A few hours later, in the desert

As the sand vortexes of Imhotep and Zahra were crossing into the desert sands, moving at fast speeds, the 1 of Zahra got in front of Imhotep, stopping him from going any further, to which he took as a sign that she wanted to talk. And so, after putting Evy and Beni down, they transformed back into their human forms before Imhotep asked. "What is this about, Zahra?"

"We must talk. Now." Zahra answered. "About what you are planning to do. Whatever plans you think you have for this world are not yours, but Anck-Su-Namun's."

"What are you talking about? We are immortals, Zahra. We have become like gods among these mortals." Imhotep said, believing that with the powers he and Zahra possessed, they had become like gods in the mortal realm. "And once Anck-Su-Namun is resurrected, she, too, will share that gift with us."

"This…is no gift, Imhotep. What we are and the powers that came with it, including immortality, is a curse. And we are not gods among these people, we are unholy, undead creatures. The very thing our people despised." Zahra countered, knowing that what she and Imhotep had become was an affront to the natural order.

"If you truly believe that, Zahra, why did you not stop Nefertiri from sentencing me to become this?! That insolent child had no right to curse me that way, even after what I did!"

"She was mad with grief over her father's death! And I tried to stop her, but she refused to listen to me! You and I both know that there was nothing I could have done to change her mind, especially since she had become Pharaoh!" Zahra countered before calming down and trying to convince him. "Everything that has happened to us…was all because of my sister's lies and manipulations! Of which Seti, you and I, as well as Nefertiri were the prime victims."

"Lair! She loved me!" Imhotep yelled out.

"No, she did not. Throughout her life, she loved only 1 thing: power above everything else, including her own family. Which is why she and I never got along, even as children." Zahra said before trying to make him remember the man he'd been long ago. "Imhotep, you were once a good man who cared about innocent lives. You were the high priest of Lord Osiris himself, who prepared the dead for Lord Anubis so he could guide their souls to the world beyond this Earth."

"That life… ended the second I killed Seti, Zahra! It no longer has any meaning for me! And the gods, despite my prayer for strength during my mummification, turned their backs on me!"

"Because of the sins and blasphemy you committed against him. You knew that killing Seti was the ultimate sin of our land, and using the Book of the Dead was absolutely forbidden, as decreed by the Pharaohs of old, and even the gods themselves! And yet, you broke those ancient laws because of blind love. And that life still does have meaning for you. It reminds you of the man you were, the man who you truly were. You have only forgotten. Imhotep, I know that there is still good in you, despite what you've become. I can feel it in my heart." Zahra said, with love in her voice, making Evy, who was watching the conversation, suspect, by the look of Zahra's face, that she was in love with him, while Beni was confused at first.

But Imhotep, despite what Zahra had just told him, stubbornly refused to listen to her. "NO! I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT! Anck-Su-Namun did love me! And I do not fear what I am now as you clearly do. Join me, Zahra. And together, with your sister, we can bring everlasting peace, freedom, justice and order to our future empire."

"Our future empire? No, Anck-Su-Namun's future empire!"

"Do not make me kill you!" Imhotep warned.

Zahra tried 1 more time to make him see reason. "Imhotep, our people and era are long since dead and nearly forgotten, as we should be with them! This world is not ours to take for ourselves! And it is not to be ruled by anyone, especially UNHOLY, UNDEAD CREATURES SUCH AS OURSELVES!"

Imhotep growled and said to her. "If you will not stand with me in bringing about a new era…then that means we must be enemies!"

"Words only a creature of evil would say." Zahra said with pity before backing up and vowing. "Then I will do what I must to complete my destiny."

Imhotep smiled evilly. "You will try, my old friend."

The 2 mummies roared before using the power over the sands of Egypt to create vortexes over their lower halves and began to fight very fiercely, seemingly being evenly matched by Evy and Beni's perspective, but in truth, Zahra, despite being close to Imhotep in strength and power in every way, was slowly losing as Imhotep was clearly stronger. But the fight was also a stalemate, as they were both immortal, and could fight forever if it dragged on.

"Your strength and powers, while stronger than mine when I was not fully regenerated, are clearly weaker now in my current state, Zahra." Imhotep told her, seeing the difference in their power. "But, of course, our powers and immortality make us both invincible. Neither of us can truly win."

"That may be true, but even so, you will not win, Imhotep." Zahra countered, seeing that this battle would become a stalemate and knowing that if she wanted to stop him, she'd need Ardeth Bay and Rick O'Connell to help her find the Book of Amun-Ra. And so, she contacted Evy telepathically. 'Evelyn, this fight is only becoming a stalemate. I must seek out Ardeth Bay, Rick O'Connell and your brother and help them find the Book of Amun-Ra. It's our only hope for stopping Imhotep at this point. Do you understand?"

'Yes, Zahra, I do. But you had better make it fast.' Evy answered.

Zahra then made a large majority of sand rise before she flung it into Imhotep's face before he could react and used the distraction to turn herself into sand and escape by traveling deep under the sands before Imhotep landed. "You disappoint me, Zahra. But in time, you will see that my vision of a better world is the right vision." He said before transforming into a sand vortex again and sucking Evy and Beni into it before moving forward to continue the journey to Hamunaptra.

