Straw Hat RWBYs

An: I tell ya. 10-hour work days are no fun. It's hard to get the energy up to write on days like that! But, anyways! New chapter! Yay! I hope you guys enjoy it! It's been tough, but I do like how it worked out.

And now, for a moment, I'd like to respond to a few people in the reviews:

Game2002: It's never spoken out loud, but it's referenced during Robin's flashback, where in the giant tree they had a model of the world. The main planet in the model had six satellites around it, I believe.

RWBYROSE: To your points in order:

1. Yeah, it's going to be quite a shock to their systems. It's going to be fun to write their reactions.

2. Very much so. I will address that issue more after I finish this arc I'm starting.

3. I totally agree. And the last part of this chapter is just a taste of that!

Greymon1000: Thank you for your inputs on RWBY's future crew positions. Nomadskout8 and I have been debating about their positions, and we've got a good idea where we think they'd be best at. But I will say this, you did give us a great idea for one! Mwahahaha!

Soren: No. I don't intend to demonize Ironwood in this fic. In fact, later down the road, Ironwood and Atlas may or may not play an interesting role in the story. Who can really tell? Hehehe…

There are so many more I'd like to respond to, but I just didn't get to. I want to thank all that have reviewed. You guys are amazing and I hope this chapter doesn't disappoint!

And with that out of the way, enjoy!

Chapter 3: Devil Fruits and Aura! The Straw Hats arrive at Waterfall Island!

"Hm? Oh, yeah. We didn't tell you yet." Luffy smiled at the all-girl team. "We're pirates!"

Team RWBY was silent for all of three seconds. On the fourth second, what Luffy said finally registered in their minds. At the fifth second, they screamed:

"EEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?!"

Zoro didn't even blink as he took a drink of water. "Well, they took that better than I thought they would," he admitted. He frowned at his mug, hating that he had drunk the last of the booze the day before.

"Just how did you expect them to take it?!" Usopp asked incredulously.

"Y-You guys are pirates?!" Ruby asked, wide eyes flickering from one Straw Hat to another.

"Yeah!" Luffy affirmed with a smile and nod.

"All of you?!" Weiss shouted as her eyes narrowed to glare at the four in front of her.

"Not me," Nami denied quickly and pointing at the other three. "I just have a business relationship with these guys."

"Were you intending to have us lower our guards just to rob us blind?!" Blake hissed, hand on Gambol Shroud. Zoro noticed and grabbed Wado and unsheathed it with an audible click.

Luffy was oblivious to the whole thing as he looked at the huntress in confusion. "Eh? Why would we do that?" he asked.

Weiss stared at the straw hatted teen like he was stupid. "Because that's what pirates do, you idiot!" she shouted at him.

"Not all pirates! Just the bad ones!" Luffy commented again. Weiss growled menacingly.

"There's no such thing as a good pirate!" she ground out through her gnashing teeth.

"Well, I guess your info is crap, since we aren't that kind of crew," Zoro said gruffly. He twisted to put his feet on the table and continued, "Besides, you're from another world. Different world means different rules, right?"

"I-I mean…yeah…" Ruby conceded hesitantly, rubbing her upper arm as she tried to calm the room down again. "B-But, it's still a lot to take in. The only 'good' pirates we've heard of are from movies."

"You've got movies about pirates?!" Luffy asked in childlike excitement. He jumped up and down in his seat and continued, "Most of the movies we have here are all about Marines or sappy love stories! But you've got movies about pirates?!" Yang laughed at the sparkling eyes of the childlike pirate. However, before she could confirm anything, Blake decided to speak up.

"We're getting off subject here," she commented. "Suppose we accept you are 'good' pirates; how can we trust you?"

"Um…because we haven't done anything to betray your trust yet?" Luffy asked, still smiling.

"You haven't earned our trust yet!" Weiss growled.

"That's why you can trust us! We can't betray you if you don't trust us!"

