"Again." Danny groaned on the ground and pushed himself up with his shaking arms. He glared at Selena from below. "Come attack me Danny and try not to be so obvious this time", she smirked.
Everyday Danny was getting his ass kicked by Selena. Sure he's good at aerial fights against ghosts but none of those ghost are professional fighters either. His muscles would burn and worst was the stretches she made him do.
"C'mon Danny you can reach your toes!" "I'm trying!"
Selena looks down at her son where his hands barely pass his knees. She immediately pushes his back sharply closing the hands to feet distance drastically. Selena laughs at the "yeeouch!" Danny lets out.
"C'mon let's work on your basic defense moves." She sends a roundhouse kick towards him. Danny reach to grab her legs, and failed to notice Selena feint and fell instead. Selena pulled him up and repeated the attack where Danny successfully blocked this time.
"Good! Now the next move to learn." She twisted her grip and to Danny's confusion he ended up on his back.
"Wha? how?" Danny sputter out dazed. Selena huffs a laugh and begins to teach him the karate move. Some mornings they would be practicing kickboxing, others days get in the mind set of fighting dirty Gotham street style. She learned he constantly struggles with the reminder that gravity exist when his kicks weren't high enough, or his balance would be off. Through these daily teaching created a deeper relationship between the two of them. It would be one day Danny slips out a complaint of 'mom' that their relationship changed for the better but 'tis for another time.
"Kitty cat! It's girls night!" Harley voice echoed she jumps through the balcony. She pauses her stride when her eyes meet Danny standing in the kitchen frozen in surprise.
"Ooooh and who's this?" She points with her weapon at him and curiously tilt her head to the side. Her grin growing wider by the second. Danny tries with no success to not fidget under her stare and nervously looks between Selena, Harley and her bloody hammer.
"Uhm"
"My son." Selena deadpan. She walked in front of Danny, crossed her arms and gave a slight disapproval to Harley. Harley's eyes twinkled with mischief and her cherry red lips popped open. A loud whine escaped and she cried out, "Oh my god! I thought we were friends after everything we did together from beating up Penguin's gang, and that museum heist and-"
"-it's new" Selena declared, she rolled her eyes and moved Danny away from the kitchen.
Those crocodile tears quickly disappear from her face Harley twisted her attention back to Danny, a sharp glint in her eyes roaming every detail she can. Her grin once again encompass her face.
"So you're the reason the Cat been away."
Harley leans forwards and grabs her chin rubbing thoughtfully and walking around Danny. A sly smirk appeared on her pouty lips "Hmm, baby daddy musta' been a looker."
Danny's face flush red in embarrassment.
"Aw how cute", Harley reaches out to grab him but was pulled back harshly by Selena hand.
"Sorry Harley not tonight" she pushes her towards the window.
"but but even Ivy is coming to play~! " Harvey digs her heels into the floor. She does a twirl, a piele, a leap, and frees herself from Selena and laughs. She bounces back to her side and grins once more.
"You know -" Harley whispers the rest into Selena ears.
Selena face flushes with anger.
"How dare they!"
"Right! Time to bang some heads!" Harley raises her weapon up in the air. Acting out of hitting the imaginary heads with her hammer. A wild grin stretches on her face.
"No more time for the fat rats to play cause kitty cat come to play! " she skips to the window and swings her leg over it.
"See you later kitten!" She blows an exaggerated kiss. With a loud 'mwah', Harley jumps out the window back into Gotham's alley.
Selena is fuming but composes herself. Selena turns to Danny.
"You okay?" Selena asked him and watches his reaction to meeting Harley.
"I'm fine she didn't do anything really and I'll be fine if you leave. Go ahead, I'll actually going to get a head start to Amity for a bit." Danny reassures.
"Alright…" Selena heads to her bedroom and begin to suit up.
"C'mon Cat or Ivy will get allllll the best fights!" Harley yells from outside.
Selena puts on her goggles and kiss Danny on the crown of his head.
"I'll be back in the morning."
"Bye bye." Danny gives a small wave. He grabs his own bag and transforms flying in record time back to amity to spend a night together with friends like old time sake.
meh filler chapter, the next chapter is almost done - time to deal with the bats.
