Hey Guys and Gals, CMBasher7 back with Chapter 4 of Yuya Sakaki, Rise of the Duelist Shield Hero(s). I have heard your comments wanting more Duel Monsters to appear instead of one at a time, well then, ask and you shall receive.
This Chapter will be a somewhat short one, who knows, it depends on if I forget where to stop writing or if I want it to go on for a while, whichever comes first really.
I don't own anything from The Rising of the Shield Hero or Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, they and anything I write belongs to their respective owners and creators.
With that said and done, let's start the fourth Chapter of Yuya Sakaki, Rise of the Duelist Shield Hero(s).

Previously on, Yuya Sakaki, Rise of the Duelist Shield Hero(s)...
"Hey, do you know of any spots here that are nearby where we can earn a lot of money?" Yuya asks the Street Merchant.
"Hmm..." The Street Merchant hums looking back at the mine. The Four Dimensional Reincarnations and Raphtalia followed his line of sight. "Well, now that you mention it, the ore coming out of the mines outside the walls oughta fetch a decent amount..."
"But..." The Street Merchant says, knowing that this guy may have a difficult time even with the Demi-Human girl help.
"Ever since the First Wave hit, it has became home to a bunch of dangerous monsters. These days nobody even dares themselves to go near the place." The Street Merchant informs them.
...
"Grrrrrrrr..." Something growled right behind them, Yuya and his counterparts quickly turned around and saw something walking out with 4 glowing red eyes on two heads and bared razor-sharp teeth at them.
Steeping out of it's den-like cave tunnel was a massive, blackish-gray, two-headed dog whose heads reminded Yuya of a Rottweiler dog. It appeared to be just as tall as his friend, Gong, back home.
...
Just as the Two-Headed hounds reached Raphtalia, she closed her eyes awaiting death, but suddenly, out of nowhere, the Orthrus was suddenly bodied away from Raphtalia by a even larger creature.
After a couple of seconds, Raphtalia slowly opened her eyes, thinking that the Two-Headed Black Dog was standing over her, toying with her emotion of hope and relief. But when she did open her eyes, she was greeted by something that made her look on in shocked awe.
Because standing in-front of her, was a massive creature that was even taller than the Orthrus in front of her. The creature stood up on two massive and muscular legs with large 4-digit toes. It's skin, from what she could see, was a dark scarlet color and it's head, neck, arms, back, legs, feet, and tail were covered in red armor as it's calves, stomach, fingers, jaw were covered in whiteish peach armor along with it's two horns on it's head that had an orange glow inside them and it's two large spike-like wings on the creatures' back, which had 2 green orbs on it's right "wing" and 1 larger red orb on it's left "wing. It's face was covered by half a golden mask covering it's upper mouth and it's right side. It's claws on it's 5-digit hands were gold. At it's center was a massive blue orb inside the white armor on it's stomach. It's legs, once again, were large and massive, likely built for running long distances in a short amount of time. The most strangest thing about this creature, which Raphtalia assumed was a Dragon, was it's Odd eyes, it had a green left eye, a red right eye and at the center of it's forehead was a small blue orb.
...
Raphtalia leaps off of the rock that Yuya, Odd-Eyes, and herself were on that the Dragon took them to, and jumps up high into the air and come down with her sword aiming for the head biting Yuya's shoulder.
"NOOOOOOOO!" Raphtalia screams as she plunges her sword into the second head of the Orthrus' eye.
"GRRAAAAAAAAAAAA!" The Second Head of the Orthrus howls in pain as it immediately let's go of Yuya's shoulder to howl in pain at the lost of it's eye.
Raphtalia was launched a couple of feet away after she had stabbed the Two-Headed Hound in the eye. The beast then turns it's attention to Raphtalia, focus on getting it's revenge.
"AIR STRIKE SHIELD!" Yuya shouted having swapped his shield to [Rope Shield], Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon stayed even after he swapped his shields.
The green shield appeared in front of Raphtalia blocking the attack by the Two-Headed Hound.
"NOW, RAPHTALIA!" Yuya shouted for her to attack now.
"HHHHYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Raphtalia shouted as she attacked and stabbed the beast in-between the Two-Headed Hound's neck and at the center of it's chest.
...
"Promise me you won't ever die! Don't leave me alone, Master Yuya--please!" Raphtalia cried out.
Yuya just gives a comforting smile and places a gentle hand on her head, reassuring her that he won't leave her.
"As long as you are my sword, then I swear that I shall always be your shield." Yuya tells her.