"That makes no sense!" the Straw Hats and Weiss screamed at the rage-inducing captain as they each threw one arm up in a slapping motion.

"Shishishishishishishishishishi!" Luffy laughed. Ruby watched the exchange with a little laugh before she cleared her throat to try and restart the previous discussion.

"Uh, guys? We got off subject again," she called out, regaining their attention. That got Nami to nod in agreement.

"Yeah. You're right," she said. "Anyways, let's continue on. Is there anything else unique about…Remnant, was it?" she asked.

"Sure! There's a lot we could mention!" Ruby smiled as she took out Crescent Rose's compact form. "Like Mecha-shift weapons!" Weiss, Blake, and Yang groaned at this.

"Here we go," Weiss grumbled, but no one paid her any mind.

"Mecha-shift weapons?" Usopp asked in eagerness, wanting to learn more of Remnantian technology. Ruby nodded gleefully and held up Crescent Rose. She pressed a button, and the massive sniper-scythe unfurled to its fully active state, startling the pirates. However, the shock of one Monkey D. Luffy and one Usopp faded quickly as they stared at the scythe with starry eyed wonder.

"WWWWWHHHHHHHOOOOAAAAAAA!" Luffy exclaimed. "Your scythe got small then bigger! That's AWESOME! So, THAT'S where it went! I was wondering where you hid it!"

"Hehe! This is my sweetheart, Crescent Rose!" she proclaimed proudly.

"Wwwwuuuaaaaa!" Usopp shouted. "I-It's beautiful!" Despite his initial fear of the massive weapon, now he could totally appreciate the masterful craftsmanship of the technological marvel. Ruby grinned cheekily.

"I know! This here's the best battle companion a girl could ask for!" she proclaimed happily. Zoro chuckled at that.

"Is that so?" he asked, grinning. Ruby turned and nodded to him.

"Yep!"

"Oh, please, just stop!" Weiss whined. "You shouldn't encourage her! She's already a menace with showcasing her weapon!"

"Hey!" Ruby whined.

"Who cares?! It's a SCYTHE!" Luffy exclaimed. "I've never heard of anyone actually using one to fight with!"

"Yeah! Not many actually can use one back home, either. The only other one I know is my Uncle Qrow!" Ruby explained. "Well, there's those old legends of the Grimm Reaper. She was apparently one of the best scythe wielders in recorded history." Luffy's eyes turned into stars as he listened to Ruby's statement.

"You got your scythe from the Grim Reaper?!" he asked enthusiastically.

"No! But that would be super awesome!" Ruby smiled proudly as she held her beloved scythe higher. "Nah! I made Crescent Rose!" The other members of her team groaned.

"You MADE that?!" the Straw Hats gasped, with Usopp and Luffy's eyes turning into stars as they stared at the younger girl in amazement.

"Of course! Back home, all students at Signal forge their own weapons!" Ruby explained.

"THAT! IS! AWESOME!" Luffy screamed. He leaned forward and pointed at Ruby. "Join my crew!"

"HUH?!" everyone onboard exclaimed comically as they stared at the straw-hatted teen. He just laughed his signature laugh.

"W-Wha-?" Ruby stammered out. Luffy just grinned wider.

"Join my crew!" he said again.

"W-Why?!"

"Because you're awesome!" he explained, as if it was obvious. "We're friends now! And you can make super cool weapons! So, join my crew and let's go be pirates together!"

"She's not joining your pirate crew, dumbass!" Weiss screeched. "She's already a leader! The leader of Team RWBY! A Huntress-in-training!"

"Huntress? What's that?" Zoro asked, shaking his head at the crazy whims of his insane captain.

This caused the girls to turn to him and blink in shock. "You…You don't have Huntsmen and Huntresses?" Ruby asked, her eyes wide as saucers.

"Huh? You mean like those guys who hunt wild boar and deer?" Usopp asked in confusion.

