Author's Note: Hello, hello, my readers, and welcome back to the newest chapter of The Many Adventures of Iron Dad and Spider Son! We have reached PART 5 of the Kidnapping Arc, and boy oh boy, are we in for a ride because we check back with Peter and Tony to see if Tony has any plans up his sleeve to get him and Peter out of this! BUT…before we get to that…REVIEW REPLIES!

Sillymammijo: A dangerous game indeed, my friend! Omg! Thank you so much! I showed this comment to my friend, and she was thrilled! Thank you so much, and I hope you enjoy what comes next.

Randa1: (I used Google Translate to answer this) No quiero estropear demasiado, pero sé que se abordará.

Wandamarie: Thank you so much, friend! Hope you continue to enjoy what comes next!

Kidnapped! Part 5 (March 26, 2017)

Tony and Peter didn't say anything when Hammer's men brought in boxes of scraps into the room, and the men didn't say anything either as two of them aimed their guns at the billionaire and his intern while the others brought in the supplies. Peter and Tony both knew it was to make sure that they didn't try to escape, and they couldn't bring themselves to acknowledge their captors as they continued to cling to each other for dear life. As soon as the men were done, the leaders looked at Tony and Peter with a cruel smile under his mask.

"I suggest you get to work, Stark," he said. "The boss doesn't like to be kept waiting." He then looked at Peter's bruised face. "And you know how he feels about being told 'no.'"

Tony glared at the leader as he held Peter tighter silently threatening anyone who dared to come near them again.

"All you got to do is do what the boss wants," the man said before he and his men walked out the door and slammed it shut locking it.

"I'm really starting to hate these guys," Peter whispered.

Tony scoffed and shook his head. "I did from the moment they crashed the gala," he said.

Peter chuckled a little and squeezed Tony a little tighter. "We should really get to work," he said eying the boxes of supplies in their little room.

Tony sighed realizing that Peter was right. They needed to act fast. They weren't sure when Hammer was going to come back, and if Tony's escape plan for them was going to work, they had to time it just right. "You're right, bud," he said. "We should. I don't know when he's coming back, and if this is going to work, we better work fast."

They slowly but surely pulled away from each other and stood up and walked over to the boxes. "We don't have DUM-E and U to help us," Tony said after a moment, "so we'll have to use our hands for this one."

"If we're building an Iron Legion," Peter began, "where do we start?"

"We start with the easiest and work our way up," Tony said, "meaning we work with what's going to help us get the hell out of here."

"Okay," Peter said with a small smile. All he had to do was trust Tony. His mentor would surely find a way to get them both back home.

With that said, the mentor and mentee got to work starting with one of the gauntlets that would be part of an Iron Legion that Justin Hammer would never get. No matter what happened, Tony promised himself that he would get Peter and himself out of this before Hammer could do anything else. His heart ached seeing the bruises all over Peter's face, but he couldn't worry about that right now. He needed to focus. They needed to focus…on getting away from Hammer and his goons. No matter what, they were in this together.

He wasn't sure how long it took, but it felt like hours as Tony and Peter worked on the arm of what would be another Iron Man suit. Tony was right when he said it would likely take longer without the technology in Stark Tower, but Peter didn't care. All he cared about was helping the billionaire. He refused to leave Tony alone in this. If anything, it would be just like one of their lab days… They could ignore the impending threats Hammer was hanging over their heads…even if for a short while.

"Okay, now just put this wire in that slot there," Tony said as he guided Peter's hand as he placed a wire into the proper place. "There you go, buddy."

Peter let out a sigh of relief as the wire clicked into place.

"You did it, kid," Tony said with a proud smile on his face. "Great job."

Peter gave a small smile before he and Tony continued to work. "I'm just glad we're together," he said, "and that you're here."

"Me too, kid," Tony said putting an arm around Peter. "Don't worry, like I said, we're in this together."

"I never had any doubt about that, Mr. Stark," Peter said. He then stopped when he remembered when Hammer was in that room the first time…when he explained his motives…especially the reason why he was there. Hammer thought he was Tony's son, and it made his stomach churn. Not that he hated that notion, but he hated how bad of a spot that put his mentor in. He still couldn't help but wonder if he said or did something to plant that idea in Hammer's head. "Umm…Mr. Stark, a-about what…what Hammer thinks I am to you…I…if I…if I said—"

"Kid, don't," Tony said gently but firmly as he gripped Peter's shoulder. "Don't…don't do that. It's nothing you said or did, okay? Hammer…" He looked around making sure there were no ridiculous that the room was being bugged, "Hammer…is an idiot. It's not your fault…nor anything you need to feel sorry for, okay?"

