Kings of the Con
Two days after the Ace Savvy convention, the sisters were relaxing on the couch watching TV and Lincoln laying on the carpet reading a Muscle Fish comic when Loris phone rang.
Looking at the screen Lori gasped upon seeing the name of one of the movie producers and called out, "It's one of the producers."
The other siblings then crowded around Lori to listen in on the conversation.
Hello Lori said eagerly
"Hello Lori, this is Mr. Clarke I have some bad news. I regret to say the movie will be cancelled indefinitely," the producer responded leaving the siblings taken aback.
"But why," Leni uttered.
"You see our financial backer was arrested yesterday for embezzlement and he's the one who was going to fund the entire movie so we have no choice but to cancel the movie," Mr. Clarke replied with regret in his voice.
"Can't you find someone else to finance the movie?" Lynn asked desperately into the phone from her position next to Lori.
"Sorry it will take months to eventually find someone else but there's other bad news, an hour before Mr. Welles arrest, we had a meeting with the actors who were going to play Ace and One Eyed because they wanted more money," Mr. Clarke replied.
"And then," Lori thought.
"They each wanted two thousand dollars more but we could only them offer eight hundred so they quit," Mr. Clarke continued.
Lola was getting furious at the news and began fuming.
"It could also take months probably over a year to audition other people before we find the right persons to replace them, and we're out of sufficient funds to continue," the producer said.
Lori sighed, "Okay thanks for calling us, Mr. Clarke."
When Lori hung up, Lola stamped her right foot angrily and shouted, "My chance of getting my pretty face on the silver screen is shattered."
"Lola calm down," Luan protested.
The self-proclaimed princess grabbed Luan by her collar and pulled her down to her level.
"Don't you tell me to calm down," Lola yelled before releasing Luan then stormed upstairs to scream into her pillow.
After Lola disappeared, Luna addressed Lincoln, "Bro at least you and Clyde don't have to clean up after the Kitty."
When everyone returned to their program, Lincoln thought, "I have to call Clyde right now."