Team RWBY looked at each other, unsure of what they should be feeling at the moment. Ruby looked to the pirate crew and cleared her throat. "Huntsmen and Huntresses are warriors," she explained. "They dedicate their lives to protecting people from the Creatures of Grimm."

"Creatures of Grimm? Sounds ominous," Zoro said casually, though there was a sharp glint in his eyes.

"You don't have those either?" Weiss asked, a bit incredulous. When they shook their heads, she grumbled under her breath. "Lucky."

"Lucky? How?" Nami asked.

"The Creatures of Grimm are the bane of humanity," Blake explained. "They seek nothing but our death and destruction of everything we know and care for."

Usopp began to shiver. "S-Seriously?!"

"Huh. Sounds bad," Luffy commented, not at all intimidated.

"Don't take this lightly!" Weiss admonished the would-be Pirate King. "They may take the form of beasts, but they're more akin to a plague! We've been fending them off since before our own recorded history!"

"That's…bad…" Nami grimaced at the description.

"Yeah," Ruby agreed softly, putting away her weapon. Suddenly, she brightened and continued, "But let's get off the dread fueled talk! Can I see your weapons?!" It was asked eagerly, but it still caused her team to groan in misery.

"I knew it was coming!" Weiss mumbled as she slammed her head onto the table.

Yang just shook her head in exasperation. "Classic Ruby," she commented dryly. Blake just rolled her eyes.

The fledgling pirate crew stared at the teen confusedly. However, Usopp didn't stay slack jawed long, as he grinned widely and jumped onto the table. "Sure thing! Behold!" he shouted dramatically, as he reached into his overalls and pulled out his slingshot. "True! It does not hold a candle-nay! A match stick!-to your Crescent Rose, Ruby! But I can assure you, I am the best sniper you'll find in the East Blue with this humble slingshot!"

"Oooooooohhhhhhhhh!" Ruby was immediately enraptured, staring at the, admittedly, primitive slingshot with wide, starry eyes.

"Ugh!" Weiss grimaced as she lifted her head from the table. "A slingshot? Really?"

Usopp's bravado faltered. "What kind of tone is that?!" he shouted at the white-haired girl. Luffy laughed at the exchange.

"Anyways," Nami drawled, attempting to get back on track, again. "I doubt you'd see much interesting about my staff. Just plain old wood."

"No," Zoro told her gruffly. "No one touches my swords but me." Ruby whined at that.

"Oh, come on!"

"No. Just, no."

"Awwwwww!" Ruby pouted at that, but she quickly recovered and turned to Luffy. "What about you?! Where's your weapon?!"

"Eh, I don't have one," he said simply. He grinned and held his right arm up and grasped his bicep. "My punches are as strong as pistols!"

Yang grinned at that. "'Strong as pistols,' eh?" she asked challengingly. The dark-haired teen just grinned widely at her and nodded. She laughed. "I'll take that bet!" she shouted and slammed her elbow onto the table, hand opened. "Let's test that strength of yours, shall we?!"

Luffy's grin widened, if that was possible. "Ok!" And then, to RWBY's surprise, Luffy threw his arm out, and it stretched all the way to Yang. His hand grasped hers as he suddenly was launched towards her and landed on the bench in front of the of the blonde brawler. "Let's do this!" he shouted, oblivious to the looks he was getting from the all-girl team.

Yang recovered quickly and smirked at the pirate captain. "Heeyy! That's a pretty neat Semblance you got there! I bet you got quite the 'elastic' personality as well, don't cha?"

This caused Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Nami to groan at the terrible pun. However, the remnants of RWBY didn't groan long because Luffy and Usopp burst into loud laughter. The three Huntresses in training turned to them, eyes wide as Luffy spoke up.

"That was so funny!" the pirate captain giggled.

Zoro just smirked. "Not bad a pun there, blondie," he commented.