Meanwhile, with Rick, Ardeth and Jonathan

After they had escaped by going through the sewers, they'd gotten to a safe place and gotten another car to travel to the airfield, where Rick knew Winston would be. Terence, with convincing, had separated from the group to go warn the rest of the Medjai about Imhotep and hopefully, they could gather every warrior possible and hopefully stop the Creature before he set his sights on taking over the world.

But while they were close to the airfield, they suddenly saw a sand vortex that began to take the form of Zahra, who walked up to them. "There is not much time to explain. Whatever you are planning, Rick O'Connell, we must act quickly."

"What about my sister?" Jonathan asked with concern.

"Imhotep will keep her alive, for now, Jonathan. But if there is any chance to stop him, we must find the Book of Amun-Ra and use it!" Zahra answered before getting into the car.

"Not that I don't trust you, Zahra, but with your powers being just like his, couldn't you just fight him yourself?" Rick asked while he continued to drive.

"I tried to, O'Connell. After I failed to convince him to stop, we fought. But despite our powers being the same, he was stronger. He always has been stronger than I, both as mortals and as these wretched creatures! And our immortality made the battle a stalemate, neither of us could win." Zahra explained. "The Book of Amun-Ra is the only hope we, and the world, has now."

"Zahra is right." Ardeth said. "The Golden Book is the only way to stop the Creature now."

"Then I know just the guy who can help get us to that City in time." Rick said before they got to the airfield and walked up to Winston, who was drinking tea and listening to Spanish music. "Morning, Winston. Uh, a word?"

After Rick had told them that they had a little problem, Winston asked his old comrade. "What's your little problem got to do with his Majesty's Royal Air Corps?"

"Not a damn thing." Rick answered.

Winston asked as he put his cup down. "Is it dangerous?"

"Well, you probably won't live through it."

"By jove, do you really think so?"

"Well, everybody else we've bumped into has died. Why not you?" Jonathan answered with a question.

"What's the uh…what's the challenge, then?" Winston asked while standing up.

"Rescue the damsel in distress. Kill the bad guys and save the world." Rick answered.

Winston laughed in eagerness. "Hahahaha. Winston Havelock, at your service, sir! Haha." Before he saw Zahra, who was standing next to Ardeth. "Oh, and who is this?"

"She's…a friend, I guess." Rick answered. "Her name's Zahra and she's…got a personal history with the bad guy and she's made it her… lifelong quest to stop him."

Winston walked up to her and spoke like a gentleman. "Greetings, Ms. Zahra. My name is Winston Havelock, of his Majesty's Royal Air Corps. It is a pleasure to meet you." He said before kissing the back of her right hand.

"Thank you, Winston. I trust you can help us in our quest?" Zahra asked.

"Why certainly, my lady. I was 1 of the best pilots in the Great War, and it will be an honor for me to die for your quest." Winston answered. "But, I'm not sure my plane can carry all of us."

"Don't worry, Winston, I won't need to be carried on your…strange chariot." Zahra said while eyeing the plane, finding it strange. "But I must ask: how will this 'plane' as you call it, get us to Hamunaptra?"

Rick smiled at his Mummy friend and said. "Oh I think you and him are gonna be really surprised."

Sometime later

Winston was flying his airplane to Hamunaptra, with Rick in the gunner's seat while Jonathan and Ardeth were strapped to the left and right wings. But it was Zahra who was in the most surprising position, as she was standing on the top wing with her arms crossed as her hair and cloak blew in the wind, much to the other's shock and amazement. Unknown to them, Zahra was using a power she'd learned to keep herself balanced, and it seemed to be working perfectly.

Rick looked at Jonathan and whistled before asking. "Are you alright?!"

Jonathan, who wasn't liking this at all, answered sarcastically. "Do I bloody look alright?!"

Rick then looked at Ardeth, who was clearly enjoying flying through the air on the plane by having an excited look on his face. "How you doing?" Rick asked before grinning. He then looked at Zahra, who was the most serious out of all of them at the moment, despite being as surprised as Ardeth, as she could never have dreamed that humanity would be advanced so far as to build machines that could fly. "Hey, Zahra! How you doing up there?!"

Zahra looked at Rick and gave him a small smile, telling him silently that she was clearly enjoying this experience before looking away.

"O'Connell, how is Ms. Zahra doing that?" Winston asked.

"Well, let's just say that she's…kinda gifted." Rick answered, not knowing how his old comrade would react if he knew that Zahra was a 3,000 year old Mummy.

But then, Winston saw a sand vortex, which Zahra knew was Imhotep. "See that? I've never seen 1 so big."

"Never?"

"No." Winston answered before turning the plane, while Zahra gave a glare, as she knew that they'd finally reached Hamunaptra.

When the sand vortex stopped moving, Evy and Beni were thrown out before she began hitting the greedy treasure seeker to get him off her. "Get off of me! Get off!"

Beni did just that before they were both on their knees. "I need a new job." Beni said before they both looked up and saw the sand vortex take Imhotep's form once again, with some of his cloak coming off as he walked forward so that he was only in his tunic and robes.

Evy looked in the distance and saw the City of the Dead before them. "Oh my god. We're back." She said before they all looked up and saw the airplane flying towards them, making Evy smile as she knew what that meant. "O'Connell. Zahra."

But Imhotep, tired of Zahra's and her human friends' constant interference, roared loudly as he used his power to create an enormous wall of sand and sent it after the plane. "RRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAHHH!"

Rick saw this and was starting to look shocked. "Oh my God." He said before calling out to Zahra. "HEY, ZAHRA! LOOKS LIKE YOUR FRIEND KNOWS WE'RE COMING!""

