Chapter 20: Meeting Part 1
The trees lashed and crashed against each other like drumsticks in the hands of a giant, there was so much greenery around the place. Rustling sounds of small animals scurrying under the thick ferns and over the thousands of brittle branches and twig. The constant sound of a breeze, gently swaying in its caresses the leaves to sway here and there as the birds twittering and flying from tree to tree. Madison watched as the rays of mellow sunlight filtered through the verdurous canopy, penetrating through the leaves and casting an unearthly green–gold luminescence over the ground. They were in varying shades of green: some were still budding, emerging a fresh, limey color into the summer, whilst the grown, flatly panned leaves were brushed a lush emerald under the overhead sun. The soft crunch of them on the ground made her wistful. They were a faded, shredded tapestry of autumn, she thought as she remembered the crisp golden hues and the vibrant oranges that had blanketed the forest floor.
They stopped by a nearby creek resting for a moment, the two young scientists walked in what seemed like an endless forest. With her foot damaged Madison knew if they ever found shelter it would be dark, the sun was reaching its peak meaning noon would be nearing soon. The young woman watched as the baby Godzilla tailed swayed as it looked at the water waiting for something. She realized that it was hunting, soon enough the young Godzillasaurus head dove into the water tail waving excitedly in the air.
Its head soon popped right back up with a mouth full of fish, like a child it went over to its mother placing the fish down at her feet. Maddie turned a bit green noticing the saliva goo the fishes. She looked at it then at the young ancient dinosaur, "You can have it…I'm not hungry…"
The little Godzilla tilts its head, did mother, not like the food? She did say he could have it, oh well, more for him. Her gaze turns over to Dr. Ling, she washes away some of the dirt off from Monster X's last attack.
"Do you have any idea where we are?" Madison asks
"I don't have the foggiest idea." Ling responded, she takes in the environment, everything was much cleaner than modern society, "We could be anywhere. In the distant past, or maybe in the future. Who knows?"
"I thought time travel was you know…er…sci-fi…" Maddie said
"Don't forget Maddie Monarch found a device locked away in a meteorite. At this point anything is plausible." Ling finishes wiping the dust and grime off, she walks over to the young woman. Helping her up they continued to trudge through the forest.
It was late in the afternoon finally they made it towards a gate, they stare at it in awe. The gate was at least six stories tall; Ling notices the kanji written upon it, "We must be in Japan though what era I know not."
Madison also notices it, before anything could happen a patrol squad doing their roundabouts took an interest in the travelers.
"やめて！ 識別してください！(Halt! Identify!)" The two women are stunned before them was a United States Military Personal one with an AK-47 and the other some sort of military personal with a leaf headband.
"識別してください！(Identify!)" The man repeated
"Are you United States military?" The man did a signal to his partner as he heard the English language
"Private Benn Nairn." He said eyeing the two and was that a Godzilla? "Who are you? Why does that thing look like Godzilla?"
"I'm Madison Russell and…"
"Are you related to a Dr. Mark Russell by any chance?" The solider asked
Maddie blinked, "Yeah he was my father."
"火影に報告しなさい、私は大佐に報告しなければならない. ("Report back to the Hokage, I must report to the Colonel.") The man with the Leaf band nodded disappeared in a puff of smoke. The two-scientist stared unsure if they believed what they witnessed
"I need you to come with me, is anyone injured?" Private Nairn asked
"My ankle is broken." Madison said she let out a small 'eep' as the solider did a bridal carry.
"Stay close and don't separate from, what you are about to see may challenge the way you look at people again. "By the way where's the Godzilla look alike?"
Frantically, Dr. Ling turned around Baby Godzilla was nowhere to be seen, how could a creature like that move so fast? Apparently, the baby did not get far as two more people with headbands block its way from entering the village. It was stubborn trying to force its way in, it roared cutely before ramming its head in the ninja causing the poor sap to fall on the ground.
"Baby no! Stop!" Baby Godzilla heeded his mother calling, "Come here!" Everyone floored as the creature obeyed, then began nuzzling his mother, "Behave, no you don't do that."
SKRRAAAAA
"No Baby, no you don't do that!" Madison rubbed its head
"Where did you say you found that thing?"