We start the intro with Yuya, Motoyasu, Itsuki, and Ren being first summoned to Melromarc, but they all wore their own armors as Yuya flicked his white cloak away revealing Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri's spirits standing right behind him.
The Legendary Sword's blue orb glows in Ren's hand.
The Legendary Bow's yellow orb glows in Itsuki's hand.
The Legendary Spear's red orb glows in Motoyasu's hand.
The Legendary Shield's green orb glows as Yuya opens his eyes revealing the skin around his eyes cracked and having a combination of crimson red, grey, blueish-green, and purple color in both eyes.
We get a bird's eye-view of Castle Town as we pan across the main castle of Melromarc.
We cut to Yuya covering his eyes with his Shield as Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri all stand behind him with Yugo grinning happily, Yuto is giving a smirk, and Yuri just rolls his eyes as they all look out on top of a cliff.
Yuya, along with Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri are walking along side a bridge. We then transition to Raphtalia as she walks pasts cell bars. She runs towards the bars and reaches a hand out, like she was trying to find someone to help her escape.
We cut to Ren landing, before getting back up and striking a pose as Starving Venom Fusion Dragon appears behind Ren with Ren's party members.
We cut again to Itsuki entering a dive roll before pulling back an arrow as Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon appears and is charging in the same direction as the bow alongside Itsuki's party members.
We cut again to Motoyasu running along as Myne runs past him, he stops and strikes a pose as Clear Wing Synchro Dragon appears high above and is looking down at the reader with Motoyasu's party members appearing on both his left and right side.
We cut one more time to Yuya as Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri all surround Yuya as Yugo gives him a noogie, Yuto just has his arms crossed over one another and a warm determined smile on his face, while Yuto is just slightly far away from them with a smirk on his face as Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon runs towards Yuya as he smiles and jumps up and rides on the back of his Ace Pendulum Monster.
We cut to Myne leaning against the Throne with King Aultcray sitting in his throne. Myne smiles evilly as she grabs the camera before cutting to Yuya walking away.
We cut to Yuya falling down some stairs as he slams his back against some cell bars.
Raphtalia's Slave Crest begins to glow purple gaining both her and Yuya's attention.
We cut to a massive and ornate gold with red crystals hourglass as sands falls between each of the hourglasses glass, but when the last one fell a powerful and massive golden light was emitted from the hourglass.
We cut to a hoard of viscous monsters as the sky turns a frightening blood red color as swirls appear above the clouds.
A female figure appears standing on top of the mast of a boat, looking down watching and analyzing the Heroes.
Yuya and Raphtalia both reach out between the bars to try and grab each other. We catch a glimpse of the Legendary Shield's Skill tree.
The cells keeping Yuya and Raphtalia apart breaks as Raphtalia suddenly ages up, despite Yuya not aging a single bit.
Ren slices a monster in half with the help of his Sword, his Party Members, and Yuri's Predaplants, who were consuming weaker monsters left to right.
Itsuki dodges a volley of arrows as he runs up a cliff with the help of Yuto's Phantom Knights and Itsuki's party members acting as covering fire to help support him as he fires arrows at multiple opposing monsters.
Motoyasu leaps into the air as he uses the Legendary Spear to stab a series of monsters before he lands on top of Hi-Speedroid Clear Wing Rider and drives off to kill more monsters with Myne, his party members, and Yugo's Speedroids.
We cut Erhard, Beloukas, and many other people we have never even met yet in Melromarc as a cloak figure watches from behind and in the shadow, there was a sudden golden light that emanated from around his torso.
Before we cut to 2 women who look of royalty, a young girl with blue hair tied in pigtails and an older woman with purple hair who's face looks suspiciously like Myne's but at the same time isn't. Behind them are a series of people wearing Domino masks and black hoods.
We cut to Raphtalia pulling a sword out as Yuya holds back a monster as his Performapals who help both him and Raphtalia out-maneuver many monsters attacks or even lower or switch their opponents stats or strengthen their own, as Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon bites down on a monster that was about to attack it's master from behind. Yuya and Raphtalia's teamwork is working amazingly well, covering each other's weaknesses and using each other's strength to help one another. We can even see what can only be seen as large animal gladiators fighting alongside the Performapals, Yuya, Raphtalia, and Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon.
Yuya blocks another monster's attack as a little girl with blonde hair and wings rushes out into the battlefield, she flies up and transforms into a large bird and takes down a series of monsters with wind attacks and kicks.
A hand opens up a fan and unleashes a series of attacks at Yuya, the bird, and Raphtalia as Yuya pulls his shield up to block the attacks.
As Yuya lowers it slightly to look, he transforms his shield into [Odd-Eyes (Pen.) Dragon Shield] as he and Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, both unleash a devastating combined "Spiral Flame Strike" attack together at both the floating woman with fans and the wave of monsters at once.
The screen goes white as we slowly cut back to Yuya, Yugo, Yuri, and Yuto walking along a path as Raphtalia walks way behind them.
They all look behind them, except Yuri, and motion for her to pick up the pace and join them. She smiles happily and runs to give Yuya a hug, who graciously takes it, before quickly cutting back to Raphtalia holding onto Yuya's arm as he has tears forming in his eyes.
Yuto, Yugo, Yuri all appear behind Yuya as they, Raphtalia, and the large bird hold onto him as Yuya unleashes a more stronger variant of [Spiral Flame Strike] at his opponent.
We see the title, which has the Legendary Weapons at the NorthEast, NorthWest, SouthEast, and SouthWest corners with the Four Dimensional Dragons surrounding the North, East, South and West directions.
"YUYA SAKAKI, RISE OF THE DUELIST SHEILD HERO(S)"
With Yuya, Yuto, Yugo, Yuri, and Raphtalia, a week later...
We start the story in an open field of tall grass right next to a forest. It's almost quiet, too quiet.
"WAIT!" The voice of Raphtalia shouted, but it sounded... different, older actually.
A silver claw landed on the ground, a pair of gold fangs chomped down... but they don't seem to be attacking each other or belong to the same species, they seem to be helping one another along with someone else.
A pair of brown very hairy feet scuttle as it was chased by Raphtalia and the beasts with silver claws and golden fangs.
Yuya is seen sitting on a rock looking at a broken quill of some kind that is embedded in his arm. The quill looks like it belongs to a porcupine, but it isn't curved and is in fact very sharp, like a needle.
"We're making great progress." Yuya says as Yuto, Yugo, and Yuriare sitting next to him.
"To think we've only been here for a week." Yugo says with a smile as he looks out at the field of tall grass.
It's true, it HAD only been at least a week since he and Raphtalia had killed the Interdimensional Orthrus that had made it's den inside Lute Village's mine. After they had cleared the mine of it's, "more than normal" dangerous monsters, out as well as sell some of the ores they had collected, they had received 70 silvers as promised from the Village at the end of the day.
"Come back here!" Raphtalia shouted swinging her sword at whatever monster she is trying to kill. The beasts with silver claws and golden fangs aren't having much luck either.
Yuya then pulls the quill out of his skin, wincing at the pain as blood spreads from his white cloak, he sighs knowing he has to clean and repair his armor, again.
He then absorbs the quill into his shield, allowing him to unlock a new shield.
Over the past 7 days, he has unlocked many new shields on his travels with Raphtalia, and over the week, he had reached Level 16 and Raphtalia had reached Level 18. He also obtained a few more shields for his collection.
From absorbing a pipe, a broken glass from a mirror, plucking and absorbing a flower petal, and a lily pad, he had unlocked 4 new shields to use.