Zahra looked behind her and, knowing that this was Imhotep's doing, called out to Winston as she concentrated hard, forming an invisible barrier around the aircraft. "I have formed a barrier, O'Connell, but that is all the assistance I can provide at the moment!"

"Right!" Rick said before telling his old comrade. "HEY, WINSTON, PEDDLE FASTER!"

Winston, seeing the sand wall from the left rear view mirror, told everyone. "Hang on, my friends!" Before he flew the plane down the high rocky ledge that Ardeth and his fellow Medjai leaders stood up on for years and began trying to fly away from the sand wall.

Zahra and Rick looked and saw Imhotep's face form on the sand wall, smiling in confidence and victory. Rick tried shooting at the face with the mounted machine gun, despite the fact that it wasn't doing anything but making Imhotep angry.'I admire his bravery, pointless though his efforts may be. But they should know that as long as they are in the sands of Egypt, they are at his mercy.'She thought to herself before Imhotep roared and opened his sand mouth gigantically wide, making her roar as well as she used more power to make her barrier last as long as possible. "RRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAHHH!"

As Evy watched as the plane was engulfed in the sand wall, she looked at Imhotep. "Stop it! Aside from Zahra, you'll kill them!"

"That's the idea." Beni told her before Evy rushed to Imhotep and continued to watch as the plane was beginning to spin upside down.

"Here I come, laddies! Hahahahaha!" Winston said with a laugh, thinking that because about to go down in a blaze of glory.

Evy tried something that she knew she would regret, especially if Zahra ever found out. 'Zahra, I hope to God you'll forgive me for this.' She thought to herself before grabbing Imhotep's and pulling him into a distracting kiss that made him open his eyes and break his concentration before the storm died down, making Evy grin as she separated from him and he looked to see the plane's engine had caught fire and crashed down a few seconds after!

Imhotep, thinking his enemies, save for Zahra, were now dead, began walking towards the City of the Dead as Beni said. "I loved the whole sand wall trick. It was beautiful. Bastard."

Meanwhile

As Zahra, Rick and Ardeth were getting out of the plane, Jonathan called out. "Excuse me! Um…a little help… would be useful if it's not too much TROUB…WHOA!" As he was let loose by Zahra. "Thank you, Zahra."

"If you are done complaining, Jonathan Carnahan, we must stop Imhotep while there is still time!" Zahra told her ally.

Rick nodded before walking up to Winston. "Winston. Hey, Winston!" He said before he saw that his old comrade was dead, but had a smile on his face. Rick checked his pulse and it confirmed it before he looked at Zahra and Jonathan, who both were remorseful at Rick's loss.

But then, the middle part of the plane began sinking into the sand, making Ardeth tell them as they all backed up. "Quicksand! Get back! It's quicksand!"

As they watched Winston sink into the sands, Rick gave his old comrade a salute for his bravery, as he had finally gotten the glorious death he'd always wanted, while Zahra sent a prayer to Anubis. "Lord Anubis, hear my prayer: watch over Winston Havelock's noble and brave soul, and see his soul depart to a world far better than this one."

Rick and the others smiled. "Thanks, Zahra."

"You are welcome, Rick O'Connell." Zahra said while putting a hand on his shoulder. "Come, there is not much time left." She told her comrades before she began to lead them to Hamunaptra, where they could hopefully stop Imhotep before another life was lost.

Later on

As Imhotep walked down the staircase that led to the resurrection chamber, Evy stopped before Beni rudely pissed her forward with his drawn gun. "Keep moving."

Evy looked at him and said. "You know, nasty little fellows such as yourself always get their comeuppance."

Beni chuckled and asked with a bit of concern. "They do?"

"Oh yes. Always." She warned him before moving forward.

Meanwhile, in another chamber

As Rick and Ardeth were digging through the stones to proceed, with Zahra on the lookout for any type of danger Imhotep would send after them, Jonathan, who was not helping the others, simply said. "Uh, I'd take those bigger stones 1st. Take them from the top otherwise the whole thing will cave in on us. Come on, put your backs into it." Causing Zahra, Rick and Ardeth to give him a look, making him chuckle nervously. "Yes, well you've got the idea. Chop chop. Haha." And when they went back to doing what they were doing, he saw Scarab shells on the nearby wall. "I say." And took 1 out, looking at it closely. "Hey, gents. Zahra, you should come and have a look at this."

But then, the scarab broke out of its shell and began to do what the other 1 did to the warden a few days ago, making Jonathan yell in pain and Rick and Ardeth to look at him. "What?" Rick asked.

"M-m-my arm!" Jonathan said while trying to get the bug out of him.

That was when Zahra grabbed him by the arm and whispered. "My little friend, come out of him. He is not worth eating." Making the scarab stop before chewing out Jonathan's arm, making Rick draw 1 of his guns. But Zahra stopped him. "Do not even think about it, Rick O'Connell! You will not harm my little friend!" She told him before the scarab crawled into her hand while Jonathan quickly scurried away. Zahra petted the scarab with her index finger. "Hello, my little friend. I apologize that your slumber was disturbed. That idiotic fool just does not know when to keep his hands to himself!" She said while glaring at Jonathan, who, along with Rick, was disgusted at seeing this, while Ardeth was amazed at seeing this, as no human in the world had ever interacted with Scarab Beetles this way before. "But…I do know someone in this city who is more than worth eating." The scarab squealed with eagerness. "Good, my little friend. Your next meal will be quite rewarding. Gather your swarm and wait for the right moment to appear, and he will be ripe for eating." She said before putting her little friend down before it squealed in happiness and crawled into the sand. Zahra looked at the others and told them, mostly Jonathan. "From now on, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT IS NECESSARY! IS…THAT…CLEAR?!"

