Chapter 1- Creation of the Multiverse

""The universe is full of magical things, patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper"

Eden Phillpotts

At the very beginning, there was nothing. Just nothing. No life, space, or matter. Then, from that came the first deity to step foot. This being was manifested from absolutely nothing, yet his very birth caused the cosmological event known to the mortals of Earth as the Big Bang. This deity was known by many, many names. His original name can't be written in the English language but the closest translation is Helix. This being was also known as Chaos, The Presence, The First One, the father of the Void or in more recent times, The Entity.

As the multiverse came into existence, Helix noted that it was, well, essentially Chaotic. The multiverse was in complete imbalance, the energy that was released by its birth was wreaking havoc everywhere, uncontrollable and filled with absolute destruction. Everywhere, there were things breaking, clashing, and things were collapsing. And as powerful as Helix was, he was just a new born being and couldn't control it all.

But Helix wasn't stupid. As new as he was, he was gifted with incredible intelligence. After all, he wasn't just the creator of the universe. He was the universe. He was the representation of the very universe he lived in, but he had a physical form. Hence, he could understand the direness of the predicament that he was in.

Therefore, he came up with the abstract idea that we know today as the Ancient Laws. Now there are far too many points of confusion on the topic of Ancient Laws and what they are. Some believe that they were a set of rules written by the gods that they had to obey so not to interfere with mortal lives as often as they did. Others believed that they were just warnings written by the Fates themselves that all immortal beings had to obey to keep things intact. However, all of these are misconceptions.

The Ancient Laws aren't exactly like the laws of mankind that are written on a piece of paper and are agreed to be followed in exchange to be allowed to live on that land. In fact, they are far more complex than that. They are the primal essence that bind and tie the primordial powers of the universe that keep the flow of energy intact in order to maintain balance and order. With them come a set of limitations and rules that are placed in order to maintain that balance throughout the multiverse to ensure that no two universes could collide with one another and recreate the catastrophe that had occurred at the beginning of time.

Now, due to the creation of the Ancient Laws, this had an unusual side effect. As said earlier, the Ancient Laws ensures that there was balance. So, to balance out the birth of Helix, there came forth another being. Some may call him the Anti-Helix or the Anti-Entity. Just like his counterpart, his name can't be written in the English Language, however, the closest translation would be Dynamix.

As Helix was born to create, Dynamix was born to destroy. One would think that due to their polar opposite natures, they'd be at odds with one another. But this was not the case. In fact, they worked in harmony with one another, trying out new and different experiments all across the multiverse. Helix would create something after careful planning and if it went well, it'd remain there, but if it ended up being a disaster or too dangerous, Dynamix would destroy it.

As time progressed on, the universe was starting to shape itself pretty well. Helix and Dynamix had quite a lot of success with their creations and it was starting to have a positive effect on the universe. But, as powerful as Helix was, managing all the aspects of the universe was starting to take a toll on him and despite all of his abilities, he couldn't always keep track of all the factors that made up the universe. So, by using his power and will, Helix gave life and physical form to the different aspects of the multiverse with the responsibility of maintaining the very domain they represented.

This caused the creation of a new race of beings known as the Protogenoi. They were known by other names as well, such as Primordials in the Greek Pantheon. These Protogenoi were the manifestation of the constituent elements that coalesce the multiverse. The eldest of them all was Nyxeuneknown to the Greeks as Nyx the personification of the Night realm within the boundaries of space and time. The domain of night was far more complex than just seeing the night sky, but more the representation of the dome of darkness that clouded over the universe. Alongside her birth was also the birth of Erebesceneknown to the Greeks as Erebusthe manifestation of darkness, who'd later become Nyxeune's consort.

