Kidnapped! Part 1 (March 25, 2017)
It was a couple weeks after the warehouse incident, and on Saturday, March 25, Tony and Happy were on their way to pick up Peter for yet another gala. Thankfully, though, Tony held true to his promise at the last gala and left Stark Tower that night earlier to get to May's apartment earlier to help Peter with his tie. As soon as they arrived at the apartment building, Happy parked the car in front while Tony got out of the car and went inside to Peter and May's apartment. Normally, if Pepper was away and Tony was still expected to attend these charity galas, he would be dreading it immensely, but now that Peter had started to attend the galas as an intern, he didn't dread it so much. He and Peter could stick together for a couple hours, and that would certainly alleviate the boredom. More importantly it made Pepper happier to know that Peter would be there alongside Tony to keep him in check.
The billionaire smiled as he walked up to the door and knocked. He waited a few minutes before May opened the door smiling.
"Hey, Tony, come on in," she said as she stepped aside to let him in. She then turned to Peter's bedroom door. "Peter, Tony's here! Hurry up!"
"How are you, May?" he asked smiling as he walked in.
"I've been good," she said. "Work's been busy. How's Pepper? Did she get to Florida okay?"
"Yeah, she left early this morning," Tony replied. "She'll be back in a few days."
"Good, good," May said nodding. "You want anything to eat or drink before you guys go? I know sometimes the food is not always good at these things."
Tony chuckled. "You know, I think Peter and I will have to take you up on that after we get back," he said. "Maybe the three of us can whip something up together?"
"Oh yeah, that's perfect," May replied. "Peter actually told me that you told him that you would teach him how to cook. That's…that's very generous of you, thank you…for that."
"Oh, it's no problem, May," Tony said. "My mother taught me so many recipes, and it would be an honor to impart that wisdom onto the younger generation."
Both adults chuckled as Peter walked out of the bedroom in a suit…with his tie undone.
"Hey, Mr. Stark," Peter said with a smile.
"Hey, Pete," Tony said, "still need help with the tie?"
Peter stopped and looked down at his untied tie. "Oh, uh, yeah," he said feeling slightly bashful.
"It's okay, bud," Tony said chuckling. "That's why I'm here, right? I promised you I would help, right? Come on, let's do a little crash course, huh?" As he said this, he quickly undid his tie and walked over to his intern.
Peter smiled. "Yeah, let's do a crash course," he said as he walked back into his room with Tony behind him.
After a couple of tries, Peter finally managed to tie his own tie with Tony's help and guidance, and after a minute of celebrating, Tony and May gently reminded him that he and Tony needed to get going. After kissing his aunt goodbye, Tony led his intern out of the apartment and down to where Happy waited for them in the car.
"Thanks again for helping me, Mr. Stark," Peter said as they walked to the car.
"No problem at all, buddy," Tony said as he wrapped an arm around Peter pulling him close to his side as Peter returned the gesture. "That's my job as a mentor, isn't it?"
Peter chuckled and shook his head. "So…uh…it's just us tonight, huh?" he said as Tony opened the door for him.
"Yup, with Pep in Florida," Tony began, "it's up to the genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist and his intern to represent Stark Industries for tonight."
"That's so cool," Peter said as he climbed into the car with Tony behind him. "Hey, Happy!"
"Hey, kid," the forehead of security replied, "long time no see."
"Oh, yeah," Peter said as he buckled up, "what was it? A whole day?"
Both Happy and Tony chuckled as Tony himself closed the door and buckled up.
"Alrighty, Hap," Tony said, "you know where to go."
"You got it, boss," Happy replied before pulling out into the street.
"Okay," Tony said after a moment while turning to Peter, "so here's the game plan for tonight, kid: we're going to go mingle with everyone for a little bit, we're going to stay together whenever possible—"
"—just not when one of us has to use the bathroom because that would be weird," Peter added.
