Hopefully this gets the story back on track. Took a few days to get ideas for the next few chapters

I'm in two minds as to whether or not to carry on the war in this story after the Blood Feud arc or carry it on as a separate fic

I'm also curious as to how you guys found this fic

Again, I own nothing

Harry

What a week it had been Harry thought having his breakfast Saturday morning. Monday he'd woken up to find the golem with a knife in its head, he couldn't remember the last time he was both scared and angry at the same time. If he hadn't overheard that conversation then the chances are he wouldn't be alive any more. He had hoped that when he put the golem in front of Dumbledore that he might finally get off his arse and realise just how fanatic the Slytherins had gotten. For years he'd been telling him that his life was in danger but he kept getting the brush off "as long as I am here no danger will come to you Harry" which was utter bollocks considering his previous five years at the school. And right on time the greasy prick intervened on behalf of his godson and Malfoy got away with attempted murder. He decided right there and then that Dumbledore and the rest of the staff would never do anything to help him so he would and it himself.

He recalled reading a scroll in the chamber about the ultimate form of restitution called Blood Feud. It was written by one of Salazars descendants who moaned at the fact they weren't considered part of the aristocracy anymore and they recalled how their ancestor had gotten revenge on muggles by invoking a ritual on his blood. This was only a few decades after Merlin had formed his edicts so he was able to perform the ritual himself. But he had written down everything he heard from the portrait of Salazar about what was needed for the ritual to work. It seemed that Magic did indeed favour Harry as he was now considered part of the wizarding aristocracy due to his godfather leaving him the Black seat. And it had gone off without a hitch. Oh, their faces when he called Blood Feud right in front of everyone. It still put a smile on Harry's face whenever he thought of it.

He was actually excited about putting an end to the arrogance of certain Slytherins for good. He wasn't a sadist by any means, but he was done playing the passive good little hero that the Wizarding World thought he was. He knew it was Dumbledores doing, he knew that Albus had done a lot to cultivate the image of Harry being a Gryffindor in Slytherin. And he was so glad to be able to take that particular mask off. He knew exactly what Dumbledore was doing with the talk of his youth, Albus seemed determined that Harry become the next 'Leader of the Light' which Harry had no desire to be. While he wasn't Dark, he also wasn't Light either. You don't suffer the childhood he did and then have that extended by being around pureblood arrogance for five years and still maintain any form of "Niceness". Harry was rather proud of being in the middle of them both. If anything, he was Grey but he hated that term as historically it was given to those who sat on the fence and wouldn't commit to any cause. Harry had a cause, the elimination of the stupid, the downfall of arrogance and hopefully to just be left alone

Meeting Gellert was a strange one too. And while he knew it was a last-minute decision, he wasn't particularly happy that Albus had kidnapped him and taken him to a place where he was virtually defenceless. It was yet another mark against Albus. Gellert was just as egotistical as Albus was, just in a different way. He could see why they had formed a bond all those years ago. Love was indeed a very strange force in their world if a 'Light Lord' and a 'Dark Lord' fell for each other. Harry wasn't going to judge having never fallen in love with anyone but that relationship was just bizarre. Albus was like a giddy child showing off his new toy, trying to make it seem that Gellert wasn't a bad person, just misunderstood. Albus, Harry decided was a cretin

Wednesday was a strange one. Nearly starting a war with the goblins was not something he ever thought he'd do but he found it so easy lately to fly off the handle when being ordered around. He was hoping it was hormones and the fact his magic was acting up and that it would settle down soon. Putting Snape in his place finally would live long in the memory. He hoped Snape listened to him when he severed the Life Debt between them. He wouldn't hold back just because he was formerly Albus' pet reform project

Thursday was fun though. He could see why people get blood lust. He was eternally grateful for the Portrait of Salazar teaching him Occlumency and Legilimency. Having to centre himself while fighting Malfoy was difficult but the lessons had paid off. Malfoys mind had gradually become an open book too him so defeating him was relatively easy. Getting Arthur to finish him off was a stroke of genius he thought patting himself mentally on the back. He had no desire to have any servants. And he just knew Ginny would try and use that to become an intimate part of his life. The latter half of the day was fun too. He remembered seeing Narcissa at the World Cup and immediately disliked her haughty attitude. Yet another mark against the arrogance of purebloods. Putting them in their place was unbelievably satisfying.

