The Book of Connor
I
With Max's passing, Seamus's followers were faced with a dilemma. The tragedy had caused a division amongst them, with some suggesting that they should split into different groups. One group would be tasked with hunting down Luke, the traitor who had betrayed their cause. Another group would be sent out to find new converts, spreading the teachings of Seamus. Finally, a third group would engage in combat against Seth, the servant of Darkness.
Zeke of Earth proposed a solution to the division. He believed that the followers of Seamus should be structured into distinct groups, each with a designated leader. Rebecca of Water was chosen to lead the group of Water-masters, Harold of Air was given the leadership of the Air-masters, Gareth of Fire was appointed to lead the Fire-masters, and Zeke himself would lead the Earth-masters.
Despite the initial scepticism towards Zeke's proposal, his ideas were eventually accepted by the followers of Seamus. The groups were formed, and each set out on their own respective missions, determined to continue the legacy of Seamus, and spread his teachings far and wide.
In the city of Boston, the followers of Seamus gathered for a council of his greatest prophets. They were Gareth of Fire, Rebecca of Water, Harold of Air, Samson of Fire, Zeke of Earth, and Sally of Earth. Along with them, a great many other followers from cities such as Newark, Philadelphia, Hartford, Albany, New York, Washington, and Annapolis, also came. Although these followers did not possess the power of Seamus' great disciples, they were still allowed to speak.
Connor of Earth from Albany was given the task of recording all that occurred at the gathering. This council was of great importance, for the followers of the Light had never had to choose their own leaders, as Seamus himself had chosen Max. The council was held on the night of June 15th, a moonless night, to ensure that the agents of Seth and Luke would be unaware of the meeting. The followers gathered on the steps of a great statue and discussed the fate of Seamus' Church.
At the council of the followers of Seamus in Boston, a debate arose regarding the leadership of the Church after the death of Max. Gareth of Fire proposed that the legacy of Seamus and Max be passed down in a rotation, with the next ruler being of Fire or Air since his own powers were unmatched in Air. Zeke of Earth countered that leadership should be shared, based on Seamus's words that "I am as high as you". This suggestion irked Gareth, who was quick-tempered, and he accused Zeke of wanting to break the ways of their people. Zeke responded that power for one was against the ways of their people, but this only further angered Gareth, who stormed out of the meeting with a group of followers, including Toby of Air, Justin of Earth, Jake of Fire, Alexandra of Water, Alice of Fire, and Sally of Earth. Sally commented that Zeke's egotism would be the downfall of the Light.
II
The four remaining great followers of Seamus divided the people into four groups, each led by one of them. Rebecca, who still had feelings for Gareth, suggested that the second strongest Earth-wielder, Sylvia, rule instead of Zeke. Sylvia became Sylvia of Wood after sharing her power with Rebecca, who became Rebecca of Ice. The followers were divided further, with Milo and John of Water, Frederick of Air, and Zeke and Connor of Earth, Thomas of Water led by Sylvia, Leah of Fire, Prudence, and Sam of Earth led by Samson, and Trevor and Katherine of Air led by Harold. Each group had a different mission, with Sylvia's group travelling to the Northern parts of the country, Samson's group travelling to the Southern parts, and Harold's group travelling West to convert the heathen people there.
Rebecca said: "Dear siblings, As we stand here today, divided into four groups, I must ask why we must divide ourselves into castes. Why must we hold onto our powers so tightly? Why can we not combine a small amount of our power and share it with each other?
By sharing our powers, we can become even stronger. We can work together, pool our strengths, and accomplish much more than we could alone. And if one of us were to fall, we would still have the support of the others to continue the mission that Seamus left us.
I propose that we share our powers and create a new kind of leader representing multiple elements. Imagine what we could achieve if we worked together, combining the power of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. It would make us unstoppable, a force to be reckoned with.
Please consider this proposal, let us work together and show the world the true meaning of the Light."
Sylvia stepped forward; her eyes narrowed as she regarded Rebecca. "I have been watching you, Rebecca. And I've noticed that your true intentions are not as pure as you make them out to be. What is it that you really want?"
Rebecca remained calm and her face impassive. "What do you mean, Sylvia? I have always been a faithful follower of Seamus. My intentions are to serve the Light and continue his legacy."
Sylvia shook her head. "You may fool the others with your words, but I can see through your facade. You seem to always push for the combining of powers, for the sharing of power among us. Why is that?"
Rebecca sighed. "Sylvia, I understand your suspicion. But let me assure you, my intentions are not selfish. I propose the sharing of power so that we may become stronger as a group. If we work together and share our strengths, we can better serve the Light and achieve Seamus' vision."