RWB's eyes widened in horror as Yang stared at the men incomprehensively for a moment. "No," Blake murmured as Yang's face blossomed into a wide, cheery grin. She jumped up and hollered victoriously.

"This is awesome!" she cheered, bringing Luffy up on the table to dance with him. "I've finally found people who think I'm funny!"

"This can't be happening!" Weiss whispered in horror.

"Dad was wrong! Nightmares CAN come to life!" Ruby shouted in terror, throwing her hands in the air.

Luffy just laughed with Yang, dancing alongside her. "So, are gonna arm wrestle now?!" he asked impatiently. Yang stopped dancing and grinned as she jumped off the table and sat down again.

"Sure! Just make sure you don't use your Semblance, and we're good!" she told him.

"Eh? What's a Sembrace?" Luffy asked. Team RWBY looked at him in shock.

"Y-You don't know what a Semblance is?" Ruby asked hesitantly.

"No, should we?" Zoro asked in confusion.

"What about Aura?!" Yang asked loudly, her eyes were wide as she stared at the bewildered pirate grasping her hand.

"Aura? You mean like our souls?" Zoro questioned again with a raised eyebrow.

The other-worlders glanced at each other, then at the pirates in front of them. Silently, they turned to Weiss, who sighed and turned to address their hosts. "I'm going to go out on a limb and say you don't know about Aura in the way we do," she started. "For us, Aura is the manifestation of our souls. We use it to shield ourselves from damage, heal wounds, and with enough training, can manifest it further as a Semblance, an innate power that's unique from person to person. You can think of it as a more tangible form of Aura, if you'd like."

The pirates were once again stunned by this revelation, each processing this new bit of information differently. Luffy, however, just nodded and slammed his fist into his hand again. "So, it's a mystery power!" he declared in confidence.

Weiss growled in annoyance at the scatterbrained pirate, but Yang decided to stop Mount Schnee from erupting by asking the other question on their minds: "Well, if what Luffy did wasn't a Semblance, what was it?"

"Oh! That's easy!" Luffy smiled and grabbed the side of his mouth and stretched it impossibly wide. The all-girl team gaped at his display. "I'm a rwubber man!" he told them before he let go of his face, allowing it to fly back into place with an audible snap.

"That's not an explanation!" Blake told him flatly. She turned to Nami, who seemed to be the brains of the crew, and asked, "What is his power if not Aura?"

Nami frowned a bit. "Luffy ate what we call a Devil Fruit," she explained.

"A…Devil Fruit?" Ruby asked. Nami nodded to her.

"Yeah. I don't know much about them, though. Heck, before Luffy, I didn't even believe they existed, but the basic rundown is Devil Fruits are special types of fruit that will grant the one eating it supernatural powers," she explained. "Like you've just seen, the one Luffy ate turned his entire body into rubber."

"That's…bizarre," Weiss commented with a frown. Fruits that could give people who ate them powers? That sounded like something straight out of those comic books Ruby read from time to time.

Ruby's eyes were wide as she processed what she had just heard. "You mean you have magic fruits that give you superpowers?!" she asked giddily, jittering in place as she thought of her wielding Crescent Rose while throwing around lightning bolts and fireballs everywhere. That would be so awesome!

"Basically, yes!" Nami said with a chuckle. Ruby's reaction was pretty cute, after all!

"That's awesome!" Yang smirked at Luffy and winked. "Now I'm more hyped to see how strong you are with that magic fruit power!" Luffy laughed loudly and smirked back at her.

"It wouldn't matter since I could beat you without 'em!" he told her, making her laugh back.

"Them's fightin' words, buddy!" the blonde brawler growled, but before they could start their competition, Usopp spoke up.

"Wait, you said Aura is a manifestation of your souls, right?" he asked, gaining nods from the Huntress team. "Could we get a demonstration? Sorry, it's just I'd like some hard evidence in your favor."