Peter smiled and wrapped his arm around Tony leaning his head on his shoulder. "Okay," he said. "Thanks, Mr. Stark."

"You got it, buddy," Tony replied. "Let's get back to work."

With that said, the mentor and the mentee went back to their project trying their hardest to focus on their project…trying for just a few hours to forget about their ordeal, which couldn't be too hard as long as Hammer and his men didn't come back in…for a little while.

A few hours passed in the blink of an eye, and sure enough Tony and Peter finally finished making the gauntlet, and Peter could only marvel at the work they did over the past few hours. They actually did it without the labs, DUM-E, and U, but it was not easy. Peter could see how disheveled he and his mentor were. Their ties were loosened. His face was still sore, but he couldn't bring himself to care about that…not now. He could only marvel at their new gauntlet.

"I'd say that it looks good," Peter said with a smile. "Okay, so what's next, Mr. Stark?"

"One word, kid," Tony said as he loosened his necktie and took it off, "escape."

Peter stared at Tony with widened eyes. "Really? Now?" he asked.

"Yes, now," Tony said firmly, "I'm not putting you in my more danger. I refuse to meet any of Hammer's demands, but with the threat on your life hanging over our heads, I don't plan on sticking around here any longer than we need to."

Peter felt himself exhale. "Okay," he said, "what's the plan?"

"It's simple," Tony said wrapping his arm around Peter, "we're going to wait for Hammer and his goons to come back in. Once they come back, I'm going to stun them with that gauntlet, and then we're going to run out of here and make a break for the car. We'll drive off and head home, simple as that."

"Simple as that?" Peter asked.

"Simple as that," Tony replied.

"Okay, let's do it then," Peter said after a moment. "I'm with you all the way, Mr. Stark."

"I know you are, buddy," Tony said. "Now, you let me handle the dirty work. We can't let them figure out your secret."

"Right," Peter replied nodding. "Okay."

"Good," Tony said as he took his tie and tied it around Peter's right wrist and then his own.

"What are you doing?" Peter asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"I just need a little reassurance first," Tony replied. "This way no matter what, we won't get separated. We're in this together, right?"

Peter couldn't help but roll his eyes despite feeling relieved hearing how determined Tony was to keep them together. "Next thing you know," he began, "you'll be putting me on those leashes that parents put on their kids sometimes."

"Don't tempt me," Tony said simply.

They both shared a chuckle. "Iron Man and Spider-Man," Peter said with a smile.

"Iron Man and Spider-Man," Tony repeated with a smile of his own. Then…he grabbed the gauntlet and put it on his left hand.

It seemed like forever before Tony and Peter could hear them punching in the code, and Tony wasted no time in pushing Peter behind him to protect him. Then he activated the gauntlet. He furrowed his eyebrows together as he glared at the door ready to put his plan into action. Soon enough, the door opened, and Hammer walked into the room with his men.

"Ah, Tony, Peter," Hammer said with a smug smile on his face, "I trust that you're enjoying your little father/son getaway."

"Oh yeah, it's a real hoot," Tony growled.

Hammer chuckled. "I'm sure," he said as he walked closer. "Now, enough with the jokes, I've come to see how your project was coming along. Although…I don't see any indication that any work has been done. Care to explain?"

"Nah, I really don't," Tony said bluntly before…he lifted the hand with the gauntlet and fired a repulsor blast stunning Hammer and his men causing them to fall backwards to the floor.

"Whoa…" Peter said in complete astonishment.

"Come on, kid, let's get out of here!" Tony said as he grabbed Peter's hand pulling him out of the room and into the hallway as they stepped over Hammer and the men.

Peter didn't say a word as his mentor led him out of the room. Even as the tie kept them bound together, he kept his hand locked in Tony's as they ran off down the hall. They ran as fast as their legs could take them. "Do you know where we're going?" Peter asked as they continued to run.

"I have a pretty good estimate," Tony replied. "When they brought us in, I was able to count the turns from where they parked the car. Don't worry, kid, we're getting out of here today."