Jonathan nodded in fear while Zahra used her magic to heal his wound. "Y-yes ma'am, perfectly clear."

Meanwhile

Imhotep, while putting the jars on the dai, had a feeling that Zahra was in the City by now and was more than likely heading here to stop his plans. Not wanting any more interference, he reached into 1 of the jars, pulling out the crusted remains of Anck su namun's heart. He crushed it to dust in his hand and blew the dust against a mausoleum wall before speaking ancient Egyptian words before moaning as heard from the wall.

Evelyn and Beni stared at the wall, both of them wide-eyed as 2 horrific-looking mummified corpses emerged from the wall: who had been 2 of Imhotep's long dead Priests in life. "Bembridge scholars never wrote about this." Evy said with a look of surprise.

The mummified priests bowed to Imhotep, who smiled and returned the vow before ordering them. "Kill the mortals, wake the others, find the Book of Amun-Ra and bring it to me!" Before they turned and moved off down a passageway to do their master's bidding once again. And as Imhotep was finishing preparations for the ritual, he spoke to Evy. "I want your heart."

Evy blushed, feeling a bit flattered, but then told him. "I'm truly flattered, but my heart is already taken."

But Imhotep walked up to her and smiled evilly. "You misunderstood. I want your heart and your brain, your liver, your kidneys…and your intestines. If I am to resurrect Anck Su Namun, I require your organs. All of them."

Evy was shocked to hear that. "You only want me for my organs?!"

Imhotep nodded before backhanding the British woman, knocking her unconscious and stared at her in a cold and malevolent way, then he turned and walked off into the mausoleums, while Beni nervously glanced around, then quickly scurried away.

Meanwhile

Zahra, Rick, Ardeth and Jonathan came out of a small crevice in a small wall of a darkened chamber and saw an ancient Egyptian light mirror nearby. Rick looked at Zahra and she used her Telekinesis to point the mirror up to the sunlight, making the light reflect the other mirrors and light up the chamber, revealing massive amounts of golden treasure, the vast fortune of Seti and the entire wealth of Egypt itself.

Everyone stared at the treasure in surprise, especially Jonathan. But Zahra wasn't fazed by this, as her mind was entirely focused on completing her destiny, and the fact that, even in her mortal life, she was never interested in or valued gaining wealth, only keeping the land: plants, animals, and innocent people, especially her loved ones safe. Just like the Medjai, both in her time and this modern time.

As Zahra led them into the chamber, Jonathan, who was nearly hypnotized by all the gold, asked. "Can you see…?"

"Yeah." Rick answered.

"Can you believe…?

"Yeah."

"Can we just…?

"You'll have to ask Zahra about that."

"Hey, Zahra, could we just…?"

"We have more important things to worry about, so no!" Zahra answered, while she secretly snapped her fingers.

But then, they heard something and turned around before Imhotep's undead priests began to burst from the floor. "Who the hell are these guys?"

"Priests. Imhotep's priests." Ardeth answered.

"I never killed a priest before." Rick said while pointing his shotgun at them.

"They were fools, both in life and now undead, as they willingly and blindly followed Imhotep's every last order, both for good and evil. And because of that, they are cursed as well. They matter not." Zahra assured her ally.

"Oh, so if I kill them, I'm good." Rick said.

"I believe you are." Zahra said while conjuring a golden sword like the ones that Ardeth used.

"All right then. Thanks." Rick said before he, Ardeth and Jonathan began shooting the undead priests, killing some of them. Jonathan even took Rick's pistols when his gun ran out and shot the priests with them before they ran out while Zahra used her sword to easily slice through them, killing most of them before she led her allies through a doorway as more of them began to chase after them, while Beni, who had shown himself after they were gone, gazed upon the treasure and began laughing in joy.

Meanwhile

Evy, who had slowly woken up, found that she was shackled to another dei and she felt something moving on her. She looked and saw a rat crawling on her, making her gasp before she rolled over to get the rodent off her…before she saw an undead female mummy laying beside her, making her scream. "AAAAAHH!"

Back with Zahra and the others

They were continuing to kill some of the undead priests who were chasing after them as they entered another chamber. "There he is!" Jonathan said before lighting up the torches next to the statue of Horus himself. "Hello, Horus, old boy."

As Zahra entered the chamber after her allies, she told them. "Everyone, take cover! Now!" Before she conjured up a big fireball and threw it at the doorway, blowing up the undead priests and sealing the entrance shut.

"Hey, nice thinking, Zahra." Rick said.

"There will be more, Rick O'Connell. Get the Book of Amun-Ra and be quick!" Zahra said, making him and Jonathan do just that.

Meanwhile, with Beni

The cowardly treasure seeker was pulling out a heavy sack of treasure out of the front entrance before trying to get 1 of the nearby camels, who refused to follow him and made him curse in his native language. And when he finally got the animal to do so,she put the sack on it, making it angrily groan before he took out a small piece of treasure, making him grin before he looked back at the entrance, his greed getting the better of him as he wanted far more than just a small fortune.