1 hour later
Chaos erupted on the ARGOS, much chatter, mummers, talks, and theories went around in circles. Yet, to Colonel Foster it was all noise, the chatter was annoying enough, she sighed pinching her the bridge of her nose, she was getting out from a meeting with the Hokage in strengthening the borders of the village while Dr. Serizawa was translating.
"ALL RIGHT LISTEN UP!" Her commanding voice silences the bridge, "Thank you, we have a very unusual case on our hands." She pauses staring at her troops, "Approximately, about 16:00 hours we received contact about two Monarch scientists via Private Nairn. They don't know how they arrived all they said that a light consumed them, and they woke up in a forest, does that sound familiar?"
Just then Mark Russel appeared, "I heard my daughter here, where is she?"
"Easy, Dr. Russel. We are in the middle of the debriefing we'll get to that soon." Foster said
"Where is Maddie?!"
Foster inhaled then exhaled deeply, "Fine, you want to see your daughter? She is the medical wing-Hey! I wasn't done talking yet!"
Mark was out the door with the information.
He had to see if Madison is alive, he was contemplating whether he would see his beloved daughter again. After all, being trapped in another dimension was not exactly the best way to know or not, so racing past everyone he arrives at the medical wing.
Opening the door, he gazes at a young woman with brown hair on the medical bed. Her ankle was wrapped being attended by the doctor. When she looks up she is shocked to her core.
With one word that was all he needed to hear to confirm, "Dad…"
"Maddie…"
The father slowly takes a step.
Then another step.
It was not long before he crushed her in a hug. The two were allowed some privacy as father and daughter wept, "You're alive!"
"I am." They broke apart, "Madison look you at you! You've grown into a fine young woman; how long did I miss?"
Madison was silent.
Mark stares into her eyes, she is biting her lip. He always knew if Maddie bit her lip it meant that news was going to be big. He spoke, "Madison I need know."
"Dad you've been 'dead' for 12 years."
Hokage Tower
(Insert Naruto OST 1 – Naruto's Daily Life)
Tsunade sighed, she did not know how her blonde cousin found out about her meeting in the Village of the Sand, but he was grating on her last nerves. Counting to 10 she forced herself to be calm after all this is Naruto she was dealing with as he sat on her lap.
"Pwease can I come?" Naruto begged
She groaned, "For the 15th time Naruto I said no! You will not be going with me to the sand. Why would you even want to come? The desert is too hot for a little gaki like you besides I won't have time to babysit you."
"Shizune-nichan can!" He jumped from her lap clasping his hand together facing her, "Pwease?!" He gave the best puppy dog face he could muster, Tsunade grits her teeth a throbbing vein on her forehead. She really hated the fact that this was Naruto's secret weapon against her.
'Must resist! Must…Re…DAH!' She bangs her head on the desk. ANBU chuckled the mighty Hokage fell to a child. The blonde hair woman muffle replied to his antics: "Fine! Just make sure that your mom knows alright!"
Naruto views the audience holding a peace sign for victory while he supports a foxy grin, "Can Sasuke come too?"
"NARUTO!"
(Pause background music)
Naruto got the okay from Kushina, she was punished for pulling the pranks last night during the festival, Shizune promised that she would take care of Naruto in the meantime.
Tsunade examined the vehicle she is getting herself into, she kicked the rubber part of this metal contraption, along with her was Shizune and of course the brat. Both were in the vehicle strapped in surround by two ANBU and two USA personal, not including the driver. Tsunade knew that these otherworldly beings possessed extraordinary technology. She has yet to see their claim that this type of technology can make things easier.
She turned to her driver, "Are you certain that this contraption will be quick enough to get us to our destination?"
"With respect, Lady Hokage, our technology is far superior compared to yours." The officer said, "We have seen what this world has to offer and while my superiors are impressed by your 'ninja magic' our tech outranks yours." Tsunade raised a brow it obvious this man was proud, "You see here this a four-wheel-drive vehicle of one-half- to one-and-one-half-ton capacity for reconnaissance or other army duty…"
While he explained the nature of the vehicle one of the two military men rolled their eyes, "I swear Garrick has a stick up his butt."
"Pfft…please the guy loves to listen to his voice. He has an ego the size of the moon, how does Col. Foster put up with this guy?"