He was grateful to have found the Tonks'. He remembered when he first met them, at the beginning of his fifth year. He and Sirius had snuck out one night with the aid of Dobby to visit Sirius' 'favourite relation'. Never mind the fact Andromeda still thought of him as a traitor. While she knew he was James' best friends she also knew that he was a convicted criminal. Hearing from her daughter that she'd been in contact with him concerned her greatly. After all she hadn't heard from him since before the Potters had died and for all she knew he had succumbed to the Black madness and joined with their family's pureblood way of thinking. Having him knock on her door at 1am was surprising to say the least. Having him act like they'd only parted yesterday threw her off. But having to deal with Bellas's mood swings growing up she was treating him like she did her, go along with it and wait for the right time to stun him. Seeing Harry alongside him halted that train of thought. She had listened to them both while they explained what had happened and then come up with a plan. Sirius was going to sneak into Gringotts and claim the Black lordship, then he could make Harry his heir. In the meantime, they'd both teach Harry about his place in the world. It was the start of a fabulous relationship and he knew that while he hated the pureblood lessons he was grateful that someone had taken the time out of their lives to aid him.

Bringing Andromeda and Nymphadora back into the Black family was the right thing to do. Casting Bellatrix out was also the right thing to do, she was a rabid dog that needed to be put down at the earliest opportunity. Which was a shame really because if she'd have gotten help in her youth, she may have been able to be a productive member of society. As it was her cruel tendencies were encouraged to the point now her sadism was her biggest quality. Her mother and father had a lot to answer for. Narcissa on the other hand was a difficult one. She had been raised to be a bargaining chip, taught to be arm candy than a useful member of society. She was originally pencilled in to marry one of the Lestrange brothers until Andromeda ran away and she was used in Andromedas place with Lucius. It was very much a political match and give her her due she was very good in the social arena. She was basically Pansy Parkinson but twenty-five years older which said everything you'd need to know. The issue is she hadn't done anything to warrant banishment from the Black family. Her son definitely had trying to murder its head like Bellatrix had done but Narcissa was a tricky one. He was still unsure what to do with her should she survive next Tuesday.

Yesterday was a long day. Starting the day with family business with the Longbottom's was tough. He had gained a picture in his head of Augusta over the years and didn't like what he heard. Who lets their brother drop their only grandson not only off a pier but out of a window as well? Neville talked about it like it was normal. There is no excuse for child abuse! Because that's exactly what it was. If Neville died in either of those two incidents then the Longbottom line would have been over! But again, who was he to interfere in the way a different culture raised their kids? He was very grateful that they'd taken the vault key. And very thankful Neville saw it for what it was.

Andromeda had said yes to coming back into the family. He was genuinely very glad about that. He'd talked to Ted as well about being Paterfamilias over his wife and daughter and told him that he wouldn't interfere in their marriage unless she became unhappy, that he wouldn't interfere in Nymphadoras love life either unless she was asked and that he'd happily cede any marriage proposals to Ted and his wife. He had said that he would demand background checks on them though to make sure they weren't after the Black fortune or part of Toms band of minions, which they were all more than happy to go along with. The rest of the night was fairly quiet. He'd met up with Hermione and finished off the books for notes on the withering curse and they were going to present them to Albus later on. Which reminded him, he better check that Albus was free later on.