Meanwhile, in the resurrection chamber

As several of Imhotep's undead priests gathered around the deis, getting to their knees and beginning to bow repeatedly as they did 3,000 years ago, Imhotep himself walked up to the deis, with the Book of the Dead in hand before he looked at the female Mummy and ran his hand over her face. Just as Anck-Su-Namun had done to him in life. "Anck-Su-Namun." He said softly before unlocking the Book with the key and putting it inside his ruined robes.

"O'Connell! Jonathan! Zahra!" Evy called out.

Back at the statue of Horus

As Rick and Jonathan were trying to get the compartment free, Ardeth was reloading the shotgun while Zahra stood beside him before they heard more undead priests coming through the other entrance. "Damn! These guys really don't quit, do they, Zahra?"

Ardeth cocked the gun before telling them. "Keep digging." Before stepping forward and beginning to shoot at the undead priests.

As Rick and Jonathan continued to pry out the compartment, some of the undead priests burst out of the floor and Zahra used her Telekinetic power to pull her allies back before springing the salt acid trap on the undead priests, killing them as well.

"Hey…thanks, Zahra." Jonathan said with a laugh.

"You are welcome. Now get the Book." She said before they did just that.

They pulled the Book out of the compartment and opened the container before unwrapping the cloth around it, revealing the Book of Amun-Ra in all its golden glory. "The Book of Amun-Ra." Jonathan gasped.

As Ardeth continued to shoot the undead priests until he ran out of bullets, he knew there was only 1 thing to do to give his allies the time they needed to get out. He looked at them and said what was seemingly his last words. "Save the girl. Kill the Creature."

Zahra understood her Medjai ally offered him her sword. "You will need this…my friend."

Ardeth dropped the empty gun and took the sword. "Thank you, Zahra. Now, fulfill your sacred vow…and complete your destiny, as I will mine!" He said before bravely rushing at the undead priests with no fear or hesitation and began to cut some of them down with his sword. As Zahra prepared another fireball, she, Rick and Jonathan looked at Ardeth 1 last time before he disappeared into the chamber. "What are you waiting for?! Get out! Get out!"

Zahra, though saddened by her Medjai allies potential demise, used her Telekinesis to get Rick and Jonathan to safety before throwing the fireball at 1 of the walls, destroying it and killing some of the undead priests that got through Ardeth before she put them down. "Come. Let us end my sister's legacy of death and destruction. Once and for all!"

"With pleasure." Rick said before Zahra led them through the hole Zahra had made.

Meanwhile, in the resurrection chamber

Evy watched as Imhotep read from the Book of the Dead while his undead priests, though it was horrific due to the lack of tongues, lips and jaws, chanted as the now blue shroud of Anck-Su-Namun's soul once again rose from the black pit and made its way into her undead body as Imhotep's chanting of the last words intensified before Anck-Su-Namun came back to life once again with a shrek before looking at Evy, who screamed in terror.

But then, she looked at Imhotep, who was raising the dagger he used last time up to plunge her with it. "With your death, Anck-Su-Namun shall live. And I will be…invincible!"

But before Imhotep could plunge the dagger into Evy, he saw Jonathan above the staircase, shouting out while holding the golden Book. "The Book of Amun-Ra! I found it, Evy, I found it!"

"The Book of Amun-Ra." Imhotep said with worry before he put the dagger down and began advancing towards Jonathan to get the only object that could kill him.

"Shut up and get me off here, Jonathan!" Evy told her brother. "Open the book, Jonathan. It's the only way to kill him. You have to open the book and find the inscription!"

"I-I can't open it. It's locked or something!" Jonathan said while trying to open the book. But then he realized that he needed the key. "We need the key, Evy."

"It's inside his robes." Evy told her brother as Imhotep was beginning to walk up the stairs, making Jonathan find someplace to hide from him so he could figure out how to get the key from him.

But, unknown to them, Rick, who had pulled a golden sword from a warrior statue, as well as Zahra, who pulled out her personal dagger, quickly nodded to each other and ran up to dei, with Rick cutting 1 of Evy's shackles. "O'Connell. Zahra."

Imhotep saw this and ordered his priests. "Destroy the mortal."

The undead priests rose up to do their master's bidding but Rick was quickly and easily slicing them into pieces, along with Zahra using her Telekinetic power to lift some of them up throw them hard into a wall while using her dagger to cut off the last undead priest's head before flicking it, and his body away with her Telekinesis before she unlocked the rest of Evy's shackles.

While this was happening, Jonathan, who was trying to figure out what inscription was necessary, saw the 1 on the cover. "Here's an inscription." Before reading it.

But the inscription only made 10 undead soldier mummies come to life and walk like loyal soldiers that they were in life out of the door that contained them, with Imhotep smiling a bit as they prepared to attack Rick and the others.

"Oh yeah. This just keeps getting better and better." Rick said sarcastically. "Hey, Zahra, think you can take these guys?"

"Do not be such a coward, Rick O'Connell." Zahra said while preparing for a fight.

"Do something, Jonathan." Evy told her brother.

"Me?"

"You can command them."

"You have got to be joking." Jonathan said with disbelief.

"Finish the inscription on the cover, you idiot, and then they will be under your control!" Zahra explained to him.

"Oh right." Jonathan said before going to a safe location to do just that.