ANBU did not understand their English tongue yet their gesture made it obvious they were referring to their comrade in arms. They could not let their guard down even though they have come to an understanding of sorts. With this language barrier still among the new residents, they had to be extra cautious when dealing with them.
Naruto gazed at the two men Sasuke mentioned learning a new language something he was dreading, reading and writing were not his strong suit. The car starts, and the engine revs, they were off. A 1 hour and 30 minutes into the trip his thoughts were interrupted when a loud buzzing alerted everyone.
"Shh…quiet…"
The chatter stopped instantaneously. The buzzing sound was back, Tsunade tucks a loose strand of hair behind her ear, the wind was causing her hair to be in frenzy, "Well, see what's causing the noise!"
The jeep stops, the noise seemed to be coming from the trunk. With rifles armed and kunai's in hand, the military man signaled to his ANBU counterpart with his fingers starting with 3…

1…
The trunk is opened, the two survey the back of the vehicle looking for anything suspicious. The buzzing sound was strong, Kamereon notices a gaping hole that fills and infills. He reaches for the blanket.
He pulls the blanket about to crash the kunai into the would-be assailant only to stop at the sound of the child's voice.
(Resume BGM)
"Mom I don't want to go to school!"
The soldiers' deadpan, "Are you kidding me?" He lifts the boy in his hand.
The raven-haired kid slowly wakes up with his vision clearing he sees the military personal. He smiles with a yawn, "Hi…"
"Looks like we got another passenger with us, Garrick." The man said
Garrick turns around then looks at the Hokage, "Does this child belong to you?"
Tsunade turned her eyes bulged out of her sockets, "SASUKE!"
(Insert Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 5 OST - 12 - The Hidden Sand Village)
3 hours on the road and night has fallen the area went from green to sandy a pathway Naruto knew all too well, the Sand Village is a massive village with up to 8 different paths to go along, for the Jeep to make it without problems they took a route where it was mostly cleared of any tree or bumps making the drive pleasant.
Sasuke was wide awake observing the scenery with a curious gaze. This would be the first time that he would get to explore something besides his native home, not that he got out much mind you. Being in an alternate universe definitely had its advantages, the experience he would get from this trip would last a lifetime then again he could say that could be all a dream.
Naruto wondered what kind of life did Sasuke lived in his previous life, of course, Kay would only be here until they resolve the issue of the 4th shinobi war, still, his mind couldn't help being curious, he was an enigma that Kay. He would like to know more about the true being that wore his frenemy face, one thing that Naruto saw as a blessing at least he would not have to chase him down. He preferred this version of Sasuke even if was not.
Sasuke sat on Shizune lap his head turning to the left then quickly to the right, then focused on the blonde ninja. The second military man popped open his vest pulling a piece of Peppermint mint, he handed it over to Sasuke which he gladly accepted. Using his teeth, he crunches it then gives the remaining half piece to Naruto.
The Hokage was fuming, she had no other choice but to bring the gaki along. How in the world did he end up in the trunk of the vehicle? In fact, how did he know about the trip to the Sand? Questioning his mother would have to be for later, she asked Fukurō to inform the Uchiha Patriarch of this unsettling surprise. She sighs again shaking her head.
It some time yet they made it. Up ahead was Sunagakure the hidden village of the Land of Wind. As the village of one of the Five Great Shinobi Countries, Sunagakure has a Kage as its leader known as the Kazekage, of which there have been four in its history. Being surrounded by desert offers the village a natural deterrent against invasion, as few foreign powers would be willing to endure the sandstorms and water scarcity common to Suna. Sunagakure itself lies in a fortified valley behind cliffs of rock, with the passage in and out of the village restricted to a single cleft between two cliff faces, making the area extremely hard to attack from the ground. The buildings inside seem to be made of clay or stucco, which would help to keep the buildings cool.
The standard attire for Suna shinobi consists of blue or black uniforms underneath flak jackets of various shades of beige to better blend with their natural environment and include shoulders guards. Headpieces consisting of a head-wrap and cloth neck-covers to protect against the harsh weather are popular with Suna shinobi. The guards at the gate were on high alert when they saw the strange vehicle pulling up to the gate then stop at the front. One of the guards noticed a figure climbing out of the strange contraption, he immediately noticed the white robes and the 火.