Sylvia looked at her sceptically. "And what if the sharing of power leads to the dilution of our abilities? What if it leads to our downfall?"
Rebecca smiled gently. "We will always face risks, Sylvia. But if we do not take chances, we will never grow. I believe in the strength of the Light and in our abilities to overcome any obstacle that may come our way. We must trust each other and work together if we hope to succeed."
Sylvia thought for a moment before nodding. "Very well, Rebecca. I will trust in your words. But know that I will be watching you closely, and I will not hesitate to act if I see anything that threatens the Light."
III
Connor sat in solitude, replaying the vision that had come to him in his mind. He saw Rebecca, once a trusted leader among the followers of Seamus, plotting and scheming against them. The discovery weighed heavy on his heart, and he struggled with what to do. He knew that if he spoke up and accused Rebecca, the already fragile unity of the group would be shattered. However, the thought of staying quiet and allowing Rebecca to continue her deceit was unbearable.
In the end, Connor decided not to tell anyone about his vision. He couldn't bear the thought of tearing the group apart, and he feared that speaking out could harm the mission of the followers of Seamus. Instead, he made a silent vow to keep a close eye on Rebecca and to be ready to act if the situation called for it. With a heavy heart, Connor left his dwelling and joined the others in their daily tasks, trying to push the vision out of his mind and focus on the mission at hand.
As the followers of Seamus continued to divide and travel forth, a new problem arose. Seth, a charismatic leader, began to gather a following of his own. He preached of a new way, a way that did not rely on the elements or the Light. He claimed that the Light was holding them back and that it was time for them to embrace a new power.
Many of the followers of Seamus were swayed by Seth's words, drawn to his promise of a brighter future. The community was torn apart by the conflict between those who followed the Light and those who followed Seth.
Rebecca and the other leaders tried to reason with Seth and his followers, but he was relentless. He continued to convert more people to his movement, insisting that the future was in his hands. The leaders of the followers of Seamus realized that they needed to act quickly, or risk losing everything they had built.
Connor, who had had a vision of Rebecca's treachery, weighed his options. He could reveal what he had seen and try to stop the conflict, but he feared that doing so would only make matters worse. Instead, he decided to stay silent, hoping that the situation would resolve itself without his intervention.
As the conflict between Seth's followers and the followers of Seamus escalated, it became clear that something had to be done. But what that something was, no one could agree on. The community was torn apart, with each side unwilling to listen to the other. It appears the followers of Seamus were headed for a fateful confrontation, one that would determine the future of their movement.
IV
The followers of Seamus were devastated by the sudden loss of one of their own. Connor had been a beloved member of the community and his passing left a great void in the hearts of all who knew him. Despite the sadness and grief that filled the air, the followers remained steadfast in their commitment to their cause. They honoured Connor's memory by continuing the work that he had started and dedicating themselves to spreading the message of hope and light. As they tended to the sick and worked to prevent the spread of illness, they remembered the words of Seamus that echoed through the ages: "For even in the darkest of times, there will always be a glimmer of light, a hope that burns bright, a flame that cannot be extinguished."
The loss of Connor hit the community hard. They had already been struggling with the conflicts between the followers of Seamus and Seth's movement, and now they were facing an illness that was taking the lives of their own. The four leaders, Sylvia, Samson, Harold, and Rebecca, worked together to try and find a cure, but to no avail.
Sylvia was particularly affected by Connor's death. He had been her closest ally, and she felt responsible for his passing. She struggled with feelings of guilt and remorse, and her anger towards Rebecca only grew stronger.
However, in the face of tragedy, the community rallied together. They remembered the teachings of Seamus and the importance of unity in the face of adversity. The followers of Seamus redoubled their efforts to convert more people to their cause, while the leaders worked tirelessly to find a cure for the illness.
Despite their efforts, the illness continued to spread, and more people fell ill and passed away. The community was in a state of panic, and many were starting to lose faith. But in the midst of all the chaos, a miracle occurred. A young girl, who had been one of the first to fall ill, suddenly recovered and was cured of the sickness.
Word quickly spread of the girl's miraculous recovery, and people started to flock to her in hopes of being cured. The leaders of the community discovered that the girl had a special gift, the power to heal. With this newfound hope, the followers of Seamus were able to turn the tide against the illness and slowly but surely, the sickness was defeated.
The community mourned the loss of their loved ones, but they were grateful for the gift of healing and for the strength and resilience they had shown in the face of adversity. They continued to spread the message of Seamus and work towards a better future for all.