"Exactly," Tony replied. "We'll do whatever we can to avoid Norman Osborn. Finally, if you feel an attack coming on, what do you do?"
"I gently squeeze your arm three times," Peter replied, "and then we'll go somewhere private."
"Correct," Tony said nodding, "and what about the paparazzi?"
"Keep my head down and stay close to you," Peter said confidently.
"Atta boy," Tony said with a smile patting his mentee's shoulder, "you're learning, my young pupil."
Peter smiled even more. "Well, I've got a great mentor," he said.
Tony smiled in return. "There you go," he said, "trying to butter me up again."
"Well, that depends if it's working or not," Peter replied, "because if it is…absolutely!"
The billionaire's smile widened even more as he laughed. "You're the best, kid," he said. "You really are the best."
They finally made it to the Marriott in Manhattan, and of course, like the last gala they went to back in January, the paparazzi were in front waiting for them with their cameras flashing trying to get a picture of Tony Stark and his intern. After already experiencing that once before, Peter wasn't as nervous as he was back in January. He was more used to it, and thanks to Tony's guidance and Pepper's, of course, he knew he could get through the sea of flashes.
"Want me to go in with you guys?" Happy asked.
"Nah, we got it from here, Hap, thanks," Tony replied patting his best friend on the shoulder. "Just come back to pick us up in about…two hours or so."
"You got it," Happy replied. "Good luck."
"Thanks, Happy," Peter said with a smile.
"Okay, kid," Tony said placing his hand on Peter's shoulder, "slide out behind me. We'll make a beeline for the doors."
Peter nodded. "I'm ready," he replied.
With that said, Tony opened the car door, and Peter followed closely behind him. Of course, as soon as they got out of the car, the flashing and the shouting intensified, and Tony wasted no time in wrapping an arm around Peter pulling him close to his side. Both mentor and mentee kept their heads low as they pushed through the sea of cameras and flashes and ignored the questions and comments thrown at them. Thankfully, they made it through within minutes and walked in through the front door of the hotel.
"Alright, kid, we're two for two," Tony said with a smile as soon as they were inside the building. "Now, we just have to get through the rest of the evening, and we'll be home free."
Peter smiled. "I think we've got this, Mr. Stark," he said.
The gala kicked off without a hitch as Tony and Peter mingled with other scientists, especially the ones they had spoken to at the last gala. Both Tony and Peter managed to stay clear of Norman Osborn, much to Peter's relief. After a while of mingling, the host told everyone to go to their seats before dinner to listen to speeches before dinner, and Tony and Peter complied finding a table near the stage and sat so that they were facing the door. Nobody else sat down with them yet, so they took the time to talk about the nanotech project.
"I can't wait to see when your nanotech project is finished, Mr. Stark," Peter said with a smile.
"Ah-ah, you mean our nanotech project," Tony replied raising an eyebrow.
Peter stared at him with widened eyes. "Wait, you serious?" he asked. "B-But you were working on this long before I came along."
"Kid, that doesn't matter," Tony said placing a hand on Peter's shoulder. "You're a part of this project, too. It's yours as much as it's mine. It's our project."
Peter smiled and felt his heart swell with the warmth in his chest, and of course, it brought back the very question he had been asking himself since their movie night about two weeks ago…how long was the internship with Tony Stark going to last? Obviously, he was going to want Peter to stick around until their nanotech project was completed, but…what about beyond that? May always told him that all he needed to do was ask, so…while it was just the two of them…it seemed like a great time. He took a deep breath before turning to his mentor. "Umm…speaking of…our project…can I ask you something, Mr. Stark?" he asked.
"Of course, buddy," Tony replied, "you can ask me anything."
"Uhh…well…" Peter began only to stop when he suddenly sat up straight and looked around with widened eyes. For some reason, he felt a familiar tingling sensation go up his spine, and it sounded like he could hear yelling outside the ballroom.