From Monsters and Animals, he has 3 new shields. One from a Butterfly, the second from the Sky Eggug, and the newest one being the quill.

"Man, we unlocked so many new shields and abilities that we've practically lost count of them all." Yugo says, looking at the many shields they have obtained.
"No, It's mostly YOU that has lost count, GoSlow." Yuri says messing up Yugo's name, again.
"Grrrr, It's YUGO! YOU-GO! How is it that hard to get it right?!" Yugo shouted at Yuri.
Yuri placed a hand on his chin and hummed in thought. He then looked at Yugo with a smirk plastered on his face. "Very."
"You are unbelievable." Yugo deadpans at Yuri's response.
"Thank you." Yuri says to Yugo taking his compliment.
"But we still let our guard down with that Porcupine, and we got hurt." Yuya said stopping Yugo and Yuri's conversation. Reminding them of how they got injured.
Previously moments ago...
Moments ago, not even that long ago, we see Yuya was in the forest looking through his list of shields with Yuto, Yuri, and Yugo. His shield was in it's [Duel Disk (Crimson) Shield] form.
Suddenly, the bush's leaves to Yuya's right side began to shake and rattle, like there was something that was inside them and was about to jump out.
And indeed, something did jump out of the bushes. It was a brown fur porcupine-like monster with buck teeth and asymmetrical and hideous sharp teeth.
It curled up into a ball and attacked Yuya, it stuck a quill of it's own into Yuya's arm, causing him to bleed.
Back to the Present...
"Master Yuya!" The voice sounding like an older Raphtalia's called out, gaining the Duelist's attention.
Yuya turned and saw the Porcupine coming out of the grass and heading right towards Yuya. Yuya used the [Inspect] ability to check the information of the monster. No surprise it showed that it was called a Porcupine and was a Level 23.
"SHIELD PRISON!" Yuya shouted transforming his shield to it's [Pipe Shield] form and using it's ability, when it was captured in the prison some of its quills broke off.
A pair of leather boots ran towards the ball of chain links and metal platings. Alongside the leather boots, was two wolf-like beasts paws, one wolf with silver fur and long silver claws and the other with gold fur that had cuffs with broken chains on it's front paws.
After 30 seconds, the ball opened up, momentarily releasing the Porcupine. The two wolves lunged at the Porcupines limbs to hold the monster down.
Biting down on the Porcupine's back left leg, was a mid-sized wolf with gold and yellow fur. It wore a red vest with a blue bowtie with white spots, and around it's neck was a puffy brown mane. The wolf's ear has two silver earrings on it's right ear. On it's right cheek was a big red star under it's green eyes. The wolf also has orange hair that is styled almost like an emo, covering only it's right side. The gilded wolf's fangs were all gold, not plated with gold, but looked to actually be made of gold.

And piercing through the Porcupines right front arm, was another mid-sized wolf just like Performapal Gold Fang, but it instead had silver fur instead of gold. Around its neck was a blue mane at the front was a red bowtie with yellow dots. Sticking out of it's blue mane was two chain links sticking out of it's mane along with a tattered cloth. The silver wolf ear has golden piercings on it's left ear. On it's left cheek, was an orange star under it's blue eyes. It's hair was styled upwards and looked very spiky and seemed to be pointing to the left side. It's claws were long and seemed to be made of actual silver, just like Gold Fang's fangs.

