San Antonio, Texas...
In the city of San Antonio, Monday Night Raw, is beginning. With the pyrotech show, and the audience vibrating and screaming because of the passion the event has in them. The thrill to see their favorite wrestlers in action is something beyond this world to them. It's more of a event. It's history-long decades in action since the beginning of Raw and Smackdown. The cameras move slowly, showing Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler in their tables.
(Cole) – Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to San Antonio, Texas. Michael Cole here, alongside with Jerry "The King" Lawler, and King, we're in for a trip tonight! A few months after WrestleMania, where Kofi Kingston became the WWE Champion for the first time, the lines have been drawn. Everyone is looking for a chance at the gold. We're 4 weeks away from Hell in a Cell, and what is not missing here tonight is competition!
(Jerry) – That's right, Michael. We've received info that tonight, in our main event tonight on Raw, there will be a #1 Contender Match between AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan. And Cole, Bryan is on the hunt for the title since WrestleMania. Tonight, he'll get his chance to be the challenger for Kingston's WWE Championship at Hell in a Cell. But we've still have some other fights in store. Sheamus will be facing Samoa Joe for the United States Championship in our first fight, and between the Tag Team scenario, The New Day will be defending the Raw Tag Team Championships against Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin, a few weeks before the Pay-Per-View.
(Cole) – Boy, we're in for a trip tonight! Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to start the Road to WrestleMania! – The fans cheered before the fights start, as a signal that the Road to WrestleMania not only has begun, but it's was going to be a wild ride.
Backstage...
Daniel Bryan watched the first match between Sheamus and Joe, looking the two fighting against each other, using all of their skills to win. Joe was defending the USA Championship, and Sheamus was looking to give all of him to have a chance.
(Cole) – 10 minutes away since the bout started, and Sheamus is looking to finish the fight here and now! – Sheamus tries the High Cross, however Joe hits Sheamus's face with his left elbow, and falls on foot, and gives a few punches in high speed, hitting his face and throwing the Celtic Warrior outside the ring. – Joe is turning the match in his favor! And now, both of them are destroying each other outside the ring! – Sheamus grabs Joe's face and hits the face on the steel stairs, busting him open, but Joe and Sheamus fight, hitting punches and kicks against each other, grappling against each other, outside the ring. – It's a war for the United States Championship, and King, these men are giving no reason to stop!
-3! 4! 5! – The referee begins to count, as Sheamus tries to turn the fight on his favor. Joe, grapples Sheamus, and puts him on top, using The Muscle Buster outside the ring to try and stop the Celtic Warrior.
(Jerry) – The Muscle Buster! Outside! This is it for Sheamus! – The Celtic Warrior lies on the floor, as the referee is in the count of 5, trying to rise, and Joe goes back to the ring. Sheamus, gives some slaps to his face, beginning to feel the rage in his body! – I can't believe it! After receiving the most devastating move from Samoa Joe, Sheamus is back on his feet! – He runs back to the ring, and uses the Lou Thesz Press, hitting some punches on his face, and this time, Bryan watched the bout, trying to mentally prepare himself for the fight. – Brogue Kick! – Sheamus runs, fooling Samoa Joe, and delivering the Brogue Kick on the United States Champion, going for the count.
-1! 2! 3! – The bell rings, simbolizing the victory of Sheamus.
-The winner, and the new United States Champion, the Celtic Warrior, Sheamus!
Bryan walked outside of his backstage, and began to watch the other wrestlers interacting with each other. He knew it was time for his interview with Renée Young, but the doubts in his mind was because of something beyond his understanding. He wanted the WWE Championship, and the win could mean his one more chance to get what he wanted. Before reaching the interview set, John Cena approached him, standing face to face with the leader of the Yes Movement.
(Bryan) – What do you want, Cena?
(Cena) – Just here to wish good luck. In fact, you're going to need it.
(Bryan) – You wishing me luck? I remember the time we've faced each other at SummerSlam for your championship. Last time i checked, i've won.
(Cena) – Bryan, you may be on top, during these last few weeks, but the truth is you're not the only one who's trying to gun for the WWE Championship. In fact, i've heard there's going to be a surprise next month.
(Bryan) – If you want the WWE Title, you would have to become the #1 Contender. – He walks to the interview set, getting ready for his interview. – I'm not the bad guy here, Cena. In fact, Rowan and me, we're not allies, not friends any longer. But if you became a contender, i'm gonna wish you luck too. Because you're going to need it.
Bryan and Renée were face to face with each other. Preparing the mic, Renée looked to Bryan, with a smile in his face.
(Renée) – This is Renée Young, and i'm here with Daniel Bryan, leader of the Yes Movement. Bryan, it's been a few months since Kingston won your title at WrestleMania. Now, after all you've been through, how do you feel to have the chance to fight for the Title once again?
(Bryan) – Well, Renée, i believe it's something more than a Title. Being a part of something more. Being a Champion is fighting for what you believe. I've lost my Title at WrestleMania, but that doesn't mean i'm going to give up. No matter what happens, i'm going to retrieve it.
(Renée) – Are these words of "The New" Daniel Bryan or not?
(Bryan) – I'm not "The New" Daniel Bryan. Not anymore, Renée. – He went back to his backstage, waiting for his time to fight. His time to be back on the contendership for the WWE Championship at Hell in a Cell. Daniel Bryan believed in himself, but ever since the recent events between him and Rowan, his fans believed in him again. And so, he believed in them. Daniel fought so hard to be champion a few years ago at WrestleMania 30, but the injuries forced him to stop, until he was cleared to return. It was his chance to be back at the top once again.
Some fights later...
Bryan awaited all the fights. The wait was something for which he was acquainted. He watched The New Day managing to defend the Tag Team Titles, and now, Bryan knew it's was his time. His time to go out there and fight for the #1 Contender post. Rising from the couch he was, Bryan began to walk to the aisle, and fight once again.
(Cole) – This is it. It's time for the main event. AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan for a shot at Hell in a Cell for the WWE Championship. He waited months for his chance. – Bryan began to walk, as he could hear the Yes chants in his mind. – And now, who will be the #1 Contender for the- – Suddenly, Sheamus appeared, hitting Bryan from behind, shocking all of those present in the arena. – What the?
Bryan got up, a little bit groggy, and saw the Celtic Warrior standing in front of them, with a look of confidence in his face.
(Sheamus) – Fella, you and i are gonna dance. – The two began to exchange punches against each other, delivering a vicious brawl on the backstage area. Sheamus and Bryan were destroying each other with their fight, trying to see who would be standing tall in the end.
(Bryan) – What is this?
(Sheamus) – It's not because i've got the U.S. Title, that i'm still out of the picture. – The Celtic Warrior delivered some kicks and chops to Bryan's chest, however Bryan fought back and striked once again. Bryan, then, dodged a Brogue Kick from Sheamus and delivered a Running Knee to the Celtic Warrior, leaving Bryan astonished on what happened. It looked like there was going to be some competition on his journey. Slowly, the Celtic Warrior got up, while Bryan was turned around. He delivered a punch between his back, and kicked the wrestler on his chest and belly over and over. Bryan, then, grabbed the foot of Sheamus and threw him over a box. Bryan, grabbed the head of Sheamus and hit him on a table, a few times, knocking the Celtic Warrior.
(Cole) – Well, Jerry, it looks like Bryan is going to have a challenge on his hands. But he will be able to win Styles and become #1 Contender?
