Chapter 6: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Devil Dragon Stand Knight: Shit just got real, didn't it?

Dragon Emperor0: *In my best Zavala voice* Indeed.

ThermalsniperN7: Oh yeah. Big time.

Romance Breeding: If Fenris is getting more then one girl for his pairing, could he get a dark-skinned girl please? I would love to recommend Sienna Khan. She deserves better than what happened to her in canon! Plus, imagine the possibilities of such a unique pairing: a wolf and a tiger, together! Please strongly consider her, if Fenris is getting more than one girl.

ThermalsniperN7: Hm… A wolf and a tiger getting together… Definitely one to make happen. And yeah, Sienna's fate in canon was shit.

Dragon Emperor0: Yeah.

Team CESN vs Azazel: Ragnarok by Peyton Parrish.

-Emerald Forest-

Everyone stared up at the massive Grimm that loomed over the group, which seemed to cause the other Grimm to cower in the face of it–not the least because it was well over five times their size.

The kids were even worse, they were petrified in fear at the sight of the thing, its very air of pure malevolence caused them to almost convulsively vomit right there. It was… it was…

'Horrifying…' Everyone collectively thought with a shiver.

"H-How do we fight something like that…?!" Yang gulped.

"Easy–We don't!" Blake said as she started backing away from the scene to make a run for it.

However, a few of the kids were able to shake themselves of their horror when they decided to focus on the comparably smaller Grimm while the towering colossus seemed to have its focus solely on Team CESN. When this registered, the team in question felt uneasy.

"Why is it focusing on us like that? What does it want?" Luca wondered as he got his whip ready. He tried to keep himself from trembling, but his body betrayed him as his hands shook.

"I dunno, but I don't like it." Sun stated, his demeanor showing he was putting on a brave face, but was shaking in his boots on the inside.

"..." Neptune was dead silent, his eyes like white saucers as his knuckles turned white from clutching onto his weapon for too long.

'Everyone's acting scared, but… I feel fine. Why?' Fenris thought with a confused frown. Deciding not to dwell on this literal life or death situation, he brought out Skol and Hati, before he started swinging them around in circles, creating wheels of fire at his sides before he started swinging his weapons around like Kratos.

With a small grunt, he sent the blades at Azazel, who deflected them with his sword. The giant Grimm then proceeded to charge at the wolf boy with his sword raised, forcing everyone to dodge since the impact it made with the ground was pretty big.

"Damn it, Fenris! Why did you have to attack it?!" Yang yelled as she regained her footing next to Ruby.

The boy didn't answer, as he was too busy trying to beat back the Watcher with his own power, wrapping his chains around its waist and launching himself into a flying double kick right into Azazel's face, causing it to back up and stumble.

Sun and Luca nodded at each other as they both used the latter's whip to cause the giant Grimm to trip, and crash to the ground. Neptune used the opening to leap on top of the Red Watcher and stab it in the shoulder before electrocuting it, though given the size difference between them, Azazel only felt some tingling.

With a metallic groan, the creature got up and flicked Neptune off of him, causing the boy to crash into a pillar of the temple.

"OK, so this thing is really strong." The blue haired boy groaned as he got up. Seconds later, Azazel then spread his massive wings and took to the air, where he was about to attack again when Fenris struck him again with his swords and hooked him against.

But this time, the Watcher was ready, so he grabbed the chains and started swinging the wolf faunus around, before slamming him into the ground, creating a crater.

The Grimm then took his sword and prepared to drop down and stab the boy with a dive thrust–but before the blade could hit him, Luca pulled the team leader out of the way. Causing Azazel to have to try and pull his sword from the ground.

Meanwhile at the ruins over a chasm, the other three teams found themselves cornered by the other Grimm who continued to chase them there. Thankfully, they weren't in the presence of the Watcher of War anymore, so everybody could think clearly again.

This then allowed them to absolutely wreck shop. For example, with Team CRDL, their leader was able to one-man kill the King Taijitu with his mace/gun. Slamming it on the creature's remaining head and shattering it to pieces before shooting it several more times.