As the Porcupine was struggling to get itself free of Silver Claw and Gold Fang, a feminine figure had already jumped up into the air and brought down her sword onto the monster, killing it.
Yuya saw a yellow notification, he had gained [205 Exp] whilst the lady with him gained [285 Exp].
'The Wave is almost here.' Yuya thought to himself as he looked over his stats as he gained some Exp. He then looked over at his bleeding arm. 'I think it's about time that we both upgrade our equipment.'
"I really liked this armor, but you're right. We need better armor." Yugo agreed with Yuya. "Maybe we can upgrade your armor again."
"MASTER YUYA! YUTO! YUGO! YURI!" The voice sounding like a teen Raphtalia called out.
Yuya looked over to the voice and gave a warm smile as he looked to the owner of the voice.
The voice did belong to Raphtalia, but something was a little different with her. Okay, a lot actually. Over the last 7 days, Raphtalia's appearance has changed drastically. When Yuya first got her, she was a young and sick child.
But now, she had become a grown women around Yuya's age, much to his disbelief. Her hair nearly perfectly framed her face. Her armor that covered all of her before, now showed most of her legs as she simply grew beyond it. Yuya tried his best to ignore her very feminine features, but he could not deny their existence. Most importantly to Yuya though, she looked strong and healthy. Few would believe the state she was in just a week prior
"I did it!" Raphtalia giggled as she looked at Master Yuya with a happy smile on her face.
Gold Fang and Silver Claw let out an angered bark at Raphtalia giving herself all the credit.
Raphtalia heard them and walked over to the gold and silver wolves and sheathed her knife.
"You did help me too, Silver Claw and Gold Fang. I would have some difficulty without you pinning the Porcupine down." Raphtalia said with a smile as she gave the two metal colored wolves a scratch behind their ears.
Silver Claw's and Gold Fang's tails wagged side-to-side rapidly in joy of being scratched behind their ears. They let out happy barks and howls.
"You seem to like your praises, guys." Yuya chuckled as he walked over next to Raphtalia. "But it's time to return."
Performapal Gold Fang and Silver Claw gave Yuya the double whammy, the twin Puppy Dog eyes.
"Don't give me that." His monsters eyes somehow got more sadder than before. "Fine. But you'll only take us near the gates and then you're returning."
Silver Claw and Gold Fang gave Yuya a happy smile with their tongues hanging out before they leapt at their Duelist Master and gave him joyous licks on his face.
"Hey! Hey! Cut it out! Ha Ha Ha! Stop it!" Yuya said before he started laughing at how his wolves tongues were tickling his face.
Raphtalia looked at Yuya and gave a soft chuckle as her face turned a soft red looking at her Master being happy.
Erhard Blacksmith Shop, Castle Town...
After Yuya had escaped his Performapal wolves kisses, he and Raphtalia had rode Silver Claw and Gold Fang near the gates into Castle Town, and Yuya returned his monsters back into his Deck. The two then made their way over to Erhard's shop to get some supplies.
As Yuya entered the shop with Raphtalia right behind him, Erhard seemed to be beaming as he heard the two enter his shop.
"How are you doing Erh-" Erhard went to grab his stick to measure Raphtalia, but stopped as soon as he saw her.
"The hell? This beautiful lass is that kid you bought?" Raphtalia chuckled, taking the compliment well. Yuya was less enthusiastic.
"She has grown quite a lot. And Her eating has slowed down. I'm surprised by how beautiful she has become." He did what he could to ignore the 'beautiful' comment from Erhard on Raphtalia. He immediately realized what he said with the last one and blushed, he quickly covered his face with his hand.
"Thank you for the compliment, Boss!" Raphtalia did her best to ignore Yuya's compliment, she failed with a soft blush on her face.
"I hardly recognized her!" Erhard said with a smile seeing how much Raphtalia has grown. "You turned into a pretty little lady."
"How did this happen?" Yuya asked how did Raphtalia age up so quickly.
"Well , I didn't want to tell you but as demihumans level up at a fast pace while young, their bodies and minds mature to be able to better use their stats." Erhard tells Yuya.
"So... I just took away her own childhood from her?" Yuya seemed genuinely upset at this information.
"If that's how you want to look at it, but that doesn't take years off her life or anything like that. It just means what she wants and how she thinks will change rapidly until she reaches young adulthood. So..." He gave Yuya a look he didn't quite understand, "Raise her right. If she grows up to be as depressing as you, it's on you."
Yuya understood the attempt at brevity, but caught himself feeling very conscious about some of the things he'd done or said around her. He gave a short glace toward her of which she smiled back.
He sat the stick back down and walked back behind his counter. "So with that out of the way now, what do you two need from me today?"
"Uh, I'm just here to get-" Yuya spoke, but Raphtalia interrupted him, telling Erhard what Yuya needs.
"Yuya-sama is in desperate need of armor! Just look at him. If not for the shield you'd have no idea he was suppose to be a legendary hero." Raphtalia said.
Yuya went to say something to her, but she was having none of it and spoke.
"You just got hurt in the plains, or did you forget?" Raphtalia asked Yuya.
"Of course not, but you need a weapon as we--" Yuya spoke, but Raphtalia interrupted him again.
"Master Yuya-sama..." She then pulled a sword from the wall and it's sheath, and drew it to full length in a threatening manner, Yuya and Erhard looked at Raphtalia with shocked expressions.
"If you don't take this seriously, you will die." She said. Yuya had sweat dripping from his head.
Yuya couldn't tell how much of that was a good-natured warning and how much of it was an actual threat. It had amazed him actually. Sure, she looked... older. The thing that amazed him though, was her attitude. She seemed bright, out-going, and incredibly brave. He had trouble recalling the crying child he had to hold as she slept, though he still held her while they slept.

...
...
So, after a short while, he gave in, and let out a tired sigh.
"*sigh* You're right, but I only want my clothes to be upgraded again like last time, but I don't want them to be changed too drastically, just something that is recognizable, but also efficient for me." Yuya tells Erhard what he wants for his armor.
"I'll see what I can do." Erhard said. "I'll probably add more armor to your chest, shoulders, and arms and make the leggings more movement based whilst covering you from attacks at it's own weak points." He tells Yuya. Who gives a nod of confirmation.
"Thankfully, I've kept the clothes from the Chain Mail." Yuya said as he swung his backpack, opened it up, and pulled out the [Chain Mail Armor]'s tunic as he plan to wear them as Erhard upgrade his clothes. He used the changing room to change into the Chain Mail clothes temporarily.
After a couple of minutes of waiting and looking through the weapons, Erhard returned with an even better version of the [Dueltainer Clothes I (Upgraded)] armor.
The new armor looked almost like the previous one, but their was some changes that one could see if they paid attention to it closely. For one, the leggings now looked more streamlined than normal armor leggings, Yuya's Rollerboots stayed mostly the same. There was armor now on Yuya's arms that didn't have armor before with the older model. The chest plate was red at the top, with a blue orb in middle, a green emerald on the right side and a red ruby on the left covered by gold platings covering the left side, the underside of the chest with plate is a whiteish-peach color. Yuya figured that Erhard got the chest plate design from Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon.