"No problem!" Ruby smiled as she jumped up. "Watch this!" Suddenly, a bright red glow flashed around Ruby's body, and then she disappeared in a flurry of rose petals and subsequently reappeared beside the long-nosed teen. He screamed in surprise, while the interlopers snickered at his reaction.

The other Straw Hats were shocked by the display, but Luffy recovered quickly and shouted, "WHOOOOAAAAA! THAT WAS AWESOME!" He pulled away from Yang and jumped to his feet, his eyes turned into shining stars as he continued, "YOU TURNED INTO ROSE PETALS AND FLEW AT USOPP!"

Ruby jolted a bit, turning to the Straw hatted teen in confusion. "What are you talking about? My Semblance is Speed!" she told him.

"No way! I saw it!" Luffy contradicted. "I saw your body become rose petals and fly at Usopp! It was so coooool!"

"Really?" Nami asked, looking around confused. "It just liked she teleported to me!"

"No, I saw it, too," Zoro commented. "It's just like Luffy described." Team RWBY's eyes widened as they gained confirmation of Luffy's claim.

Ruby wasn't sure what to make of her Semblance not being what she thought it was. However, she had other priorities to worry about and turned to Usopp again. "S-So, was that all you wanted to see, Usopp?" she asked, forcing herself to stay on the task at hand.

"Huh? O-Oh! Yeah! Yeah, that was great!" Usopp smiled at the Huntress in training and commented, "Just one last thing! If it's alright, I'd like to test that shielding from damage part."

"Sure thing! I'll take ya up on that!" Yang said, grinning as she jumped up to her feet, but Ruby stopped her.

"I've got a better idea!" She smiled and turned face Usopp, but before she could do anything else, Weiss suddenly jumped up and lightly bonked her on the head. The silver eyed teen whined a bit as Weiss gave her a dull stare.

"No," she told her.

"But Weeiisssss…!" she protested, but she was cut off.

"Ruby, if you were about to do what I think you were going to, then as your friend, and partner, I must insist you not try," she told her sternly.

"But it would be the best way to show them what we're talking about!" she countered.

"Then, at the very least, let someone perform it who has better Aura control than you do," Weiss retorted back. Ruby scowled at that, but she otherwise backed down and moved out of the way as Weiss moved up to Usopp.

The curly haired teen gulped in trepidation as the blue-eyed Huntress marched up to him with a stern expression. "U-Um…Weiss? What are you-" he tried to ask, but the heiress cut him off.

"Just trust me," she snapped and placed her hands on his chest. He blushed and spluttered at the action, but Weiss's voice brought him back to coherence. "Now, I need you to close your eyes and concentrate," she ordered.

"C-Concentrate on what?" he asked.

"You'll know. Now, do it!" Usopp swallowed his spit and did as he was told. Nami, Luffy, and Zoro were wondering what the girl was doing as Weiss closed her eyes, breathing in deeply and exhaling slowly. Suddenly, her eyes snapped open, and she was covered in a bright white glow.

The remaining Straw Hats gasped at this, but didn't say anything as Weiss chanted: "For it is in passing, that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all." As Weiss continued to speak, Nami and Zoro were shocked to see a bright green glow radiate from Usopp. Luffy's eyes widened in amazement as he observed the two. Ruby, Blake, and Yang shared a smug and amused grin at their expressions.

Weiss ignored all this as she continued forward. "Infinite in distance and unbound by death, I release your soul, and by my shoulder, protect thee," she finished, as the white glow around her faded, and she fell to her knees with a groan.

"Huh?" Usopp opened his eyes and saw Weiss fall to the ground. "W-Weiss?!" He panicked a bit before he knelt down next to her. "Oh my gosh! Are you ok?!" he cried.

"I'm fine," the Schnee heiress mumbled. "It's just…very taxing unlocking someone's Aura."

"Unlock his-You can do that?!" Nami asked, her eyes widening as she stared at the girl.