As the Mummy soldier slowly advanced on them, Zahra looked and saw that Anck-Su-Namun, as well as the dagger Imhotep laid beside her was gone…before appearing right behind Evy and trying to slash her with the dagger, making the British woman flee.

But though she couldn't speak, Anck-Su-Namun thought to herself, having noticed that when she looked at the scared woman very closely, she looked like princess Nefertiri in every way, save for knowing how to fight. 'This is Nefertiri reincarnated? A sniveling, whimpering coward? How pathetic!'

But when she tried to slash at Evy again, another dagger blocked her and she saw who was unmistakably her little twin sister, who was glaring at her. 'Hello, sister.' She greeted telepathically.

'Zahra? You have returned as well?' Anck-Su-Namunsaid with surprise before glaring. 'I see 3,000 has not changed you.'

'Nor have they changed you, either!' Zahra said before pushing her far back.

Anck-Su-Namun got up and tried to slash Zahra but she just healed. But despite that, Anck-Su-Namun continued to slash and stab her immortal sister. 'You have no idea how much I have suffered for the past 3,000 years in the underworld! All the horrors and torture in inflicted upon my soul! Well, I am finally free and I will have my revenge upon this entire world! Beginning with Nefertiri's reincarnation…and you!'

Zahra grabbed her by the throat and looked her in what would have been her eyes if she'd still had any. 'All those centuries of suffering you have endured are no more than what someone as evil as yourself deserves, Anck-Su-Namun! I hope you enjoy this brief taste of freedom while you can, sister, because soon your soul will be sent right back where it belongs! But not before I give to you my own brand of punishment!' She said before disarming her mummified sister and pinning her to the floor before beginning to repeatedly punch the unlife out of her evil twin.

While this was happening, Rick looked at the undead soldiers, with 3 getting close to him by jumping over the black pit before he tried intimidating them with a loud yell. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

Only for them to let out an even stronger monstrous horrific roar. "RRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAA!"

"Uh uh." Rick said before running away from them as they chased after him. Rick went to a rope and cut it with his sword, making it up as he blocked 2 of the Mummy soldiers' attacks before an object connected to the rope fell on 1 of them. When Rick entered a chamber, he ran into 4 more Mummy soldiers that roared at him, making him run the other way and down the stairs as they scaled the walls. When Rick turned around, thinking he lost them, they landed behind him and he quickly began blocking their attacks when he turned around, killing 1 of them by decapitation. Rick then went on to fight them quite well, cutting them down with his sword and even throwing fire on 1 of them before kicking it into a black bog!

Jonathan then called out. "I can't figure out this last symbol!"

"What does it look like?" Evy asked while Zahra continued to pummel her undead sister, holding back her full strength so it would last as long as possible without killing her yet.

"It's, uh, a bird. A stork." Jonathan answered.

"It's Amenophus!"

"Oh yes, I see." Jonathan said with a grin while looking at the symbol. And as 2 of the Mummy soldiers pushed Rick down the stairs, they and the last 2 advanced towards him to deliver the killing strike before Jonathan read the last part of the inscription, ending with Amenophus, making them stop at the last moment as their swords and spears were inches away from Rick's head, making Imhotep, who had found Jonathan, look at them as they did nothing for a few seconds before standing ready for their new master's orders while Rick moved away from them.

"Destroy him! Destroy him!" Imhotep ordered them, only for it to be of no avail, as the Golden book's spell over them was too strong, even for his power over them. "I COMMAND YOU TO DESTROY HIM!"

But Jonathan looked at Zahra who pulled Mummy-Anck-Su-Namun up and backhanded her away, making him get an idea as he ordered the Mummy soldiers. "Destroy Anck-Su-Namun!"

When the Mummy soldiers then advanced on Zahra's undead evil twin, Imhotep called out to her. "ANCK-SU-NAMUN!" Making her and Zahra look to see the soldiers advancing on her. Imhotep looked mad and ran towards Jonathan to get the Book of Amun-Ra in order to gain his control over them back. "Give me that book!" Making Jonathan move back while dropping the book.

As the Mummy soldiers drew closer, Zahra smiled. "The Underworld will be pleased to have you back, sister." Before walking away to leave her evil sister to her fate.

Mummy Anck-Su-Namun backed away from the soldiers while calling out for her unknowing pawn. "IMHOTEP!"

Imhotep stopped and turned around. "ANCK-SU-NAMUN!" Before seeing the soldiers slaughtering Anck-Su-Namun, killing her and sending her evil soul back to the underworld where it belonged. But this only made Imhotep mad before he growled and walked towards Jonathan. "Now you die!" Before he picked him up and began to choke him to death.

But then, Rick ran up to him and slashed the cursed priest's arm holding Jonathan off, making him let go before he turned to Rick, looked at his slashed off arm and grabbed him by the shirt before throwing him away a few feet as his entire robe came off before he walked up to Rick while assembling his arm back on his body.

But before he could move any further Zahra tapped him on the shoulder, making him turn around before she punched him in the face with all her strength, knocking him into a wall before taking off her cloak, revealing the ripped bandages covering her private parts. "Face me, Imhotep! It is time we finally end this!"

Imhotep got back up, now completely angry at the 1 being who was most responsible for his failure. "Yes, Zahra, it is time!" Before he rushed to her and grabbed her arm before throwing her away.

Jonathan got up, having pick-pocketed the key from Imhotep's robes. "Evy, I've got it." Before he ran to his sister, with the key and the Book of Amun-Ra in hand.