As Yuya looked at his upgraded clothes, Erhard smiled at his work, happy to make better armor for the Pendulum Duelist/ Shield Hero, Raphtalia had stars in her eyes as she looked at Yuya with awe and amaze by how amazing he looks.
"I love the armor, and the stats and effects are amazing, better than before actually. And I see you based the chest plate on my Odd-Eyes." Yuya said looking at Erhard. The man chuckled as he rubbed the back of his head with a grin.
"How much for this sword, Boss?" Raphtalia asked, she had inspected the sword as Erhard made Yuya's upgrade to his clothes and as he put them on. She noticed that the sword was sharper than the knife she first had from here.
"Why? Do you want to try and feel it for yourself?" Erhard asked Raphtalia curiously. She nodded her head.
"Then how about, 5 silvers for now, because you're friends with the kid." Erhard suggested. Raphtalia gave Erhard a joyous smile.
"Speaking of friends, did you find any new future party members as of late?" Erhard suddenly asked Yuya out of nowhere.
"Eh, Future party members?" Yuya hadn't even considered that possibility happening.
"Maybe if I buy another slave..." He glanced to Raphtalia. They seemed to have a wordless conversation. At the end of which, Yuya already found the answer. 'No, It wouldn't be right of me to do that again, but maybe after this I could ask Beloukas to treat them better than how they are now.'
Yuya finally responded. "No, I didn't find any new party members. I have no idea when I might get a new party member..."
"True, your situation is less than ideal considering the ru-"
"Anyways!" Yuya didn't want Raphtalia to hear about those rumors. He didn't want her to fear him like everyone else did.
"Will you have enough time to make Raphtalia armor for us before the next Wave hits?" Yuya asked the Blacksmith.
Erhard looked at him, dumbstruck. "W-what? Kid! Are you telling me you don't know!?"
"Know what?" Yuya was confused on what Erhard was now talking about.
"Kid. Go to the big church near the center of town. They have this huge hourglass inside that can tell you when the next Wave will hit." Erhard tells him. "When the last grain of sand inside it falls, the heroes and their parties will be sent to wherever the Wave begins. Least, that's what I hear."
"Thanks for the directions, and the new armor?" Yuya thanked Erhard for where to go and how long Raphtalia's armor would take to make.
"Thankfully, I had made some armor way before you guys arrived." Erhard tells them and shows the two of them the new armor he made. One was big and looked to be built for a Tanker like Yuya's position as a Shield Hero.
"Not my style, plus I already got the upgrade." Yuya said with a deadpanned expression.
"I don't think it'll help me with my mobility, Boss." Raphtalia kindly declined the armor.
"No problem, I can whip something up as fast as I can for you, missy." Erhard says. "Custom-made free just for you."
"For me?! Really!" Raphtalia said with a smile. "Thank you, Boss."
"Just as long as you don't mind me using whatever materials I've got on hand at the moment, I can finish by tommorow morning." Erhard tells Raphtalia.
Raphtalia then ran and held Erhard's hand and then used her most dangerous weapon, which wasn't her sword, but her cuteness.
"Please. Please do!" Raphtalia said with the cutest eyes that even Yuya couldn't resist saying no to.
At the Tavern...
Yuya and Raphtalia, after paying for the former's armor upgrade and Raphtalia's new Magic Iron sword, the two left the Blacksmith's shop to get something to eat and then after that they would be heading over to the Church tomorrow.
"It was nice of him to give me a discount on this sword." Raphtalia said with a smile as she followed Yuya to their table.
"Yeah, nice of him." Yuya said with a sweat-dropped expression on his face. 'It's not like you used your eyes to guilt trip him...'
"He was so sweet to help us like that. Don't you think?" Raphtalia asked Yuya and his counterparts.
"Yeah, really sweet." Yuto sweat-dropped with a deadpan expression.
The sound of a stomach growling in hunger was heard throughout the Tavern. Yuya, Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri all turned their heads to Raphtalia with raised eyebrows.
"T-That wasn't me! I swear!" She weakly protested.
"Yeah... we know. It was me. I can barely even taste anything here, but I just have to eat..." Yuya sighed with teary eyes as his stomach continued to growl. He really wanted his Mom's delicious Pancake Sandwich.
"You can barely taste anything?" Raphtalia seemed concerned from hearing that.
"It's fine, let's just eat." Yuya said as he sat down at their table with Raphtalia sitting next to him. The two waited to be served lunch.
Thankfully, they didn't need to wait long as the waiter arrived to their table, he had a kind smile on his face. Probably because Yuya and Raphtalia sold Inn's and Tavern's Monsters parts like UsaMeat and PikyuPikyu Thighs to them, allowing them to make more food.
"What would you two couples like to order?" The Waiter asked, what he thought were a pair of couples, seems like he was new here and thankfully didn't discriminate the Shield Hero or the Demi-Human next to him.
"E-Eh?!" Yuya and Raphtalia shrieked in surprise with both of their faces now red as Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon's armor.
"W-We're not dating?!" Yuya stuttered with a flustered face.
"Oh!" The Waiter said surprised by this info. "My apologizes, I thought you two were on a date." He apologizes to them. "So what will you two order today."
"I'll have the cheapest lunch set that you have here, and she'll have the children's lunch set." Yuya tells the waiter.
But, Raphtalia didn't want to be having none of that.
"Master Yuya-sama. I am not a kid anymore. Why do you insist on treating me like this?" She had a problem with being treated like a child, but didn't complain about being his slave had Yuya a bit tilted in confusion. "I'll also get the cheapest lunch set, too, and make it quick!"
"R-Right away." The Waiter stuttered before leaving to get their food ready.
After the waiter left the Shield Hero and the Demi-Human's table, Yuya turned to look at Raphtalia.
"It's just the same amount of food and it looked like it'd taste better." Yuya tells her. "Besides you don't need to force yourself to grow-up."
"Uh, I'm not forcing it!" She denied.
"Yuya-sama... what would it take for you to see me as an adult? What would I have to do?" She seemed genuine. She always seemed genuine.
Yuya was getting flustered. He had held her as she cried as a child, not even a few days ago. He had bought her a toy, and patted her head... She was a child and he treated her as one... but now? She was looking and sometimes acting like an adult. Other than knowledge, there wasn't much of a difference... maybe a lack of maturity, sure, but- He was just making up excuses, wasn't he? She had grown up faster than he could adjust to. He felt like this was his fault, wasn't it?
He decided to be a little genuine too, "Sorry. I guess I don't want to give up on the idea that you are a child... you being here with me, it helps me not be angry all the time. It's almost therapeutic to me."
Raphtalia had been with Yuya for only a couple of days, but she could tell he was opening up a little bit to her here and she needed to encourage that. "I see. But I can help in different ways than before. Not as a child, but as an adult. I can find a different way to help comfort you."
Yuya's face was now heavily blushing at her unintentional implications. 'She's a child! She's a child! She's a child!'
Raphtalia was left out of the loop as to what caused him to react in this manner. She took his arm and held it to her. "Did I say something wrong?"
Yuya felt his arm against her chest 'She's not a child! She's not a child! She's not a child!'
"N-no. It's fine, j-just order whatever you like." Yuya stuttered as his face was as red as a tomato like his own hair.
Yuto, Yugo, Yuri all chuckled at Yuya's reaction to Raphtalia hugging his arm.
Tomorrow Morning...
"How do you like the armor?" Erhard asked Raphtalia what she thought of her new armor.
"It's perfect! You did an amazing work, Boss!" Raphtalia thanked Erhard as she looked over her new armor.
Raphtalia's newly made armor, while it looked the same as before, it did have a few additions and enhancements. It no longer looked like the cheap starter gear she had prior. She had armored boots and leather gauntlets as her only real wardrobe additions. Her armor appeared to be able to hold 10 or more throwing knives.
"You look more like a hero than me." Yuya tells her, making her blush at the compliment.
"Th-Thank you, Master Yuya." Raphtalia said with a flustered smile on her face.
Suddenly, Yuya, Yuto, Yugo, Yuri, Raphtalia, and Erhard all heard the sound of horses neighing out in the street.
"Hm?" Yuya, Raphtalia, Erhard, Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri said looking at where the sound of horses were coming from.
They saw knights of the castle on horse-back, traveling down the streets. Everyone seemed to be on edge now than before.
"It's clear that everyone here is on edge now." Raphtalia said, speaking what every town's person there was feeling right now.
"That seems to be the case, the Wave's is about to arrive, if I wasn't said to be the Shield Hero I would be just as worried as them." Yuya spoke, agreeing with Raphtalia and the towns-folks worry.
"We'll need to head to the Church now and register for the Wave. See you later Erhard!" Yuya says his goodbyes to Erhard as Raphtalia follows right behind with Yuya's 3 other counterparts.
The Church of the Four Heroes...
Yuya, Yuto, Yugo, Yuri and Raphtalia all made their way to the Church, and thanks to Erhard directions, it wasn't hard that hard to locate the Church in Castle Town. The first thing that Yuya, Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri noticed was that there was a symbol on the front of the Church.
The symbol consisted of a bow, a sword, a spear and behind them all was a shield. Apparently, even this place's religion worshipped the Cardinal Heroes as divine holy entities.
"Hello, what may we do for you, Hero of the Shield?" A Nun at the front door kindly asked Yuya and Raphtalia. Around her neck, was a pendant of a Sword, a Spear, and a Bow, but oddly no Shield despite it being on the front of the building.
"We're just here to register for the Wave is all and we'll be out of your hairs." Yuya tells the Nun, treating her religion with upmost respect.
"Follow me." The Nun said giving a bow. Yuya and Raphtalia followed behind her, and stayed quiet not wanting to disrupt the Priests and Nuns here.
The inside of the Church was, in the most literal way, all white, the bricks were white, the columns were white, even the floor and roof were white.
"Come this way." The Nun instructed the two.
Yuya and Yugo let out gasps of shocked awe as Yuto and Yuri's eyes widen in amazement of what they saw.
A set of platforms started to rise up to form stairs with golden posts at both sides attached to one another on golden string.
The platforms lead up to a massive golden hourglass with red gems decorating the top, middle, and bottom as everything but the glass rotated at both sides were two pairs of golden dragons with feathery wings that Yuya thought looked strangely familiar to him. The Hourglass itself had 2 glass orbs that looked similar to each other and a small one in the center.
"Whoa." Was all Yuya could even say. "Is this the Dragon Hourglass that the king mentioned to us?"
"It has to be, but why does the two dragons looks so familiar to me?" Yuto questioned where he has seen those Dragons before.
"I don't know, maybe it'll come to you soon." Yugo said with a shrug of his shoulders.
Yuya made his way up the stairs and towards the Dragon Hourglass, but as he did so, the Legendary Shield's orb started to glow a bright green glow.
A beam of green light shot out of the sword and at the Dragon Hourglass's center glass orb. The Dragon Hourglass shined brightly for a moment as a light green light shone over Yuya's eyes for a brief moment.
Suddenly appearing at the top of Yuya's status Magic was a timer.