"Yep!" Ruby chirped, bouncing as she went over to help her teammate to her feet with Usopp's help. "It takes a huge toil on the one unlocking it, though," she admitted offhandedly.

Luffy couldn't contain his excitement as let loose a cry of amazement. "You gave Usopp the mystery power?! That's so coooool!"

Weiss growled at the pirate's persistence of Aura being a 'mystery power,' but unlocking Usopp's Aura had drained her, so she just allowed herself to be led to the table and sat down. After she was seated, Ruby turned to Usopp and said, "Alright! Now that you've got Aura, you can test it for yourself!" Usopp blinked at her before he realized she was right. He grinned widely.

"Hey! You're right!" He turned to Yang and asked, "Hey! Could you…?" He made a punching motion at her. The blonde beauty grinned. Nami, Luffy, and Zoro watched silently, wondering how this would play out.

"Absolutely!" Yang walked over to him and readied herself. "Tell me when," she told him. He nodded resolutely.

"D-Do your worst!" he told her. Her grin darkened.

"Grit your teeth!" she told him and slammed her fist into his face. Green light flickered around Usopp as he stumbled away from her. Nami and Zoro rushed to him, and he groaned loudly, his eyes closed. The two grabbed his shoulders to steady him.

"Usopp! Are you ok?" Nami asked.

"Y-Yeah…" Usopp steadied himself and opened his eyes. "That…hurt surprisingly less than I thought it would…" Yang smiled.

"That's the power of Aura!" she explained. "It can even supplement your own physical abilities in combat, and you can coat your bullets and weapons in it to strengthen them!" Usopp's eyes bulged open again.

"S-Seriously?! Aura is that versatile?!" he questioned. Blake just rolled her eyes. Pirate he may claim to be, but it was clear to her Usopp wasn't a murderous cutthroat.

"Yep! How else do you think we've survived millennia of fighting with Grimm?" she replied with a smirk.

"THAT'S. SO. COOOOOLLLL!" Luffy shouted again. His eyes were shining like stars again as he pointed at Yang. "It's settled then! I want all four of you to join my crew!"

"Absolutely not!" Weiss hissed.

"No thanks," Blake told him. "I'm willing to give you lot the benefit of the doubt, and say you're not the standard pirate by any stretch, but I have no desire to be associated with piracy."

"Awwwww!" Luffy whined. He turned to the half-sisters and grinned again. "Come on! Let's go be pirates together!" he ordered them, making Yang laugh.

"Sorry, Luffy! While that sounds like a lot of fun, I go where Ruby goes! No more, no less!" The blonde's head turned to her sister, and she winked at her. Ruby rolled her eyes as Luffy turned to her with his wide grin.

"Sorry, Luffy," she told him. "But I can't be a pirate." He pouted at that. "I've got my own goals to achieve."

"Goals?" he asked. She smiled and nodded.

"I'm going to become a Huntress," she said simply.

It was a simple statement, but to Zoro and Luffy, they could hear the resolve in her voice. It was obvious to them that when the younger girl spoke of becoming a 'Huntress,' it wasn't some fantasy for her.

It was a fact.

She knew she was going to be a Huntress.

That made Zoro's respect for the girl rise. She was dedicating her life to being a fighter, destined to fight monsters that threatened the whole of humanity. There wasn't a shred of doubt in her mind about the outcome.

Luffy smiled at her. He could tell how much being a Huntress meant to her simply by her tone. It was almost like with Coby, but Ruby was certainly stronger than his little cowardly friend by a long shot. He knew for certain she'd accomplish her dream. That said…

"That's cool," Luffy told her with a smile. "But I've already decided that you four are joining my crew!"

Ruby, Yang, and Blake blinked bewilderedly, taken aback at his insistence. Weiss, however, was growing tired of the pirate's insolence. Who was he to demand such a thing from them?! He did not hold any power over them!

"And why should we even consider joining your crew of miscreants?!" she demanded of the pirate captain.