Evy took the key as her brother held the book for her while Rick ran to them. "Let's hope Zahra can keep him busy."

"I don't think that's gonna be a problem, considering he's completely focused on her at this point." Rick said while he watched as the 2 Mummies fought each other, with Zahra punching Imhotep a few times in the chest, much to her displeasure and sadness.

Evy quickly unlocked the book and threw away the key before trying to find the right spell as Imhotep then delivered a much stronger punch to Zahra, sending her flying back a couple of feet close to the deis.

Imhotep, not paying attention to anything else around him, walked up to Zahra, with murder on his mind. "You should have joined me, Zahra. And with Anck-Su-Namun with us, we could have done great things together: restored our land, revived our civilization…and eradicated all evil from this world and made it a paradise for all of humanity, under our rule!" He said, revealing his ultimate plan for the world as he grabbed her by the neck. "But now…you will just have to die."

"You cannot kill me, Imhotep. As you do not know: your fate is linked to mine." Zahra countered.

"What are you talking about?!" Imhotep demanded to know.

"You will see. Sooner than you think." Zahra answered with a smirk.

"I've got it." Evy said before reading the ancient words from the golden Book of Amun-Ra. "Kadeesh mal! Kadeesh mal! Pared oos! PARED OOS!"

This made Imhotep look at them. But in that brief moment, Zahra used the opportunity to restrain Imhotep, by grabbing his arms and keeping them up. "Zahra, what are you doing?!" He asked before seeing a blackish blue portal opened from the top of the stairs and the ancient god Anubis began riding through on a chariot, making Imhotep terrified as he tried to get Zahra to let him go. "NOOO! ZAHRA, IF THAT HITS US, WE ARE BOTH FINISHED!"

"That is the idea, Imhotep!" Zahra countered before Anubis rode right through them as their immortal souls were forcefully dragged out of them by the God of the Dead before going back through the portal, taking their souls with him.

Imhotep, who Zahra let go of, ran up a few stairs while yelling out. "Come back! Come back!" Before the portal closed and disappeared.

"I thought you said it was gonna kill him?" Rick asked while having his sword at the ready for another attack.

But as Imhotep furiously growled and advanced towards them, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his midsection, making him stop before he looked down and saw a stab wound on him before he looked at his fingers and saw blood. "What…is…this?"

He then looked and saw Zahra, who had stabbed herself with her own personal dagger with a chuckle as she coughed out blood. "Hahaha…we…are mortal, Imhotep. And…as I said before: our fates…are intertwined." She answered before pulling the dagger out of her.

While Rick, Evy and Jonathan were shocked at this, Imhotep was the most shocked and surprised as he held his fatal wound and backed up into the black pool where Anck-Su-Namun's soul came out. "You…you linked… us."

Zahra walked up to the black pool and stepped inside it. "Yes."

Rick, Evy and Jonathan watched as the 2 now mortal Mummies began to turn back into their undead forms, in sadness for Zahra and pity for Imhotep, who looked at them and vowed. "Death…is only…the beginning." Before he was fully turned back into his eyeless, tongueless and ugly form by the souls surrounding himself and Zahra before he sank into the black pool, ending his reign of terror.

Zahra, who was slowly meeting the same fate, looked up at her modern time allies and told them her final words with a peaceful smile. "Remember these words: Love is stronger than pride, stronger than greed, stronger than hate, stronger than the power of gods, even stronger than death itself and will never die." Before her head slowly but fully transformed back into her undead form. "Goodbye…my dear friends." She said in her Mummy voice before she sank into the black pool, joining Imhotep in death. Just as she had done 3,000 years ago, much to Rick, Evy and Jonathan's sadness, with all 3 shedding a tear for Zahra, as well as pity for Imhotep.

"May you finally find peace with the man you love, Zahra." Evy said with sadness before her brother embraced her in comfort, with Rick doing the same.

"She may have been a Mummy like Imhotep, but she still had a good heart." Rick added.

"Yeah. Guess the message in her coffin was right. Love really is stronger than pride, stronger, greed, hate, the power of gods, and even death itself." Jonathan added, as despite his flaws, he loved his sister more than anything, even riches.

Meanwhile, with Beni

The greedy treasure seeking coward was carrying 2 more sacks of treasure through a chamber, but finding it heavy before he saw some kind of support beam in the shape of Anubis before he hung the sacks on it…before the weight of all the treasure pulled it down, and in the process, it triggered a bobby trap that was making the entire place come down! Beni then quickly grabbed his sacks of treasure, in a foolish decision of greed and stupidity but was forced to leave it as 1 of the doorways was closing, with him just barely getting through in time.

Back with Rick, Evy and Jonathan

They saw that the whole place was coming down and Rick said. "Time to go."

As the trio ran to the stairs to quickly get out of the City, Jonathan tripped over the stairs and dropped the Book of Amun-Ra into 1 of the black pools in the process before getting up and running as Evy ran to where the book was dropped, complaining to her brother. "You've lost the book. Jonathan, I can't believe…"

"Come on!" Rick and Jonathan said to her as they pulled her along.

They continued to run through the chambers as the whole place continued to collapse and when they got to the treasure chamber, Jonathan stopped and circled around, looking at it. "Well couldn't we just…"

"No, Jonathan." Evy said as she and Rick pulled him along to the stairs and got him in front.