Tony noticed this and furrowed his eyebrows together looking around the room and back at Peter. "W-What's wrong, kid?" he asked. "Are you okay? Is it another panic attack?"
"N-No…no…it's not a panic attack," Peter replied still looking around. "I just…I-I have a weird feeling."
"What kind of weird feeling?" Tony asked.
Peter was just about to answer…when…the doors burst open.
"EVERYONE DOWN ON THE GROUND! NOW!" a man in black shouted as he held a gun with several others right behind him. "NOW! DOWN ON THE GROUND!"
Tony wasted no time in grabbing Peter by the shoulders and pulling him down to the ground behind the table shielding Peter from view.
"Mr. Stark—" Peter began to say with widened eyes.
"It's okay, it's okay, bud," Tony whispered as the screams of the attendees continued and as the men continued to bark orders to get down on the ground. "Just stay here, okay?"
"But we can take them," Peter whispered back.
"Not without your webshooters and our suits," Tony retorted. "I have my—"
BOOM!
"EVERYONE, SHUT UP AND STAY ON THE GROUND! IF YOU MOVE, I SHOOT AGAIN! THIS TIME ONE OF YOU!"
Peter looked up, and he could see a trail of smoke moving toward the ceiling proving that the man—probably the leader of the group—had fired his weapon. His heart pounded so hard that he was worried that Tony could hear it as they stayed on the ground on their hands and knees. He wanted so badly to go and fight these men with Tony, but…his mentor was right. Neither of them had their suits, and he couldn't afford to reveal that he was Spider-Man. He knew Tony had his watch that could work as a gauntlet…but would that be enough?
"We need to figure out why these bozos are here," Tony whispered to him. "Once we know…we can—"
"Here's how this is going to go!" the leader shouted again as Tony quickly gestured for Peter to be quiet. "We need two of you to come with us! If you both follow through, nobody gets hurt." Tony and Peter could hear the leader pause before speaking again. "I need Tony Stark and his intern to come out…NOW!"
Tony and Peter both felt their hearts drop as they looked at each other with widened eyes.
"TONY STARK AND HIS INTERN, COME OUT, NOW!" the man shouted again.
Tony started to breathe heavily at the announcement. He didn't care that they wanted him. He had been kidnapped and threatened and held at gunpoint in Afghanistan. No…it was the fact that they also wanted his intern…Peter. They were demanding that he and Peter come out. How could they possibly know he had an intern? Who were these people? Nevertheless, he didn't have time to figure that out. He couldn't let these men touch Peter. He refused to let that happen.
"STARK, COME OUT HERE WITH YOUR INTERN NOW!" the leader shouted again causing both Tony and Peter to jump in fear. "OR I SHOOT!"
Tony took a deep breath and moved quickly pulling up the tablecloth and gently ushering Peter under the tablecloth. "Here, get under here, kid," he said. "Call 911 and Happy, and don't come out for anything until these guys and I are out of here."
"What?" Peter whispered. "Mr. Stark, he wants both of us. I can't let you do this alone."
"Well, I'm not letting you get anywhere near these guys, kid," Tony retorted. "I'm the adult. I can handle this. I would feel a lot better knowing that you're safe, okay?"
"But—"
"Shh, trust me, I'll be okay, alright?"
Peter widened his eyes at Tony as he was ushered under the table. He couldn't believe this was happening. What was supposed to be a nice evening with his mentor was slowly turning into a nightmare. How could Tony just expect him to just sit there while he gave himself up to these men? There was no telling what these men planned on doing to them, but there was nothing to stop him if things got dangerous for Tony. He slowly nodded. "Please be careful," he whispered.
Tony smiled.
"STARK! I KNOW YOU AND THE KID ARE HERE! GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE NOW OR I SHOOT!"
"I'll be fine, kid," he said with a wink.