"This thing really is counting down to the Wave." Yuya said with shock and awe.
"Only less than a day, Hmm? Thank Ra, we were able to get armor and do this then, huh?" Yuri asked Yuya, Yuto, Yugo, and Raphtalia.
"You got that right." Yuto agreed as Yugo nodded his head.
"Is that Yuya I see over there?" A familiar voice called out, making Yuya grumble as his brow furrowed not happy to hear that voice again.
It was Motoyasu, alongside Myne, Rino, Elena, and the fighter girl. Motoyasu now wore different armor than the last time the two met. He was now dressed in the highest quality gear that money could buy, and probably did. He wore a sleeveless red tunic trimmed with gold over "his" original chain-mail, alongside a set of silver pauldrons, gauntlets and grieves. A pair of belts were tied around his waist, fastened by a silver clasp and his gloves appear to have been made of leather. He wore the White Duel Disk on his forearms.
"Hello, Motoyasu. Myne." Yuya glared daggers in to Motoyasu and Myne's eyes. His eyes softened up at seeing Rino and Elena. "Hey, Rino. Hey, Elena."
He then noticed the fighter-looking girl, and mentally smacked his forehead. Realizing he never got her name.
"Oh! Uh, what's your name, I never got it." Yuya asked the red-haired fighter.
He didn't know why but he felt that Myne and this fighter-looking girl were close judging by how angry she looked at him, like a friend angry at a boy for doing something wrong with their girlfriend when they didn't do anything at all.
"Names Lesty, but most call me Lucy." The Fighter, now known as Lucy, introduced herself.
"Nice to meet you." Yuya said with glaring eyes, he decided not to trust Lucy as much as he doesn't trust Myne.
"Hey! What kind of armor is that?" Motoyasu asked Yuya looking at the Duelist's armor. "They kinda looks like your old clothes that you wore here for the first few days."
"They are my clothes, they've just been given an upgrade, is all." Yuya said, he didn't want to deal with Motoyasu right now.
"Really? You're really going to be fighting the Waves of Catastrophe in THAT?!" Motoyasu looked at Yuya like the Duelist Champion was insane.
"Yes."