"Hey!" the other three 'miscreants' shouted at her with shark teeth and white eyes.

"Because I said so!" Luffy replied. "And being a pirate is fun!"

"And who are you to demand we join your pirate crew!"

"Your new captain, of course!"

"Ugh! For the love of-We've already told you we don't want anything to do with your criminal activities!"

"We're not that kind of pirates!" Luffy protested.

Weiss ground her teeth together in an effort to stay calm. "Luffy?" she tried again. "I'm going to ask this very slowly, so you can understand me: Just what does being a pirate mean to you?"

"Oh! That's easy!" Luffy's grin widened. "Freedom!"

"Huh/What?" came the confused reactions of team RWBY. Even Usopp, Nami, and Zoro were interested in what Luffy was saying. Luffy just continued smiling.

"Being a pirate means you're free to do whatever you want! Go wherever you please! It means that you are your own person!" Luffy took off his hat and stared down at it as he continued, "That's what being a pirate means!"

The all-girl team looked at the teen dumbfounded. It was a…much deeper explanation than they were expecting. Ruby and Yang looked at each other with matching smiles. From the way he said it, the half-sisters could assume that their new friend greatly valued his independence. Luffy made being a pirate sound cool!

Blake, meanwhile, found herself mulling over what the pirate captain had said. Despite taking into account they were in a different world, she was having trouble believing in Luffy's romanticized idea of piracy. It wasn't anything against him or his crew-they all seemed like kind people, with the exception of Zoro, who just screamed danger-but she couldn't help her suspicions.

The image of a red-haired bull Faunus attempted to superimpose itself on Luffy, but Blake pushed it away.

Weiss, on the other hand, found herself affected most by Luffy's speech. She wanted to scoff at it. Obviously, his speech was nothing more than a glorified uplifting of a felonious lifestyle! Yet, a piece of her couldn't believe that, no matter how much she tried not to. The thought of being free, of being able to make your own choices…it spoke to a part of her that she had only just begun to embrace by being a Huntress.

For as long as she could remember, she had lived under her father's strict and harsh rule. It was only after deciding to be a Huntress that she had begun to have a sense of freedom from the oppressive atmosphere her father casted upon her. She grimaced and turned away from him, lost in her turbulent thoughts.

The other Straw Hats were just as thoughtful at their captain's little speech. Nami hid a grimace, trying not to show any emotion. How different was her life and Luffy's that he could say such things about being a pirate? She couldn't understand it. Why could Luffy be so positive about pirates while she had only ever seen the darker side of that profession?

Zoro just smirked. While he never planned on being a pirate, he could admit that Luffy had a point. Being a pirate meant you had no rules to follow but the ones you made for yourself, and the green haired swordsman found he was fine with that. It didn't matter in the end, because as long as he could achieve his goals, it would be worth it.

Usopp stared at Luffy with wide eyes. He trembled a bit as he thought over Luffy's words. He agreed with every word Luffy spoke, and he couldn't help but think if he could be that confident one day. When he became a brave warrior of the seas…

Nami shook her head of her turbulent thoughts and looked out the porthole to her right. It was dark out now. She sighed in exhaustion. With all the excitement, they had lost track of time, and now she was drained from the experience. "Hey, guys," she called out. "It's getting late. How's about we cut this off and start back in the morning, 'kay?"

Luffy looked put off by that, but the girls just looked at each other and then to Weiss. "Yeah, that sounds good!" Ruby said, smiling. "I think a good night's rest will do us all some good!" Nami nodded at that and smiled.

"Great! You'll be sleeping in my room tonight! Can't have you sleeping below deck with all the gross sweaty men now, can we?" Nami asked teasingly, getting Yang to laugh.

"Oi!" the three guys exclaimed at the orange haired thief indignantly, causing the other members of the all-girl team snickering.

It had been a day and a half since team RWBY landed on the deck of the Going Merry.

