Hello everybody, I'm currently working on this new crossover Stargate x Overlord. After some attempts on Overlord and Youjo Senki (put on hold after I've read the new books that came out afterward) I've decided to write something that will allow me a wider flexibility. Therefore I've decided on a dual crossover.
The first universe will be Stargate. I'm setting the story shortly after the end of ; SG1, Continuum ,the Ark of truth and Atlantis but before Universe. (So to resume pretty much all the show beside the unfinished Universe that I'm not particularly fond of). I won't make references to anything that is written on books since I've read only a few and most is set afterward in the timeline. Other than that I prefer a canon approach and will try to stick as much as possible to the spirit and details of the original (not gonna be easy in the context of a crossover with a manga but I'll try xD).
On the Overlord part I will not give precisions for the moment but I can already say that I've learnt the lessons of my first fanfiction and will set this universe after what, should be, in my humble opinion, the complete written story.
After this introduction, I hope you will enjoy this first chapter and the ideas that I came up with, which, to be honest I'm pretty excited about. Good reading :)

"So, what did you call me for Jackson ?" said Cameron Mitchell. He sat at the refectory accross the table and started to stir his coffee. "From your tone, you seemed kind of exhausted. Already working to get your next trouble, now that we are rid of the Ori menace ?" he added with a chuckle.
Daniel, stopped reading and realised that his last spoon of jelly was hanging in front of his mouth, probably for some time now. He ate it and thought of how to put his new discovery to the colonel. One thing that he learned painfully from his now long time work at the SGC, was that he had to be carreful of how he presented things. Especially to the firsts few persons that he would have to expose to, let's say, mind bogling revelations.
"I think you realised, now that Atlantis is on Earth, there is going to be incredible discovery in the ancients databases. Even if we had access to it before, now we can finaly have enough people to properly check it thoroughly" answered Daniel.
"I guess so, at least that's what you said two weeks ago when you left SG1 to plunder the ancient knowledge and Carter left to take command of the next cruiser in construction" grumbled Cameron.
With a small smirk the archeologist added "Yes well, obviously I was right and we already made incredible discovery in various field of expertise with the teams wich I'm working with. It's a little hard to focus on my part since other groups need help translating the most advanced parts, but yes, we all made giant leaps in every directions".
With a sigh of resignation, Cameron drank a sip of coffee and leaned back in his chair before asking. "What you found must be pretty serious, you don't usually sugarcoat things for me. Come on man, rip the bandaid off so I can call you crazy and go back to find a replacement for Carter and you in the team".
"To be completely honest, I'm not sure of what I have found. So far I was mainly focused on the ascencion studies. One of the most exhaustive work was done by Janus and that's when I stumbled on some of his personnal notes, I found something that surprised me." Daniel removed his glasses and started to rub his eyes. "Before the war with the Wraiths, he worked on pretty much everything. So mucht that it all seemed more or less random; ascension, time travel, ZPM's, alternate realities, nanites, parallel universes, hyperspace and even, curiously ... video games"
"Besides the usual mad scientist stuffs, I've read the repport on ancient video games on Atlantis. I can't say that I recomend it now"
Being interrupted, Daniel glared at Mitchel and continued "The war put a halt to most of his non-military researches, so he didn't worked on it for a long time, but he experimented with what I understood as, in his own words : 'Magic Spells'. And since Janus is probably, despite what some earthlings think, the most accomplished scientist a couple of galaxies ever knew, I don't know what to think about it".
The colonel kept quiet for a moment, thinking about it and answered "I'm not sure what is the problem, especialy with them so close to ascension. Since I join the SGC, I've seen a lot of amazing powers, from telekinesis to fire manipulation and other mind reading things. I even remember from reports, a couple of guys who saw the future."
"The problem, is that Janus understood all those powers and was even able to acquire some of them later. The magic he is referring to, not only did he discovered it by accident, but he was adament that it shouldn't be possible in any universe or reality that he knew. The other problem is that it's litteraly the first time, in all of my ancient studies, that I find those words and this kind of project. I simply can't believe that something so unnusual was never mentionned anywhere else." Putting back his glasses, Daniel crossed his arms and seemed lost in his thoughts for a moment.
"Again Jackson I'm not sure what is the problem or why you are telling me all this. There are probably a lot of insane things in those databases that we will take years if not centuries to understand."
"Oh yes, sorry I've forgot the important part. The notes I've found, are from a lab that was ultimately abandonned during the war. For security reasons, it was displaced from the Pegasus galaxy to ours and I have the coordinates. I know that SG1 is not complete without Carter and me but if I'm part of the mission it shouldn't be a problem, I think. Interested Colonel ?"
Cameron slammed his cup on the table, spilling some of his coffee and answered with a loud happy voice "Explore a world with as SG1 to find magic powers from an ancient legend. That's pretty much my speciality by now! I knew it, you are looking for new troubles."
The smirk that Daniel had, transformed into a frown and he couldn't avoid thinking to himself; SG1 might not have been the best choice in the end.