"You're loss." Motoyasu said with a roll of his eyes.
"Do you know these people, Master Yuya-sama?" Raphtalia asked Yuya, wondering if her crus-I mean, Master, knew who they were.
"It won't matter if I did or didn't." Yuya tells her as he walked down the stairs to get far away from the Speedroid thief and his red-head manipulator.
"HEY! Sir Motoyasu was still talking to you, Sakaki!" Myne says with a jeer to Yuya's name.
"I am so sorry for what has happened to you, Yuya." Rino whispers to Yuya, not wanting to be caught or get in trouble. Elena gives a huff and nods her head also not wanting to get caught.
"Thanks." Yuya whispers to them, but they could barely hear him say it.
"Oh, it's you." A voice from a familiar Swordsman coldly said.
"Long time no see, Yuya." A voice from a familiar Bow wielder said.
Both of these voices came from in front of Yuya.
It was Ren and Itsuki, and just like Motoyasu, they wore new armor than the last time they all met.
Ren was now dressed in black or dark navy blue clothing. His basic adventuring gear consisted of navy blue trousers, a white and black overcoat, a navy blue scarf, and a pair of black gloves. As protection, he had now adorned himself with a black chestplate, shin guards, and a spiked pauldron resting on his right shoulder. He also wore the Purple Duel Disk on his forearm.
Itsuki had traded his school uniform for light armor. Wearing white underlayers, his overclothes are brownish yellow, with a metal pauldron, chest plate, and hip guard on the left side of his body. Additionally, he wears thin leather gloves, leather boots, and a green hood-like cape attached around his neck and right shoulder. He wore the Black Duel Disk on his forearm, just like Ren and Motoyasu.
"Ren. Itsuki." Yuya simply said.
Yuya was glaring knives at the Hero of the Sword and the Hero of the Bow, as he did so, Motoyasu had now took notice of Raphtalia and decided to use his charms to get her to join his party.
"Well, Hello there, gorgeous." Motoyasu's voice spoke, gaining Yuya's attention as he turned around. Motoyasu gently grabbed Raphtalia's hand and got down on one knee with a hand over his heart.
"I'm Motoyasu Kitamura, and I'm the Legendary Spear Hero. Nice to meet you." Motoyasu said as he gave a smile that made his teeth twinkle.
"You're a hero?" Raphtalia asked Motoyasu, she felt unsettled by his touch. Motoyasu got up off of his knees, but still held Raphtalia's hand.
"Wow, you're cute!" Motoyasu compliments Raphtalia's looks.
"H-Huh?" Raphtalia questioned with a confused expression.
"Why are you praising a demi-human, Sir Motoyasu?" Myne asked Motoyasu, apparently she was a racist as well as a bitch.
"A girl as gorgeous and as adorable as you shouldn't have to wield a sword." Motoyasu said turning his charm-a-girl-o-meter up to 12. "Please, allow me to protect you from now on as we fight against the Waves."
Yuya was now far past pissed and reaching toward violent anger. 'She's all I have dammit!'
Yuya walked quietly towards Motoyasu and Raphtalia, but the way he walked makes it seems that he was about to unleash absolute Hell in the Church right now.
Raphtalia could sense tension between Master Yuya-sama and Sir Motoyasu. So she decided to deescalate the situation before a fight begins inside the Church.
"Thank you for the offer, Sir Motoyasu, but I'll have to decline. It has become my sworn duty to fight side by side with Master Yuya." Raphtalia declines Motoyasu's offer, but she made a sworn vow to Yuya to fight alongside him in the Waves.
Yuya while he didn't show it, gave a soft smile from Raphtalia's words as he approached her and the Spear Hero.
But, this information from Raphtalia surprised Motoyasu greatly, wondering if she even heard the rumors about Yuya sexually assaulting Myne.
"Are you serious?!" Motoyasu asked surprised. "That's insane. If you stay with Yuya, you'll be in danger--" He tried to warn her of his crime. Yuya gave a growl in anger, and he stepped towards Motoyasu.
Motoyasu noticed this and gave a snarky smirk to the Shield Hero. "Tell me I'm not right. Or do you not have the guts to tell her?"
Seeing that Yuya won't be doing anything, Motoyasu chuckles. Yuya then leaned his head towards Motoyasu and said to him in a quiet tone
"Don't ever put your hands on her ever again, you hear me?" Yuya quietly told Motoyasu, his pupils disappeared and his iris glowing red for just a brief moment before returning to normal.
He then walked towards Raphtalia, and gently grabbed her hand. He really wanted to get out of this place and away from the Cardinal Morons.
"Let's get out of here Raphtalia." Yuya tells Raphtalia as she could see Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri all glaring at Motoyasu, the Blue Swordsman, and the Yellow Archer. "I don't want to be here anymore."
"Come on, you're not gonna tell me that you haven't heard any of those rumors goin' around about him?" The Red Spearman asked Raphtalia, wondering if she really hasn't heard the rumors about Yuya.
"Rumors?" Raphtalia asked wondering what the Legendary Spear Hero meant.
Yuya didn't say a word but tightened his grip on Raphtalia's hand as she could hear Yuya trying so hard to hold back his tears.
Raphtalia slowly walked up next to Master Yuya and stood by his side, their hands still holding one another. This action, calmed Yuya down as he gave a soft smile to his sword from seeing her do this just to comfort him, the two began to leave the Church, hand in hand and side by side.
"See you when the Wave hits." Itsuki said, with a slight bow of his head.
"Just stay out of our way." Ren coldly said with crossed arms and a short nod.
Yuya while comforted by Raphtalia, still gritted his teeth at them still believing he sexually assaulted Myne, the two left the Church's doors without saying another word.
Later that night...
Yuya and Raphtalia made their way to an Inn. After ordering a room for the two of them, Yuya started to get to work at making more medicine, while Raphtalia just sat quietly on the bed watching Yuya crush up the leaves they had collected into medicine.