"ONE…TWO…"
Tony wasted no time in dropping the tablecloth concealing Peter. "OKAY! OKAY!" he shouted as he stood up holding up his hands. "I'm here! It's me! No need to get all trigger happy!" He slowly walked up to the men in the middle of the room. "So, whatever you came here for…just get it over with."
Tony was able to see that the men were wearing ski masks on their faces, but he could feel their cold gazes on him…almost as if they were waiting for him to try something. However, he couldn't…not when Peter was still within their reach. He might've been hiding, but Tony refused to take any chances when it came to Peter's safety.
"That's better," the leader said. "Glad to see that the great Tony Stark knows how to follow orders." He paused and lifted his gun again. "Now, where's the kid, Stark?"
Tony clenched his jaw as he tried to steady his pounding heart. "What kid?" he asked innocently. "I don't know any kid."
Peter thankfully was still under the table, but he lifted the cloth just a little bit to listen in on what was happening.
"Your intern, Stark," the leader said through clenched teeth, "that little brat who follows you around, where is he?"
"Look, buddy, I really don't know who you're talking about," Tony said with his hands still raised. "I didn't come here with any intern!"
"You're lying," the man sneered. "I thought you would want to do this the easy way, but it looks like I'm going to have to do this the hard way." Before Tony could say or do anything else, the leader brought the handle of his gun down on Tony's head causing him to drop to his hands and knees.
Tony only saw stars as he dropped to the floor, and he couldn't do anything as a hand grabbed him by the hair yanking it hard forcing him to kneel. Then, he felt the cool metal pressed against the side of his head.
"ALRIGHT, PETER PARKER!" the man shouted. "EITHER YOU COME OUT NOW OR YOUR BUDDY STARK GETS A BULLET IN HIS HEAD!"
"Kid, don't listen to him!" Tony shouted. "Don't do anything he says!"
Peter felt his heart pounding even more as he listened in. He breathed heavily when he heard the man's threat and Tony's plea.
"I'm counting to three!" the man shouted. "ONE…TWO…THR—!"
"DON'T!" Peter shouted at the man as he quickly got out from under the table. "DON'T SHOOT HIM PLEASE!"
"Kid…" Tony said as the man still held onto his hair.
"It's me," Peter said breathing heavily keeping his eyes on the man in black. "I'm Peter Parker. I'm Tony Stark's intern."
"Hmm…that's better," the man said with a smirk as he released his grip on Tony's hair.
As soon as Tony felt his hair released, he quickly scrambled to his feet and rushed over to his intern grabbing him by the shoulders looking at him with widened eyes. "Kid…w-why?" he asked.
"I'm sorry," Peter replied, "but I couldn't let him shoot you."
"Aw, isn't that just sweet?" the man mocked as Tony quickly turned around shielding Peter behind him.
"Alright, we're here," Tony said. "You got us. Now, what do you want?"
"It's not what I want," the leader said raising his gun. "It's what my boss wants, and he wants to see you both…now. So, get moving…or I shoot…"
"Okay…okay, uhh…kid," Tony said as he wrapped his arms around Peter holding him close, "stay close to me, okay?"
"Okay," Peter said shakily as he grabbed his mentor in return and stared at the men with guns aimed at them.
"W-Where…?" Tony began trying his absolute hardest to remain calm for Peter's sake even though his heart was pounding.
"Back through the kitchen, now!" the man said.
With that said, Tony nodded and kept Peter in his iron grip as they walked toward the kitchen. His heart was pounding the entire time as he held Peter close to his side. "Stay close to me, kid," he whispered to Peter. "Don't let go."
"Okay, Mr. Stark," Peter whispered shakily as he buried his face in Tony's chest. This couldn't be happening. This just couldn't be happening.
"MOVE!" the leader shouted as he put his gun to Tony and Peter's backs shoving them forward. "Through the kitchen!"
Tony and Peter did as their captors demanded and walked toward the kitchen with the men right behind them. They could feel the other shaking under their grips as they walked through the doors, and the chefs of course looked at them and were about to yell…until they saw the armed men behind the billionaire and his intern.