"I'm tired of this mother fuckin' snake in these mother fuckin' woods!" He snapped.

Meanwhile, Ruby was utterly done with what was happening and forced Weiss, Blake and Yang to sit down so she could explain her plan to them. When she was done, the Nevermore circled back around and smashed what was left of the ruins, forcing them to take action. Yang leaped into the avian Grimm's maw and fired several shells down its throat, the pain causing it to crash in front of the cliff. When it got up and tried to take off, Wiess just froze it there by its tail. Blake and Yang then proceeded to leap to a pair of pillars and used Gambol Shroud's ribbon to make a makeshift slingshot, which Ruby hopped onto and was pulled back by one of Weiss' glyphs.

"Think you can make the shot?" Ruby asked the heiress, who looked back at her confidently.

"Can I?" She chuckled, getting a confused look from the scythe user.

"Can you?" The silver eyed girl questioned.

"Of course I can!" The heiress snapped indignantly. Shrugging it off, Ruby steeled herself and chambered a shot, the action being Weiss' cue to launch the scythe user at the Nevermore.

With a 'thwack' of the ribbon, Ruby zoomed forward to the cliff face where the Nevermore was pinned, running up it with her semblance and Weiss' assistance, before turning her scythe around and shooting round after round to hook the creature's neck in Crescent Rose's curve before…

Pow!

Shlnk!

Whoosh!

She reached the top of the cliff and decapitated it, her cloak flowing in the wind as petals were floating off of her.

At this point, Jaune and his team were able to kill the Deathstalker and looked just in time to see Ruby finish off the Nevermore and strike a heroic pose at the top of the cliff. Cardin and his team actually looked impressed when they saw it.

"Now that's a team." Nora said as she elbowed Jaune cheekily.

Back with Team CESN, they were still having issues fighting Azazel, every attack they made did minimal damage–with an exception being Fenris's swords. And right now they were capitalizing on the Watcher's immobility due to his sword being stuck in the cliff.

"Damn! We're barely doing anything!" Neptune hissed as he put some distance between him and Azazel so he could catch his breath.

"Fenris is the only one getting anywhere here, for some reason." Luca noted as he landed next to him after attacking the Watcher from the air.

"Why though?" Sun panted as he tried to catch his breath.

Fenris snarled as the crimson aura of his semblance surrounded him, causing him to grow several inches per second as he got angrier and angrier–the ground below him scorching as he continued to swing his blades.

"JUST DIE ALREADY!" He thundered. "Cyclone of Blades!" The wolf boy howled as he swung his swords and spun in a circle, creating a helicopter effect of fire which caused Azazel to drop to one knee. "Nemean Crush!" Fenris continued as he wound up before cross slamming Skol and Hati into the Watcher's sides, pulling him down to his hands and knees. "Rage of the Titans!" He roared once more as he readied another attack.

He then swung his blades in a flurry of strikes that seemed to rend Azazel's armor asunder and left its torso exposed.

The Watcher grunted as he tried to shield his torso from the angry wolf boy. Glancing at Ruby on top of the cliff, he looked at the crimson cloaked faunus in front of him and nodded.

"Well done, Horseman." The figure intoned before he sent a wave of energy in her direction. Fenris saw where the attack was going and widened his eyes in alarm.

"Ruby–look out!" He yelled in an attempt to try and warn her.

It was for naught though, since he was too far away to be heard. Without thinking, he reached out his hand and a glyph appeared on the cliff wall–causing a horse to run out of the ground at Ruby and push her aside, causing her to grunt. The equine construct disappeared before anyone could really see it.

She was about to say something, but then the energy wave flew through the open space she used to occupy, causing her to widen her eyes in shock that she had almost died.

"What the…" She trailed off as she looked in the direction the wave came from and could make out the Watcher's figure flying away from the area.

"Phew." Neptune sighed as he and Sun both collapsed on the ground while Luca was trying to piece together what had just happened–as was everyone else.

And Fenris, he stood there in shock as he slowly sheathed his blades, having seen the horse construct before it disappeared… and he couldn't believe it.