"Lady Hokage we were not expecting you until Wednesday morning, you are here early." He said
"Yes, you have to thank my new allies for that." She pointed to them, "Inform the Kazekage of my arrival we will still continue with negotiation in two days as planned."
When they entered, the cool night air sent a chill towards Naruto but Sasuke welcomed it. Given his unusual high body temperature he sighed contently if it was one thing, he hated was being hot. With Godzilla, he was a thermostat. Shizune hugged him apparently, she was a bit cold, deserts usually had extreme weather conditions, in the morning to afternoon it would be hot yet in the night it cooled.
Once they arrived at the inn Tsunade regarded her two unwanted packages, "Alright listen up you two! You are visitors here so do not cause trouble that would cause an international incident you are guest in another Kage village!"
"Okay/Sure"
She eyed them
"Can we go to the park tomorrow?"
The following day
(Insert Sasuke Theme)
By the time Midmorning came by the two boys were walking hand in hand with well Sasuke was the one being carried, Godzilla refused to let him sleep. The apprentice to the Hokage was bodyguard by two Suna Ninjas, though Naruto did not mind; he was focused on his comrade. He was snoozing on Shizune taking a nap, Naruto frowned. He warned him that being jinchūriki was no laughing matter, yet he decided to do anyway.
Poor Sasuke, he really did not need a beast within him. He snored lightly he was out like a light, it seemed that nothing was going to disrupt his slumber. When they reached the park, Naruto looks up to Shizune she motions him to go he smiles then goes to play with random children. Sasuke occupies himself on Shizune neck tickling her in the process as she sits on a bench, she wonders to herself why she got stuck with the babysitting job again.
Within his slumber Sasuke sleeps heavily, his mind now begins to dream. Only this was not a dream…
Once Kay awakens on the sandy beach, he groggily sits to hear the roar of the ocean, he was here in his mind again? How did that happen? The rush of thunderous water reached him; he knew that his tenant was coming to speak with him. Rising to a full-height he yawned awaiting the Kaiju at the foot of the beach.
He watches in somewhat amazement as Godzilla rising from the depth in the same location as the water that covers him drips. Kay waves at him, "Sup."
The creature says nothing coming closer yet not to close to shore unless he wanted those bars to appear again. They stay in silence with the sound of waves crashing. It was peaceful, the air was crisp, the sun was shining and a few clouds in the sky.
"My host decides to grace me with his presence." The creature said
"Hey, I don't know how this mindscapes thing work alright. Last time I was thinking and then 'poof' here I am!" Kay said with a shrug
"Hmm, tell me what has been happening in the outside world?" Godzilla growls, his yellow eyes glare at the human
Kay raises a brow, he scratches his chin, "Well, last night Mikoto tried to kill me."
GRRRRRRROOANNNKKKK
"Hey, it's not my fault she tried to do so." He countered
"What did you tell?"
Kay's eyes darts left then right, "Let me think…"
Flashback no Jutsu
Morning came at the Uchiha compound, Sasuke awakens first. He feels the arms of his 'mother' around him. She held tightly to him; it seems to Sasuke that she has not slept at all even though the room was dim he could see the frown on her beautiful face. As he untangles himself, he could feel her grip strengthen.
He sighs, then pokes her in the face gently.
She moves her head yet does not stir.
Again, he pokes a bit harder with a little tap to the face, this time she does stir. Her coal eyes are no longer as dull from the night before when they open. She sits up in bed still holding on to the young man-child, she says not a word.
"Mikoto…" Sasuke began
"Stop." She replies, "We'll talk when we're decent." She lets him go smoothing out her nightgown leaving the room, "I'll make breakfast then we will be discussing what happened last night."
The raven-haired woman leaves not syllable comes from her, Sasuke scratches the back of his head. "Good morning, to you too."
After washing up Mikoto is in the kitchen making breakfast it smells magnificent. Sasuke looks around the area, there was not much for him to do instead to wait for his food. After 10 minutes he looks at his breakfast consisting of steamed rice, miso soup, grilled fish, and various side dishes tsukemono (Japanese pickles), nori (dried seasoned seaweed), natto (fermented soybeans), kobachi (small side dishes which usually consist of vegetables), and a green salad.