"Where's the back?" Tony quickly asked trying to steady his voice.
The head chef stared in absolute shock and horror and pointed toward the back door. Tony nodded in thanks as the lead gunman pushed them forward.
"MOVE!" he shouted. "AND YOU, DOWN ON THE GROUND!"
"Wow, you just love to bark orders, don't you?" Tony mumbled.
"SHUT UP, STARK! SHUT UP AND KEEP MOVING!"
"Mr. Stark…" Peter whispered looking up at him.
"Shh…shh…" Tony said gently but quickly, "it's okay, Pete. Just stay close and try to be quiet, okay?" He hated telling his mentee that. He didn't want to, but he knew he had to when these men held them at gunpoint. He didn't know what was behind the back door, but from what the leader said, it sounded like they were being taken somewhere…Someone wanted them, but he couldn't figure out who.
"Okay," Peter whispered nodding and holding onto his mentor.
"I got you, kid," Tony said.
"I got you, too, Mr. Stark," Peter replied just before they opened the back door and walked into the back alley…where a dark van waited for them.
"Alright, boys," the leader said as he moved forward and opened the passengers, "your limo awaits."
"Where are you taking us?" Peter asked firmly glaring at the leader.
"You'll find out soon," he replied before he nodded his men behind them.
His subordinates wasted no time in grabbing Tony and Peter separating them as they struggled in their intense grips.
"Hey, let me go! Let me go!" Peter shouted.
"Don't touch him!" Tony shouted trying to break away to get to Peter. "Don't touch him!"
"SHUT UP!" the leader shouted causing both Tony and Peter to freeze in fear. "Shut up or you both get bullets in your heads!"
Tony and Peter looked at the leader and then back at each other. There wasn't great lighting in the alley, but they could see each other…the fear on each other's faces and the two men holding each of their arms. They silently begged each other not to do anything stupid to agitate their captors…to not get hurt or worse.
"That's better," the leader said. "Now, both of you…hand over your phones…now."
Keeping their brown eyes on the other, the billionaire and the teenaged vigilante quickly dug into their pockets and…took out their phones…and the leader wasted no time in grabbing them and throwing them into a dark part of the alley. Once that was done, the leader restrained their hands with zip ties, and then the next thing they knew, bags were placed over their heads concealing them in darkness.
While Peter's heart was pounding, he couldn't help but wonder if these men knew he was Spider-Man. People knew Spider-Man had super-strength, so…why would they risk him getting away be restraining him in zip ties? Unless they figured the fear of losing his mentor would be enough to keep him from getting away? That didn't make sense. He didn't have time to figure it out as he felt himself being dragged to his feet and forced into the back of the van. He then heard more movement behind him like someone was being forced into the car as well.
"M-Mr. Stark?" Peter asked quickly as he moved his hands on the floor feeling around for any sign of his mentor. "Mr. Stark?"
"Kid? Peter?" Tony asked as he did the same looking for his intern.
They seemed to be in the very back of the car as Peter couldn't feel seatbelts or seats at all. However, he stopped when he felt another pair of hands…restrained by a zip tie.
"Is that you, Mr. Stark?" Peter asked hopefully.
"It's me, Pete," he heard Tony say. "I'm here."
Peter wasted no time in moving forward so that he was right next to his mentor practically burying himself into Tony's side and trying his best to keep his hands on his mentor's as well. "W-Where are they taking us?" he asked as he heard the car doors close and the engine start.
"I-I'm not sure, bud," Tony replied gripping Peter's hands as best as he could with the zip ties restraining them and resting his head on Peter's, "but I promise…everything will be okay. We're going to be okay."
Peter wanted to ask how Tony could possibly know that, but then…the car drove off. He closed his eyes tightly under the sack praying that someone had called the police.