'Is this what that bitch did to me?' He thought to himself as he looked down at his hand. What even was the full extent of it?

Meanwhile with Ozpin and Glynda, the two were discussing the sheer miracle that no one got hurt, especially given the circumstances.

"It was most likely only a matter of time before the ruins repellent of the Grimm would have failed, but to let in so many old Grimm–especially a Watcher of all things!" Glynda ranted. "It's a miracle that no one's dead."

"Indeed, but I get the feeling that this will be something far more foreboding. Azazel's presence in the forest is proof of that." The Headmaster stated grimly.

"And what Mr. Crimson did… I know we suspected that Salem did something to him but–to make him a Horseman…?" The blonde gasped.

"I am shocked as well." Ozpin nodded. "But it seems that he no longer serves her, so this could be what we need." He added.

"I hope so." She sighed. "Though that makes me wonder, Mr. Emerald, do you suspect that he could also be one?" She questioned, knowing that the boy and their enemy had a history together.

"It is possible, but impossible to know at this point in time." The headmaster replied. "For now though, it is paramount that we keep an eye on them." He added.

"Yes sir." The blonde nodded as the two made their way back to the school.

-Beacon Main Hall-

It was sunset by this point, and teams were being formed. Cardin had just been appointed as leader of Team CRDL, and now Jaune, Pyrrah, Ren and Nora were up next.

"Jaune Arc, Pyrrha Nikos, Li Ren, Nora Valkyrie. By obtaining the bishop pieces, you will form Team JNPR." Ozpin said. "Led by Jaune Arc." He added.

"Huh? Me?" The boy got out in surprise as his redheaded partner put a hand on his shoulder while Nora smacked him on the back. The new team then left the stage and Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang took their places.

"Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long. You four retrieved the Black Knight pieces." He said as the four girls stood attention. "From this day on, you shall be known as Team RWBY, led by Ruby Rose." He added. Weiss had a look of horrified disbelief and Yang looked a little uneasy before she congratulated her sister with a hug. Blake didn't seem to care much.

They then got off the stage for Fenris, Luca, Sun and Neptune's turns to be up there.

"Sun Wukong, Neptune Vasilias, Luca Emerald, Fenris Crimson. For retrieving the Black Queen pieces, you shall from this day forth be known as Team CESN, led by Fenris Crimson." The man stated, causing everyone to look at the still rather tall lupine faunus.

"Huh. Not what I was expecting, but okay." The wolf boy shrugged as he led his team off the stage.

'Hm… Things have certainly gotten interesting.' The gray haired headmaster thought with interest.

(Meanwhile)

In a warehouse somewhere in Vale, Roman was looking at a map of the city as he planned out his next heist, but that wasn't the only thing on his mind, however. He was aware that the cops were catching up to him, and that he needed to change locations fast. As he looked through a newspaper, he paused when he saw an article about the White Fang and gave it a once over.

"Just what the doctor ordered." He said to himself as a sly smirk creeped across his features.

Dragon Emperor0: And there we have it. The end of initiation and the name drop and reveal of two original concepts we added to this story: The Four Horsemen, and the Watchers. And as you can see, barring the fact that Fenris could hold his own against Azazel, these Watchers are largely infallible

7: That makes them a huge pain in the ass to put up with since only their Horsemen are able to fight them on equal terms. Speaking of which, in the time that it took us to get this chapter planned and written, our plans regarding what to do with Luca have changed. He will be one of the Horsemen, and since Quetzalcoatl is the White Qutzalepocla according to his myth, it makes sense.

Dragon Emperor0: More Specifically, he'll be the White Horseman. The one of Conquest. Though his powers won't be revealed until much later, his basic powers showing up in Vol. 3 and the full power set becoming relevant in Vol. 5 since his Watcher, Aramos, will be in Mistral. Fenris on the other hand will show his early on, Vol. 3 at the latest.

ThermalsniperN7: Yeah. And we have plans for who the other Horsemen will be, one of which being of great value to one particular member of Team RWBY… That's all I'll say for now. Anyway, see you next time!