Then came along others that were born from the blood and will of Helix such as Tellesiumknown to the Greeks as Gaiawho was the personification of the Earth and the land. She was also commonly known as the mother of Life as her flesh, blood and womb gave birth to many different lower life forms that resided throughout the multiverse. Also came along Hydrosaneknown to the Greeks as Pontusthe personification of all flowing liquids provided life to many beings and had a vital importance of keeping the universe intact. Then there were a few more such as Chronos (whose name didn't quite change) who was the representation of Time and the flow of Natural Order, Taiancy-Anke (known to the Greeks as Ananke) who was the representation of Fate and Destiny. Her role was one of the most important ones to Helix as she helped him keep his creation experiments under control by her vast intelligence and her incredible foresight. The last few were Erostus (known to the Greeks as Eros), who was the representation of Love and Desire and also Procreation, which would allow the second-generation of Protogenoi to come into existence. There was also Empereneus (known to the Greeks as Ouranos) who was the representation of the Upper Atmosphere and the heavens. And lastly Tartarean (known to the Greeks as Tartarus) who represented the dark dome that resided in the under-depths of the multiverse. Over time, they gained control of more domains but these elements were their original representations.

A key point to understand here is that even though these beings among the most powerful beings in the universe, their abilities were limited in certain cases. The Multiverse was very complicated, some universes had different laws of physics and matter thus certain parts of their abilities were constricted in those realms. Of course, there were more Protogenoi, some made by the first-generation race, some made by Helix later on when he saw fit but they were the original beings.

As Dynamix saw the creation of these Protogenoi, he started getting slightly suspicious and paranoid. Did Helix not need him anymore? Was he beginning to trust these new deities more than him? Helix had been slightly distant to him recently and at first Dynamix wasn't quite sure of the reason but now he was beginning to get even more paranoid. He started to fear that Helix was planning to overthrow him. So, Dynamix gave birth to a race as well. They were known as the Marauders. They were the same class as the Protogenoi however their divine abilities came from Dynamix rather than Helix. There was End, Null, Infinite and Essence. All of them were representations of different forms of destruction and they all drew their powers from the magic that flowed within the universe.

The reason why Helix was distant from Dynamix was because he started fearing him slightly. Although Helix was ultimately the most powerful of all, it did unnerve him watching Dynamix wield his powers of destruction. He realised how powerful Dynamix truly was, wiping out large masses of creation with little effort. He had no reason to be suspicious of him, but as ashamed as he was to say it, he feared Dynamix's powers. Given the right tools and opportunity, Dynamix could overthrow him and his entire creation and if Helix was to be honest, Dynamix's anthropomorphic form was a little bit…. well insane. He took a bit too much pleasure in decimating things, ridding life and creation and always seemed a bit too eager to destroy things. He was also getting a bit too careless in his fun, sometimes letting himself get far too absorbed; so much that he'd end up destroying neighbouring galaxies. Soon enough in his carelessness, he ended up destroying an entire universe. This drove a wedge between him and Helix.

Helix was angry and he confronted Dynamix and both of them had a massive argument over it which didn't go well. Helix demanded that Dynamix had to pay some sort of price for his mistakes but Dynamix refused to do so. Both deities caught up in their pride and anger refused to back down and the tension that had been present in between both of them started to expand into hatred. Dynamix, who had enough by then, began attacking Helix and it turned into a full-scale battle. Helix, who was caught off guard at first, immediately retaliated and both of them began duelling one another. The only problem was, due to the commotion made by the two, the other protogenoi decided to see what was happening. Dynamix knew he was outmatched, outnumbered and would be captured. He immediately disappeared with full intent of returning for war.

Both Helix and Dynamix began preparing for the very first war of the Multiverse. Helix summoned all of the Protogenoi that existed at that time, informed them of what was to come and began preparing them for battle. With the help of Taiancy-Anke and Tellesium, he formed the Phenoses, a group of spirits that were hardened for war. They had some sort of sentience and will but it was very limited as Taiancy foresaw that if they were given complete free will and full life, there was a good likelihood that they could get out of control and perhaps some could be swayed to betray them. Hence, they were only given enough will to learn the art of combat and make decisions in battle but with the help of Tellesium, she inscribed their loyalty to them and Helix within their blood. They also had a few divine abilities given by Tellesium, such as being able to control the land underneath them to a very limited extent for creating barriers to shield them or to create fortresses for them to camp at.