Curious and worry for Yuya, Raphtalia wanted to ask him some questions.
"Uh, may I ask a question?" Raphtalia asked.
"What would you like to ask?" Yuya questioned not looking at Raphtalia.
"Did something happen between you and the other heroes?" She asked.
"Ask me something else." Yuya tells her, he was not ready to tell her what happened between Him and the Cardinal Idiots with her.

"Are you feeling okay?"
Yuya stopped what he was doing, how should he respond to that. It was a simple question, an easy one at best, but it just held so much meaning to the Pro-Dueltainer.
As he was pondering what he should ask, Raphtalia got up from the bed and slowly walked towards Yuya, once she was close to him, she got down on her knees and hugged him from behind.
This snapped Yuya out of his thoughts as he looked at her without moving his body.
"I may not know what had happened between you four, but I'm sorry you went through whatever happened to you." Raphtalia told him.
Yuya didn't say a word and just let her hug him, he then quietly placed his hand on her, a silent gesture of thanking her kindness of hers towards the Performapal Duelist time of need.
After a couple of minutes of the two silently hugging one another, Raphtalia had slowly let go of Yuya and turned around towards the bed, ready to turn in for the night even though she didn't want to.
"I'll turn in now. Good night." Raphtalia said as she went to bed. As she went to bed, Yuya was reminded of Motoyasu's words today at the Church.
He let out a near quiet sigh from his lips as his eyes look down with despair written all over them.
'It's useless. Even when I tell the truth, nobody would believe me, anyways.' Yuya thought to himself. He then looked to a sleeping Raphtalia and gently smiled. 'Nobody, but her maybe.'
He wanted to trust himself to tell her what had happened, but he just couldn't trust her enough if she would accept it. Or maybe, he just couldn't trust himself to tell her.

The Day of the Wave of Catastrophe...
It was now the day of the 2nd Wave. Many of the towns folks adventurers were already up and about as they were talking with their own party members or just preparing themselves for when the Waves hit.
Yuya and Raphtalia were already up as they saw the many adventurers talking with each other as the two of them looked out at the sea of people.
"Master Yuya." Raphtalia's calls out to Yuya.
"What is it, Raphtalia?" Yuya asked wondering what she wanted.
Raphtalia gained the last bit of resolve she needed. "Yuya, I'm truly grateful to have met you. You gave me cloths to wear and food to eat, you drove away my nightmares and made me want to live again. Yuya-sama, I am your sword! Wherever you go, I will follow... So, please rely on me". She reminded herself of what Yuya told her, about wanting to make sure other kids didn't go through what she did.
Yuya stared at her for a moment. He didn't know what to say or think. He knew that she changed her mind and wanted to live again, but did she truly not hate him? How could she not? Yuya had built up somewhat of an image of a bastard choosing his life over hers, but she acted like she sees it differently. Yuya almost wanted to believe her, but... 'Of course you'll follow me, you're my slave. I didn't give you a choice. Offering help, when you already have to help isn't worth anything...'
Yuya for a brief moment considered what she said, but he didn't want to be proven wrong. So he wouldn't test it. 'I wish you didn't have to be my slave. After everything I've done to build you up. Everything I've done to repair you, to heal you... You'll always have that horrid seal on you, marking you as less than a person... and I am complicit in that. Maybe there is a little truth to what you said. Maybe you doesn't hate me, unlikely as that is. However, no matter what, if given the chance to abandon me and be free... you'll probably do it and I can't really blame you.'
"Sure." He just responded because he felt he had to.
Raphtalia was a little disappointed that her words seemed to do little for him. Being his sword was the way she was going to help him. That's what she decided, but... It was having no effect on him at all. She resolved herself further. 'If my words can't move him, I will show him that I meant them with my actions alone.'

Ren was standing along the cliff with his party members and looked at a card from the Duel Disk's Extra Deck, he seemed to be wondering something as he looked at the card.
Ren gave a sigh and steeled his resolve, placing the Fusion Monster back into the Extra Deck, he drew his sword, preparing himself to fight the Waves.

Itsuki was walking down the path with Rojeel and his other party members behind him. In his hand was a card from his Extra Deck. He seemed to be pondering something as he looked at the card.
Placing the Xyz Monster back into the Extra Deck, Itsuki waved at the passing townsfolk waving back at him with smiles on their faces and hope filling the children's eyes.
With Motoyasu...

Motoyasu was at a Tavern with his Party as he looked at a card from his Extra Deck, he smiled as he looked at the monster, but he looked somewhat unease by his decision.
Taking a deep breath he placed his Synchro Monster back into the Extra Deck, the door to his room opened as Myne ran towards him and gave him a big hug, pushing her breasts into his chest, instantly clearing his mind of what he was thinking, as Rino and Elena looked out the window with concern for the Shield Hero and the Demi-Human.
At the Dragon Hourglass...
We arrive back at the Church looking at the hourglass as the last 5 sands inside the device trickled down one by one, second by second.

After the last sand inside the Dragon Hourglass falls to the bottom, the sound of ringing bells chimes out of the Church, signaling everyone that the 2nd Wave has now just begun.
And that's the end of the Fourth Chapter, I know you probably wanted to see more, but you will in the next chapter.