And in that time, Luffy had been utterly insistent on them joining his crew. He did everything in his power to try and convince them to join. He dragged Yang and Ruby into games of tag around the Merry with Usopp. He incessantly bugged Weiss and Blake by asking several random questions about Remnant, to which they answered in various levels of amusement and annoyance, depending on who and what he asked.

Ruby couldn't help but smile at this enthusiasm. It was nice that he wanted them to join, but they had other concerns; like getting home. Luffy had insisted he'd help them get home if they joined his crew, but Weiss denied that, saying they would not be blackmailed into joining his crew.

Zoro looked a little annoyed when that argument started. Ruby wondered why.

Thankfully, Nami had informed them that they were coming up on an island soon where the all-girl team could disembark and find a Marine base, the military forces for the entire world, and request some aid. Apparently, whatever brought team RWBY to Susanos (the name of the planet they were on now) had knocked the pirate crew off course and caused a little bit of minor damage to the ship. Luckily, however, they ended up relatively close to where they had washed up. So, with Nami directing the three male crew members (and RWBY as well, since Ruby volunteered them to help), they were now in route to a place called Waterfall Island.

The silver eyed teen was excited. This would be the first island she'd see in this new world. She felt like an explorer discovering a lost world right now! She stood next to the figurehead with Luffy as the island came into view. She was jittery, bouncing in place as they got closer.

"There it is!" Nami said as she came to stand next Ruby. Yang, Blake, and Weiss walked up behind her. "Waterfall Island!" The Remnant natives gasped in awe and wonder as the island grew closer. In the center of the island was a massive collection of tower-shaped mountains that had a multitude of waterfalls cascading down the stone surfaces.

"No wonder they call it Waterfall Island!" Blake exclaimed; her amber eyes wide as she tried to take in the entire scope of the island. The towering mountains were surrounded by a lush, green forest that put even the Emerald Forest to shame. The town itself had several tall, tannish-white buildings that broke through the greenery, giving a nice contrast between all the vibrant colors.

"It's…it's beautiful!" Weiss said breathlessly. Sure, there were some breathtaking places on Remnant, but the Schnee heiress had only seen a few, but none of them, save perhaps Atlas (seeing athe massive island hovering in a starry sky above a snowy valley never got old), could truly match the grandness of the truly alien isle before her.

Yang stared at the exotic island with wide eyes. "Oh my gosh!" Her eyes swiveled around as she drank in the site of the majestic site before her. "It's even bigger than Patch!"

"Whooooaaaaaaa!" Ruby breathed in amazement. She looked from one waterfall to another, watching the water spray of each fall create small hazy rainbows. "This place looks so-"

"COOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLL!" Luffy screamed out, completing Ruby's thought. His eyes had turned into stars as he stared up at the pinnacle of the mountain.

"WOWW!" Usopp shouted as well. "It's HUGE!"

"Just remember, we're not here for sightseeing!" Zoro told the long-nosed liar. "We need to repair the Merry."

"Zoro's right!" Nami said as she turned to the three males. "While Usopp makes the repairs, I'll be going ashore to find us some provisions since Luffy ate the last of our food last night!"

"Shishishishishishishi!" Luffy laughed, his eyes closed and grin wide as he held his hat on his head.

"While I'm doing that, I'll also take the girls to the Marine base so they can converse with them about what has happened to them," Nami continued. Ruby nodded at her.

"Sounds like a plan!"

"Great! Now everyone! Get ready! We're about to make landfall!"

An: And with that, my OC arc, the Waterfall Island arc, has started up! I hope you guys liked this chapter! What did you all think of Waterfall Island? What about Usopp getting Aura? About the name I gave the One Piece planet, since I don't think it's ever actually given one (The planet name "Susanos" is named after the Shinto god of the seas, Susanoo)? Please, let me know! The next chapter will be out early October, hopefully. 'Till next time!