Drawing his wand, he cast the patronus and said "Professor, are you free at all later on? I have some information for you". The patronus being cast drew many a gaze as it was still classed as a difficult NEWT level spell, what drew even more incredulous looks was that his Grim trotted not even twenty feet to where Albus was sitting to relay the message. Chuckling Albus replied with his own patronus "I shall be free around 7:30pm if that's ok Harry?" the phoenix flying over to relay the message had people staring at them both incredulously. They could both stand up and walk the distance in less time than casting their spells. Seeing the interaction Hermione came over and sat down beside him. Many of the Slytherins seeing this were tempted to open their mouths until Harry looked up at them as if daring them to say a word. Not taking his eyes off them he replied to Albus with another patronus "7:30 will be fine, I'll be bringing my sister with me as her help has been integral. Have a good day professor". Receiving a reply of "How very curious. I shall see you both then. Have a good day yourselves" had Hermione finally have her brain engage

"Harry" she said "you are aware you could literally walk a few metres to relay that conversation?"

"Yes" harry replied simply "but I didn't for a few reasons" seeing her quizzical gaze he continued "one; it helps your magical output by using the most powerful spells you know frequently. Your magic is like a muscle, you keep building it up and it gets stronger. Two; it's a bit of a show to people to stop them getting any ideas for the foreseeable. If they see me casually use a NEWT level spell then they also have to think of what else I may know and question whether it will be worth it to try me. And thirdly; I'm far too lazy to actually want to stand up at the moment"

Shaking her head and stealing a piece of his toast, she asked "so what are you doing today? Any plans?"

"Absolutely sod all big sis" came the reply "I might go for a walk to Hogsmeade to have something to do. I don't plan on doing anything major and I would quite enjoy a relaxing day after the week I've had. Yourself?"

"That sounds nice. Can you pick me up a book I had on order. Unlike you I'm not allowed to leave whenever I want to" she finished scowling at him giving him the order slip

"Yeah sure" taking a look at the name Harry burst out laughing "you really read this crap? I never had you down as a romance novel person"

"Yes, thank you!" Hermione said through gritted teeth standing up "I like romance as well as the next girl thank you very much. Will you get it or not?"

"Peace Hermione" Harry said still laughing holding his hands up in surrender. Standing up he said "of course I will, I'm sorry"

Putting his arm around her shoulder he led them out of the hall. Giving her a side hug and a kiss on her temple he said "I'll meet you at the entrance hall around 7 then Hermione. Once I've got the book, I'll give it to Dobby to put into your trunk. Is that ok?"

"That's fine" she replied "you better get me something to apologise! See you later Harry"

With that they parted going in different direction, Harry walking out of the front door laughing while Hermione made her way to the library. Neither of them had seen Ron follow them out of the hall. He knew it! He knew they were hiding something from him, seeing Harry kiss her on the head like that just proved that they'd been seeing each other and not told him. He was deeply hurt. He thought Harry wouldn't betray him like that. How could they do this to him? Deciding he'd confront them later on he angrily made his way to his room where he gathered his broom and flew straight out of the Gryffindor dorm room. Deciding he'd crash whatever they were doing that night he flew over to the quidditch pitch and went through his drills.

The day went terminally slowly for Ron. Waiting for the two traitors he stood in an alcove waiting for them to meet up. At 6:55 Harry turned up coming up from the Slytherin common room with a package in his hand, it looked like a small box. A minute or so later Hermione arrived also.

"Thank you for my book Harry, I would have had to wait a few more weeks for the next Hogsmeade weekend to pick that up" Hermione said "what's that?" she asked pointing to the package

"This is my grovelling gift to you" he replied opening the package to reveal a beautiful silver necklace with a cat pendant dangling from it. "I saw it in the window of the jewellers next to the book store and immediately thought of you. It reminds me of Crookshanks. I've spent most of the afternoon putting several protection charms on it. It's also got a tracker on it too. Just because people won't challenge me directly anymore doesn't mean they won't try it on with my friends" seeing Hermione tear up he continued hurriedly "If you don't like it, I can change it for you"