"I'm not worried," Peter said as they continued to run down the halls even as the teen could easily hear Hammer and the men shouting and running to come find them. They were coming after him and Tony, but he refused to let that stop them. They just needed to get to a car and fast. "You know I trust you, Mr. Stark."

"I know," Tony said as he threw a smile at Peter squeezing his hand tighter. He refused to stop. Not until he and Peter were safe! "Let's keep going! Come on! I know how fast we are and how fast a car is, but I don't know how fast they are!"

Peter nodded as they continued to run making all these turns down the hall towards hopefully the garage. He was starting to remember taking these turns, but he trusted Tony to know exactly where to go. His heart pounded as he heard Hammer and his men coming after them, but it only made him faster. "Mr. Stark!"

"I know!" Tony replied, "just keep going, kid! Keep running!"

Peter did exactly as his mentor said and kept running alongside him. He wasn't sure how long they were running for, but he didn't have time to think about it because next thing he knew…they found a door. Tony wasted no time in opening it, and sure enough they made it into the garage…where the very same van they were forced into sat.

Tony wasted no time in guiding Peter inside and closing the door behind them. "We need something to block the door," he said aloud looking around.

It was then that Peter saw…

"We can use that pipe," he shouted excitedly pointing to the pipe on the floor.

"Perfect," Tony said with a smile as he bent down and picked it up.

Then the billionaire and his intern wasted no time in sliding a pipe in through the door handle blocking anyone from coming inside. "Okay," he said to Peter as he untied the tie, "we got to work fast. I don't know how much time we have before those assholes catch up to us."

"Okay," Peter said nodding profusely.

So, they ran over to the van and opened the front doors and hopped in. Tony looked in the cupholders, the pockets in the door, the dashboard, and everywhere else in the car. "Shit…shit…SHIT! SHIT!" he said through clenched teeth.

"What's wrong?" Peter asked quickly.

"I can't find this van's keys," Tony said with a panic in his voice.

"Well, we can look for them," Peter offered hopefully. "Maybe they're hanging somewhere."

"There's no time," Tony said as he kicked under the steering wheel causing the panel to fall exposing the wires. "Don't ever try this at home, kid."

"Wait, what are you doing?" Peter asked furrowing his eyebrows together.

"I'm going to hot wire this old thing," Tony replied as he took two wires putting them together causing an electric spark and for the car to hum to life.

Peter cheered at the top of his lungs. "You did it, Mr. Stark!" he said excitedly.

"Don't congratulate me yet, kid," Tony said with a small smile and pushed the garage door opened on the visor. "We still need to get out of here."

"Well then, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Peter shouted.

"No need to tell me twice!" Tony replied as he sped out of the garage and into the sunlight.

After they shielded their eyes to adjust to the light, Peter and Tony were able to see that it was daylight. Peter saw that the clock read 12:00 PM noon. They were taken at night, and he couldn't help but wonder how long they were stuck in the room for. Was it a day? It felt like forever. However, they couldn't focus on it right now. They needed to focus on getting back to New York safely…back to the city…back to their families.

However, that relief soon turned into dread when…Peter felt his senses tingling. He quickly froze and grabbed the back of his neck, which of course caught Tony's attention…just as it happened at the gala before the men came in. "Kid, what's wrong?" Tony asked quickly.

Peter looked behind him out the rearview window, and his brown eyes widened at what he saw. "They're following us, Mr. Stark," he said seeing three vans driving very fast behind them. "Mr. Stark!"

Tony checked in the rearview mirror and saw that Peter was right. They were catching up to them, and he didn't waste any time in pressing down harder on the gas pedal. If he could go fast enough on a highway, then that would alert the police and get them to pull over…to get Peter to safety…to put Hammer behind bars again. He mentally kicked himself as he drove. How did he not know that Hammer was out? How did the state not alert him?

"Uh…uhh…Mr. Stark!" Peter suddenly shouted getting his mentor to snap out of his thoughts.

Tony snapped out of his thoughts and saw that Peter was looking behind them still, and he looked at the mirror and widened his eyes at what he saw. There were guns poking out the window.

"They're going to shoot at us!" Peter shouted. His heart pounded at the sight. They didn't have any weapons other than the gauntlet. "Give me the gauntlet! I can—"

"BOOM!" That was a gunshot, and it hit the side of the car.