As the trio made their way up the stairs and hurried to the fast sinking doorway, Beni followed closely behind, calling out for his 'friend' as the trio got through the nearly sunk doorway "O'Connell! O'Connell! Wait!"

Rick, despite Beni's previous betrayals, tried to save him by holding his hand out. "Come on! Come on! Come on! Come on!"

"Wait! Please!" Beni said as he reached for his 'friend's' hand.

But it was far too late as the doorway completely sunk while Rick withdrew his hand. "Goodbye, Beni." He said before getting up and running after Evy and Jonathan.

Beni saw that the ceiling was coming down and quickly grabbed his torch and crawled to the stairs, barely avoiding getting crushed before he rushed down the stairs and tried to run for another exit but both of other doorways sunk beneath the sand before he looked up and saw the ceiling that was coming down was stopped by a mirror which helped to emanate light in the chamber and which within a minute gave way to the weight of the stone ceilings, thus leaving Beni's torch as the last source of light in the treasure chamber.

As Beni looked around for another way out, a Scarab Beetle emerged on a statue's head and hissed menacingly at Beni, who tried to scare the bug off with his torch. "Go away." He said before telling it to leave in his native language…before he looked and saw the entire swarm of Scarabs coming into the chamber, making him whimper in fear before he tried in vain to scare them off with his torch, using his native language 1st before saying it in english. "Get away."

But as his torch began to die out, the lead Scarab squealed to its swarm, as if saying. 'Devour him slowly…in the name of our friend Zahra!' Before the swarm devoured Beni alive in the darkness.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Beni screamed in terror as he was devoured alive in the treasure chamber, a victim of his own greed.

Meanwhile, with Rick, Evy and Jonathan

The trio got outside and continued to run as the ruined City of the Dead was coming down around them and was beginning to sink under the desert sands, along with the camels that were close to it. And when they were far enough away, they watched as Hamunaptra, the City of the Dead, sank under the sands of Egypt, burying it and leaving it lost forever.

As they looked at the now buried City of the Dead, thinking of Zahra, a hand touched Jonathan's shoulder, making him and Rick and Evy jump in fear before they turned and saw that it was Ardeth, who had survived the undead priests and had gotten out alive and was now on a camel.

"Oh thank you. Thank you very much." Jonathan said sarcastically.

"You have earned the respect and gratitude of me and my people." Ardeth told them with a smile.

"Yeah. But…we lost a friend back there." Evy said with sadness for Zahra.

Ardeth knew who they were talking about and said with a bit of sadness as well, assuring his new friends as he held the golden sword that Zahra had given him. "Zahra has completed her destiny. It is what she wanted. And fear not. We have not lost her, my friends, she will always be with us. And she will never be forgotten, as I will pass on her story to my people. They will know who she was and what she did for Egypt and the world."

"I…think she'd really like that." Jonathan said with a smile.

"Yeah. I gotta admit…she wasn't bad…for a female Mummy. I was actually beginning to like her." Rick admitted, as despite his encounters with Mummies the past few days, Zahra was possibly the only good one."

"She was. But I'm sure she'd want to be remembered as the person she was in her time and not as a Mummy." Evy said with a smile.

"Then that was how she will be remembered. But while I will tell them what she was when she was helping us, I shall tell them that, despite being 1 of the undead, she still had her heart." Ardeth promised before looking at his new friends while putting his sword away. "May Allah smile upon you always, my friends." He said, saluting them.

"And yourself." Jonathan said before Ardeth rode away on his camel to return to his people and tell them everything that had happened. "Yes, anytime."

"Stay outta trouble." Rick said with a smile as Evy smiled as well.

"He's just leaving us here." Jonathan said before looking at Rick and Evy. "Well, I guess we go home empty-handed, again."

"Uh, Jonathan, look." Evy said before they turned and saw 3 sacks full of treasure, 1 of them was the sack Beni had brought out. She also saw a note, written in ancient Egyptian. "It says: 'My final gift to you, my dear friends: Rick O'Connell, Evelyn Carnahan and your somewhat greedy, but loving brother Jonathan. Zahra.' She read before chuckling.

"Looks like we don't go home empty-handed after all." Rick said before he and Evy looked at each other lovingly before they kissed deeply.

Jonathan chuckled as well. "Please…" He said with a bit of annoyance before walking up to a camel and putting the 2 sacks of treasure on 1 of the camel's saddlebags. "How about you, darling? Would you like a little kissy-wissy?" He asked the camel before it burped in his face. "Whoo…" He said as he waved the bad breath away.

Rick and Evy separated from their kiss and leaned their foreheads together with smiles before they mounted a camel together as Jonathan mounted his own before the trio rode off into the sunset with their treasure, but not before taking 1 last look at the now buried Hamunaptra with smiles, knowing that they would always remember Zahra and everything she had done for them, and that they hoped in their hearts that she had finally found peace with Imhotep in the afterlife.

There you go, my dear friends, the 1st Mummy movie is complete. Next will be the 1st chapter of the Mummy Returns, which will have a much better ending for Imhotep than what happened in the actual movie. I hope you all liked the parts that Zahra had in this, and I assure you that she'll have even more great parts to play in the 2nd movie. Be sure to give my good friend SreznoJIG credit as well, as he has helped me a lot with this story so far. Also, I'm planning on doing a oneshot about Anck-Su-Namun and Nefertiri really soon, which will hopefully be a good 1. Anyway, hope you all enjoyed this chapter. Rate and review and I'll see you all next time, my dear friends.