"No!" Hermione said quickly "It's beautiful. Thank you, Harry. Can you put it on for me" she asked turning around and moving her hair as Harry placed it on her. Turning back round she hugged Harry and kissed him on his cheek and said "Thank you, I love it"

It was at this moment that Ron came from his hiding place with an ugly look on his face, Livid he said "Well, well, well. What have we got here? Jewellery? Where is mine Potter? Or is it strictly for your girlfriend here? You know what, don't answer that. I really don't care. I would have thought though that you'd have told your best friend that you two were dating" by this time a crowd had come out of the hall to see what was going on. Seeing an angry Ron shouting at a bemused Harry and a confused Hermione created a lot of muttering, especially at the last sentence

"Ron, we aren't dating" Hermione said "we never have been"

"Don't lie to me!" Ron roared getting into her face causing Hermine to cringe away from him "do you think I'm stupid? Do you think I wouldn't notice you two gallivanting off to who knows where at all hours. Do you think I wouldn't notice how you two are with each other? Always touching and hugging and kissing. I cannot believe you two would do this behind my back!" he said as he started to storm away. Hermione grabbed at his sleeve to try and stop him and he swung his arm hitting her across the face. Next thing Ron knew he was going flying into a nearby suit of armour.

Harry had been getting steadily more irritated at Ron throughout his tirade. Making his sister cry was one thing, getting in her face like he was, was another. But hitting her was the last straw before he felt his magic react and pulse outwards throwing everyone around him backwards. The focus of his ire though went flying into the nearest suit of armour. As he stalked towards him the floor bent and cracked underneath him with each step. Wandlessly picking Ron up and slamming him into the ground he shouted "If you ever touch my sister again, I'll kill you, Ron Weasley. If I ever see you look at Hermione in a way I deem unsuitable, I will kill you. If you ever come close to her again, I will kill you!"

Hearing a spell come from the back of him he reacted with a wandless shield and turned to duel the person who dared attack him from behind. Casting several spells, he began duelling the person with a ferocious intensity that no one had seen from him before. The red mist had descended and he didn't even see who he was duelling. All he knew was that this person had attacked him in a cowardly way, hearing another spell come from the side he released his second wand and began to duel them both. The students that were hiding behind their own protection spells were in awe of Harry. Was this what he had been hiding all this time? Carrying on with the duel Harry cast several high-powered spells that he had learned from Gellert's book, he wasn't wrong when writing how powerful and taxing these spells were but Harry knew he had power in spades. He had quickly overpowered the second person and began to focus on the first when a third person joined in.

He was quickly tiring, not used to duels going on this long and with the potency of the magic being thrown around, Harry was getting winded. He needed to end this. Remembering a spell that he had learned from his mothers' diary Harry cast "Sectumsempra" at the first person, hearing a pained yell he followed it up with a disarming charm which also hit. That left the last person. Just as he was going to cast an electrocuting charm a quiet "stupefy" hit him from his side. Immediately the world went black for him. The students despite seeing the danger was over with daren't move. They watched as Professor McGonagall cast a binding spell on Harry, cuts on her face and her hair all over the place. She had several burns on her robes and was walking gingerly. She walked over to Filius who was sitting against the wall looking like he'd been thrown through a wind tunnel. He hung his head in shame at being overpowered so easily by Harry. Hearing a scream Minerva and Filius looked over to where the noise had come from. What they saw made them nearly throw up. Albus Dumbledore was lying against the big oak doors unconscious, extremely pale with one arm missing and blood pumping from him at an alarming rate.