Neither Peter nor Tony could tell how long the drive was with the sacks over their heads, but they refused to be separated from each other. They made sure to hold onto each other as the car continued to move. The whole time Peter prayed for the sound of police sirens to break the silence, but it never happened. The men didn't even say anything throughout the entire drive, which both Tony and Peter were grateful for. They could focus on sticking together in facing whatever or whoever waited for them at the end of this drive. Peter had thought about escaping, but that could reveal he was Spider-Man if they didn't know it already. Then again, if they didn't know he was Spider-Man, then why were both he and Tony taken? What did they want?
After what felt an eternity, the car began to slow down, and Peter and Tony's hearts began to pound again as that meant one thing…they reached their destination or at least it was coming up. It had to be somewhere far from the city because it seemed quiet…too quiet. Then…the car came to a stop, and they felt their hearts drop all over again. Peter gripped Tony's hands tighter as they listened to the men get out of the car and what sounded like a garage door closing behind them. Before either of them could say or do anything, they were grabbed and pulled out of the car being forced to their feet.
"MOVE IT!" one of the men shouted as his comrades dragged Peter and Tony further into…wherever they were.
"Mr. Stark?" Peter called meekly. He was moving his hands as best as he could with the zip ties when he couldn't feel Tony's anymore. They were pulled apart when the men dragged them out of the car.
"I'm right here, kid," Tony said holding his hand out to feel for Peter.
"SHUT UP AND KEEP MOVING!" the man shouted from behind as his lackeys continued to drag Peter and Tony.
Peter couldn't help but notice that they were making a few turns, and his feet were dragged on a cement floor, which made Peter wonder if they were going down a hallway. He couldn't help but notice the light through the sack on his head, so they were clearly in a building…However, it was still unclear as to where or what kind of building it was. He was jolted out of his thoughts when he was forced to stop. He then heard beeping—someone was punching in a code, and then a door opened. Then next thing he knew…he felt himself being shoved into this room, and he fell to the floor. Tony must've been pushed in as well because he heard someone else fall to the floor.
"Mr. Stark…" Peter called out.
"Kid…I'm right here," Tony replied…clearly right next to him.
Suddenly, the sacks were pulled off their faces, and both Tony and Peter were able to see each other, but then two of the men yanked their arms and cut off their zip ties releasing them. As soon as they were free, Tony practically answered over to Peter and wrapped his arms around the teen again, and Peter returned the gesture as they watched their captors.
"Our boss will be there to talk with you, Stark," the leader said. "Get comfortable. Any funny business, you both die."
"Listen, man," Tony said, "please, you and your boss can do whatever you want to me. Just please leave Peter out of this. Please just…just let him go. Whatever this is…he has nothing to do with it. Please just let him go."
"Nah, can't do that," the leader replied. "This brat is crucial to the boss' plans."
Tony felt his heart drop into his stomach as they watched the man leave with his lackeys slamming the door behind them locking him and Peter inside. Silence hung over the room as the billionaire felt sick to his stomach. He didn't care that he was kidnapped. All he cared about was the fact that…Peter was kidnapped and dragged into this as well. Not by accident…whoever kidnapped them wanted to use Peter somehow, and that scared him. "Here, kid," he whispered to Peter as he dragged himself and Peter back so that their backs were against the wall.
They both looked around the room. It was empty and all concrete, and the door was a metal door with no knob…no way out.
"What do you think they want with us?" Peter suddenly asked.
"I don't know," Tony replied, "but…I promise you…everything will be okay, kid. We'll be okay."
Peter only gripped his mentor tighter. If this were any normal situation, he wouldn't have done it, but he needed Tony…wanted Tony as close to him as possible. It kept him grounded and reminded him that his mentor was safe. "I know," Peter whispered. "I trust you, Mr. Stark."
When Happy arrived at the Marriott, he thought he would be seeing the flashing lights of cameras from the paparazzi trying to get a picture of Tony and Peter as they came out. What he didn't expect to see was the flashing police sirens, and his hearts couldn't help but drop to his stomach. Why were there police sirens? He quickly pulled over near the sidewalk and practically jumped out of his car running over to the hotel.