Tony knew what Peter was asked, and he refused to let that happen. He would rather die than let his mentee face off with Hammer and his men alone, so he firmly but gently pushed Peter's head down. "Keep your head down and stay down!" he said. "Don't come up unless I say so."

Peter did as Tony said and bent down away from the window as more gunshots were fired at their car. He pushed harder on the gas pedal desperate to get Peter away from these men and back home safe and sound. His eyes scanned the road ahead of him for any signs of civilians who would likely call for help. There had to be someone…anyone, who could get the police's attention. "Keep your head down, bud," he said. "Stay down. We're nearly there! I can feel it!"

He was jolted out of his thoughts when the car was suddenly jolted to the side before Tony stabilized the car again. He looked out his sideview mirror and saw one of the vans caught up to their van tailgating them, which only made Tony's heart pound even more. They were catching up to him.

"Mr. Stark, what was that?" Peter asked quickly and frantically. "What's happening?"

"They're gaining on us…trying to run us off the road!" Tony shouted. "Stay down, kid!"

Peter did as Tony demanded and kept his head down away from the windows and his hand on his head. His heart continued to pound in his chest, and he could easily hear Tony's heart pounding as well. It wasn't long after that he felt the car jolt to the side yet again.

"Shit!" Tony said as he tried with all his might to make the car drive faster. "These fucking assholes!"

"You can do it, Mr. Stark!" Peter said keeping his head down. "You can do it!"

As soon as he said that, the car jolted to the side yet again, but this time, the other van was up against Tony and Peter's and drove them even harder off the side of the road. Tony tried with all his might to stabilize the car. However, no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't get the car straight. He couldn't fight against the van, and…the next thing he knew…the van was sliding down an incline and headed straight for the trees. Tony instinctively grabbed Peter by the back of his suit and angled him away from the windows. Then…before Tony could do anything…the car crashed. Tony felt his head bang into the window cracking it, and the airbags activated around them.

The billionaire breathed heavily as he looked around frantically at the damage in the car, and then…he looked down…and saw Peter still leaning over the center console he pulled him to. His heart dropped as he wondered if Peter was hurt as well.

"Kid…you okay…?" Tony asked causing Peter to look up.

Peter's eyes slightly widened seeing the cut on Tony's forehead, but he didn't say anything. He only made a mental note to help his mentor fix it later. "Never better…did…" he began to ask as he sat up only to stop…when he heard voices outside the van, "…we didn't get away, did we?"

Before Tony could even answer, the doors opened…and the men in black reached in and grabbed the billionaire and his intern practically yanking them out of the car. Tony and Peter tried to grab for each other's hand, but they slipped from their grips. Then they were forced back up the incline away from the car…their one chance at escaping…to where Hammer stood waiting for them, which made Tony's heart pound as he and Peter were forced to kneel right across from each other as two henchmen each held them by their arms tightly.

"Oh my god…" Hammer began, "Tony, Tony, I thought I was pretty clear about what would happen if you refused."

Tony could only stare at his enemy in absolute horror as his heart pounded even more remembering the ultimatum…

"What if I refuse?"

"Oh, well, that's easy. If you refuse, then…Peter dies. You know…a bullet…through his head?"

"No…no…" Tony began breathing heavily, "I…I didn't refuse. I—"

"Well, see?" Hammer interjected. "You escaping—well, trying to at least," he chuckled, "is pretty much refusing to do what I want. So…I guess your baby boy has to go…"

"No…no…" Tony replied frantically looking between Peter and Hammer and fighting the men's intense grip on him, "you can't! Wait!" He struggled against their grips. He had to get to Peter no matter what. He had to protect him.

"Mr. Stark…" Peter said quietly staring at his mentor in horror…before his captors shoved him face first into the ground…and held a gun to the back of his head. "Mr. Stark…it's okay…" He tried his hardest to stay calm on the outside, but on the inside…he was shakingly afraid. He didn't want to die. He didn't want to leave his friends and family…especially May and Tony.

"NO! NO!" Tony shouted at the top of his lungs as he continued to struggled in the men's grips. He had to get to Peter. He had to. "LEAVE HIM ALONE! HAMMER, PLEASE DON'T DO THIS! NO! NO! NO! PLEASE! PLEASE, HAMMER! DON'T DO THIS!"