Quickly casting a stasis spell, she levitated Albus as the crowd parted as she raced to the hospital wing. Filius standing up asked Hermione to levitate Harry and follow Minerva while he gathered Albus' arm and wand. Ordering the prefects and head boy and girl to make sure they went straight to their common rooms he made his way to the hospital wing levitating an unconscious Ron Weasley. Just what had happened for Harry to react like that. He'd seen it before in people who were in a blind rage but never to that level. Something had snapped in Harry, he just hoped both Albus and Ron survived with the level of damage Harry had done to them. Madame Pomphrey was fantastic at her job, but this may be beyond her. Entering the hospital wing he saw Poppy frantically working on Albus with several healers helping her out. It seems that she had requested help from St Mungos. Giving them Albus' arm, he made his way over to Hermione where she was sat beside Harry. Calling Minerva over he asked her just what had happened. Hermione explained as best she could but stopped after she got to the duel part. She was at a loss to explain what happened there.

"I've seen it several times Miss Granger" Filius said "people often lose themselves in battle due to either bloodlust, madness in losing someone close to them or just generally being truly angry. Harry seems to have gone through the last route, but the level he was duelling at was frightening. I'm a former nine-time champion dueller and I didn't lay a single spell on him. Albus is extremely powerful and was beaten too. Granted we were simply trying to bind him to calm him down but even so. The only reason we're here like this was because he wasn't expecting your spell, Miss Granger" turning to Minerva he continued "the DLME will have to be notified of this, Mr Potter will likely be expelled. We have no way of containing him should this happen again"

"It won't" came the reply from Harry, shocking them all that he was conscious. Warily Filius and Minerva drew their wands. Wandlessly removing his restraints he stood up and went over to Albus where he picked up his wand. Looking at it curiously he knew he was now its master. Ordering the healers to move he pointed it at Albus and intoned "Vulnera Sanentur" repeatedly until the wounds closed up and healed. Dropping the wand onto the bed Harry left without looking back despite the repeated shouts from the professors. Walking towards the entrance hall he noticed it was very quiet. Upon entering he saw how much damage had been done by their duel. Calling both of his wands to him from where they had fallen, he cast the repairing charm repeatedly until no one could tell something horrible had happened, banishing the blood would make sure of that. Walking out the front door he left Hogwarts and apparated to Grimmauld Place. Sitting himself in front of the fireplace he didn't realise he wasn't alone until he felt a glass of Firewhiskey pushed into his hand and Remus sat opposite him. They sat there in silence until Harry started talking. Remus never interrupted, nor did he chastise. He simply listened.

"What happened to me Remus?" Harry asked quietly "I nearly killed Albus, and while I'm not fond of him at the moment I don't want him dead"

Taking a sip of his drink Remus replied "how far into your family Grimoire have you gotten? Have you read about your family magic yet?"

"I've not really had a lot of time to read a lot of it" Harry replied "I've read bits but the family magic part was blank for me. I guessed I'd have to go through magical maturity to read it and I've got another nine months until i go through that"

"No, you did just that tonight Harry" Remus said shocking him "I saw it with your dad when he turned seventeen, there's a reason he escaped Voldemort so many times when so few others did. Your dad was quite powerful you know?. Nowhere near your level, but still quite powerful. He went through it when he found out his mum and dad had died in 1979. Becoming Head of House and magical maturity at the same time was not a nice thing to witness. It seems the Potter family magic is rooted in protection of family. You see Hermione as your sister and your magic reacted when you saw her hurt. And if you're wondering how your dad died when he was protecting his family, his wand was found on the couch, nowhere near him so he attempted to take on Voldemort without a wand. It was a bad habit of his actually. Who knows how things would have turned out if he had his wand on him. He was never great at wandless magic so he wasn't a challenge to Voldemort." standing up Remus said "go get some sleep Harry, tomorrow is going to be a busy day it seems. Hopefully Albus will be ok as you repaired the damage you did to him. Repairing the entrance hall was a good move too as it shows you have some remorse for what happened. Good night, Harry" with that Remus went upstairs and Harry went to his own room. Casting the tempus charm, he saw it was only 9:30. His mind was constantly going through what happened tonight. Sleep it seemed was a long way off