Helix also ordered Empereneus to create a method of transportation that the Phenoses could use as they didn't have the ability to teleport through the barriers of space and time. So, he created the Airnomes, spirits of the wind that could travel through the Upper Atmosphere and if tamed properly, the Phenoses could use them to travel between locations at a relatively fast pace.

On the other side, Dynamix called upon the Marauders. Though their creation was a bit later than the Protogenoi, they had still managed to expand their race with enough beings for battle. Just like Helix, Dynamix formed the Caneos with the help of Null and Infinite. They were four-legged creatures with extremely sharp teeth, a very sharp sense of smell and hearing, incredible eyesight and they were the spirits of darkness. They were beyond savage, only mingled with their kind, obeyed Dynamix above all other beings, and destroyed anything that was the slightest bit threatening to them. Thanks to the power of Infinite, they were able to breed at an alarmingly fast rate, their population increasing quickly. Next Dynamix and End created Merkese. They were warriors with only one goalto bring death to whatever enemy they were pointed at by their masters.

Dynamix began the war by sending in his troops to begin his attack on Helix. He purposefully sent them to the first universe, the very first universe through the multiverse when Helix began his life as he knew that it'd cause him the most anger. Helix was slightly more protective of that universe compared to the other ones hence why he was more careful in that realm.

Then, he began raising many more Marauders in order to gain more allies on his side with grand abilities that could help him. He also ordered the original four to begin consorting with the other ones to give birth to even more dangerous beings who could potentially help him gain more control having descended from powerful parents.

The war went on for many eons. Even though Helix was more powerful, Dynamix was cunning and he knew Helix better than any other being, having spent more time with him than anyone else ever had. He knew his strengths, weaknesses, blind points and many other factors. Likewise, Helix knew Dynamix almost as well as himself. He knew how Dynamix operated and how his mind worked. Because of this, the war was pretty much even on both sides, neither one able to overpower the other.

However, things finally took a turn in favour of Helix. End consorted with Infinite and one of their children was called Rein. Now Rein was a bit of a special case for some reason. He was the Marauder of destruction, powers from his grandfather Dynamix, the Marauder of Magic from his mother Infinite and the Marauder of War and Death, domains he received from his father End. But being the representation of death, he could understand why there was death throughout the war and for what cause but being who he was, he couldn't help but disagree with the rest of his kind. Due to his domains, he could tell that Helix's motives were for the betterment of creation and that Dynamix's reason for war was not justifiable in his eyes. Therefore, when Rein saw an opportunity, he snuck off and requested an audience with Lord Helix. He explained to him why he wished to defect to their side, agreeing to be a spy for their cause and to help them end the war.

So as the war progressed on, Rein sent them secret messages, relaying the plans of his kind via radiation signals that he and Helix had created in order to communicate with one another. He had also gained another ally who saw reason to his view. Castra, the second daughter of Null and Essence, the Marauder of Energy, Absorption, and Stars. Soon enough, the tides for the Protogenoi started rising as they began conquering through. Dynamix, who was still unaware of the treason, started to become more reckless in his plans for war.

Soon enough, after losing another battle, he completely lost his mind, gathered all of his army at one place and demanded complete annihilation. Rein, who had heard this just in time, hastened to warn Helix of what was happening. Helix gathered all of the Protogenoi and used a few of his Phenoses as bait to where Dynamix was going towards while having the rest of the army hiding up using Airnomes and all the Protogenoi masked in the shadows.

Sure enough, once they had arrived and took the bait, the rest of them swooped in and took out the rest of them. The Phenoses battled against the Merkese while Tartarean used all of his strength and his pet hounds to burn through most of the Caneos, completely destroying them. The other Protogenoi battled their counterpart beings and easily outnumbered them, having being prepared for their arrival. Helix and Dynamix had their fiercest battle that was ever seen, their fight causing the Multiverse to shake and tremble before their power. However, Rein came through, using his abilities alongside the rest of the Protogenoi to bring down the rest of his grandfather's army, and at the last moment, Helix was able to use his abilities as the true Lord of the Universe to defeat Dynamix. He took Dynamix to a planet that he created specifically for imprisoning him and sealed him away for eternity.