"Stop this." said Teal'C as he grabbed the hand of Vala Mal Doran.
Instead of the constant clicking of a pen in the conference room, now a loud collective sight of relief could be heard.
"But I'm soooo bored !" answered Vala "It's been almost two hours that we've been waiting now."
"Since the last time you and Daniel played with weird intergalactic technology you provoked an Ori invasion, I understand that general O'Neill is reluctant to give us a shot." said Cameron, he then got up from his chair and started pacing around. "Sure the method is different and at least this time we would be ourselves and inside a jumper but still, we are not sure of where we are going to end."
"You heard Daniel like I did, a whole plane of existence where Janus went and came back after he learned magic spells from a dragon. We can't miss an opportunity like that!" added Vala, pointing an accusasing finger toward him.
"Yes and I'm sure that the part of the story where the dragon appeared to be a massive treasure hoarder has nothing to do with your interest in all of this." he answered back.
"Well I'm pretty sure that a creature sensible enough to make one good deal, will be sensible enough to make another one. And it's not because Janus wasn't interested in the gold he gave out, because he abandonned materialism by being on the verge of ascencion that everybody has to be the same. I'm pretty sure that we can figure out a way to make another deal more advantageous." Said the woman thinking of what kind of thing she could offer in exchange.
"It would be surprising that a creature could survive this long. It's been 10.000 years since Janus made that deal." Interrupted Teal'C. "But I remember from Tau'Ri history that dragons don't like thiefs".
"I already told you several times Teal'C, those fantasy novels are imaginary. Nobody ever met a dragon!" said Cameron, tired of having the same discussion with the Jaffa time and time over since Daniel translated the database that they found in the Milky Way laboratory.
"I remember fighting a dragon, when we where seeking for the Grail and now we have another confirmation from Janus that they are real". Said Teal'C on a tone clearly indicating that the matter was solved.
"Oh yeah, I remember Darell. I hope the next one will be friendlier. I wonder if we will also have to figure out a name to make a deal with ... finally!" started to say Vala before the door opened and she looked at Daniel.
"Yes sorry about that, Jack is never thrilled with this kind of mission" said Daniel taking a seat.
"Did you manage to convince O'Neill, Daniel Jackson ?" asked Teal'C
"I had to swear that we would, at the minimum, all die before starting a new war in case it goes sour, but yes, we are authorized to go further".

"You need me to in case there is a problem with the ship. I also admit that I'm curious about this whole story, I've been on Atlantis for years and as an ancient technology specialist it's a major discovery to find a field of expertise that they didn't wish to explore more. Especially since they had some successes and no major drawback". Said Dr McKey from the copilot seat.
In the experimental jumper, currently in high orbit around the Earth, nobody amongst the team really said anything about his presence, but the clear insecurity of the doctor made him frequently justify his involvement in the project. The current crew, all knowing him, were mainly thinking that if there was a major discovery about Janus, he would want his name somewhere mentionned in history. The fact that Daniel Jackson was a contender for the position of foremost explorator and ancient expert was probably also the icing on the cake for him to join operation "fantasy".
The mission itself, that was later named "fantasy", was given to SG1, Colonel Cameron Mitchell, Teal'C, Daniel Jackson and Vala Mal Doran. They also needed a good pilot for the modified puddle jumper left by Janus and now that the Lieutnant Colonel John Sheppard was unnassigned to any mission, he spontaneously volunteered.
The case of doctor McKey was slightly different. Sheppard asked him to check the ship after it had been investigated and repaired by the SGC and he had grumbled for several days while he remade most of their work. In the end, deprived of his post as chief scientist, he missed being in the center of attention. Without having Atlantis as a base of operation, he refused to participate in the ongoing Pegasus expedition with Ronan and Teyla, wich is exclusively dedicated to save as much people as possible from the wraith and monitor the situation in the galaxy. Instead, he badgered everybody involved in the project until he was given the position of scientist in the mission.
The mission itself was mostly straitforward; for a first attempt, it would be a simple in depht reconnaissance, taking advantage of the puddle jumper cloaking and scanning capabilities. Eventualy, cautious sorties were possible, but only if safe opportunities should present themselves. The mission would last maximum seven days, after that delay they would be declared MIA and a rescue operation might be attempted in the long term, in the case the technology could be recreated from Janus's researches.
The ship itself had been filed with food, commodities, equipment, weapons and in case it's needed, several suitcase containing gold coins and ingots. The six of them would be a small team for this kind of operation, but it was agreed upon that the main goal, for the moment, should be to confirm the notes from Janus and determined the feasability of a more important mission, if the reward outweigh the risks.
"Yes McKey, you are the most important person in here and this mission would be a failure without you." said Sheppard as he made a last check of the ships status. He then turned back to see the rest of the team in the passenger compartment and yelled "Everybody is ready ? We didn't forget anything ?".
After a couple of second Teal'C nodded, Daniel answered ready, Vala made a big smile and Cameron gave a thumbs up.
"Control, this is fantasy, all is ready and we are ready to proceed" said Sheppard in the radio.
"Fantasy, this is control, you have a go. I repeat, you have a go. Good luck fantasy" came back the answer.
"You heard the man McKey, launch the experiment" said the pilot.
Using the console keyboard, the doctor took a couple of minutes to activate Janus's prototype, when finaly a dark red hyperspace window openned in front of them.
The ship entered it.
The whole crew watched by the front window the incredible scenery; instead of the usual quiet dark blue tunnel they found themselves in a bright red maelstrom. lightnings and strange shapes could be seen all around them. They saw diformed giant faces looking a them and small shades of purple and orange that seem to fight each other in the middle of this amazing chaos. The ship started to shake and before anybody could do or say anything, it ended.
Brutaly, the ship was dropped out of the insane tunnel and came to a full stop.
"That was something" comented McKey covered in sweat.
"I think we made it, look!" said the pilot while retaking control of the ship and checking for damage.
In a corner of the cockpit window, they could all saw it. They found a planet.
