AtlierSky- Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I was reading this author who made warrior cats as humans and they made Gray Wing the oldest, so it just stuck in my mind, but yeah it does make sense.

Yes, and I'm sorry for Fluttering Bird's sudden death which is why I'm sorry to say this chapter is...sad too.

But once again, some canon deaths may not happen because of some certain characters being there, so don't worry.

Gray Wing opened his eyes when a sunbeam hit him through the warriors' den. Wisps of cloud scattered across a pale blue sky. He yawned and stretched.

He could hear excited yet worried voices outside the den and scrambled outside. Cats were crowded around the nursery and this time he knew it had to do with Bright Stream. He could hear her yowls of pain echoing across the camp and Dappled Pelt's soothing voice. Cloud Spots was just entering the den with some herbs.

Jagged Peak was off to the side, having been kicked out of the nursery, eyes wide with worry and curiosity. He spotted his older brother and scampered over. "Bright Stream is having kits."

"I know," Gray Wing purred, touching his nose to Jagged Peak's. "And soon you'll have new friends to play with." Jagged Peak brightened at the thought and for once in a long while he looked like his old, cheery self before his sister's death. "Anyway, I'll see you later. I have to train Fire Heart." Jagged Peak nodded and Gray Wing turned to the apprentices' den.

"Fire Heart, wake up!" Jackdaw's Cry hissed, breaking through Fire Heart's dream. "Training begins at sunrise. Falling Feather and Hawk Swoop already left."

Fire Heart stretched sleepily as memories rushed back. He jumped to his paws, all drowsiness being chased away. Today was his first day of training!

Gray Wing was waiting outside for them and nodded before he led the two out of camp. As they climbed the slope, a cool breeze ruffled their pelts. White clouds raced across the blue sky overhead. Fire Heart felt a fierce joy well up inside him as he followed his mentor and friend down a slope toward a hollow.

Quick Water and Shattered Ice were already waiting with Falling Feather and Hawk Swoop.

"Of course the kittypet held them up. My apprentice is never late," Shattered Ice muttered into Quick Water's ear but not quietly enough. Clearly, he wanted to be heard. Gray Wing just rolled his eyes and turned to the ginger tom.

"Anyhoo, we'll all be going as a group as I show you the territory. It'll be…like a big border patrol." Fire Heart nodded excitedly. The day he ran through the forest had seemed so long ago.

Quick Water turned with a flick of her tail and led the way out of the hollow. The others took off with equal speed leaving Fire Heart in the dust and he slipped a little as he followed.

The trees were thick in this part of the forest, filled with mighty oaks. It was pretty much the same as ThunderClan territory. The ground was carpeted with crisp dead leaves.

"Twolegs cut these trees and take them somewhere in ThunderClan territory," Gray Wing explained as he pointed at some stumps that used to be trees. "For some reason."

Quick Water snorted. "The monsters they use have a horrible smell and scare the prey away, but that's just how twolegs are."

"They like to be extra," Fire Heart murmured and Gray Wing laughed in agreement. They moved on and approached a river. "This is the river obviously. I think this is the area River Ripple lives," Quick Water meowed. Fire Heart noticed she kept a bigger distance than the rest of the cats, eyeing the water warily.

"RiverClan are greedy, smelly fish," Jackdaw's Cry added helpfully. Hawk Swoop snickered.

"If we follow this river it'll lead to Four Trees," Gray Wing meowed.

"What's that?"

"The place where all Clans meet peacefully under a full moon."

Fire Heart glanced up at the sky and then meowed, "then there must be one very soon."

"Yes. Tonight actually," Quick Water meowed in surprise that he had known that all. They reached Four Trees. Four great oaks stood together.

"Wow!"

"Yeah," Jackdaw's Cry agreed.

"ShadowClan lives in that pine forest. WindClan owns the moor and RiverClan, well we just passed their territory. And you already know where ThunderClan is."

"At least we won't have to see the Thunderpath and their stinky monsters. It runs between ShadowClan and ThunderClan." Hawk Swoop nodded somewhere farther away and Fire Heart spotted a flat, gray path in the distance with shiny creatures rushing along it.

"And that's pretty much it, SkyClan territory doesn't have as many important landmarks like the other Clans," Gray Wing meowed as they headed back to camp.

They passed the stream on the way to see Dappled Pelt fishing. There was a pile of them next to her. She looked up and meowed, "Bright Stream isn't in good condition," her voice wavered. "Cloud Spots is helping her and I'm catching prey. She'll need it."

Worried, the patrol hurried back to camp.

Cloud Spots was trembling with worry. Bright Stream had kitted earlier than she was due to and it wasn't going so well. Rainswept Flower was sitting outside to make sure no one came in but that didn't stop Skystar from trying to burst into the den every few moments.

Just then, Gray Wing peeked in, his eyes widened as they were drawn to the blood-soaked moss. "Uh, is there anything I can do to help?"

"Um," Cloud Spots looked around for something he could do and Gray Wing shuffled his paws awkwardly. "Yes. A stick maybe and some soaked moss. She needs to drink." Gray Wing nodded and left.

Truthfully, Cloud Spots just wanted him out of the way.

Finally, the first kit arrived and Cloud Spots immediately started to lick it. It was a she-kit. His heart sank when he realized the kit wasn't moving at all. It was pale gray like Skystar.

"Okay, okay," he muttered to himself as Gray Wing arrived with the moss. The warrior gasped at the sight of the dead kit. Cloud Spots ignored him as the next kit came. It was a brown tabby tom with white paws and white splotches like his mother.

"Okay," Cloud Spots muttered again as he licked the kit and to his relief it started mewling and squirming. He nudged it to Bright Stream's belly and it started to feed. Cloud Spots sat back with a sigh of relief when he noticed Bright Stream laying there, convulsing.

His eyes widened in horror when he noticed the blood spill out. She was losing blood! "GIVE ME THAT MOSS!" He yowled at Gray Wing and he tossed it over, terrified.

"What's going on in there?" Skystar called from outside. No one answered. "That's it! I'm coming in!"

"No," Cloud Spots mewed weakly as the light left Bright Stream's eyes and she stayed still forever. Skystar burst in and stared at his mate in horror, not even sparing the squirming kit a glance. Or the dead one.

Cloud Spots had the same reaction. He stared numbly at the dead queen. He hadn't saved her! He barely heard Skystar's cries or Gray Wing's comforting mews or noticed Jagged Peak slipping into the nursery and pressing against Skystar's side, comfortingly.

Bright Stream was dead.

I'm sorry for the close together deaths, but it is Warriors, but one of the kits is alive, so we have our first OC. Well, kinda.