Now that the war was finally over, Helix could finally continue from where he left off. Rein and Castra were welcomed into the ranks of the Protogenoi as a reward for their assistance for overthrowing their kind and were granted rewards by Helix as a notion of gratitude.

Helix continued off with his creations after the defeat of Dynamix. The unfortunate incident was that their main battle occurred in the first Universe, which was Helix's prized universe. It was the very universe where he began his life and began his creations hence, he wanted this universe to be the embodiment of perfection. But now, that was not going to be possible, especially after the mess created by the war. However, Helix found something new to occupy his interest. In the aftermath of this battle, some new substance filled the universe as a side effect of the energy blasted from the confrontation between Helix and Dynamix and the death of other Darkenos. It was some sort of powerful reactive cosmic energy. Helix decided to name it Flux. He identified it as a different form of magic, one that had a lot of potential energy stored inside of it. Helix figured out that rather than it being just any ordinary magic that could be manipulated to change aspects of their surroundings, instead it could be used as a way of amplifying the power of another form of magic.

After discovering this, Helix continued with his creations but with a twist. He had learnt quite a lot by the formation of the Phenoses, understanding how he could create different life forms but by reducing the divinity in their blood, they were given more freedom from the ancient laws, allowing them to be capable of feats that Helix himself could not do.

From this knowledge, he formed a new planet by the name of Paradoxia. He used immense amounts of Flux to make it powerful enough to be able to handle his divine power alongside his fellow Protogenoi. This took a bit longer than his other creations but with the help of Castra and Taiancy, he managed to form the new planet. He decided to use this planet as the main gateway to the Void, where most of their kind resided. Then he decided to create the race of Paradoxians, a civilisation that'd be guided under his directions to begin advancements in the universe. He also let certain of the Protogenoi have permission to create other life forms, only after making them promise to ensure they took precautions to not make them too powerful that they could cause disastrous consequences.

Now Helix wondered, what'd happen if he were to create a civilisation but didn't interact with. Just an entirely new race that he'd keep watch over but not interact with. How would they survive? How would they advance? Would they do well?

Helix knew he wouldn't be able to keep an eye on them at all times. Every single Protogenos had the ability to co-exist in different places across the Multiverse simultaneously. Helix wanted to devote a part of him to just keep watch over that galaxy, and specifically that civilisation. So, he came up with a plan. It was one that had never been done before but he was the creator and ruler of the universe so perhaps it was possible for him to do so. He created another version of himself but this time he began shaping its personality and its intent. He named this version of himself as Chaos.

Then he went to Tellesium, asking her for help as she was the expert in life forms, having given birth to many of them. He explained to her what he had done and she agreed to help under the condition that she would be the embodiment of the new planet and be given reign over its land. Helix agreed. Tellesium then followed in Helix's footsteps, creating a separate identity for the planet and named her Gaia. They gathered a few of the other protogenos and all of them created personas for this new galaxy and helped forming the new planet. Then they left the galaxy completely, allowing their new personas to continue populating the civilisation while they watched from afar. And so, began the creation of the Greek world.

Helix then continued as usual, travelling across the multiverse, learning new things and experimenting with his abilities to advance the Multiverse. And thus, the Multiverse began to populate and their people began to progress.

Author's Note: Well as many of you on my discord know, I've been wanting to do this story for a long while. The prequel of this story is what inspired me to start writing on here and to get a chance to write out the sequel for this is absolutely amazing. Of course, one thing to keep in mind is that my main story is Roman Percy as that's what I'm most proud of so far but I'll try to update this as regularly as I can.

I want to thank Pterygio for letting me write a sequel to this story, and also for being the beta reader for this, he's helped me formulate my ideas so I can write them properly and has helped with some editing of this chapter. So thanks a lot fot that!

Well that's all from me for now. Leave a review, let me know what you all think so far. I do love reading feedback from people.

That's about it from me