"…" He picks up the chopstick unsure what to do, 'This is a lunch meal, not breakfast.'
"Is it not to your liking?" Mikoto stated coldly
Swallowing dryly, he picks up the rice bowl, slowly eating it. The silence is tense between them you could hear a pin drop or cut it with a knife. A few moments of silence later Sasuke speaks, "You tried to kill me."
"I did."
"Do you regret it?"
"Yes and no."
"Oh boy…" Sasuke sighed, "I don't want to know but I have to know."
Mikoto snorted, "I hate you Kay, yet you have the body of my child whom I gave birth too. Nonetheless, at the same time, I cannot stand watching an innocent die. You claim to have future knowledge tell me this; why Sasuke?"
Kay puts down the rice wipes his, "As I told Naruto the reason why I choose your son, I can't be Naruto or any other male for this reason: I can't be outgoing or being the unpredictable ninja that he is, Kiba is way overconfident and there is no doubt Akamaru or Tsume will know a personality change, Shino from Aburame clan is quiet but the bugs living inside of him is something that disgust, Neji was a possibility but there is something that he has that I do not want. To be a slave to the main branch, I value the freedom to be caged."
Mikoto nodded her head, "I see…thus the only one who can provide some cover was Sasuke. You could have chosen Itachi it would have been plausible."
Now that he thought about it did make sense to use Itachi, however, his Sasuke fanboy side cut the option out, in other words, he was not thinking to use the said young teen. "Point, however, if the changes are to be made as we explained it to you, then you know why Itachi is left out. He has bigger fish to fry, something that even I won't dare to do."
She raised a brow, could it be that Itachi was key to the success of this mission? After all, he did state that it was her older son that killed the clan on Danzō orders in that result, Sasuke came out unharmed, traumatized but unharmed. Though there was one thing that was bothering, "This Akatsuki organization you mentioned…" He nodded, "Consist of S-ranked shinobi?"
Again, he nodded; "Hence the reason why I need training. Consequently, you got me training as a slave." He said Mikoto's lips twitched, "Look I get it, you want me gone. That is not going to happen anytime soon so can we please move past this? The Curse of the Uchiha Hatred will consume if you continue down this path and if you don't heed my warning now, it'll destroy you and those around you."
Skeptical she was of him, there was no way to make peace with the man not now, not ever. She wanted to know what he looked like in his real form. Her Sharingan flares to life, Kay has no chance to react as she traps him in genjutsu to peek inside his mind. Once Mikoto is in his mind she looks around it was nothing but a beach and ocean.
"Well, that's the second time I've been placed under genjutsu." A voice said, she spins around facing a young man wearing a red t-shirt with white diamonds on it with a yellow creature in the center that reminded her of the leviathan with dark blue pants.
"You must be Kay." It was not a question, "I was expecting something a little more…out of this world."
"Sorry to burst your bubble if the expectation was high." The young man said, "I'm not exactly too fond of people trying to do me in."
She turns to find a bright light in the distance, "What is that in the distance?"
"Don't know, I never bothered to check it." Mikoto moves towards the light "Hey! Where are you going?!"
It took some time to travel the endless beach as they traveled the two made no conversation. Silence ruled over them, after all, Kay did not know how to start the conversation even if he tried, never talked outside his family and his dear friend or his family.
Mikoto gasped, Kay was stunned. It should not be possible but then again it was staring at him in the face.
(Insert Naruto OST 1 – Nervous)
The young anomaly knew that this would change everything, before them was a bubble within this sphere floating was none other than this world's Sasuke Uchiha. "Sasuke, in the living flesh."
Mikoto did a serious of hand movement: "Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu!"
"Hey wait!"
Too late Mikoto unleashed a massive fireball engulfing the strange sphere in hopes to release her son. This was going to end here and now; she would have her baby boy back no matter the cost!
LXD: Hey guys, long time no see. I am back with another chapter I took down the author note of my relative passing (May he Rest in Peace) to bring you the official Chapter 20. In other news, I will try to get this story out every two weeks seeing that I am working on another story called Symbiosis, if anyone is a Spider-Man fan or just interested go ahead and find the story on profile.
