weaker beings he had met on Namek and some of these Saiyans acted differently as if they operated without Scouters. "So you can sense energy without Scouters?" he asked to which Goku replied with a nod "Fascinating ... can you sense my energy?"

"Yes, that's how i was able to tell you had more when we were fighting" that revelation was shocking but what was more shocking was that it unveiled the Saiyan knew his power and fought his and remembering his cocky nature the likely answer was that he knew he surpassed Frieza in power during their fight. That sent a cold shiver done his spine which Goku seemed to notice "you okay there ?" He just nodded steadfast before turning about and returning to the wall without uttering another word to Goku, he needed to rest on this information for a while.

Goku could tell Frieza was done talking for now and from the way he sensed his Ki fluctuate when they talked about them fighting, he had a vague idea of what had upset him.

Before he could needle down on it a voice boomed in his head "GOKU! GOKU! IT'S KING KAI, FRIEZA IS ALIVE ... I REPEAT, FRIEZA IS ALIVE." He knew that he had a lot of explaining to do, but one truth stayed true, everyone wasn't ready to know.