"Hey! HEY!" he called out to the police officers standing behind a yellow tape. "OFFICERS!"
A group of police officers perked up and looked at Happy as he ran over. "Look, man, we're not commenting until—" one of them began to say.
"I'm not the paparazzi," Happy quickly said. "I'm Happy Hogan, Tony Stark's head of security. He is in the Marriott with his intern tonight for a charity gala. What's going on?"
The officer sighed as a look of understanding came over him. He gestured with his head for Happy to follow him, and they walked over to the side away from the officers and any potential paparazzi.
"I'm Chief Harrison, Mr. Hogan," he said. "Umm…I wanted to ask. This intern of Stark's…is his name…Peter Parker by any chance?"
Happy's eyes widened. "Y-Yeah, Peter, he's been Tony's intern for a while now," he replied. "He came here with Tony tonight. I brought them both here, and now I'm here to pick them up. Why? Did something happen?"
"I'm afraid so," the chief replied. "Umm…witnesses said that a group of men came into the building with guns and demanded that Stark and…Peter come with them. Tony Stark and Peter Parker were kidnapped tonight."
"What?" Happy asked in shock. "W-When?"
"About a couple hours ago," the officer replied.
"Do you know anything yet?" Happy asked.
"We're still looking into it and getting witness reports," the officer replied, "but we are going to need you and any next of kin to come down to the station, so that we can ask you guys some questions."
"Yeah, I can call Tony's fiancée Pepper Potts, Col. Rhodes, and Peter's aunt May Parker," Happy replied reaching into his pocket for his phone.
"Okay, great," the officer said. "Have them meet us at the station."
Happy nodded as he took out his phone. Thankfully, he had May's number as well like Tony told him…just in case. He had to start with Pepper first. She was in Florida, and she would want to come back.
"Hey, Happy, what's going on?" Pepper answered after the phone rang.
"Uhh…Pepper, y-you're going to want to come home now," Happy said getting straight to the point. "It's…uh…it's a bit of an emergency."
"W-What do you mean?" she asked with fear in her voice.
"I-uhh…I don't want to tell you this over the phone, but…I came back to pick up Peter and Tony. But…they're not here. The police chief told me…told me that…that they were kidnapped. Someone kidnapped Peter and Tony."
"I'll be home as soon as I am," Pepper said. "Meet me at the airport."
"I'll pick up May and come right over."
It was again hard to tell how much time had passed since they were locked in the room. There was no clock. There were no windows, and Peter and Tony refused to let go of each other. It was silent…until Peter suddenly perked and looked around.
"What is it, buddy?" Tony asked.
"I hear footsteps," Peter replied. He looked at Tony allowing his mentor to see the fear and nervousness in his eyes. "I think they're coming."
"Okay, okay, just let me do the talking, okay?" Tony said. "And stick by me, okay?"
Peter nodded. "Okay," he replied.
Soon enough, they heard the keypad beeping as someone punched in the code, and Tony wasted no time as he quickly shuffled so that he was in front of Peter shielding him from whoever was coming in. He was going to stop at nothing to make sure Peter was safe. He didn't care who it was. He just wanted to do whatever he could to keep Peter safe no matter what, and thankfully, Peter didn't protest and sat behind Tony gripping onto his suit jacket for dear life as the door opened. When Tony saw who walked in alongside the masked man, his eyes widened when he saw a very familiar man in a suit and glasses.
"H-Hammer?"
Justin Hammer smirked. "Hello, Tony," he simply said, "it's been a long time."
Author's Note: Annnnnnnd that's it for Part 1, boys and girls! So yesssss Justin Hammer is back in this! And we will find out what he wants from Tony and Peter in PART 2! So stay tuned! Don't forget to leave a review! Thanks, guys!