"Sorry, Tony," Hammer said nonchalantly shrugging, "you should've thought of that before escaping. This needs to be done."

"NO! NO, IT DOESN'T!" Tony said frantically shaking his head and fighting as hard as he could to get to Peter. He had to protect Peter. He had to. Peter looked at him, and the billionaire could easily see the fear in the teen's big brown eyes. It broke his heart to see Peter this scared, but he couldn't give up. He looked back at Hammer. "PLEASE! PLEASE, I-I'LL DO IT! I'LL DO EVERYTHING YOU WANT! THE SUITS! THE ARC REACTOR! SIGNING OVER STARK INDUSTRIES! JUST…PLEASE…PLEASE LET PETER GO! DON'T HURT HIM!"

Peter widened his eyes at what he heard his mentor say, and in that moment, he didn't care that there was a gun held to the back of his head. All he cared about was stopping Tony…from what he was about to do. "No! No!" he shouted. "Mr. Stark! Don't do it! Don't agree to it! It's okay! I'll be okay! It's fine! Just don't do it! Don't do anything he says, please!"

"Don't listen to him!" Tony shouted over Peter's objections. "He doesn't know what he's talking about! Hammer, if you kill him, you lose your bargaining chip over me. It won't make me do anything you need me to do! Please…PLEASE! You don't want innocent blood on your hands…PLEASE! I swear…I swear on my parents' graves, if you don't kill him, I will do everything you want! I will make you the arc reactor, the Iron Legion, and sign over SI! PLEASE…SPARE THE KID!"

"MR. STARK!" Peter shouted at the top of his lungs.

"SHUT UP! BOTH OF YOU!" Hammer suddenly yelled at the top of his lungs causing both Tony and Peter to jump and look at their captor with fear in their eyes. Hammer stared at Tony contemplating his frantic pleas. "Okay, fine. We won't kill him…yet, but" he knelt down…right next to Peter, "no more escapes." He grabbed a handful of Peter's hair…yanking his head back…hard…causing Peter to yelp in pain, "or Peter really does get a bullet in his head."

Relief over the fact that Peter was going to live and fear over his intern's life being threatened again washed over him as he breathed heavily. "I swear…it…it won't happen again. I'll do what you want."

Hammer smirked as he released Peter's hair and stood up. "Good," he said before turning back to his men, "get them back to the hideout."

Tony and Peter could only stare at each other…before the men dragged them to their feet and into one of the vans…as their failure to escape washed over them.

Neither Tony nor Peter said anything as they were brought back to the hideout. Neither of them even fought as they were forced out of the car and back into their room. The men and Hammer didn't waste any time in slamming the door shut and…locking them in.

"Why?" Peter asked as soon as they were alone…and as they stared at each other in shock over what happened.

"Peter…" Tony said taking a step toward his intern…only for him to take a step back. Tony briefly ignored his heart breaking at that as he focused on Peter. He had to get him to understand.

"Why did you do that?" Peter asked holding a hand up. "Why? You…" he breathed shakily, "he could've let you go! Why did you agree to all that?"

"How could I possibly do that when a gun was being held to your head?" Tony asked sternly as he took another step toward Peter. "They were going to kill you, kid." His blood ran cold at the thought of a bullet going into Peter's skull…the thought of Peter…dying.

"But your company—" Peter began to say.

"Kid, don't you get it?!" Tony interjected in a loud voice grabbing Peter's shoulders. "You're way more important to me than my fucking company! I can't lose you, kid, okay?! I can't! To ask me to choose saving my company…my work over you…I can never choose my company. I'm always going to choose you…Pepper…Rhodey…Happy…May."

Peter stared at his mentor in complete shock as his eyes widened at what he was hearing. He knew Mr. Stark cared about him and wanted to keep him safe, but he never knew or at least thought that Tony Stark—genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist Tony Stark would be willing to throw away his company and his work…just to protect him. He was willing to do that, and he couldn't help but feel horrible for just yelling at his mentor for protecting him. "I…I'm sorry, Mr. Stark," he said quietly. "I just…"

"It's okay, I know," Tony said breathing heavily. "But…right now, the only thing I'm focused on is getting us both out of here alive."

"I'd say that's a good goal," Peter said nodding.

They both couldn't help but laugh at Peter's joke. Somehow, some way, both the billionaire and his intern were going home together…no matter what.
